Qosmio F10: black screen at startup - no. Toshiba screen

Help

My F10 is completely blocked and no longer works. After booting, the screen remains black and the fan starts to run madly, after a while the sound of toshiba happens but nothing else happens. No windows, nothing, only the fan running wild of the laptop.

Before this happened I shut down the computer normally. We have about 26 or 27 degrees celsius in our office today, but I did not record any overheat in my computer. Something strange: I signed up for a few days, that after you start, only the toshiba sound came but no symbol of toshiba on the screen as usual.

My question is: what can I do?

Hello

If the laptop cannot ignore the Toshiba screen so it must be something wrong with the hardware. Maybe the motherboard.
But I'm not sure. I think that some diagnostic tests are needed to say what harm exactly.
In this case, the only thing you can do is contact the Toshiba service partner in your country.

  • Qosmio G30 - black screen on startup

    Hello

Having problems with my G30 at startup. I was watching TV using the media library (by pressing the shortcut of the TV next to the power button), but when I tried to reboot the system (by pressing the power button) all I get is a black screen! I hear the sounds of start and the hard disk icon flashes but I don't see anything. Suggestions welcome!

    Hello

Have you tried to connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if something appears on the second screen?
I think that you should do this. In addition, you can try to use the FN + F5 key combination to switch between the two views.

If this is not enough and you still won't be able to see anything, I assume that there is a serious hardware problem.

In this case you should always contact the ASP in your country because in my opinion the simply, common laptop user would not be able to know what's exactly wrong because of the lack of experience and the necessary tools.

    Good luck

  • Qosmio F10: Monitor screen looks like a photo of Andy Warhol

I currently have problems with my screen resembling a picture of Andy Warhol. I resorted to pass through the product Recovery DVD-ROM for my laptop Qosmio F10/G10 in the hope that it back to the factory would solve the problem but it didn't.

The screen falls down after the Windows Welcome screen, leaving me with my office all Andy Warhol as (i.e., blocks of colors pixelated on the edges of the graphics). I tried to reset the resolution which has solved the problem to an almost acceptable level, but on a temporary basis, because the problem reappears again when I re - start the laptop.

I think it's something to do with the Windows Multimedia operating system that came preinstalled on my computer (so no recovery disc). The reasoning behind this assumption is that I put a DVD movie in the media which is part of Windows XP and the film is a video of Andy Warhol.

I put the same DVD in the WinDVD which came as a content of Toshiba and the DVD is perfect! My reasoning is that if there was something wrong with the hardware of the laptop, then DVD playback all programs would react in the same way, but as they do not, there are programming (or operating system problem).

I'm on the right track? Is there a way to solve the problem via a downloadable file?

    Hello

The comparison with the image of Andy Warhol's very funny ;)
However, I recommend you first connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if the same images will appear on the second monitor and run the DVD with Media Center.

I don't know if it has something to do with the BONES of Mr. for me, it looks like a malfunction of the graphics card, but this is only a suggestion.
Have you tried to update the graphics driver? Delete the old and try to install the latest version available

  • Qosmio G40 - black screen and does not start

A bit of water on my laptop... (bought in 2007, guaranteed on)
I did not cut power at the time because it did not work properly...

    But, the next morning.
Start with a black screen, fan is too much work and I have a beep.
An and after a continuous short beep...

I opened it and dry all (air cold & mild)... paper to remove moisture.

but screen remains black, a beep and the fan not working too.

Please help... What can I do?

    Hey,.

It seems that water damged your laptop or at least some parts. In the worst cases, you need a lot of new pieces of equipment, but I don't think that an authorized service provider can help you diagnose this problem.

On the Toshiba site, you can search for them:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an authorized service provider

Contact them and ask for help. They will help you as much as possible. :)

  • Qosmio F10; White screen at startup

About a week ago my laptop starts with the screen does not. Strange! Everything seems to work fine, power lights on the hard drive whirring away etc but nothing Visual. After having read the manual I touch FN key and f5 and the screen appeared. Now there is however a noticable difference in the quality of the image. (Fonts appear blurry) Each time cell phone lights up I no longer get the graphic qosmio that appears and the screen are black for about 30 seconds before desktop appears. I also noticed that when I ran the Qosmio presentation a white band about 50 cm wide appears upright to the bottom of the right side of the screen that looks like a vertical taskbar. Notepad is just 10mths old still under warranty and with "very little high"especially used for wireless internet access. Any help would be welcome, thanks in advance.

