Satellite L500-13D-CD/DVD drive does not read CD
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite l500-137 laptop with vista sp2.
There is a cd writes that my dvd drive would not read, the driver can read other CDs & DVDs well.
who says cd's seems to be fine as it can become red from the other computer.
any suggestions?
* Thanks to *.
Hello
That means only one disc can be read from your laptop and all other disks can be read properly? Well, in my opinion, it could be a disc problem, maybe it's striped s and so it can t be read to all readers.
In your case, I would try to clean the lens of your CD/DVD drive. Therefore, you can use a microfibre cloth.
Check it!

Satellite L500-126-CD/DVD drive does not open very well unrolled
Hello
I just got my second Satellite L500-126.
I traded my first for a new because the ESCAPE key got stuck sometimes and made a grinding sound. Now, with my new one, I noticed that my dvd drive does not open very well unrolled and 2 bars of silver metal bit come out with the car when I open it.
Is this normal? Also, when I close the dvd player, I hear a little noise "ping!"
Like a spring, or something. Is that also normal? Thanks in advance.
Hello
I'm not quite sure what you mean by 2 small bars of silver, but the reader of my laptop s contains two metals (runners, railway).
This is normal and these pieces are important to ensure that the drive can eject properly and could remain in a good position.
Still, you will hear a short click Open and close the drive. So I guess it's ok.

Hi all
I have a Satellite P200-140. The DVD/CD Player plays all DVDs without problem. However, it does not read CD. A message 'no disc' appears.
I've updated the drivers, cleaned the lens, completed all the normal tasks.Any advise / solutions out there?
Hello
Maybe you should try to remove the capital letters and lowerfilters in the registry, because you can often read here in the forum:
(1) run regedit (Start-Run-Regedit online online)
2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
(3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
(4) restart.I hope this works for you too! :)
Good bye

CD/DVD drive does not read discs on Equium A100
My cd/dvd drive does not read any discs be it, white, written or commercially written. It opens and closes and is light to show that he is working on. Device Manager indicates that the device is functioning properly.
Tried the update of drivers, no update available. Tried restoring the system back 1 day and 1 week and 1 month, then and still the problem cannot be corrected. When I put a cd/dvd in the drive and try to access it, it says: D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.
Can someone help me I tried everything my friends and I can think, or is it better to send just to toshiba warranty.
If the solution proposed by James will not help, you should try to remove the drive to CD/DVD in Device Manager.
After phone restart the operating system will recognize and initialize the disk again.
After this review of the procedure if you can read, write the middle. -

Hello
Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Satellite Pro A30: CD/DVD drive does not-how to restore the OS?
I want to run the recovery discs to restore my laptop to its original state, but the cd/dvd-rom does not work.
Does anyone have an idea how I can do this is by plugging my laptop on another pc or is there a program on the web, I get to do this for me.
Bacically, even after that run CCleaner and other programs of the laptop is still slow and struggled.
Hi mate
I'm not very well if the former satellite Pro A30 is able to boot from USB drive Mr. in this case, you can try to install the OS from USB flash stick.

Satellite L50D-B - faulty DVD drive does not recognize discs
Bought 2 months ago. The reader agrees not the CD, DVD or anything like that.
The name of the drive does not appear on the disc and if you double click on the DVD drive icon (even if a disc is inserted) the drawer opens and says please insert a disk. I tried several discs are not the issue. So far I got technical support where I bought it.
They said to do a reinstall I did - with the full drive clean. I tried to update the drivers, but the computer insists on the fact that they are later. If I search my model number on the site of Toshiba driver support he gets rejected, and I have no access to (Toshiba) drivers.I checked a few other forums and tried the regedit fix, but which is also irrelevant. If no solution is found (and I've lost hours of my life on this subject) then this laptop is going back for a refund and I'll get one who will perform the simple task of playing a DVD.

