Protocol of communication for NI 9222

Hello

I can't believe I have to ask this question, but after extensive research, I thought I must ask - sorry for this simple question.

I just got my NOR-9222 and NOR-9263, they come with a VGA port. Then, how should I connect it to my PC? It is difficult to find a VGA cable these days so I just tried everything I have - VGA/HDMI, VGA/D; MAX cannot find the device after I plug.

I checked the user manual and installation guide and can not find that all of the information. There are VGA/USB, RS485/USB adapter out there, but I want to assure those to use before I rush order something.

Thank you

Those who are NOT VGA signals.  Yes, they use a similar connector.  If you try to use DAQmx with these modules, you need a cDAQ chassis.  They range from USB to Ethernet connections and unique to 14 slot slot.  Of your very simple description, I'd probably go with a cDAQ-9174, which is a USB 4 chassis.

    Hello

I downloaded OR-Industrial Communications for IEC 61850 14.0 and tried to activate it using my serial number for NI Developer Suite. However, I was said, "the following order numbers are not valid or do not correspond to their corresponding products.

The same serial number was accepted for activation of OR-Industrial Communications for Ethernet/IP, so I thought that I would have access to all communication, including IEC 61850 toolboxes. Is it not the case? How can I check the toolkits are covered and which are not?

    Thank you!

    Hi JKSH,

    1. the NO-Industrial Communications for EtherNet/IP is included in the Developer Suite, as mentioned JDizzle: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/202469

    2. the IEC 61850, DNP3 and IEC 60870 toolkit are not part of the Suite of developer.

    3. However, you can buy Electrical Power Suite Pro + amulet of usefulness of the protocols and it has the EPS Pro and IEC 61850 and DNP3.

    http://www.NI.com/download/LabVIEW-electrical-power-suite-2015/5380/en/

    4. or you can buy each (IEC 61850, DNP3 and IEC 60870) toolkit separately

  • Industrial communications for CANopen - interface create error

    Hello

I am trying to run a few basic examples, I found with the finder example in communication industrial directory - NOR - for CANopen-> cRio-> FPGA bitfiles-> CANopen_cRio_heartbeat.vi.

But the block 'create an Interface' gives me the error 2147136667.

I work with with module NI 9881 cRio. The module is connected to the robot from Festo.

You please any idea what can cause this error?

    The text of says error:

    Possible reasons:

You try to start an interface that is missing the bus for the transceiver power. Some physical layers on the material OR CANopen are fed internally, but others require an external power supply so that the port to operate. This error occurs when starting an interface on the equipment that requires an external power supply when no power is detected. Power supply right to your transceiver. Refer to the material of the NOR-Industrial communication CANopen Book for CANopen help for more information.

    See you soon

    Ivo

    Hello T.t,

The 9881 must be fed outdoors. You can do with a CAN of junction box or with a Câble CAN.

I think its IR because the module is placed in the middle of the glasses and the same info on IR can be found on other Web pages.

  • E/s and the issue of Communication for the sbRIO-9601

    Hello

Our company is looking to use the sbRIO-9601 in an OEM application and I had two technical questions on the Board of Directors.

    (1) are the functions VISA support?  I saw there an RS232 port, I want to just make sure I can read/write easily out of it using prebuilt VI rather than do all the level low and starting from scratch.

    (2) we will be reading and writing of simple commands to a device coupled via the RS232 interface and based on the response, illuminating an LED controlled by the Board of Directors.  I have not selected any led and hoped that neither could provide some clarification on the limits of the power provided in the sbRIO-9601 user guide.  We will use the 3.3V output... I should put a resistor in line current limiting or I can put the diode directly between the output pin and the digital ground?  Us can drive more than 15 LEDs, however, we will never more than 3 see on at any given time.  I saw in the 3.3V section i/o of the documentation that the current max tested per channel is 3mA... but bus total is 330mA.  Is there a limit to how much we can provide each channel as long as we remain under the 330mA all together?

    Thank you

    Hi leachdor,

    (1) VISA functions are supported for the RS232 port on the sbRIO, so do not do any level low programming for them.

    (2) the maximum that we specify channel 3 is my.  You can combine several channels in parallel to increase this output up to 330 mA for the total bus.  Since you're only driving 15 LEDs and there are 110 channels of output, you should be able to combine some led.

  • Renaming of documents by adding an annex of the commune for the names of existing files on several files in a single folder

Is it possible to add an annex to the town (for example "-file BL ') existing file name (for example"daily reports1) to several (selected) files in the same folder?  (The example given could therefore be renamed "daily reports - comes from the BL file").  I need to do this to identify the source of documents folder when they are copied into a common folder: to compare with the similar files in other folders for various purposes.  There are a lot of documents in many files, I need to transfer and compare.  A rough estimate, it is that I need to add an annex to the town of 200 files named differently in a single folder and repeat this process for 30 files: with my existing knowledge of XP, this means that I would have use the rename individually on 6000 documents, and if the additional annex has been say 5 characters which would be a minimum of 30 000 key strokes : If adding appendages common to several document names selected in a folder is possible, this might reduce the name change to close to 150 list.

