Screen with a Qosmio F10 problems

Guys, I have a very cold sweat and Im panicking on my laptop!
It crashed on me and he couldn't do anything, so I turned it off. I came back to it a few minutes later and when I tried to turn it on, I get a black screen with as white on the screen axis-bands. I don't know if the laptop itself is wrong or just the screen. But I am worried, sick and trembling like a leaf here!
Please help me!

My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio F10
bought mid-2005 for about 1.5 years

the screen is just weird. Black with vertical pin strips.

No, I have not installed a new software or hardware. I was just working away in Word and Photoshop when he went AWOL. So I had put out of service.

Hello, Karen

There is certainly a hardware problem and I'm afraid there is nothing you can do alone. You can test it with an external monitor to see if the problem persists and check if the problem occurs due to faulty display or graphics.

Believe me, the best thing you can do is to contact Toshiba authorized partner in your country. Let them test your defective hardware for laptop and Exchange.

    Dear friends,

Let me share my problems with you and please help me with a solution for this.
I have my qosmio F10 machine its over 1.5 years. It has been repaired 3 times since I bought it.

1 (6 months after I bought it), I had a problem with my machine. ASP in Holland said that my Chipset and my V - RAM has been modified to be a new (chipset 855 PM at 915 PM & VGA card GeForce FXGo5700 to Go6600)

2nd (6 months after the 1st repair), another problem occurred. My sound card was in trouble and was changed. It is ok.

3rd (4 months after the 2nd repair), my system frozen. Toshiba Netherland replaced the fan and installed the new graphics processor. The spund of fan drives me crazy.

And now, I just got a problem this morning. When I turned on my power, I did not see anything on my screen (white screen, even no happened qosmio opening graphics.) Looks like I got a same problem with my 1st. Would someone like to help me? What should I do now? Many problems has been held since the 1st repair, I'm tired this kind of problems. Could you guys help me, please?
    Thank you.

    Hello

I'll try to help you, but I guess it's a hardware problem and you will not be able to solve this problem without additional and service partner assistance.

But we could try to find the fault. You should try to connect the laptop to the external display and could test whether the display will appear on the second screen.
If this isn't the case, everything looks like a bad GPU operate probably the fault of the motherboard.

Then contact the ASP in Holland and explain the situation as a whole.

    Good luck

  • Qosmio F10 - problem with the motherboard

The chipset of the graphics card is overheating. After not long used the chipset losing conection with PBC and portable with a value of $2500 is nothing (my after 26 months). The cost of the new motherboard is about $900. Toshiba is expected to cover some costs of replacement for motherboard fault. Why do clients have to pay for the mistake of Toshiba? It's not fair. I bought Toshiba laptop because they claim that the quality is perfect. A way of 26 months is this perfect quality?
Thanks Toshiba of such quality. I will recommend your products. Bartosz

    Hello

I'm sorry for you and the rift that has happened outside the warranty period. But after 2 years, it may be that a material abandon. It was perhaps better to buy an extended warranty, sometimes it really helps in such situations.
But if I were you I'd just be more anger then rather accept the situation, sell your machine on ebay and buy another. That's the only advice I can give you since toshiba never cover some costs of replacement since then all users who have a machine with outdated warranty wishes to benefit from this service. :)

    Welcome and good weekend

  • Screen with VGA adapter resolution problem

When I connect the MacBook Air 13 (2016 10.11.3 running) to an external monitor via DVI, everything works well: automatically selects the optimal resolution for the external monitor, plus I have other choices of resolution, and everything is good. But when I connect via VGA, I can choose resolution 800 x 600, which is not only not optimal: it's awful.

I get this same problem with 2 different VGA adapters and 2 different monitors, a 16:9 and the other 4:3. (16:9 screen spans 800 x 600, so it looks even worse.)

This problem does not occur on MacBook Pro 13 (2011 also runs 10.11.3): VGA and DVI work very well, with selected automatically optimal resolutions, plus I have other choices of resolution.

No idea how to fix this on the MacBook Air? Or is MacBook Air paralyzed by nature in this way?

    Thank you.

Finally called Apple Support. Has worked with junior counsel, trying all kinds of things that did not work. After an hour of this, he handed me a Counsellor, who took me to the preference of views and had me select the "chipped" resolution key to with hold option key. It gave me a wide range of resolutions that had not been previously available, including the resolution that has ended up working real well. Phew!

  • Many lines appear on the screen of Qosmio F10

    Hello

I have a problem with my Qosmio F10 screen
I see a lot of lines on the screen. And I have to disable the VGA driver or run the screen by using the options below.

I plugged the laptop with external LCD display, and the same problem appears!

That's why am sure it is a problem of VGA card

    What is the solution?
Should I change the whole motherboard? And I can't part used rather than buy a new one? Because it will cost me a lot! And where I can good.

Another question, yesterday the screen was simply awesome! I don't know what happened, I just with leaves the laptop that works for about 10 min and when I came back, I found that it works very well. After the reboot, the problem appears again!

