  I built a 250 X with Win7sp1 Enterprise, used Lenovo System Update to update all drivers, driver and creates a new package of drivers of SCCM 2007.

  I added the driver v 12.12.80.1950 Intel I217-LM to the Boot Image, distributed to distruting SCCM points and created a new USB stick to boot using the SCCM Assistant.

  When I boot on the USB drive I get the message "cannot find a network adapter valid."

  I can use the ignition key on a 240 X without any problems.

  I can see the pilot I217-LM in the boot image. When I connect locally on the laptop, I can connect to a share on another PC, so the driver and connecting to the LAN function. It is only during boot on the key of USB startup problem occurs.

  The boot image, I added the driver to was "not to inject a ConfigMgr driver", I created a new boot image added three drivers NET from the driver package provided by Lenovo SCCM for X 250 and the laptop can now connect to the SCCM server.

• Fixed, it's a bug of 6.0 x - a: PowerCLI, vSphere 6.0 bug?  Lack of 'disk.used.latest' StatType for interval 7200

  I currently have a ticket open for this with the help of VMware and they keep giving me the runaround on this so I'm hoping to enlist members of this community to determine if it is a bug or not.

  We were on a Windows installation of vCenter Server 5.5 U2e with ESXi hosts 5.5U2 and it worked very well.  We have improved our vCenter first to 6.0.0a 6.0.0b, then 6.0U1, where we are now.  Releases vCenter relevant versions are here, not the ESXi host installs.  It broke somewhere in this upgrade path vCenter and I don't know what broke it version.

  
  

  There are four intervals (in seconds) performance stat data is collected and carried over from table to table: 300, 1800, 7200, 86400.  I won't go into how they are rolled in the other or the static logging levels that we believe that the data in the tables is actually unrelated to the bug at hand.  Interior PowerCLI, yUO can see each of the StatTypes for each interval by running the following commands:

  Each of them is a type of stat for which the data are collected.  If you compare the output of all 4 commands above, you should notice that the type of stat 'disk.used.latest' is not listed in the output of the command of 7200.  He just disappeared.

  The problem is that, because this parameter is absent in 7200, stats for what he cannot ride in the meantime 86400.  Currently, the latest data I have for disk.used.latest to 86400 is 11/07/2015, which is when we went to 6.0.0a.  The oldest 86400 data 09/06/15.  This is because the 7200 failed to roll up these data in 86400 since we went, but still data are still purged old daily for one year.  11/07/2016, all my data to 'disk.used.latest' to 86400 will be gone.

  And simply check if 'disk.used.latest' is in the list of types of stat for all intervals.  If I'm right and this is a bug, it should be absent for the interval of 7200 RPM, depending on the version of vCenter.  This check on each version 6.0 vCenter should tell us on which version it broke and if future versions have set.  It would probably be useful if the vCenter has been upgraded from a previous version of 5.x, don't know if this question will be present again. And I don't know if VCSA would show this problem or not.

  I now put my finger on the exact bug in vCenter that is causing this problem and it seems to affect every installation 6. 0 b through 6.0U2 (I didn't test RTM 6.0 or 6. 0).  V5.5U2 vCenter databases, the VPX_STAT_COUNTER table has the following indexes:

  IX_VPX_SC_ENTITY_ID

  VPX_STAT_COUNTER_M1

  VPX_STAT_COUNTER_M2

  VPX_STAT_COUNTER_P1

  VPX_STAT_COUNTER_U1

  After the upgrade to 6. 0b by 6.0U2, or even a whole new 6.0U2 install (i.e. no upgrade), the VPX_STAT_COUNTER table has only two clues:

  PK_VPX_STAT_COUNTER

  VPX_STAT_COUNTER_P1

  The problem is that the stats_rollup2_proc stored procedure (the task of SQL Agent ' past week cumulative stats "called l_stats_rollup2_proc which then calls stats_rollup2_proc) contains a reference to one of these missing indexes:

  SET @sqlCommand_rt3 = 'INSERT INTO' +... + ' VPX_STAT_COUNTER SC WITH (INDEX(VPX_STAT_COUNTER_M1)...

  This causes the SELECT within this INSERT statement execution to return:

  MSG 308, level 16, State 1, line 1

  "VPX_STAT_COUNTER_M1" of the indexes on the table 'VPX_STAT_COUNTER' (specified in the FROM clause) does not exist.

  The effect of this is that the select in the INSERT statement from @sqlCommand_rt3, who is supposed to read VPX_STAT_DEF. ROLLUP_TYPE = 3 meters of tables HIST2, returns 0 rows due to the error above, which means VPX_STAT_DEF. ROLLUP_TYPE = 3 "counters of HIST2 paintings are wound never in the tables of HIST3 because @sqlCommand_rt3 is not select all data.  For worse, management errors in this stored procedure are not to catch this error, or at least not related it to the SQL Agent history shows this task such as running successfully when it is clearly not.