Your Qosmio seems mode clone (tv + tft).
Right-click on the desktop. go to display properties. Last tab on the right. Select the proper resolution.
Then press "Advanced" on this tab. Go to the tab 'Geofrce FX5700' select Nview, then select 'standard' instead of Clone. Press on apply.
    It should solve your problem.

Or easier, I've just thought about it, press Fn + F5 until the selection is only your TFT screen.
    Later,.

    Hello

I have several question for you:

-What system was installed before? Windows Vista?
-where you have downloaded the display driver? On the Toshiba site?
-You can find all the necessary drivers in the section download the drivers on the Toshiba site-> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
Simply choose XP MCE as an operating system, the drivers are the same as XPPro/XP

  • Qosmio G30 - black screen on external monitor

Qosmio G30 (PQG32E) under Vista Home Premium, driver NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600, 7.15.10.9813

I can't get a picture on a monitor external (I tried two different monitors). More precisely:

"Windows Mobility Center" will recognize that a monitor is connected
"NVIDIA Control Panel - Display Change Configuration" will recognize the external monitor ('Select poster that you want to use' shows 'Display of the laptop + Sony SDM-HS73', which is the monitor plugged in ext)
but no matter what configuration I try using Fn + F5 or change of display Configuration, I can't do anything but a black (backlight) display on the external monitor.

The monitor is receiving a video signal correctly: when he is off in laptop only the setting Fn + F5, it displays a warning 'no signal', but when turned on again I just get black.

I tried to change the resolution for the external monitor settings. They exactly match the native resolution of the monitor. Still nothing.
I tried 'Clone' and 'Dual View' mode.
Tried various different orders to turn on the computer laptop and monitor, Plug and unplug the device, etc.

Having installed the latest driver for the Toshiba (see above) site. Have NOT tried to install any other driver from NVIDIA site, as she warns to use Toshiba - but that's worth a try?

The clean laptop screen and all other aspects of the video are very good.

It worked ok in the past (I think that before I did the upgrade to Vista when it was still on XP).
Should I just wait for another update of Toshiba driver and maybe Vista SP1?

I really hope this isn't a hardware problem, because the monitor is recognized etc...

    Jonathan

    What port you used?
The (analog) external monitor port or the output port D-video?

View as far as I know that if you used the external monitor (analog) port, then you should choose analog in the nVidia-> current view

Then, you can use the FN + F5 key to switch between the two views.

  • Qosmio F10 Boot Screen problem

I have an old book Osmio F10 2 years everything has gone wrong. I used the laptop last nite and was working fine. This morning when I turned it on, I heard a rattle of hard drive noise, so I refused and turn and he was still making the noise. Yet once I stopped it and to my surprise it wasn't beyond the Qosmio logo screen. Its saying an error #O IDE. I tried using the recovery disk but it says worng machine. In my view, is not regonizing my hard drive. I have documents important lots in my drive hard and do not want to lose. I really don't understand what is the problem.

    Your answers are appreciated!

Sorry to say, but it seems that the HARD drive is crashed. Error IDE #0 is a bad sign. This means that the machine is unable to initialize the HARD disk. The rattling designates only the heads likely to be damaged.

If the files are very important to you, you can send the HARD drive to a data recovery specialist. They can the data recovery, but it will be expensive.

Remember that a HARD drive should never be invoked. They have mechanical parts and may crash at any time. It is important to back up your data on CD/DVD/USB/SD/Tape on a regular basis.

  • Controller drivers/video display Qosmio F10-136

I'm in the middle of reinstalling everything on my computer laptop Qosmio F10-136. I used the Toshiba site display drivers. However, in the video controller Device Manager shows an error, and the drivers are not installed. The graphics card is a nVidia GeForce FX go5700. Scrolling up and down pages in Internet Explorer is very slow.

Also when I go to display settings-advanced-adapter graphics card properties is not displayed under adapter type.

Someone knows what's the problem? I need to download the drivers to elsewhere?

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hello

The graphics driver on the European driver Toshiba page works and can be installed correctly.
I think you did something wrong.

Try to reinstall the graphics driver again.

Remove the graphics controller from the list of Device Manager and restart the laptop.
Then try to reinstall the driver again. I recommend to install in the Device Manager.
Choose graphics card, update driver, and then point to the downloaded graphics driver and complete the installation.

    See you soon

I have the Qosmio F10. On the start screen is black and I can not get the image on my screen by pressing the tv on the far right. I have no windows startup screen or anything. Help, please

    Yes, more details are needed!

