Put automatically the laptop to sleep when removed from the base?
Hello
Many members of our society are using portable computers. However they all use docking stations when in the office. Nature from home they all simply press the eject button on the docking station and put the laptop in their bag. As you know that the laptop stays on since there is no action in the Power Options, simply what happens when "I close the lid.
Some have killed cell phones in this process, it is recommended to put the computer to sleep manually start before removing from the dock menu and go about your day, but naturally not everyone follows this process.
So is my question there a framework built in Windows 7 that will put the computer to sleep automatically in case the laptop lid is closed under power and is suddenly disconnected from the power?
I have searched through ACPI configurations but came empty-handed.
Any help would be appreciated!
In addition, we are a boutique HP and use their cell phones of class business.
I think that implementing standby when the lid is closed so that hip will probably solve it. Unfortunately I can't imagine a way to detect if it is not connected to the dock because as much as I know Windows doesn't support that.
Apologies, I couldn't help-maybe someone knows if it is possible?

memory usage when removed from the scene
Hello
I was wondering what solution is best with regard to the use of the memory: to remove the component from the stage or to make null?
this.removeChild(myComponent);
or
this.myComponent = null;
I know that it depends on if I'm going to use this component in the future, and in my situation, the component will be used rarely.
Is a component that is removed from the scene, uses a lot of memory?
A component can use a bit less memory when not on stage. If you come
set to null without removing from the scene that it won't change your memory usage to
all. The only way to recover the memory is both out of the scene
and remove all other references to it.

The reason why I ask, is that if the hard drive is completely off then I'd feel sure put my laptop in its case and then walk with it (possibility of jerking around as if he were completely off), but if the hard disk is still spinning and then I don't want to treat it as if the computer is running.
essentially, this question is not whether my information is stored in memory or on the hard drive, what power I am saving, etc.. I just want to know, standby or hybrid sleep in windows vista on a portable computer, the hard drive always turns?
The hard drive (and monitor) turn off during the sleep or hibernation mode. The only thing is that some things can take the system into "sleep" or hibernation mode (some connectios network can do if configured to do so) how the hard drive and maybe the monitor turns on. If you pay attention to set up your power options and network options, this should not be a problem for you. Here's a great article on the problems of Power Options and Sleep Mode so that you can check to make sure that you have none of the problems listed and can be corrected if you: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/63567-power-options-sleep-mode-problems.html. I suggest you carefully read this article if you intend to be rude with your laptop, because you consider the closed disc.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

removeEventListener when removed from the scene?
I'm sorry if this is a really basic question, but how d code as3 to remove an event listener when the current frame (in my case, the section of my site) is no longer on the scene?
Consider the following code as an example:
function onClick(event:MouseEvent):void
{
doSomething();
}
MC1.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
MC2.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
MC3.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
How I would remove these event listeners when the user leaves this section of the site? Being limited in my knowledge in as3, all I can find is:
function removeListeners(event:Event):void
{
MC1. RemoveEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
MC2. RemoveEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
MC3. RemoveEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
}
parent_mc.addEventListener (Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE, removeListeners);
where "parent_mc" is the main scenario for the section of the current Web site
Of course, this isn't the right solution, because it makes no sense to add an event listener just to remove others. In regard to best practices, how do I remove event listeners in the 'section' in which they are used is no more on the scene?
use:
function onClick(event:MouseEvent):void
{
doSomething();
}
MC1.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
MC2.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
MC3.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
function removeListeners(event:Event):void
{
MC1. RemoveEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
MC2. RemoveEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
MC3. RemoveEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
parent_mc. RemoveEventListener (Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE, removeListeners);
MC1 = null;
MC2 = null;
MC3 = null;
}
parent_mc.addEventListener (Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE, removeListeners);

Hello
Please let me know if this is possible. Seems to me like a current need, but I can't find a way to achieve this.
I wish that the laptop to sleep when I close the lid (battery / plugged - matter), except when I have a connected external display.
The script is very simple, I prefer to work with an external display, so I don't want or need the lid is open. When I'm on the road, the "sleep when the lid is closed" is a desired behavior.
Is this possible?
Thank you
Roee.
(1) this function is available in the Apple OS, but not in OS Win.
(2) but, you can set a custom power plan to do this, so when you connect an external monitor just switch the power around plan. It is the easiest way to get what you want.

