PS5000e member offline - seeing clear status?

We have a problem with our SAN PS5000e.  It is not a critical feature and we are moving out of it, but we need to do online if possible.

This morning, the Member went completely offline.  I can connect via the web INTERFACE, but it just says: member offline.  Connection to CLI shows the same thing.  All CLI commands are run very slowly, and sometimes I get warnings like: "demon Logger lose messages because the disks offline are generating more events that the demon can handle."

Unit is in a datacenter 500 miles away, so I had hands send me some photos of it.  Watch a disc orange, remaining 15 discs all have green lights, so the failed drive shouldn't have caused to go down.

See the recentevents returns nothing.

On the back of the unit, everything seems fine except for amber next to a label with a wavy line (possible power problem?).  Photo below:

Before we get too much further with Act I would like to know what this light means if possible.

Thanks for any help!

Hello Teja,

In the future, it is best to create a new topic vs change an existing one.

From your description, it seems that both tables are in different basins.  Is this correct?   For example are the volumes offline?

If this isn't the case, then it seems that everyone is alone in its own pool.  In this case, you can remove the Member failing without impacting member2.   Member1 will reset to the factory settings.

You are running very old firmware, and I suspect maybe old firmware of drive as well.

It is very important to follow both.  Some updates of the firmware of player prevented a premature failure.

Kind regards

Don

Very difficult with discoloration and uncomfortable sight see. Something 20 mm wide and 20 mm of height would be a good start to improve this.

  • I don't see the status bar at the bottom of the screen. How can I get that back?

Something has changed. The status bar disappeared. The only way I seem to be able to leave Firefox is to close.

First of all, you can check that Firefox is not in his view full screen where the Windows task bar is hidden. The F11 key toggles between the normal modes and full screen.

If Firefox hides the taskbar of Windows in normal mode, a file that stores the dimensions of Windows Firefox may be damaged. If you are not able to resize the window manually, you can delete this file for Firefox back to its original size.

    To try to manually resize:

Press Alt + space to display the system menu of the Firefox window, and then click the size (or press S) and press the arrow down once, then the arrow upwards once. This will usually move the bottom of the Firefox window to the visible area of the screen. If it is not visible, try pressing the arrow upwards several times, or for a while. To complete the editing of size, press ENTER.

If the window is maximized, then size is grayed out. This is normal, and this method won't help.

    To delete the settings file:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

You can activate missing bars (menus, toolbar bookmarks bar) using the list on the toolbar, which you can view by using one of the following:

    • Right-click on a zone empty of the tab bar, or click the "+" button on the tab bar
    • Press the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar, and then view > toolbars
    • on the Customize tab, use the button "show/hide Toolbar" (controls, buttons, and Toolbars Customize Firefox)

    Any improvement?

  • Visible data VMFS store on 3 of the 6 armies. 3 the remaining hosts see LUNS, status is mounted, but the data store is not visible.

As the title suggests, all hosts see LUNS... can't understand the question. Here is a shot of the vmkernel.log captured from the server, as it was a new analysis (which translates into a loop of activity in the log file and hard + 10 minutes without change for storage).

The SAN is preesnting LUN and successfully... so it must be on the host side. In an act of desperation, yesterday I reinstalled ESXi on a troubled host. He was able to see the data stores. Today, they were more visible.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Can not see clearly the content of the area from the top of the window of Firefox (Mac) because of the colorful background. How to make it solid (gray, for example)

On my desktop Mac, the edges of window and the border are gray. On my laptop, there is a background sky blue - as in the top of the window of Firefox and a translucent version of the same through the bar where web addresses are registered and the search criteria. I have a very hard time to see the superior information because of this. I want a background gray (or white) standard. I can't find any Mac preferences or preferences of Firefox that address this issue.

You may have installed a light theme (Persona).
You can uninstall this theme and go back to the default theme (Tools > Modules > appearance/themes).

  • Producer Folio: cannot see the status option 'Public '.

I created a folio to Folio Producer Help: Organizer. I'm at the point where I need to publish.  When I get to 'Status' in the folio, it says it's 'private '. I would like to change this to 'Public', but does not display the drop down field, so I can't select it. Is this normal?  What should I select 'Public' to move forward with the creation of the application through Viewer generator?

Publication in the Public is only available if you have a DPS Professional and Enterprise Subscription. If you want to publish a single publishing application, publish it as a private and then export the producer Folio .zip file, import this file while building the app in the generator of spectator.

