Hello

AFAIK the files will be saved in:
C:\Documents and Settings\All TempSBE TV
If you want to change it, download TweakMCE (available on the MS site) or modify the registry.
You will need to change the following two keys:

EntVersion entVersion\Media Center\Service\Recording

EntVersion entVersion\Media
Center\Service\Recording\Watched records

Good bye

    Hello

It is not easy to say what the problem is here, but in my opinion, you should try to use a third party burning application, try to create DVDs.

I can recommend Nero Express. I tested it on Qosmio G20 and it works perfectly. I also have very good results with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5. It works perfectly.

I connect my G20 a very old VCR. Can I connect it to the antenna in the port? Someone at - it tried? Because it will not need to buy a cable SCART. And for what I searched by linking to the video in Port, if I want to record the signal, I have WinDVD record I did more.

More: When I connect the laptop to a TV it works only via the S-video port. When I use the D-video port it simply doesn't work. The black screen.

Of course you can do it. On this Qosmio laptop TV tuner works on the same principle as usual TV. You can watch movies on Qosmioplayer or using Media Center Edition VHS. In both cases start movie VHS and let Qosmioplayer or MCE sweep all TV channels. On one of them, you will see the picture of VHS VCR.

All that s. I tested it with Qosmioplayer and MCE too. It works without any problem. I also tested recording option. This also works. Later, I edited material recorded and created DVDs.

With short words: with Qosmio G20, you can do whatever you want. It's really good multimedia laptop.

  • Qosmio G20 - restore settings factory

    Hello

Basically I have a Qosmio G20 and here is a brief history of the problem: -.

    (1) Started to get a cooling system warning, after some time the computer turns off.
    (2) stupidly, I ignored the warning system cooling and after a few weeks the computer would start is no longer.
    (3) computer is out of warranty so it took PC World UK for diagnosis.
    (4) PC World says have found 7 viruses (which they said they removed) and said there may be a hardware failure, but they couldn't be certain until they had restored the factory settings for the computer to work properly.

The problem with restoring the factory settings, this is even though I know that the hard drive is not actually deleted, I'm worried that he would make a few programs and inaccessible files.

All I want to do is start the Qosmio once while I can:-

    (A) launch Mozilla Firefox and export all my favorites so that I can then load into my new laptop
    (B) export all my Outlook Express emails and loading them in the new laptop.

With (A) above, I think the only way I can get bookmarks from Mozilla is to launch the program and then use the export option, it doesn't seem to be a way I can just scan hard drives for bookmarks setting the file and back to the top. And as for B), I did a scan of the hard drive and I found the 'dbx' Outlook Express files but when I imported in the new laptop there are a considerable number of missing emails.

    So my questions are:-

    (1) if I restore to factory settings, does this mean that Firefox and Outlook Express would more appear in my programs?
    (2) if not, can start the computer using a Windows CD, and then launch Firefox and Outlook Express directly from the hard drive?
    (3) or, if I plug the hard drive on another computer, you know the exact files (and places) so that I can get all my emails and settings of Firefox?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

(> A) launch Mozilla Firefox and export all my favorites so that I can then load into my new laptop

This isn't really a problem. Bookmarks could be saved on external USB flash.
You can find the bookmarks in your profile in
    c:\Documents and Settings\ [your user name] \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
There should be a folder called bookmarkbackups.
You will find the latest bookmarks from html files.

Here you can find the FAQ about Firefox. Check * better

(> B) export all my Outlook Express emails and loading them in the new laptop.
You can save the mails too.

