• PSE 7 help!

  I downloaded a newer version of the EP of 5 to 7. Initially my photos were not coming in the Organizer. I called adobe and told to 'Get Photos' as if I had to take my camera, but search and select all files under my pictures.  I did, and then he asked me if I wanted to import all the tags/keywords to Version 5. I selected all and said yes.

  Problem #1 - listed tags are not sorted correctly and have a lot of pictures of them. (e.g. susie should be rated in people, then family, then susie and so forth, and some tags are not ones I created)

  Problem #2 - clock at the bottom of the screen is still ongoing and has been about 2 1/2 hours with a message "Generate thumbnails"... must it yet go and once it stops with will difficulty my tags/keywords and leave everything as I had in version 5?

  A note: I currently have about 25K photos in PSE... If this can explain some things.

  Adobe gave you the wrong answer (typical, unfortunately).

• Why can't PSE 14 read a Canon EOS 5 d Mk iv raw CR2 file?

  I just bought a new Canon EOS 5 d Mk iv and I both CC 2015 and PSE 14. I've updated PS using CC and LR.  LR, PS and bridge now read EOS 5 d Mk iv raw files fine, but PSE 14 has not although he reads very well to pictures of EOS D5 Mk iii.

  in PSE 14 help/subject/Camera Raw = version 9.5.0.585 and

  Help/updates = your applications are up to date

  What should I do to make it work?

  ACR there two versions running simultaneously - a PSE 14 and one for LR and PS?

  You say that bridge can read your raw files so do you try a right click on the image and choosing PSE14 Editor?  See this picture:

• Novice, need help PSD vs JPEG

  I am changing to PSE8 to PSE12 and made 12 today PSE12 automatically saves pictures published in PSD format where PSE8 them saved in JPEG format.  I do not use the organizer for catalogs, rather open folders where I saved my photos (e.g. Christmas 2013) and edit the photos that I like in PSE8 and then by recording their return in this same folder.  It may be the "right" way, but it works for me.  The image that I tried to use PSE12, recorded in PSD format which is not visible in these folders (windows image viewer is the default).  I really only use PSE to improve photos I like and want to share/send, use as my background of desktip, post on Facebook and print for myself or gifts via downloading a photo printing service (Mpix, Wal-Mart, etc.)  Is it possible to have default PSE12 offering in JPEG or should I be saving as PSD?  I get this PSD only works with the PS and takes more space, but is not the loss of the quality of the images the way JPEG don't ~ I'm not sure it's important that the way I use PSE.  Help for a novice?

  Save a PSD as a JPEG file is really a good habit to get into. Just in case you don't like what the picture looks like once the recorded sound, you can return in photoshop by loading up the PSD and edit cursors or layers or anything else where as when you register for a jpeg all layer information is lost because it essentially "flattens" the layers into a single image. If it makes no sense at all.

  As I do is I have a folder that contains my PSD and then my JPEG saved in the folder where you would look at the pictures. For example, in your folder my pictures, I have a folder called PSD and a folder called Christmas.

  Went a little overboard with some 'household' and moved the PSE 6 Help Viewer to the trash. DOH!

  Anyone know which directory it is up, so I put it back?

  Adobe Help Viewer will just in the folder of the application to the next level.

• PSE11 on Mac: area of selection for the dark discoloration.  All the patches?

  Recently begun to encounter a problem in PSE11.  When I select an area of an image using the rectangle or lasso, the area I selected immediately melted in the dark.  Change the area of selection makes it visible again for a moment, then he vanished again.  I know that the underlying image is not affected, because I can apply changes (filters, etc.), and the image returns to normal when I deselect.  However, it's more complicated image editing.  I'm on a MacBook Pro under Snow Leopard (10.6.8).  I also use Lightroom 4 and have defined as external PES Editor.

  I uninstalled and reinstalled the PSE, which helped for a while, but the problem came back.  Here is a video of what happens on an empty image file.

  Can anyone allows you to identify the problem or offer solutions?

• Transfer my daughter computer catalogue

  My daughters and I use PSE9.  I have a great family ancestry catalog I want to convey to them.  They both have their own PES catalogues with their family photos.  So I want to give them my catalog of descent that would create a 2nd catalog that they would have access to slot their program post-secondary.

  I'm not sure about the best way to make this transfer so that they will have 2 separate catalogs that they can open independently.  My thought is to lend them my external hard drive that contains the backup of my EPS file.  Then they connect my external drive to their computers and start a restore of an external hard drive of their own operation.  If I understand this process, that the action would create a new catalog (catalogue of my ancestry) on their external hard drive.  They would open PSE, then select the catalog they want open, date at which they would be presented with choice of 2 - 1) open their family catalogue or 2) open my catalog of family ancestry on their external hard drive.

  This procedure works, or is there a better way to do it?

  This is exactly the procedure to use.  The only thing I would add, it is when they restore the catalog for the backup, they will also write the real media on their hard drive external files, so make sure they have more than enough space for it.

  Added:

  Once everything is confirmed to work OK, they could consider to use the Organizer to move the catalog on their internal drive for performance reasons.  The real images would remain on their DHM.

• Brush newly defined is not an available choice

  I use 10 items and was trying to create a new brush of my signature.  I completed all the steps - making the Edit > brush set and registration [hitting OK].

  Then, when you try to apply the signature/brush I hit B, and whereas it is at the bottom of the brushes by default selections - it isn't here.  If I'm going to make a new one when I get to the 'selection brush set' there is a miniature of the brush until I created with number [2500].  Even if I touched just OK and essentially save it again... I can't when you try to use the Brush tool.

  I looked at all the categories of predefined parameters and he's not here.  I stopped and restarted PSE nothing helps.

  Can anyone provide some assistance?  Thank you

  A newly created brush should be the last in the game of brush that is open and in which you have registered.

  I have susupect that the canvas was too great when you did the brush. This tutorial requires the size of 300 x 330 px

  I'm new in the PSE and encoutert as a result of problem trying to change the icon for some of my keyword already assigned tags. The PSE statement help says:

  By default, Photoshop Elements creates an icon for a keyword in the first photo to which you attached the tag...

  Select the tag in the tags tab key word Panel organize.

  Click on the new button , then select Edition menu.

  Click the icon change in the dialog box change the tag Keyword.

  that doesn't work in my case, when I assign a picture (icon) to a label of keyword for the first time. If I try to change the icon later according to the above procedure, it does not work because the button ""edit icons " is grayed out."

  The tag you created using facial recognition?  A bug in PSE prevents you from changing the picture of these tags.

  You open iPhoto or organizer? If the latter; Check your configuration. During your installation, make sure you select the application, and not an alias (shortcut). Go to this link.

  Downloaded and installed fine. Organizer opens but wants to update the evry time it opens. Editor has me sign in, then accept the EULA and then nothing happens. Is there a problem between Windows 10 and 13 of the PSE?

  After that it's updated, open organizing items. Go to help > updates and install the updates from there.

  Now let's see if you get the update dialog box again when you launch the elements Organizer.

  Make sure that you are logged on the Adobe site, having cookies enabled, clearing your cookie cache.  If it fails to connect, try to use another browser.

  This Image capture program is really good. I didn't know I had it. you just go to publicize and search "image capture" on your mac. It has more features that I made.

  including the size of resolution and scan scan. Once the latter is analysed, a window opens with the new file in there. just, you double-click the file and opens right in photoshop elements.