But the description looks a bit like a hardware problem.
If you are able to see everything on TV then I think that the internal display is broken.

The GPU should be ok, due to the fact that the image on an external device.

In this case there is not much to do to contact the ASP in your country to control the laptop.

  • Screen with a Qosmio F10 problems

Guys, I have a very cold sweat and Im panicking on my laptop!
It crashed on me and he couldn't do anything, so I turned it off. I came back to it a few minutes later and when I tried to turn it on, I get a black screen with as white on the screen axis-bands. I don't know if the laptop itself is wrong or just the screen. But I am worried, sick and trembling like a leaf here!
    Please help me!

My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio F10
bought mid-2005 for about 1.5 years

the screen is just weird. Black with vertical pin strips.

No, I have not installed a new software or hardware. I was just working away in Word and Photoshop when he went AWOL. So I had put out of service.

    Hello, Karen

There is certainly a hardware problem and I'm afraid there is nothing you can do alone. You can test it with an external monitor to see if the problem persists and check if the problem occurs due to faulty display or graphics.

Believe me, the best thing you can do is to contact Toshiba authorized partner in your country. Let them test your defective hardware for laptop and Exchange.

  • Qosmio F60 - 10J: black screen after XP Nvidia GT 330 M driver installation

    Hello

On my Qosmio F60 10J, I installed windows XP on a DD of esata, I found almost all the XP drivers. XP works well, now...
I downloaded GT 330 m XP drivers on the Nvidia site because the Web from Toshiba site, it's only for Windows 7.

I installed these drivers XP of 330 m easily... but to reboot XP, after the XP logo, I have a black screen and a fan running at full speed.
I tried to change the options in the bios, but it's always the same problem.

    You have an idea?

    Thanks in advance
    Franck

    Hello

Seems that the driver is not fully compatible.
Try the www.omegadrivers.net graphics card driver
But note; Drivers Toshiba not in use ONLY at your own risk.
As far as I know, these 3 third-party drivers are not configured for mobile use and this means that the GPU could overheat and damage.

  • Qosmio F50 - 10 k: cannot read any games - black screen

    Hello

So, I'm having with my laptop since the beginning.

    * Laptop is: *.
Qosmio F50 - 10 k, 4 GB ram, geforce 9600 m gt 512 MB and I changed my windows vista ultimate to Windows XP Home edition sp3.

First, I changed the windows because I thought it can help (Vista can overload my pc, but the change to xp not really helped except that it's faster now).

    * My problem is: *.
Computer is under normal execution, I can check Web sites, watch movies, youtube or use office programs, but I can't play * ANY game.
When I turn the game can

    + System: Recommended requirements.
+ CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or equivalent +.
    RAM: 512 MB RAM +.
+ Graphics card: GeForce FX 5600 or equivalent +.
    + DirectX: 9.0 c +.

My laptop turns * black screen *.
I listen to the music of the game, and my radiators are starting work dramaticlly.
It's like 10 seconds after I opened the game. I have to remove the battery and reset it.

Temperature at which I am writing this post is 60 ° C, as always when I do _completly nothing_.

Can I have your help guys? Thank you.

    Hello

The Windows XP drivers are not available for the Qosmio F50.
I found only the drivers for Vista 32-bit and 64-bit OS.

Your problem could be related to the Win XP drivers that are not certified by Toshiba
The point is that this drivers don t support an overheating protection as do Toshiba drivers
So maybe this is the reason why the GPU temperature increases to 60 C.
But to be honest, the 60 ° C is not too high and each party will create more heat dissipation when running certain games or applications high performance

  • Green vertical lines then white screen on Qosmio F10

My Toshiba Qosmio F10 primer is more. When it is on, the windows logo appears and the screen green vertical lines before going completely blank. The screen remains blank for about 5 minutes, then the laptop starts to restart. It justs goes on and so forth.
No one knows what the problem is and now the laptop is out of warranty, cost for repair, or it is not profitable and it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop?
    Thank you
    Mike.

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately ' unfortunately it seems that this defect is caused by component defective equipment.» It could be that the motherboard together that cost to a service center about 400 European must be replaced. (New card mother and Exchange)
You can also try to clean your cooling system with a can of compressed air to remove dust which could probably cause the error, also.

If you really want to give your machine for repair, then follow this link and find nearest ASP in your country:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=ASP_SUPPORT
