Quality of the recording in sound recorder?

First of all its amazing how disorganized the settings are in the sound properties in Windows.  You should check about 5 different places. His absurd and shows a total lack of design standards.  End of the rant from Microsoft... :))

I use Sound Recorder and you want to record audio messages I can send it as an attachment instead of typing a lot.  (Apparently Bill Gates does send messages so she probably works well.)  In any case under file properties one can apparently control the sound properties.  It is not clear what is best.  I guess that more the best bitrate and frequency the better. But there are several different formats (PCM, DSP, GSM, Microsoft ADPCM, IMA ADPCM, CCITT with several different settings for each.  Of course, Microsoft provides no info as to the quality or the benefits of each.  Fabulous.  I recorded a few seconds with the default value which I think is PCM 8000 khz, 8-bit, 7 kb per second and the clarity was very good.  But only a few seconds have 3.8 MB!  I then changed to DSP 8000 khz, 1 bit to 1 KB per second and saved a few seconds which took only 15 KB.  It was informative.  The clarity of the second was a bit muffled but easily readable.  I want to become is a little less smothered with a size of about 1 MB per minute 1.  This would be a good compromise.

I'm having a hard time to save a frame as it will appear the settings go back to default, straight after the initial recording or closing Sound Recorder - could someone confirm that?  If all goes well, there is a way to get them to stick.  Otherwise its another Microsoft product for the trash. The settings affect the General sound quality during playback of other programs such as a music player?  Otherwise, this little program is very useful.  They must have it built into Outlook to send audio messages back.

All useful Web sites would be most appreciated.  I don't even know what Google search with the words.  (You know you get big when your company name became a commonly used verb!)

To record a voice message you need not quality.  As long as they can hear you clearly his sufficient.  Seconds resulted in a 27 KB file.  Very clear and legible with background noise pale clearly audible. I use high end (from one) Sennheisser phones (HD650) in Audacity, I followed your advice and put things down.  Bit rate was only 16 years old.  I don't see any other place to take account of quality however. In sound recorder, there are about 30 different quality settings.  Is how important it?  Maybe not.  I have a clarity with a reduced file size. I want?  :)

    Hello

Control Panel - SOUNDS - Audio peripheral devices configuration-manager

Make sure you write down the description and model double click top - tab drivers - write version. Now
Click on update drivers who cannot do anything like MS is far behind the certification of drivers. Then RIGHT
CLICK above and UNINSTALL - REBOOT - this will rebuild the driver stack.

If your driver shows 06 you have the default windows and part of the question.

Go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest Audio/Sound drivers - download - SAVE - go to the place where you
Put them - right click on Reboot - RUN AS ADMIN -.

Check the Version on the tab of the driver in the device as a sound Manager often restoring drivers, then install
the current version. Restart and check after each try, not uncommon to have to run the pilot of 1 to 4 times or more.
Just make sure that the version you have installed appears in the tab of the driver.

Then navigate to the site of the manufacturer of the device and search for the drivers more recent and repeat the installation procedure.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    Hi navnyu,

    (a) what software do you use to record audio? Using Sound Recorder in Windows Vista or any other third-party application?

    (b) what device you use to record audio? Micro analog video camera, CD player and DVD player

You can check the volume settings on the device itself for the volume levels.

Also check the settings of volume (if available) in the recording software

Run the FIXIT available in the link below and check if that helps

I understand that you used the sound recorder in window 8 to make a recording. It allowed you to name and when you open the recorder it is there, but you don't know where it is.

Here is a link to Sound Recorder app for Windows 8: FAQ applies to Windows 8.1, 8.1 RT Windows (Windows). Please click on 'Where are my saved record?' to expand the list.

  • too big to burn disc the recorded tv file

Hi, I have a 5 hour tv program (recorded on Windows Media Center, Windows XP & about 9 GB) I would like to burn to a disc, but the largest disk, I found is 8.5 GB & library will transfer all the data. I am mainly interested to save the 1st 3 hours or so, but don't can't find a way to reduce the actual file in the library. Any suggestions please? Thank you.

    Hello

If you want to burn only the first three hours of the saved file, then you can use Windows Live movie maker and trim video. See the link below which holds information about the same. Windows Live Movie Maker Help Center: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-movie-maker-trim-video-how-faq

If you want to burn the full TV then show you may have to use your favorite search engine and search for a software that will help you to compress the size of the file. But I'm afraid, compress the file size can reduce the quality of the video display.

NOTE: Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be resolved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Tape recorder in XP was FAR superior to Vista. Is there a way to download the recorder XP?

As I said in the title, I have just moved from XP to Vista and was shocked when I opened the tape... one of the MAIN features I use when organizing the music, or the creation of such... I would hum into the microphone, rearrange edit cut paste segments bit (slow, double speed, reverse, two tracks of layer to get a tone of duality...) until I have something that resembled what I wanted, then transpose into a song Editor...  Why did I use so much? He WAS free.

Is it possible to download the OLD version of the tape recorder that was on XP?

    Hello Baereon,

Thank you for posting.  I searched and found that the XP version of the recorder is not available for download at this time.  With regard to the way in which you can get a free version of the software that would have the same characteristics and ability, I would say that you use Bing.com or your search engine preferred to find XP sound recorder.  This should give your various feasible options.

  • Impossible to select the recording device in Audacity

    Audacity preferences

In Audio i/o in Audacity my tent to follow preferences set up the tutorial, the recording device box sucks a selection. Is it because my headphones is not connected at this time? However, just like in the tutorial section playback device IS first filed with the phrase OUTPUT of MAPPING MICROSOFT SOUND. What is c? And, in the tutorial MICROSOFT SOUND INPUT MAPPING is a selection option in the box of the recording device.  In my control PANEL, I double checked my USB audio device is active and functional. Why don't my box preferably says Microsoft Inpu acoustic mapping or something because my webcam is currently connected and it has audio, right? What to do to move forward in the implementation for MP3 at this rate?

    Hi all -

I just got a SONY USB turntable and hooked up with the software (Audio Studio THE), when I recorded it, I picked up a lot of other noise that has mastered the music from the disc.  How can I set my system so that it captures only the record music and not the environmental music?  Thanks in advance

    Laurent of Norwalk

    Hi Laurent,.

    1. have you installed the device USB stereo turntable with success?

There might be some recording settings in the Audio Studio software THE. We recommend that you cross check if all unwanted settings are applied that captures the external sound and change accordingly.
