Qosmio G20 - CD/DVD drive does not read disks
Hello world
I use the G20, which is not able to read DVD/CD other than Moose
the DVD I burned using the same player is not able to read again when I insert it.
Can someone help me solve the problem?
If any other question for the brief ing the question can be posted to will answer.
Thanks in advance
Hello
The problem looks like a compatibility problems between the CD/DVD player and the discs used
I had this problem several times, but since using the disc TDK R questions is never appeared again.
So I agree with Luke and recommend that you try other discs.
In addition you must remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Good bye

Qosmio G20 - CD/DVD drive does not burn
Please can someone help?
I rebuilt my qosmio g20 and the thing what it is great except my cd dvd player that plays audio and video but simply will not register. When the folder now, he says no. RECORDER and when I click on check for other readers of anything.
Select record is selected. Before the reconstruction, it all worked but did not.I have nero has always worked well even with the sound stuff installed. So I reinstalled nero and nothing.
I tried to delete the upper and lower entrances in regedit, which is a common difficulty that offered among various forums but nothing again.Sick as a parrot, so glad of any help here... Thank you
Hello
It's very strange
Have you tried to reinstall the OS again?
Try this.I recommend also to remove the CD/DVD drive Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Usually the operating system should recognize the drive of the CD/DVD device correctly and must reload the driver again.I see you are using Nero burning ROM. I know sometimes the BONE can be confusing upward if several burning applications are installed.
So remove the sonic software and use only one. Nero.Best regards

Equium A200-1V0-CD/DVD drive does not read disks
Hello
in 'My computer', it shows the drive as being there for the dvd/cd etc, and when you put a disc in it makes all the noises whirring that it starts to read, but they are actually not autostart or anything and you do not see them on the screen 'my computer '.
It lists just like the normal reader, as thoough, that nothing was in it.
Double clicking on it does nothing at all, nor open or explore.
Any ideas please?
Thank you.Hello
There is a general solution but it doesn't work still, but in my opinion it s no doubt worth a try.
First of all, you need to remove the drive from Device Manager.
Simply access the Device Manager, mark the CD/DVD drive and remove it from the list of devices. In addition, you will need to access the registry using the regedit command.
There, you have to completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Finally, restart the laptop and wait until the CD/DVD has been recognized again.
Check it!

Hi, I had the same problem and very frustrated as my CD/DVD stoped working after an update by Microsoft, it wouldn't read any CD or burn anything. I had no chance after trying all the solutions offered by Micorsoft.
I tried my laptop manufacturing couple of times and had no answer, finally I got an email from those who proposed the solution. My problem was solved following in their footsteps, and I hope it solves the current problem of other frustrated users who tried the Microsoft solution and are always looking for an answer. I copy and paste the exact observation of my e-mail.
"For this issue, first remove the WEIRD Device Manager device and then analyze the change for a trial.
So again, please load by default in the BIOS as follows. Please turn on the laptop. As soon as you see the ASUS logo to enter the BIOS, press F2. Then press F9 to load the BIOS default. Then save and exit and then restart the laptop.
The BIOS flash procedure is now complete. »Good luck to all.

CD/DVD drive does not read discs on Equium A100
My cd/dvd drive does not read any discs be it, white, written or commercially written. It opens and closes and is light to show that he is working on. Device Manager indicates that the device is functioning properly.
Tried the update of drivers, no update available. Tried restoring the system back 1 day and 1 week and 1 month, then and still the problem cannot be corrected. When I put a cd/dvd in the drive and try to access it, it says: D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.
Can someone help me I tried everything my friends and I can think, or is it better to send just to toshiba warranty.
If the solution proposed by James will not help, you should try to remove the drive to CD/DVD in Device Manager.
After phone restart the operating system will recognize and initialize the disk again.
After this review of the procedure if you can read, write the middle. -

Hello
Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Hello
I guess the discs not all burnt gift? t working in this player.
I know that not all media work on all players. In the manual, you should find a list of tested and good work supports.
I recommend that you test the CD and DVD that is recommended in the user's manual. -

Hello
That means only one disc can be read from your laptop and all other disks can be read properly? Well, in my opinion, it could be a disc problem, maybe it's striped s and so it can t be read to all readers.
In your case, I would try to clean the lens of your CD/DVD drive. Therefore, you can use a microfibre cloth.

The CD/DVD drive does not read discs
Hi, I have a COMPAQ Presario CQ40 with optiarc DVD RW AD - 7561 ATA Device driver, recently the drive does not work properly. It can read and burn the disc, that I already used, but when it's a new (disc white) it does not read the disc. It has an error message "make sure that the disc uses a format windows recognizes. If the drive is not formatted, you must format it before you use it. "the disc is the format that would recognize the system. I tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstalled from the Device Manager, but nothing works, tried too much microsoft fixit, always the same. Hope that there is another work around here... Thank you...
Have you tried using other burning software?
Try this free you see if you receive messages.

I have a Satellite P200-140. The DVD/CD Player plays all DVDs without problem. However, it does not read CD. A message 'no disc' appears.
I've updated the drivers, cleaned the lens, completed all the normal tasks.Any advise / solutions out there?
Hello
Maybe you should try to remove the capital letters and lowerfilters in the registry, because you can often read here in the forum:
(1) run regedit (Start-Run-Regedit online online)
2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
(3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
(4) restart.I hope this works for you too! :)
