Confused about BB10 and BES PUsh

Hello world

Today, our application side server is an HTTP Post to a preconfigured URL of BES and is capable of pushing an icon for a BB5, device 6 or 7 without any problems. The application server-side is not Java based and simply use an HTTP Post to make the push. Everything is fine and our clients are happy :-)

Now eagerly BB10, it seems that things have become much more complex.  Here's my understanding:

1 BES and MDS will not apply to BB10 devices since these devices will use the new service COMICS. This service will have an interface of type MDS, so we can do a big boost to the unit in question?

1a. If not, how can we push the BB10 device?

1. b do we not have to write some kind of server Java or can we continue to use simple HTTP Post, as we do today with BB5, 6 and 7?

Remember, I'm only interseted in the BES (business devices) and not BIS sceanrio.

  • BlackBerry Q10 Confusion with Q10 and BES vs data plan

    Hello

I've received three different types of information to Service the customer O2, O2 shop and my client who spoke thus to the O2.

Basically, my client is on a tariff of BES. She wants to update her phone and I have suggested Q10, but we are facing problems with the compatibility of the plans.

Apparently, if she gets Q10, she can't keep the BES rate as the phone is not compatible. What I don't understand is:

[a] if I buy a phone and put a SIM card, I get data (internet for email, bbm, internet) regardless of the model, without having to activate the Enterprise BES Activation. So technically I could buy Q10, keep the same rate, just don't enable the Activation of Enterprise BES and just use Active Sync?

[b] if I get a phone and enable users to email using the enterprise BES Activation, what data? Is BES process all incoming email differently, that is to say what is received in an email not included in the data plan or data is treated in the same way without activation?

[c] I thought that BES is simply to download contacts/calendars/emails, and set the phone based on the needs of the company but in a sense, that of what makes Active Sync, right?

I would be eternaly Grateful if someone could explain this in simple English because I feel like my head's going to explode. :/

    Thank you!

    (a) Yes.

    (b) BlackBerry10 devices must be on a server BES10 or later.

    (c) download no.. Synchronize calendars/contacts/emails - Yes, and much much much more, which allows some Admins BES/BES10 set controls, to push policies to the unit, place tighten security on the device.

  • Very CONFUSED about invalidation and last_load_time from v$ sql.

    Hi all.

I'm very confused on the definitions of column of v$ sql.
The oracle is envirenment 10.2.0.4 RAC 3-node.

The following comes from gv$ sql.

    --------------
    INST_ID select sql_id, child_number out.
    hash_value, plan_hash_value,
    first_load_time, last_load_time, loads, invalidations
    SGS $ t sql
    where 1 = 1
    and sql_id = "5hnvqby4tyvt9."
    /

    1 5hnvqby4tyvt9 0 2308927273 1898129466 2011-07-17/07: 45:00 2011-07-17/07: 45:00 1-0
    2 5hnvqby4tyvt9 0 2308927273 1898129466 2011-07-17/07: 51:18 2011-07-25/06: 9 1 30:07

    ---------------
    1. no changes are object-definition related to the tables in the query of '5hnvqby4tyvt9 '.

    2. currently, the sql in the nodes 1 and 2 has the same PLAN_HASH_VALUE.

    3. in nodes 1 and 2, the sql has been loaded in the library cache,
    2011-07-17/07: 45:00 and 2011-07-17/07: 51:18 respectively.

    4. However, last_load_time differs from the other.
    -the node 1: last_load_time is ' 2011-07-17/07: 45:00 ' and invalidations is 0.
    -node 2: last_load_time's ' 2011-07-25/06: 30:07 ' and invalidations is 9.

    ---------------

    My question is:

    1. What is the difference in last_load_time between node 1 and node 2?

    2. What is the difference made in disqualifications between node 1 and node 2?

3 I know, that when it changed the definition of table, sql cursor becomes invalid.
However, there was no change in the definitions of the query table.

What could make a child cursor in the cache library not valid?

    4. According to the manual of oracle
    (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/dynviews_2113.htm#REFRN30246),

LAST_LOAD_TIME means 'time in which the query plan (memory segment 6) has been loaded in the library cache'

However, the plan_hash_value 1-node and node-2 has the same value,
even if the child in node-2 sql cursor has been re-charge 9 times since the first loading in the library cache.

    What it means?

    ------

    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards.

parts of the cursor (mainly the lot 6, the execution plan) can age due to pressure of space

When 'PARTS' of a cursor has become aged because of the pressure of space,
It increases the number of invalidation count(v$sql)?

    Yes.

In addition, in the case above (parts of a cursor have become aged because of the pressure of space in the library cache),
the update of last_load_time(v$sql) does not always mean "sql plan of change."