  • Qosmio G20: Questions on MCE Recovery CD/DVD

A few months back, I bought this laptop Qosmio G20. It s cool. I live in Asia where media center edition is not launched with this series. I have a Windows XP home edition with this laptop. Can someone tell me if it is possible for me to format this OS and install MCE on this laptop? And where I could get a recovery cd/dvd edition of Media Center? What is the procedure to install Media Center Edition of restore cd if I get a? And someone wants to share their media center edition cd recovery with me would be great.

pls contact me on this email address [email protected]

    Thank you very much (:)

    Hello Anand

AFAIK only devices with tuner TV have installed MCE and you can get the MCE OS recovery CD if you bought it with the Toshiba unit. If your laptop comes with Windows XP Home you can only get this form of recovery CD service partner. However, you can use the original cd of Microsoft Windows MCE. Then you can try to download all of the necessary drivers from the Toshiba site.

    Hello

Are you sure that your G20 was delivered with a DVB - T tuner and analogue TV tuner not only 100%?
As far as I know the g-20 was delivered with a different hardware configuration

But if you camera supports DVB - T tuner, so I think that digital signal is not strong enough to receive the digital channels.

  • Qosmio G20: Question of Media Center Receiver - recovery question

As the abvoe really, I usually leave my computer running from one day to the next day and yesterday I went on it to find that I had 80 MB hard drive (60 GB HDD) to the left. Error messages had popped up and a record of these was recorded in the folder pchealth, under userdumps, or something like that. Anyway I deleted 58gigs with a value of these userdumps, but the same error message kept popping up.

It was a mistake with the Media Centre receiver, but I don't quite know what it is, but it was founded in the ehome folder which I think is located in the main folder of Windows.

I have been into msconfig and stopped the ehhome.exe to start but that seems to ruin the tv/video within the media library settings.

I recently installed the codec and divx player to play divx movies.

I was wondering is that it would be more prudent to use the CD recovery and re - install windows and the software and create a restore point, and then install the codecs to see if the same problem arises, or if someone has had this problem and it heals.

Finally, I actually ran the recovery cd to the above, but when the cd starts the first line on back said something like, 'running Setup for windows 98'. XP is certainly on the 98 and no recovery cd?

Can someone please confirm this for me and all the answers to the above problems.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I can t believe that Windows 98 is placed on the recovery CD.
AFAIK the Qosmio G20 was delivered with the MCE window.
There is no recovery of Win98 CDs for Qosmio units.

In my opinion, this message occurs due to RAID or other drivers that load at the beginning.

  • Qosmio G20: Additional programs are placed on the recovery CD?

    Hello

I am relatively new to all this if my question is perhaps a bit noobish. But I would like to reinstall windows xp mce on my Qosmio G20. And I know that's what I use the product recovery disc for. But a few things written about it has started to get worried, so if you could answer the following questions I would be very grateful.

    (1) on the product recovery disc it is said that the additional software (ex: DVD player...) cannot be recovered from the dvd. But all these were preinstalled on my computer and I don't have a cd/dvd extra. So the question is: is this a denial of responsibility (unfairly put) and this Qosmio G20 recovery disc has all programs pre-installed so?

    (2) when I start the recovery process he formats just my drive C: or D: drive as well. I have not changed anything since I was the computer. So drive C: is where programs are, D: drive is just for some multimedia stuff.

Thank you very much. : D

    Hello

AFAIK Qosmio G20 comes with two recovery media:
    1 QOSMIO recovery media player
This CD contains QOSMIO player only and use it before you install the operating system.
    2 OS Recovery DVD
This DVD contains the operating system and all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities.
When you use the laptop will have to new factory settings. As after the first start.

When you use recovery DVD to install OS again, there is an option to install the operating system already persistent partition. I put t know if the recovery on your Qosmio DVDs old ghost image or new software Reco.

Please try to boot from recovery media and let me know how it starts. I can help you to install the OS on the right track.

    Hello.
people I m not very good with computers and need your help.
my mother gave me a qosmio g20-118 and I have some problems with it (never liked laptops that much, but this one is beautiful ;):)

1st - when watching dvd movies, I observe that when it comes to an image of the sky or clouds, I see dots on the screen. This happens also with you guys? could this be a problem in high definition? Even on the film "nilo" which comes connected to media player... when it comes to an image of an egypsian walk to the horizon on the stones... If you look at the blue sky, the definition is not so good... Why is this?
Despite this problem watching movies top it s super...
all what I can change to make it better?