  The answer that seems to be implying to VMware support is that the index VPX_STAT_COUNTER wrong lack 6.0 installed and that it should be there.  Or these indices have been removed on purpose and someone forgot to update the procedures stored to use one of the remaining index (my test indicates that change the stored procedure to use VPX_STAT_COUNTER_P1 instead can also solve the problem).  Whatever it is, according to my tests, this affects every 6.0 installation vCenter, upgrade or new installation is not serious.  Most people notice probably the question most .latest counters do not appear to be exposed through graphical interfaces.  Unless you are specifically looking for counters .latest in the meantime 7200 using PowerCLI, or a third-party program that looks for them, as I did, you'll probably notice even missing these performance data of the 7200 range and beyond.

  The solution is simple: rebuild the missing index on the VPX_STAT_COUNTER table and counters .latest then roll up to 7200/HIST3 properly again the next time the task runs.  By default, weekly and monthly tasks run at 2:15 a wait for day 2 to see .latest counters appear for the interval of 86400/HIST4.

  The documentation is correct. VIENNA can only backup physical systems using the SQL, stockbrokers & Sharepoint. It is not a way to back up a physical file using VIENNA server.

• Problem of cluster Failover MS after physical RDM conversion to VMDK

  Last week I had to migrate 7 x 2-nodes virtual MS Failover clusters to a new data center. All clusters have been configured with the configuration of the cabin and all shared disks were in physical RDM mode.

  The target data center does not RDM disks so I had to convert all RDM disks VMDK files and use config before the migration of the IPC.

  I used vmkfstools to convert VMDK eagdrzeroedthick RDM files.

  5 clusters have been migrated successfully, but two cluster got strange question even if the procedure for all groups was the same.

  So in two groups, I have a problem where the second node in the cluster can not put online some of the shared disks. The first nodes in the clusters have no problem with the disks/SSP.

  But when I try to failover of all services, the second node may not bring online disc 1 or 2 shared, even if she can put the other shared disks online.

  VMKernel.log is not errors or warnings. I checked the configuration of virtual machines and everything seems OK.

  Any ideas what I could check?

  Just in case anyone else is facing the same problem.

  I could not find the root cause of the problem, even if it's without a doubt the conversion that triggered the problem. However, we found quite a simple solution - added new shared VMDK files, copied the files over and replaced the defective discs.

• Do &gt; 2 TB physical RDM NEED Directpath IO?

  I've been struggling with this for over a week now so I could really use some advice.

  5.1 ESXi

  I need to install three hard drives 3 to and give them direct access to a virtual computer running FreeNAS (or other) for a ZFS ZRAID configuration to store data.

  From my research, it looks like a physical RDM is my best solution. I want that the BONES of the VM to exert direct and complete control to readers with title bit VM intervention as possible. Reason being, I want readers to be able to be exchanged in a physical server to spare if necessary to recover the data.

  I am able to do a physical RDM using the command line and I'm able to add them in a virtual machine. Once attached, they do not work in the operating system. The operating system can see the disks, but may not use it.

  I am unable to make the virtual RDM because obviously, readers are more 2 TB - 512 k.

  Where can I activate? Do I NEED to have material supporting Directpath IO to use the large RDM? I can't confirm this, but it's the only thing else that I can think of. New versions of ESXi should support up to 64 TB with the RDM...

  My hardware does not support Directpath IO so I can't spend it just a map of entire storage with the disks attached. But I can buy a new motherboard supporting the pull-out decision if that's the answer. Also, for the physics of the RDM will I need to pass to the virtual machine a whole controller (card) or can I just use the physical RDM as on the use of the SATA connectors on board?

  Step 2: umount/mnt/disk1

  Step 3: ExecFlashCopy ' run SAN Storage FlashCopy function

  Step 4: mount/dev/sde/mnt/disk1

  But if the VMware kernel cache for 'Physical Raw Device Mapping Device', "Empty the Cache of VMware" is necessary in step 2.5.

  Your proposal is false. ESXi is not linux and does not cache for VMFS.

  ESXi does not cache the IO VM guest operating system receives IO acknowledgement when the disk controller to acknowledge completion of e/s.

  ESXi doesn't have any cache for RDM, what is physical or virtual.

  Now, I have a few more crash but don't know if it's a physical disk problem.

  For example... I have run CHKDSK and does many things and happens at the exact same spot and hangs at step 4 file 5 3498 or 421168 processed.

  I tried to run CHKDSK in SafeMode but tells me drive is locked and it will run when I restart. But the restart put back me in normal mode and get the same hang.

  Now, for more suspicion of a physical problem. I tried to make a disk image with ACronis and same problem occurs because he says impossible to reading data 226 964, 072 sector and ask if I want to ignore and continue. I say yes to everything. Log shows he made about three of these attempts and crashes.

  I ran sfc/scannow and it says found problems that he was unable to fix. The newspaper isn't so long and complex course that all means. I could send these log files if someone can help me understand.
