Push to BIS and BES

Hi all

I have developed an application using the Blackberry push service growing public listening.  This works surprisingly well on the regular devices.  However, when I tried the same application on a device that is registered to a company BES, she does not receive push messages in my application.

Is there something I need to do to activate a device on a BES to listen to these messages?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See you soon,.

G.

It works very well if this device a BIS BES service books. If it's a single BES device then you need create a second version of your application specifically for these devices of BES.

Is could someone please tell me what do these letters mean?

  • Smartphones blackBerry BIS, BES, BIS and BES, what is the difference?

Can someone please explain the difference between:

    BIS, BES, BIS & BES

and how do I determine what I have?

BIS = BlackBerry Internet Server.  This is used for your personal (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo) email and your email with your carrier (Sprint, Verizon, AT & T, etc.)

= BlackBerry Enterprise Server BES.  It comes to your company's server and this is where your work email would be set up to.

  • Push on the wifi notification will detect the BIS or BES

    Hello

I joined the push RIM services and I have succedded receive the push in my application when BIS or BES is enabled.

Recently, I discovered that in some application like, WhatsApp, we can receive push notification when the wifi is enabled for the event blackberry sim card is not inserted in this phone (which means that no BIS or BES is enalbed).

We want this feature to our society.

Do you know what is the solution to receive the push on the wifi will detect the BIS or BES in the blackberry phone?

I'm sorry if my English is so bad.

Push requires BIS or BES. You must ask the developers of the application that you are using for more information on how they establish connections without pushing.

  • Pushing without BIS/BES

    Hi all

I am a prospective developer Blackberry works on my first BB app.

The application will receive the data of a service push third push as Xtify or urban airship. If possible, I would like to make it work on Webworks. I am little confused as to how all this works and my research has not really clarified anything, so I have a few questions:

    (1) what are the Blackberry services I send the push? For example, when registering for the app, urban airship and Xtify apparently must push it Essentials package. Do I need anything else? Push services deal with RIM?

    (2) is a specific Blackberry data plan (I guess they are BIS and BES) will perform the push works on 3 G? Besides, is 3G on Blackberry through BIS, or is it independent of it?

    (3) Will accept a Webworks app even pushes a third? Xtify nor urban airship say anything about working with Phonegap or Webworks. Two examples for urban airship and Xtify are for Blackberry Java and seem to require registration with the urban airship or Xtify application. The Webworks API has a method OpenPushListener(); is this all I need to start receiving leads them to my application?

Comments are welcome - thanks for your help!

    Hello

Let's start by discussing a little further: at its core is to push a XML load sent to the infrastructure of the RIM which is then sent down to the target BlackBerry smartphone. The transport of the unit is completely managed by the infrastructure of the RIM, so all you need to do is send the push.

No matter what language/service that can display XML data can send pulses

In order to receive the push, the device must have a BIS data connection

WebWorks applications can receive extensive data, the API documentation has information about how this can be done.

I hope things clears a bit, but if not just let me know.

  • Smartphones blackBerry BES/BIS and two phones

I have two phones, a BlackBerry "BOLD" and Apple Iphone 3g.  Is it possible to get my BES email on both phones.  Somedays I carry the BlackBerry "BOLD" and somedays I carry the Iphone 3 G.  Tips, ideas, advice or tips are welcome.

I have the BES/BIS on "BOLD" data packet and data package IPhone 3 g with Blackberry Connect for the mail of the company.

    Thanks in advance

If your company supports Activesync and BES so technically you should be able to synchronize two devices.  Simply enter the Exchange settings in the iPhone and you'll be ready to go.

  • Free Push to BIS service

    Dear Sir

After reading all of the sites mentioned in other posts here, I still wonder if there is a free Push service that can be used to push BIS.

Web signals are free? Or are the Essentials push free (what status as member of the alliance is necessary - made the adjustments of status recorded for the most part to push)?

Is the free browser Push (or is it the web signals)?

It would be great if someone could answer my questions.

    Best regards

    Bullety

    For other users:

I can't say anything about the web signals.

But most of the push is free and there is no need to be a member of the alliance, just for this and you will get your credentials.

This push essentials can be used with a java application on a device and the push may come from a server application written in almost every programming language that allows to send http requests.

  • Smartphones blackBerry BIS and OWA problem

Hello, I am the COMPUTER administrator for my company. I recently migrated our Windows Small Business Server 2003 with Exchange 2003 system to new hardware. We have a BlackBerry Curve 8530 that is configured to use BIS and OWA to get his e-mail on the BlackBerry.