PLEASE NOTE the multiple rename function where each selected file is the same thing with a renamed after the index number in brackets should not be - the original file name should be kept.

  • RV042G difference between the Strip protocol binding bandwidth <>- for the WAN ports

Can someone explain a little better then the manual what are the differences between the management of bandwidth on the WAN ports and protocol bindings?

If you specify in each section which protocol should go where, why have two places to set this up?

Or are there things to remember when you use one of them?

Protocol binding affects the leaves of outgoing traffic how a particular WAN interface.

With bandwidth management, you specify bandwidth across WAN, a service must be used.

  • Interportlet communication for the portlet added when running in thewebcenter

    Hi all
We have two portlet based on two ADF workflows.
We add these two portlet on our page during execution using the web space...
I mean, dynamically, we add these portlet on my page when running.
given that we do not have any page design time that can hold these two pages together so
as per my understanding between these two communication portlet is not possible by using the contextual action (using the producer and consumer).
Anyone may provide some pointer how to facilitate inter portlet communication in this case.
    Any prompt response is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Riko.

I adjusted finished my first version of the draft of the white paper.
It still needs some work, but it contains most of the data. It's more than I thought, but that again, I have added a lot of information on how to create portlets adf from scratch, so you can use this white paper as a tutorial to create portlets adf.

If you have any questions, please let me know if I can include additional information in the white paper.

  • Reading the words of temperature controller fits using Modbus

I'm working on a project that involves the use of a certain number of temperature controllers, Omega CN 7823 s.  The Protocol of communication for them is RS485 Modbus ASCII or RTU.

I had a bit of trouble getting a job of communicating.  I think I do everything correctly in terms of setting up the initial communication parameters (baud rate, parity, etc.), but have been unable to properly read the values.  I am able to write values to operating records, but cannot read them.  When I try to read (using the code 03), the result is simply a multiple of 256 (if I try to read registry 1001 H, which is 4097 in decimal form, I get a result of 256).

I'm running in ASCII at a speed of 9600, 7-bit data length, parity and 1 stop bit.

Any help would be appreciated - I am attaching my VI and the manual of the controller.

In the end it turned out that I had to create a property node to the VISA Instrument and specify the mode series RS-485/2-Auto.  This allowed the computer read the response from the controllers of temperature instead of simply reading the message that was sent to them.  I wish I had discovered this day 1, 2 or 3 to work on this problem, instead of the day 5.

  • How to manage the threads for TCP communication?

    Hello

I have a project to control two separate applications (C++ and LabView) and two of them are implemented as server. Another client program (C++) is used to control applications. Communication between them are implemented using TCP socket. The client program sends the message to start or stop tasks on servers. The client program also sends time (HH) with the message start and end to determine when to start or stop.

Application in C++ (server): Listening to the request for the connection and when gets one, it creates a thread of communication allowing to manage this and listen again to another connection. Communication wire crossing of handles and messages when it receives a start or a stop message, it creates a thread of timer with the received time to trigger a task at the time specified. And after that he expects the client message. So, here, when the thread (communication, timer) is necessary, it is created.

In LabView (server): I tried to create the same as the C++ server. But, in manual of LabView and other discussions of the forum, I got that LabView is multithreaded and it can be done with the help of the loop independent. So, I had to create four loops in a diagram:

    1. wait the new connection

2 manage the communication for the already received connection

    3. start the timer

    4 stop the timer

and they are executed at the beginning of execution and communication between them are managed using local variables. But, 2, 3 and 4th loop can handle only one connection and it can handle another if the current is closed. The C++ application can handle multiple connections by creating the thread when it is necessary, but not at the beginning of the application.

Is there a better way to implement this in LabView?

Is it possible to manage multiple connections and create the diagram node/block (such as a wire) dynamically as C++?

    Thank you.

There are several ways to do so in modern LabVIEW and you should probably seek the Finder example for TCP examples. The classic is to transfer the refnum of connecting the listening loop in a communications loop that adds to an array of login credentials and then constantly iterates through this array to make the communication. He works on LabVIEW 4.0 perfectly for me even for applications with basic HTTP communication protocol. But you must make sure that the communication for a connection is not delaying his work for reasons that would delay the handling of other connections too, because they are really of course worked on sequentially. If you encounter an error, the connection ID is closed and removed from the table.

The other is that create you a VI that makes your entire communication and ends on an error or when the order quite. Make this reentrant VI and then launch it through VI server as the instance home, passing the refnum of newly received connection form the listening loop. Then use the method to Run let start and operate as an independent thread.

For all these, you should be able to find an example in the example Finder when searching for TCP.
