Qosmio F50 - Volume OSD Bar missing

Hello all,.

Although I searched and found some information on this particular issue, I couldn't find any solution yet.

As far as I remember, immediately after I turned on the F-50 for the first time, I could see on the screen display (OSD) indication of the "volume bar", as I turned the volume knob.

Running Vista 32 on a F50-10 q (Spanish model), updated to the latest version of the BIOS, etc, but the Volume OSD ONLY works on Media Center, which is really strange to me.

So the question is simple, what driver do I need to reinstall in order to have the Volume Bar OSD whithin the Office?

Thanking in advance and apologizing for the English native and of course begging for an answer... it would be so difficult, right?

Hello Jose

Of course, it is not easy to say why you don't see more. The fact is that this kind of thing is controlled by Toshiba specific tools and utilities. I don't really know which is responsible for this, but you should try remove and reinstall the package of added value.

This package contains several different applications and I hope that one of them is responsible for this function. Check it out and please let us know if the problem is resolved.

    Hi mate

You need to create a recovery disk in the past;(à côté de l'option de récupération de disque DUR, il s est fortement recommandé de créer le disque de récupération dans le cas où quelque chose irait mal avec le disque DUR.)
I guess that the new operating system installation has changed the boot manager that was configured by Toshiba now, you have the standard Microsoft boot manager.

But I found this interesting forum thread:

I have a Qosmio F50-126 and bar media (next to the switch) stopped working and answer since I did the cover... the lights in the corners has also stopped working.

    What is the problem?
    Please help me...

    >.. Since I did the recovery
Can you please explain what do you mean exactly.
As part of the recovery, I understand you have installed the operating system using recovery Toshiba installation image and now you're using your laptop with the factory settings. Am I right about that?

Have you can be installed some additional software or Windows updates?

I mean question like what is the problem is pretty funny?
Can you imagine I ask follow you: I can't start my car, what is the problem?
What you can say about it, not much. Just speculating what may be the reason.

If possible, reinstall the OS and test it immediately without having to install additional stuff. It should work well.

  • Qosmio G20 - blue Volume Indication bar does not work under Vista

    Hey guys,.

would really appreciate your help on this. 2 days ago I decided to upgrade my laptop Qosmio G20 for vista (I know I don't need to hear all the problems of Vista, but I had to do). in any case, after a lot of problems (missing drivers, windows known glitches etc), I managed to get it up and running again. At least it's functions.

All Toshiba equipment are missing because they are not compatible with vista. I found the drivers of replacement etc. and solved most of the problems. I have not yet solved the blue volume indication bar inoperative led, located just on the right side of the touch pad. It s simply stating an indication of fake volume and its not changing at all with any volume control. The green on the screen volume bar is also missing.

Any of you have any idea how to solve the problems?

    Thank you very much

    Anthony

    Hello Anthony

I assume that you have already noticed the Qosmio G20 isn t that supported by Vista. So I can believe you had problems to find all the missing stuff, but if the Vista works well now you should not focus on the little things.
Exact managed and controlled by Toshiba designed tools and utility functions.
If they are not available, I have gift opportunity see t to solve this problem.

  • Qosmio F50 - 10 M - infrared driver for Windows 7 64 bit missing

I want to change my OS from VISTA (32 bit) to Windows 7 (64-bit), I'm on downloading all the drivers needed for the proper functioning of my laptop in the future.

When the choice of my laptop (Qosmio F50 - 10 M) and operating system (Windows7 - 64 bit) there is no more infrared driver (for my remote).

Do I need to have a driver for the infrared interface (which I have and is downloadable with VISTA32)?
If Yes, where can I get it?

Thank you very much for the help!

    Kind regards
    starmind

    Hi Starmind_1,

I n t have remote to test my Qosmio F50 so that I can t but if there is no driver for Windows 7, I guess that the 64 bit Vista driver should work fine on Windows 7. In addition most Vista drivers also work on Windows 7 so it s worth a try! :)

But from my own experience, I can say that Windows 7 64 bit works like a charm on Qosmio F50 and in my opinion better than Vista. I used all the drivers from the official website of Toshiba and don t have problems.
    Everything works great! :)

  • Qosmio F50 - 10K - multimedia keys are not lit

    According to my topic

    "" Qosmio F50 - 10K - replaced by Qosmio F60-126? ".
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=59934&TSTART=0

I had problems with my laptop, located at the Nvidia 9600 M GT graphics according to Toshiba service. They changed the graphics card with a new one today and so far everything is going very well and smooth. He collapsed again. Time will tell whether or not it returns to his old ways.

In any case, after I took up my F50 - 10K I noticed that the indicators for media buttons (Play / Pause, Stop, Dolby, etc) are not lit. The buttons work fine, but they are not on. All other indicators (the light bar on the touchpad, the volume light) and the power light work fine. There is a button to deactivate/activate the indicators, but it does not work for media indicators.