    Is this good?

Hmmm, let me think for a moment. I think it's always true when we see invalidations, it's the SQL Plan, which has been invalidated. This is not to say that the plan changed, however. You could get a plan struck down for trivial reasons, say, a grant or revoke them on a table. After that, on reload, the plan that is generated can be identical to the regime that had just been invalidated.

    Hope that helps,

  • Confused about PPP and the size of the final image

I'm new to Lightroom that are a lot and I try to understand how Lightroom uses pixels and determines the size of an image with a magnifying glass.  My RAW images are 3872 x 2592, 10.2 million pixels.  For a magnifying glass, I suppose Lightroom chooses a PPD that corresponds to my monitor for options FIT or FILL.  But how it determines the size of the image to display when you use a report of zoom, say 1:1.  I feel that 1:1 is the size of the actual image.  But what is this size?  When I use 1:1, the preview in the Navigator Panel displays a zoom that is only about 1/9th of the image in the center of the image.  Is it just defaults to 72 DPI for the ratio 1:1 zoom displayed or is - it something else? Another related question is what Lightroom when I export an image of say 300 PPI and resize the image to a size that would be greater than the number available pixels at 300 PPI?  Just asked for my RAW images, 300 DPI can support only 8.6 x 12.99 inches.  What's Lightroom if I select 20 x 30 inches and 300 PPI?

    Thanks, Mike

DPI is Dot Per Inch. A printer can take a 300 PPI image, and for each pixel, it could drop 4 points, meaning that the 300 PPI image when printing is 1200 dpi, but really I never worry about DPI. And you shouldn't worry about DPI either.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I am new and confused about things 'connection '.

I am a new BlackBerry - I have a Curve 8320, I am a small business owner, and I'm not connected to a BES. I use the BB Desktop Manager to synchronize with Outlook and to back up my BB and I did pretty well on most things, but I have still a few things that I leave me puzzled. In this forum, I will ask my "questions of confusion" about data options.

I have a data plan "pay as you go" with AT & T, my provider, because there is practically no cell reception at home where I work. (I not use my BB for email since I was at my computer most of the time). I have a home network set in place and I have incorporated a router that supports wireless. I have connected a netbook to the wireless network and used to surf the Internet, so I know that my wireless connection works. I also managed to create a wireless connection on my BB to this network and on the home screen, it appears the name of my wireless network when I am here at home, so, I know that the device is connected to my network.

BUT I don't think that I'm really using my home wireless network... I tried the other day browsing the Internet, and then AT & T told me that I hired data charges - I thought that I should not have if I wasn't using their network. Either I am wrong all assuming that they don't charge me if I use my network or I have something set up properly on my BB... someone can provide some guidance?

Then, I don't really understand what BIS... I searched through the KB and couldn't find something that sets actually BIS... could someone please explain what BIS?

Finally, can someone please explain the difference between "mobile network" and "wi - fi"? Apparently, if I disable "mobile network" I have no connection at all, including wi - fi. Is that the way things should be? But, I can turn off wi - fi and always get a connection (if I go out too far from my house, South possible and face).

Thank you... and now I'm leaving the Forum of BB Desktop Manager to ask some questions here!

Thanks to all who responded... I now have a much better understanding of the work of the whole thing "data". I disabled my LAN connection, which should avoid all charges. The part that confuses me the most, is that AT & T said would not have to pay to use my own wi - fi, but... it doesn't seem to be the case. So, McDonald's and Starbucks will work very well for me.

  • Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for RAW files. I have 8.7 DNG, but I was wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon thanks for all the tips

Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for RAW files. I have 8.7 DNG, but I was wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon thanks for all the tips

Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced in the last version of LR 5.7 and ACR 8.7 Novemder 18 2014.

New updates for LR 4 were arrested when LR 5 was released on June 9, 2013. No other updates of bug fixes and new camera support.

Nada, LR 4 will never support Nikon D750. The Nikon D750 was introduced on the market in September 2014 some 15 months after further development of LR 4 was arrested.

You can use the Adobe DNG (free download for packing) program to convert your Nikon D750 Nef (raw) files in Adobe's DNG format which will allow you to import those into LR 4. This is the crutch provided by Adobe to allow the processing of raw files with versions out-of-date LR and ACR.

You can also update the ACR for PS CS6 version 8.7 plugin that can also work with the raw files of the D750. For direct support in Lightroom, you will need to upgrade (paying) to version 5.7.

  • Confused about autonomous OBIEE and OBIEE integrated this two Architecture

    Hello

I'm confuse about autonomous OBIEE and OBIEE integrated this model two...