2nd - I ve tried to watch TV and I can´t. I m Portuguese and have cable TV. from what I ve read the only thing I have to do is conect the cable antenna to the computer with the adapter tv right? It is a message that the signal is weak. can someone help me here?

    Hello

First of all, you are right. This very nice laptop s. I wish I would have a.
    Good on your problems:

1.), you should try to change the display resolution. It would be very interesting to know if the black dots remains on the screen. In addition, I put t think that it s a pixel dead issue because you don t have problems if watch you movies.

2.) have you used a Qosmio Player or a MCE? You should try to start the Qosmio player and try to launch a new search for TV channels. In the manual, you will find a detailed description of a connection and the use of the Q drive

3.) have you activated the Bluetooth with FN + F8 key combination?
Please check this post how to use a Bluetooth device:

  • Qosmio G20 - How can I get the tuner to work?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G20. :) It has windows xp professional installed.

I can access the Qosmio Player (by pressing the tv button) while the laptop is turned off. Get a snowy picture.

I donnot have a remote control. I'm from South Africa.

If anyone can help with the following text:

-Do I need a remote to tune to a frequency of psecific?
-If no, how I tune to a specific frequency without remote?
-How to access the user interface of the Qosmio player?
-The Qosmio accessible from Windows player?
Is there a guide on how to install and use the Qosmio player? If so, please provide the download link.

    Thank you

    Hello

    How do you watch TV?
Which player Qosmio do you have?
AFAIK the Qosmio Player versions 4.3 and older do not support the DVB - T signal.

Also I m not very good if you want to be able to receive TV channels in South Africa if this Qosmio G20 was released in European countries.
The point is that the internal tuner would not receive the signals due to the different PAL/NTSC settings.

    Regarding scanning of channels:
    Please check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=25430

In order to run the scan, you need to start the Qosmio player, press the F1 key and enter the Setup program.
Here, you can do a scan. You n t need the remote!

The other fact is that the Qosmio Player is not Windows-based applications and you cannot start if Windows. If Windows is running while you use MCE (Media Center) instead of Qosmio player.

  • Qosmio G20 - could not get the video to display on the LCD screen

I have a laptop Toshiba Qosmio G20, running Windows XP MCE.

The DVD player on board isn't sounds very well so I thought I would plug an external DVD drive to expand its use. After a lot of internet research, I finally found how to do this. Here's my setup.

Using the monitor port I used the adapter 3 RCA jacks. (There is no S-video on the DVD drive and an adapter did not work). I finally discovered that in order to get the image on the screen, I have to use Fn + 4. Now, here's where I'm having the problem. I can't get the video to display on my external LCD. FN + 5 didn't do. The monitor is an I - inc AH191D and is connected by VGA cable. There is no driver other than the one for the VISTA operating system... That is why it is not anywhere in the Device Manager.
Here are the settings I use in order to have all that shows on my desk, shows on the monitor.

In Control Panel open to the screen. Properties
Number chosen 1 - multiple monitors GeForce Go6600 video card...
    Advanced under
    the GeForce G06600 tab,
    nViewDisplay Mode: clone 1 a 1 b
The main screen: digital flat screen
    Secondary display: AH191

I also tried using the properties of controls on Toshiba. He says under TV output TV output but gives options of the program, but I don't know what I would use. Any ideas out there?

Wait I'm confused, if you try to send the output of your external DVD drive in the laptop, and then display the image on an external monitor attached to laptop?

If you use the DVD player on your laptop, it will be good quality S-video as a signal of low resolution.

Is there something wrong with the DVD player?

If it's just the DVD software you don't like, you can download other DVD players. PowerDVD is excellent, its better than WinDVD and other players in my opinion.

    Hello

If you use a MCE, you must set up a TV signal. Go to settings and select general
Then the MCE installation and configure the TV Signal.
But not all areas, DVB - T have been supported.
