  Was asked to re-design of our QA here environment to the company that I work... It is a gesture of challenge will be a heavy task to accomplish... But currently, we have a whole list of requirements that must be met. We plan on using VMware to facilitate the provision of virtual machines on the side things Wintel and we also AIX in the backend for database for Oracle Rack servers, etc... The question I have to ask the community is... How is your configuration of the QA environment as in your business? What is current tread? Completely isolated? Create a subdomain in your current production environment and mix the two together that could be scary for me?  What is the best practice to implement appropriate QA environment before placing the code or upgrade software before he hits the production as a security guard? The other challenge also lies in the AIX servers and they cannot be updated as easily and quickly as VM servers.

  Please check if you are facing the same question when working in mode safe mode with networking.
  a. restart your computer.

  Welcome to Oracle Forms!  Out of curiosity, what do you mean by 'new '?  You are a student or new to an organization that uses Oracle Forms?  Or just play with Oracle Forms to learn something new?

  Let me start by saying that many of your questions designtime can answer by searching in the help of the constructor of the form library.  It's accessible, like most of the other products in the Builder menu > help.

  Regarding your question, ENTER QUERY mode, as the term implies, is when it is in a State where it is accept input for the execution of a query.  When in this mode, there are various restrictions.  Yet once, it will find more details in the Builder Help.  In this case, search help for these two subjects, "SYSTEM." MODE'and "built-ins comments that are not allowed in the input query Mode".  There are many other pages that contain information about the ENTER_QUERY method, but these two should help you get started.

  Normal mode, as its name implies, is when it is in a State of 'normal '.  Basically to do nothing in particular, but also not in ENTER QUERY mode.  In this State, you can move the shape, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, documents, etc..

  What Keith said, to be more precise, you can install the same version of Lightroom for which you have a serial number.

  If you want to change the version say LR 4 to 5 LR, you will have to pay for the upgrade.

  The book is related to the exam 1z0-051. I'm not sure it's the best way to learn SQL from scratch. However, since once you know a little SQL book is useful, though sometimes, some might say t make sure that you get enough practice.

  Don't worry in the short term. There is a review of SQL, you may want to consider longer term (1z0-047), but which is advanced. ISBN-13: 978 - 0071498500 probably apply the material (but does not focus on the review... maybe it's a good thing).

  Oracle is resource intensive; and more as it increases version numbers.

  10g XE [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/xe/index.html] is perfect, EXCEPT that it is 10g 11g not and cannot indicate features of 11g but its greate from the manageability perspective.

  11 GR 1 material has a much higher footprint, but course has all the features.

  Unfortunately, it's a choice s one or the other. and historically the windows uninstaller can be an ightmare.

  I think that I must really be suggesting you look at virtualization - example: [http://www.virtualbox.org/] to run Oracle 10 g XE at first... but then again I am not sure if I'm over complicating things and have not tried it myself.

  Versions of the database newever and reviews using the SQL syntax that is no longer compatible with ansi standards more late especially in the use of the joins of tables in my humble OPINION.

  At the point where the database is out of service and portion of memory dead it is to say the instance is there, no normal user and/or the dba user is allowed to log on. At that time, only the superuser, system is allowed to log on and it should start the database to other users to connect to it.
  For the user Sys to connect, there may be two ways, you can be using operating system authentication which requires underlying to authenticate your log in. The other may be using file password that contains the password for the Sys user and is created using Orapwd util. using these two techniques, you can connect to oracle as user Sys while the instance is available.

  There is a DC environment, hosted on IBM Blade servers, they have different OS, the OS is IBM AIX Power 6 which hosts an Oracle database.

  We provide a DC recovery site using Cisco UCS servers, prior to that, I want to be certain of the points below:

  1. IBM AIX power 6 compatibility with CISCO UCS servers?
  2. If we decided to choose CISCO UCS blade servers, what are the limits to the virtaulization?
  3. If virtualize us both environments, the current domain controller and the new DR, what kind of limitations we may face in terms of features of virtuatization?

  Power 6 is the IBM hardware archtitecture chip; UCS is based on the Intel chip at 100%.

• error in aix oracle 10 g 2 DB agent deployment

  Just started to use Grid Control. I've got 10.2.0.5 Grid Control running on a windows xp test installation.
  
  Works ok.
  
  However trying to run a deployment of the MA in an aix (5.3) server running a 10.2.0.4 DB, I get an error that I can't understand.
  
  Set up the SSH between the boxes and trying to deploy across the deployment > install agent > new installation all withdrew with the connection test section. However when running the prereq test it is a failure.
  
  I'm running the installation with the oracle (not running root.sh script) user-defined. It fails with exit code 9 indicating that
  
  "error: cannot open zipfile [/ patches/ADATMP_2009-09-18_10-49-36-AM/agentpush_appprereqs.jar] unzip: cannot find patches/ADATMP_2009-09-18_10-49-36-AM/agentpush_appprereqs.jar, /patches/ADATMP_2009-09-18_10-49-36-AM/agentpush_appprereqs.jar.zip, or patches/ADATMP_2009-09-18_10-49-36-AM/agentpush_appprereqs.jar.ZIP."
  
  It seems trying to decompress this file agentpush_appprereqs.jar. Now, if I try to start the deployment with the root user it gets more but it will fail since im using root and Yes cannot run with this user (which I understand)
  
  Looking at the directories on the aix server the file agentpush_appprereqs.jar exists - but there is no permission set. This makes me think that it is a permissions issue since the root is able to decompress this file.
  
  Comparing the temporary directories that are created during deployment of the agent, I see that, install it with the root, is unpacking agentpush_appprereqs.jar there are more files in the temp directory has while in the oracle installation there are fewer files even if agentpush_appprereqs.jar exists. Hope it makes sense.
  
  My question is bad where I put permissions? Why EM control Grid deploys the file with no permission?
  
  My understanding is that I don't have sudo installed to allow the oracle user get for the root user, unless I wanted to run the root.sh script.
  
  Tried to fix this for a day now. Any advice welcome.
  
  O and the user has the appropriate permissions for the /patch dir oracle I try to install the agent too many files.

• Cannot download the app purchased on new MBP - open only from MAS

  Hi all

  I bought the best 9 rename via the App Store, which has been installed on my previous MBP.

  On my new MBP, I managed to install all the applications previously purchased - except this one. And it is a strange situation - it appears in my list of purchased Apps, but the only option is OPEN.

  The application itself is not on my MBP anywhere. But when I click on OPEN in the App Store, the app opens indeed and I can use it.

  Is it possible to force an option of re - download? Or, does anyone have any ideas how/why this could happen?

  It's somewhere on your computer. When it is open, Ctrl-click in the Dock, choose options, and then view it in the Finder, and then either throw away or mounted Spotlight to not index the folder that it was from the Spotlight from system preferences pane.

• My system crashed, I reinstalled Windows 7, now Microsoft asks that I purchase a new license

  Built my own computer and bought Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  Installed it and everything went well.  I installed a software that eventually crashed my system, I did a clean install of my Windows 7 Pro.  Now MS tells me that I have to buy a new license.  He thinks that my old installation is done on another computer (I've added a new material since - maybe if I get out?).