Are these two situation based on the same application (and then after that install US based on the standalone OBIEE, BI applications it become integrated model)

or are they two separate applications but integrated OBIEE this model can support BI applications?

    Kind regards

    Anne

    Hi Anne,.

    It's the difference,

Autonomous OBIEE - has no any solution of BI preconstruitse, we build the solution based on our requirement with the suite of products.

Integrated OBIEE or OBI Apps - are built on standalone. It provides this stand-alone version features all, moreover, it has predefined solutions.

  • Portege Z30T - Confused on partitions and recovery methods

A few weeks ago, I bought a new PORTEGE Z30T-A PT24CE and upgraded to Microsoft Windows OS Version 8.1 Pro 6.3.9600 with its CDs. (it came with Windows 7 pre-installed)

I have two questions that confuse me:

1-) first of all, I got the laptop I upgraded to 8.1 win by a DVD burner. And I remember this time, he made a picture to copy at the end of the Windows installation. And then another reason I reset phone option "DELETE EVERYTHING AND REINSTALL WINDOWS. But SSD partition recovery recovery (since I don't use any DVD).

My first question is: does make a difference to reset the PC from DVD of the TOSHIBA (which takes longer) than the reset of the image on the hard drive. I ask because if there is difference, I'll try new DVD reset.

2-) when I check 256 GB SSD disk management I see the following disk partition (check the image below):
    [partition|postimg.org/image/57i99hsgr/]

Here, there are the OEM partition and the recovery Partition. What is the difference between these two? Should I have them both? They occupy too much space each more than 8 GB.

    In regard to point 1)

What software did you use to create the image after the update 8.1 Win?

The fact is that the Toshiba recovery image was preinstalled on the laptop and recover the laptop using the recovery media (disk or USB key) or by using the procedure of recovery Toshiba HDD would reset the computer laptop back to the factory settings; on the same State as at the first day of the purchase.

If you want to use another method of recovery or image, you reset draw the laptop to the State when the image was created.

    In regard to point 2)
Unfortunately, somehow the link to the screenshot does not work
However, as I said above: the Toshiba HDD recovery procedure redefines the laptop to factory settings and the recovery of image files is placed on a separate partition.
This partition is very important to perform HARD drive recovery and create additional recovery media.
This was the case for pre-installed Win 7 OS!

The other partition may be created by Windows system after Win 8.1 install.
I'm also a little confused about the image created...
It would also be possible that this OEM partition is related to the image that you created after the installation of Win 8.1.

In any case... it would be useful to know all the steps you did the upgrade...

by the way: I also recommend you read some threads/posts on the topic of recovery here in the forum... This should help you understand the whole process

I installed Mass Effect for PC yesterday on my Windows 7 PC.

After the installation is complete, a popup opened asking me if I wanted to install Directx 9 .0c, as it was required for the game to run. I chose not to install it while I'm confused about Directx backward compatibility.

But I do not understand what the runtime needs to reach - it allows me to play the old Directx 9 .0c and previous games on my Windows 7 PC, but still be capable of Directx 10 and Directx 11 games as well?

One last thing - the Mass Effect system requirements say that my sound card must be compatible Directx 9 compatible .0c. How will I know that my sound card is compatible? I ran dxdiag but he didn't tell me whether or not my sound card is compatible.

An additional control point is a type of thread control point in part intended to avoid writing a large number of blocks online redo log switches. DBWn checks at least every three seconds to determine if he has to do. When DBWn written stamps Sales, it advances the position of the control point, causing CKPT write the position of the control point to the file control, but not for data file headers.

There are many types of control points. One that will be updated on the headers of data files would be a complete control and would be applicable to the entire base. The additional control point is induced to keep on enhanching a counter that would ensure that only certain limited stamp Sales would be recovering. That's why a moment of the additional control point, data file headers are not being updated. Control file is probably updated with a "pointer to disk" which mentions the point up to which the dirty buffers are written in files (from the buffer cache) data and where to start the recovery, if necessary. Log file switch will cause a thread control point which, for one instance, would be considered a Global checkpoint only. The additional control point would be for various other reasons such as setting a value for the parameter Fast_Start_Mttr_Target etc.

  • Confusion about the size of the array in Oracle 11 g

There is confusion about the size of a table. When exporting schema 'CRESTELWOMPRD601', the log file shows:

    SELECT nom_segment, BYTES / 1024 / 1024 "SIZE (MB)" FROM dba_segments where owner = 'CRESTELWOMPRD601' and nom_segment = 'TBLRSUBSCRIBERFIELDWORK. '

Dba_segments indicates the space allocated to the segment while expdp indicates the size of the exported data, so if you had a table with a measure of 1 MB, but no data, dba_segments would 1 MB and expdp would report 0 bytes.