PSKUQA - 01300-SHello
Sorry to hear that you have such a stupid problem with your machine. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
In my opinion you should not waste your time checking and search for some drivers who probably will not help at all.Reinstall the original operating system that you have with your machine and test functionality with the factory settings. If the result is the same contact your reseller or Toshiba service provider directly and ask for help. They can check ODD and Exchange if necessary.

Satellite L300D-13s - CD/DVD drive does not close properly
Hello
I have the L300D-13s, about a week.
Today and for a short time last Sunday the DVD drawer is not closed.
I rebooted several times and tried to put the disc in but again, she is ejected and does not read disks.I installed Norton 360 Version 2.0 the day I got it, I really don't know much about computers and I hope that it's fairly simple.
I checked the control panel and checked all the settings and they all seem fine.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thank you.
Hello
I think it s a mechanical problem of CD/DVD disc and you should contact the ASP in your country for a control.
I mean that the guarantee must be valid because this laptop does not seem to be old.
Therefore ask the ASP, and maybe the CD/DVD drive must be replaced.Good bye

Hello
I guess the discs not all burnt gift? t working in this player.
I know that not all media work on all players. In the manual, you should find a list of tested and good work supports.
I recommend that you test the CD and DVD that is recommended in the user's manual. -
The CD/DVD drive does not read discs
Hi, I have a COMPAQ Presario CQ40 with optiarc DVD RW AD - 7561 ATA Device driver, recently the drive does not work properly. It can read and burn the disc, that I already used, but when it's a new (disc white) it does not read the disc. It has an error message "make sure that the disc uses a format windows recognizes. If the drive is not formatted, you must format it before you use it. "the disc is the format that would recognize the system. I tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstalled from the Device Manager, but nothing works, tried too much microsoft fixit, always the same. Hope that there is another work around here... Thank you...
Have you tried using other burning software?
Try this free you see if you receive messages.

Satellite A200-AH5 CD/DVD drive does not burn any CD
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite (A200 AH3) under Windows Vista Home Premium.
For what it's worth, there's a T2085 @ 1.73 GHz processor. It is a 32-bit operating system.
In the Device Manager when I click on the CD/DVD-Rom drives, I get CD/DVGW TSSTcorp TS-L632D ATA Device.
By clicking on this that I find that the driver is working correctly and up-to-date. I was not able to burn a CD on this system...I have not tried to burn a DVD.
I ran through all the steps to burn a CD, however, but even if he goes through the process to show the progress that each song to a playlist is burned to disc, when the disc is supposed to be finalized... nothing on the disc when I try to read, and with the exception of iTunes or another program open when I place the CD in the drive to be played absolutely nothing happens.
I tried to burn music on a CD on the desktop of my sister, and it burned fine.Then... It is not a problem with the discs.
When I took the disc to my sister had burned and placed in the disk drive on my laptop, it displays the tracks that had been burned and he played the music very well. This really threw me a loop for.
The laptop is only a year old and I can not burn anything.Unfortunately, the warranty has expired. I am desperate to get this problem fixed. I don't know if he's going to burn a DVD, but I ruined 2 boxes of CD - R discs already. After disk supposedly burned music... even if no music has been burned... the disc is ruined and must be discarded.
I'm not terribly knowledgeable about aspects of warming of the computers, so I hope you can tell me in general terminology if you answer to my problem. I really hope someone out there can advise me as to what is happening or what I should do to fix the problem.
Thanks for any help in advance!
Thank you.
Gord
CanadaHello
In your case, I recommend trying the different CD s from different manufacturers.
You should know that not all CD or DVD would be fully compatible with your internal CD/DVD drive.
In many cases no compatible CD or DVD would lead to exactly the same problems that you described in your post so trying different media! In addition, I recommend checking the Toshiba driver for a CD/DVD drive update page s firmware.
As I m not wrong not the Satellite A200-AH3 belongs to the Canadian series and you should check the Canadian page for a new firmware. Maybe a new firmware is availableLast but not least, you can switch to other burning software I m using Nero I think it s the best applications for such purposes