Before giving my laptop to the service of all the indicators were at work. Now, the indicators of media came out. No idea how to re-enable?

    Hi Jwrath,

I doubt s a hardware problem because they do not work properly and the lit / functions are controlled by added value package. In your case, I recommend reinstall Toshiba Value added Package from the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Remove the VAP, restart the computer and install the new VAP software.

In addition, check the BIOS. I don't know if there is an option for Mr. lighting if so, enable it and that s.

  • Qosmio F50 - 133, infrared non-operational

I have a qosmio F50-133, in which, after a new installation of license Windows 7 (upgrade Toshiba) I can t use the built in infrared device.

I use infrared communication with multiple devices, it is therefore a very important communication port.

In addition, in the settings folder of device (under computer/device settings) it s nothing information bad and there, under devices of human interface, a correct installation of the IR receiver ENE CIR HID and Microsoft ehome transceiver

Can you please help me solve this issue!

As far as I know, after completing the upgrade Toshiba you must insert composite CD again to install the missing drivers.
On the Toshiba download page, I see driver infrared listed for Win7, so try to reinstall Vista version 2.5.0.0.

  • Video problem on Qosmio F50 - 10K

    Hello
I connected my Qosmio F50 on a projector and watched a few movies and everything worked fine. But when I started playing an EA Sports NBA 2008 the system has collapsed and the image of the screen and the missing projector.

I rebooted and tried again but after 10-15 minutes it collapsed again. I installed the latest version of the graphics driver nvidia a few days ago. Any help is appreciated, sorry for the bad English.

    > monitor and projector
Can you please explain what exactly do you do?
Choose a single device (monitor or projector) and test again.

I hope you didn't just try to see the same image (cloned) on three different screens.

  • Unknown device ACPI/ENE0200 on Qosmio F50 - 12L with Win 7

    Hello...

My laptop cannot identify this device (ACPI/ENE0200)...
Does anyone know what driver should I download?

My volume button does not work as well...

    Windows 7 is installed...

Wish I could find a way to install xp as well, but I can't find sata drivers...

    Too many questions...!

    Hope I get a response...

    Keep up the good work!

    Hi mate,

I also Qosmio F50 and installed Windows 7 32 bit on it. I have to say that I didn t have problems such as you. It s works quite well on the Qosmio F50 and functions works as the volume button keys FN, the buttons of enlightenment and to this day.
Moreover I didn t need the registry patches yet but just try and post your result.

I installed all the drivers on the Toshiba site: Chipset, screen, sound, LAN, WLAN, Card Reader, etc., and after the driver Bluetooth software installation and package of value added. All that s! :)

In my opinion, it works really well and I can use all the features as on the factory settings (Vista), but Windows 7 runs faster than Vista.

Now, I have a dual boot with Vista and Windows 7, but for the moment I only use Windows 7. I guess I'll completely remove Vista and use then use disk space free for my apps on Windows 7.

I hope you can solve this problem and share the experience with us. I am interested in if you have the same opinion as me or not. ;)

But without plugging the headphones, it won't work.

  • Qosmio F50-113 - sound is dismute on Windows 7

Hi all and sorry for my bad English...

I installed Windows 7 on my Toshiba Qosmio F50-113 German edition...
Everything works perfectly, the function, the sound, the digital, print.
But if I go to cut with the buttons on the front of the screen and turn the soundcontroller left for the touchpad, my sound dismute himself and I have to press the button again.
Y at - it a registry patch or anything like that to solve this problem?

    secerely ilendemli

    Hey Buddy

Are you sure that there is a problem? I have a Qosmio F50 too and installed Windows 7 above. As you already wrote, everything works perfectly as keys FN, lighting, etc.

I m interesting in your ad, so I even checked on my laptop Qosmio. If I turn off the sound by means of toggle button it s cut as usual, but I can't turn on the sound if I use the volume knob.

I m not sure but maybe that is normal and not a problem. What happens if you try the same on Vista?

In addition, it would be interesting to know what version of BIOS you have? You update it?

  • Qosmio F50-108 - rustling sound in the speakers for a second or two

I recently purchased Toshiba Qosmio F50-108. I am very satisfied; the only thing that bothers me is the rustling sound in the speakers. The rustling sound appears only occasionally on higher volume (system volume) and Winamp or WMP volume and lasts for a second or two. It is not such a problem bi but it's embarrassing to hear the rustling all the few minutes when listening to music.

Harman/Kardon speakers have also some reputation so I t think that rustling is normal. If someone else got the same problem with speakers, please answer.

Well, what to say, I think that it s a normal question if you want to hear music on the volume level high. Almost all the speakers would be rustle a little bit some time if you increase the volume to maximum.

But if you think it's a hardware problem, then you must contact the Toshiba ASP in your country for a control.

    Welcome them