Is it possible that the chip is (half broken) and could be fixed?
Or should I get the new motherboard?

    Thank you

    Hello

Unfortunately, it seems that the solution is not good cheap!
Graphics card chip malfunctions and it seems that the whole motherboard must be replaced! The motherboard is one of the most expensive laptop outside the internal display parts.

Sometimes the graphics card work poorly due to overheating and high temperature inside the laptop.
In this case, it s always advisable to clean the cooling modules.
This can be done easily by using the hose of the vacuum cleaner.
    But please be careful.

But if this procedure will not improve the graphical situation then the graphics hardware is certainly defective and only replacement could help!

  • Qosmio F10-101: after change of graphics output d-video card does not work

    Hello
I had a problem with my qosmio F10 and after service, changed the graphics card from Nvidia Geforce 5700 6600. But when I tried to switch the LCD for the TV screen, I could not use my d-video out (SCART nb exit). I could not change display properties TV format because these settings the value NTSC and shadow. You have an idea? How can I solve this problem before the service...
    Thank you

    Hello

The G10 has installed the utility of development of Toshiba and this tool has controlled the TV out put and the PAL, NTSC settings.
Check if it is available on your Qosmio F10 and change the settings if necessary.

Furthermore, it would not be a bad idea to access the BIOS and check if there are any options that can move from a PAL, NTSC

  • Qosmio F10 reinstall issues

    Hello

I have some problems with resettlement Qosmio F10.

First, I formatted the HARD drive and created 2 new partitions. I installed the new windows XP Pro without using restore disks. Now, the computer is unable to boot to the hard drive. There is only a cursor flashing at a black screen. The player is not more work. If I understand correctly, the player has been installed on a separate partition that I deleted everything repartition disks. Is this correct? Could someone tell me the initial configuration of the HARD drive.

I don't understand why the system is not booting. If I place the HARD drive on my other laptop it's start and everything is ok. It's a little messy.

    Any suggestions?

    Stiopa

Which player? Do you mean Qosmioplayer?

AFAIK qosmioplayer must be installed as a first step prior to installation of the operating system.
To be honest, who knows what's the problem with the installation of Windows XP Home edition. What WXP you try to install the SP1 or SP2?

    Try to install it again.

  • Qosmio F10 recover after replacing the motherboard

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my Qosmio F10 recovery. It won't boot from the CD, I get a message "media test check the cable failure".
I tried everything I could find here on this issue without any results. Then I read somewhere on this forum that this recovery cd would not work if the laptop has been repaired and has a new motherboard. This is excatly the case.

I got a new motherboard and CD/DVD player put some time ago.
How can I make it work again?

    A.

    > Then I read somewhere on this forum that this recovery cd would not work if the laptop has been repaired and has a new motherboard. This is exactly the case.

Who replaced the motherboard? THE ASP?

Well, usually the recovery CD should work after the replacement of the motherboard.
I presume that the parts have been replaced with exactly the same parts and so it should t be a conflict between the recovery and the new motherboard CD.

Have you tried to boot from another bootable Win XP or Linux CD? Check it!

  • Qosmio F10-100 keyboard replacement

    I have a client with a Qosmio F10-100 which is a few months out of warranty. It has several keys that don't work at all and the removal of the key top and cleaning underneath had no effect. He wants to replace. So I have two questions;

    1. where can I get a new keyboard from?

    2. How can I remove the one to replace it?

I am a taker, but do not have the guts for Toshiba laptop.

    Hello

Well, I suggest to contact Toshiba service partner in your country. Here, you can order the necessary keyboard part and you can also ask a replacement procedure.
In this case, you will be sure that you have a right and compatible keyboard to 100%. In addition, the service partner has more experience in the replacement of keyboard and it can give you a detailed instruction.

    Good bye

  • Qosmio F10-121, while the splash screen gets scratched with big purple bands

    Hello!

Suddenly, I had a problem with my Qosmio. Maybe someone could help me.
When I turn on my computer, the Qosmio logo appears (its ok) and then the Windows logo. But that's the problem, my screen becomes striped with big purple bands. I can't do anything, it's completely unreadable... Windows cannot be loaded, the Qosmio PIF and restart.

When I plug in an external display, it's the same thing.
I tried to use the restore DVD, but for the moment, it doesn't change anything.
    I see 2 problems:
-A video card problem (but Qosmio logo appears, and the restore DVD menus are normal
-A big failure of HARD drive (when I plug the SD of the internal Qosmio on my other computer, it is very, very slow, and suddenly, HDD disappears)
So, if you have any advice...

Thanks a lot for your answers and do not look at the faults.
    Eric

I bought my laptop 5 years ago and after a week, the motherboard has been replaced. But since then, it works like a dream. Never had any problems.
As you can see that computers are devices of high technologies and every time something might be broken.
I think that the laptop should be checked by a technician with experience for laptop

  • Several problems with Qosmio F10-136

    Howdy

Having trouble with my F10, which began a few days ago...
-He can't wake up after hibernation (freeze - black screen)
-freeze in closin XP (gel - "shutting down... "mssg. doesn't matter if im tryin to shut down the system or reboot)
-100% by 'system' process cpu usage (start-up time has not changed...)