    * Note: If you have a professional or business license, then that id is not configured with your DPS account.

  • My screen background color has changed and it is difficult to see things clearly in Windows Explorer.

    screen background color

My screen background color took a deep blue tint which is whenever I visit a Web site, or windows Explorer. Therefore, it is difficult to see clearly. All solutions?

    Hello Richardtopping

Here is a list of steps to change not only the color of office, but the background as well. You can also view this information from the listed source here.

    Change your desktop background (wallpaper)

Your wallpaper (also called wallpaper) can be a digital picture from your personal collection or one that comes with Windows. You can also select a color for your background or use a color to frame your background image.

Windows comes with a lot of background choice of screen
    To change the wallpaper

    1. Open the wallpaper by clicking on the button start , by clicking on Control Panel, appearance and customization, personalization, and then clicking desktop wallpaper.

    2. Click on the image or color you want for your desktop background.

If the image you want to use is not in the list of background images to display, click the location of the image downwards arrow to view other categories, or click Browse to find the picture on your computer. When you find the image of your choice, double-click it. It will become your desktop wallpaper and appear in the list of desktop backgrounds.

    1. Search for photos in other locations on your computer
    2. Under how the image must be positioned, choose to have the picture to fit the screen, tile, or being centered on the screen and then click OK.

    Note

If you choose to have a picture centered as your wallpaper, you can also have a color background to frame your picture. Under How should be placed the image, click on change the background color, click a color, and then click OK.

    Tip

You can make an image stored on your computer (or a picture you are currently viewing) your desktop background by right-clicking on the image, then click on set as wallpaper.

Right click on an image to set it as the desktop background
  • Remove a member of a group/pool offline

We have two units of PS400e in a pool, one of them has failed several months ago.  After working for several hours with tech support we finally gave up and just recovered data that we had of the Ribbon, then rebuilt the virtual machines, we lost.  'Good' unit was removed from the Group Manager and reconfigured and then added back to today, but the unit that failed cannot be removed from the Group Manager.

At this point I need to remove the group system so I can reconfigure hardware and add it back in.  I tried this in the GUI interface today and received an error message about removing a member offline and "contact technical support."

I placed the necessary technical support call, but I do not think that the technician has understood what I'm trying to do.  The unit may not be used at this stage because we cannot reconfigure and pool sees it as 'offline '.  All I want to do is delete the instance of Workgroup Manager so that I can factory reset it and add it to the group, and then reconfigure our pools so that we are not extending data through both units longer.

Does anyone know a way to remove the 'offline' unit from the Group Manager, so I can reuse the system name and IP addresses?

I've seen this before and short of eliminating all the members and then reset to the last remaining unit, the only way to do needs help, support.

Ask them to do a session remotely on your desktop and show them the group leader. If all goes well, helping them to understand the problem.

  • How to see the two Windows 7 battery status

I have a few computers laptops xp that use two batteries where I work. We are very mobile with our computers.  And on Window XP, I wouldoften check the individual status of each battery on XP by going to Control Panel--> Power Options. Then, there is a tab that says Power Meter. There he would show details for each battery. Sometimes one is bad and the other is good so I don't want to replace the two.

In Windows 7, I found that I can see the total charge, by going to the control panel Windows Mobility Center. He shows me the total % of the available battery and I'm fine with that except that I would like to see how he gets the total of the two batteries.  Does anyone know how I can see a status when a laptop / Tablet has two batteries?

    Thank you

  • printer says offline on my HP Photosmart C4380

I have a HP Photosmart C4380 and I have problems with it being offline. I followed all of the steps this site told me to do and it remains offline. When I run the diagnostic utility program, he is told that he is online and told me everything is ok, this clearly isn't. Does anyone have any other suggestions out there? Please keep in mind, that I'm not a geek so simply word of language very much appreciated! Thank you.

    Hello

    Start by downloading this tool.

    http://h20180.www2.HP.com/apps/NAV?h_pagetype=s-926&h_lang=en&h_client=s-h-E016-1&h_keyword=DG-NDU&JumpID=ex_r4155/HHO/IPG/ccdoc/network_diag/

    Sound network diagnstic tool.

Let it run and if that said also that no problem, it could be some kind of security software blocking the connection of programs to the printer that it cannot see the status. Let me know exactly what this tools.