folds of 7612-printer Officejet 11 x 17 Paper 3 "from the top when printing from my computer
Name of product-Officejet 7612. Operating system - OS X - Yosemite (10.10.1) for my desktop and OS X (10.6.8) for my laptop. Problem when printing from a Mac machine in the Officejet 7612 on paper 11 x 17, it will always create a mountain/valley fold all the way across the top of the sheet about 3 "from the top. The folds will be straight through. Whether it's origami, it would be the perfect machine.
When I print from the control panel of the printer (for example a printing of print quality, or something www.hpeprint.com like news or some other print it will print properly with no fold either.)
It seems as if this in case of instructions from the computer to the printer to print, he gets in a hurry to get the document creating the folds, but when it comes to the machine itself, he picks up the paper gently.
Any thoughts?
Hi @Bodija ,
I see that you have problems when printing on 11 x 17 size paper of Yosemite, but you can print the thin material and ePrint test page. I will definitely do my best to help you.
When you print from the computer, you can print on letter-sized paper or are you just had the problem with the paper 11 x 17?
Here is a document to clean the rolls of paper to see if that will help.
A "Paper jam" error displays on the e-all-in-one printer large Format HP Officejet series 7610.
Go to Solution 5: clean the rolls of paper.
Using the full feature software drivers?
Series 7610 Wide Format e-all-in-one-HP Officejet full feature software and drivers.
Check the name of the driver that is installed by the printer. Make sure that it shows just the name of the printer.
Click on the Apple menu, click System Preferences. Click on Printers & Scanners, highlight the name of the printer on the left side and right side of the screen it should show the name of the printer. (Officejet 7612)
If the full name of the printer is not correctly, delete and add the printer name back from the list. Click on the sign - to remove the driver and then click on the + sign to add the driver might have to drop-down list to select the name of the printer to add a click.If you still have problems with it is software related, try the following steps.
Fix permissions of the drive on the Mac:
Close all applications.
In the Apple menu, click OK, click Applications, and then click utilities.
Double-click disk utility.
Highlight your hard drive / partition on the left.
Click on check and then repair disk permissions.
Restart the computer...
Reset the printing system:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.
Click on the Apple icon and then click on System Preferences.
Click on Printers & Scanners.
Make a right click (or Ctrl + click) in the left white side panel, and then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the name and the correct password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Then click on the sign to add the driver, highlight the printer +. (you may need to click the drop down menu to select the name of the printer) Then click the Add button.
Try to print again.
How the name of the printer was placed in printers and Scanners?
If you need help, let me know.
Have a wonderful day!

HP TouchSmart Tablet: unable to connect to wifi when away from home
Just bought a HP TouchSmart laptop to use when away from home. I just took in Santa Fe and could not get a wifi connection. I could get one on my smartphone, but not the laptop. Rookie here... Please dumb down of recommendations!

None of the cell if the installer can use wifi connections or a cell phone. Mobile home mine is configured to use my wifi and when I'm out of reach it switches to the use of the cell phone Tower. It's for the smart phone not your regular clamshell phone types. So the best test is to take your laptop and go to a public wifi and see if you can connect to the wifi and use which would be another way to diagnosis if the problem is the Wi - Fi connection or something else.

Hello
Many of us with laptops with Windows 7 would like to ensure that, when a Windows backup is scheduled, it starts successfully and goes to full completion, regardless of whether the phone is first 'sleep', or if the user of the laptop close the lid of the laptop, which would normally the laptop mode 'sleep'. In other words, how to backup Windows or Windows 7 be configured to wake from mode "sleep" and prevent it from sleep mode, when a backup is scheduled and actively running?
I saw a way to schedule a task that will wake the computer, but I'm looking for something more intelligent than that. I'm looking to see if Microsoft has already thought this through and allow you to pre-configure operating system such as we have no additional installation software.
Thank you
Dave

Laptop will not go to sleep when the lid is closed
Separated from this thread.
Same problem here. My settings say that my Toshiba will sleep when the lid is closed, but half the time is not asleep and I can feel it's hot and turns on the fan. I am so frustrated with this new laptop and Windows 8.1. Looks like too many bugs in the software or something. More I am working on the new laptop the more problems that I find, like screen discoloration as well. The forums are useless. I do what they say, and the problem is the same. Forget the call from Toshiba. Needless. Nobody will help unless you pay them money to subscribe. What customer service?
Hello
Thanks for posting your concern here at the Microsoft Community forum. Let me help you with your concern.
This problem may occur because of any change in power on your laptop options. If the default is set to hibernation and standby modes, your laptop goes to sleep when you close the lid, but then the Hibernate timer comes in and wake up your computer first and trying to Hibernate. He cannot go to Hibernate directly from mode 'sleep'. Go into the power settings and either disable hibernation or set the timer on a higher value.
To apply the same setting to all plans:
- Open Power Options by pressing the Windows key + X, clicking Control Panel, click system and security, and then clicking Power Options.
- On the Select a power plan page, click choose the cover.
- On the page define power buttons and turn on password protection , next to when I close the lid, choose what you want your laptop to do, both when it is running on battery and when it's plugged in.
- Click on save changes.
Tip: To save battery power and quickly resume working, select sleep. Sleep is a power saving state that allows a computer quickly resume the operation of full power (usually in seconds) when you want to start working again.
To apply a setting to a specific regime:
- Open Power Options by pressing the Windows key + X, clicking Control Panel, click system and security, and then clicking Power Options.
- On the Select a power plan page, click change plan settings for the plan you want to change.
- On the change settings for the plan page, click change advanced power settings.
- Advanced settings tab, expand it cover and the Power button, action lid, choose what you want your mobile PC to do when you close the lid, for when it runs on battery and when it is plugged in, and then click OK.
I hope this helps. If you need help with Windows, let us know and will be happy to help you.

Elements of external hard drives automatically put in the trash
Hello everyone.
Something strange has happened recently on my iMac (OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 version): I am a photographer and use several portable hard drives to back up my photos. I hung 4 to my Mac while I'm typing this. When they are attached and active, some of the articles on these portable drives are automatically put in the trash. I'm very good on empty the trash and the last time I went empty, he said I had over 3 million items to remove. I knew that something was wrong and through some trial and error, I figured out that if I ejected portable hard drives, the basket showed empty.
No idea why things of my portable hard drives are automatically put in the trash and if yes, how can I change this?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Tony
FWIW, there is no mechanism for a reader automatically put anything in the trash. Therefore related software. For example once a Mach time backup drive is full, it will remove older backups to make room for the new.
The discs in question are come with preinstalled software?