Updated the bios, I did format and reinstall OS twice already, problems arise again so I guess it's some kind of hardware problem.
    Maybe the power supply?
    Have no idea...

    Any ideas?

    any suggestions appreciated

    Hello

It is not easy to say with certainty what the problem is here. You may have updated RAM or something?
I don't think it has something to with the power supply, but if you want to have a clear answer the cell phone must be controlled by technicians.

You did the right thing with the new installation of the OS, but if the problem persists, it must be something with the hardware. I hope that you have installed the image of recovery for test purposes.

  • Green vertical lines then white screen on Qosmio F10

My Toshiba Qosmio F10 primer is more. When it is on, the windows logo appears and the screen green vertical lines before going completely blank. The screen remains blank for about 5 minutes, then the laptop starts to restart. It justs goes on and so forth.
No one knows what the problem is and now the laptop is out of warranty, cost for repair, or it is not profitable and it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop?
    Thank you
    Mike.

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately ' unfortunately it seems that this defect is caused by component defective equipment.» It could be that the motherboard together that cost to a service center about 400 European must be replaced. (New card mother and Exchange)
You can also try to clean your cooling system with a can of compressed air to remove dust which could probably cause the error, also.

If you really want to give your machine for repair, then follow this link and find nearest ASP in your country:

    Welcome them

  • Qosmio F10: vertical lines on the screen

I use a Qosmio F10 with a nVIDIA 128 MB graphics card. Recently while I was running a graphics-based application on, my screen started showing me wire colors on the screen. I was able to start the game once more, but found the same problem exist.

On reboot, the system showed the vertical white lines on the screen to start qosmio, ' *' on the lines of the bios password screen and green on the Windows XP loading screen. I was not able to start Windows. Thinking it would be a problem of S/W, I formatted.

The problem persists and I can not load Windows XP.
Can someone tell me what the problem with my laptop?

    Hello

This sound like a hardware malfunction and I guess it could be something wrong with the graphics card or motherboard :(

But the vertical lines appear on the external screen? If so, then it must be a matter of Council.
In this case, you have a lot of possibilities. In my opinion, ask the guy to service for the control of the laptop. The technicians of the service in your country partner could run diagnostics tests and will give you more details about the failure.

    Good luck

  • Graphic problem on my Qosmio F10

I have Nooteboom Qosmio F10! I have problems with my screen, I don't know if it is a technical problem or drivers, but I cannot read anything on it!
All fonts and logos are somehow transformed into symbols and small pixels, I can't read anything about him so if someone could help me how to enter the BIOS and add DVD room to start him!

If you can tell me with a photo of him and that his poosible with some directions for example

Press ESC - F1 dhen close twice to the left then enter once down or whatever it is, I need someone to show me how to do this without seeing the fonts because I see nothing in my Nooteboom so if you run me so maybe I can get it formatted and maybe it will work better , it wont start at the end when it shows somehow the logo of the window then opens the blue screen when I try to install the drivers from the cd it asks me how to open the files of the cd rom when I give an order with explore it shows F: is not accessible has tried to install the drivers of the flash memory , but the flash stick is not recognized by pc so please if someone can help me I would appreciate it :)

I hope I was clear and you understand me because my English is not good :)

Thanks to those who help me :)

You can test it with an external monitor to see if the problem will be the same?
If so, I'm afraid there is problem with graphics card and in the worst cases, the motherboard should be replaced.

  • Qosmio F10: Monitor screen looks like a photo of Andy Warhol

I currently have problems with my screen resembling a picture of Andy Warhol. I resorted to pass through the product Recovery DVD-ROM for my laptop Qosmio F10/G10 in the hope that it back to the factory would solve the problem but it didn't.

The screen falls down after the Windows Welcome screen, leaving me with my office all Andy Warhol as (i.e., blocks of colors pixelated on the edges of the graphics). I tried to reset the resolution which has solved the problem to an almost acceptable level, but on a temporary basis, because the problem reappears again when I re - start the laptop.

I think it's something to do with the Windows Multimedia operating system that came preinstalled on my computer (so no recovery disc). The reasoning behind this assumption is that I put a DVD movie in the media which is part of Windows XP and the film is a video of Andy Warhol.

I put the same DVD in the WinDVD which came as a content of Toshiba and the DVD is perfect! My reasoning is that if there was something wrong with the hardware of the laptop, then DVD playback all programs would react in the same way, but as they do not, there are programming (or operating system problem).

I'm on the right track? Is there a way to solve the problem via a downloadable file?

    Hello

The comparison with the image of Andy Warhol's very funny ;)
However, I recommend you first connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if the same images will appear on the second monitor and run the DVD with Media Center.

I don't know if it has something to do with the BONES of Mr. for me, it looks like a malfunction of the graphics card, but this is only a suggestion.
Have you tried to update the graphics driver? Delete the old and try to install the latest version available