Before the server migration, the BlackBerry smartphone has been able to send and receive email without problems. After migration, the unit can no longer send or receive e-mails. I tried to delete the account and add it again with the correct information and he added successfully. If I use deliberately false information he errors correctly, so I know that it's properly authenticate on my Exchange Server.

When I try to send an e-mail message to the device, the device indicates that the e-mail has been sent successfully. About 24 hours after sending the message, the device will indicate rather an error has occurred on this message and it says "general failure"... When I e-mail this user to internal and external addresses, electronic mail never gets sent to the device. About 24 hours after the first time, I added this email account to the device, he received a Blackberry message saying "this email account is not currently accessible by your BlackBerry device, so you can experience a delay in email delivery. This problem may be caused by a temporary problem with your email provider. BIS will continue trying to access that account. "I searched all over Google and can not find any information that helps me to solve these problems.

I am able to open that box mailbox in Outlook Web Access without any problem, our company intranet using the name of the server and the internet using our IP address from an external location. SSL is required, and I mention that by entering "https" in front of the address when I create the e-mail account on BIS.

I personally have not visited with the support of the Association, but the user of the device has brought the phone their twice and they claim that it is a problem on my end, but give no indication as to what could be the problem. I have checked OWA permissions/settings of the folder on the new server from the old server and have done my best to match to them, but it still does not work.

Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

EDIT - I forgot to mention that I tried to delete the service books and their removal, as well as the reinstatement of the device on the network. Neither seems to make a difference.

Follow-up in case someone else has this problem in the future:

The problem was that the name of the certificate that is installed on the new server was not the same as on the old server. No one that I spoke to anywhere (ASBL or RIM) could help me understand this, it was just something that I tried and it worked. I changed the name on the certificate to match what it was on the old server and then the Blackberry was immediately able to send and receive correctly by using BIS and OWA.

  • Confused about BB10 and BES PUsh

    Hello world

Today, our application side server is an HTTP Post to a preconfigured URL of BES and is capable of pushing an icon for a BB5, device 6 or 7 without any problems. The application server-side is not Java based and simply use an HTTP Post to make the push. Everything is fine and our clients are happy :-)

Now eagerly BB10, it seems that things have become much more complex.  Here's my understanding:

1 BES and MDS will not apply to BB10 devices since these devices will use the new service COMICS. This service will have an interface of type MDS, so we can do a big boost to the unit in question?

1a. If not, how can we push the BB10 device?

    1. b do we not have to write some kind of server Java or can we continue to use simple HTTP Post, as we do today with BB5, 6 and 7?

Remember, I'm only interseted in the BES (business devices) and not BIS sceanrio.

  • On BIS and public PPG for push notifications

    Hello!

My name is Christian and I'am really newb on everything concerning the mobile devolopment. However, I had to develop a server push initiator and a small client side app for testing and so.

Along the registration process for the Service Push, I received all the necessary info from RIM (url PPG, app ID, cp ID, password, etc.), but I have some doubts and questions.

One is related to a provider of content and PPG URL ID

    -What is http://cpXXX.pushapi.eval.blackberry.com for?

So far, I've tested. "pushapi.eval.blackberry.com" works well on the side of client or server. I mean, using this URL my initiator to push could send a notificacions and, on the other side, the client was able to register and recive notifications.

Which brings me to the next question... What should I do with a content provider ID (I don't even use it)?

I read that in production, PPG URL is something like '. http://cpXXX.pushapi.» BlackBerry.com".» (here make sense to me that content provider ID)

Another issue is that if this kind of URL is for server-side? Or is it just for the client side?

Lately our client we asked for the IP addresses and Ports of blackberry PPG because the Push Server Inititator will be located behind a firewall and they must activate just the IP address and Ports required. (white list)

We want to meet all you need to grow an initiator to connect Production PPG or PPG Eval.

    Ty a lot in advance!

PS: Sorry for my English. I'm working hard on it ;-)

    Hello

You use below url in Server Code

https://cpxxx.pushapi.na.BlackBerry.com  Please use CPID instead of xxx .

(for example if your cpid = 234 so now the url " https://cp234.pushapi.na.blackberry.com").

Note:-If you transfer evl in production can convert server-side and client-side detail below.

    Beside Server :-appid, password, url

    Client-side:-PUSH_PORT, BPAS_URL, APP_ID.
