  And check if you have the drivers for win xp for your model, otherwise, it will be useless to install it.

  * Download driver Chicony Webcam drivers from Toshiba Web site section was updated. If you can't find an updated driver, try a new driver of another model of Toshiba.
  * Install the Service Pack 1 of Vista, or Vista Hotfix KB934374: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374 (KB934374 is included in SP1)
  * Update your e-mail software (MSN/Yahoo Messenger, etc...)
  * If you have another program that can use the webcam (e.g. Skype), make sure that they are completely closed and not, sitting in the system tray.
  * Try to close the bar Assistant camera on the left side of the office.
  * To stop the Camera Assistant software from running at startup, run Regedit and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Camera Assistant Software".

  The problems described in your message are certainly caused by drivers XP badly or not installed the Xp drivers.

  The problem is that European Toshiba driver page does not provide drivers XP right now!
  I had the same problem with my laptop A200. I t could not find XP drivers on the page of Tosh and so I went through the XP drivers from the 3rd pages!
  After several time Toshiba has just introduced the XP drivers for my series and I was able to install it.
  I think that it of the case even with your series
  So, if you need some XP drivers and then try the drivers supplied by the chip manufacturer 3rd s sites.

• Qosmio G40-126 - need AC adapter after turn on and Hibernate

  I have a Qosmio G40-126. A few weeks back the keboard stopped to light blue. Now if I want to turn on or resumption of hibernation, I have to connect the laptop to the power source, even if the battery is fully charged. After I turn on I can continue on battery but I can't do anything until what I plug to the power supply to turn on. :_|

  What exactly happens if you try to start Notepad without adapter? It does not start and you get a blank screen or what else?

  It seems that this L955D is a new product on the market and right now, only Win 8 drivers are available for this series.

  Some Toshiba Utilities or tools like value added package could published for the old series (pre-installed with Win 7) could work on this new laptop too you need to test everything simply.
