Question about create Dimension

Hello

I read the document Oracle Concepts and on page 4-22, he presented a statement of 'CREATE the DIMENSION' used to create the "customers_dim" dimension in the example schema SH.

The presented statement is:
CREATE DIMENSION customers_dim
   LEVEL customer IS (customers.cust_id)
   LEVEL city IS (customers.cust_city)
   LEVEL state IS (customers.cust_state_province)
   LEVEL country IS (countries.country_id)
   LEVEL subregion IS (countries.country_subregion)
   LEVEL region IS (countries.country_region)
   HIERARCHY geog_rollup (
     customer CHILD OF
     city CHILD OF
     state CHILD OF
     country CHILD OF
     subregion CHILD OF
     region
JOIN KEY (customers.country_id) REFERENCES country )
  ATTRIBUTE customer DETERMINES
    (cust_first_name, cust_last_name, cust_gender,
    cust_marital_status, cust_year_of_birth,
    cust_income_level, cust_credit_limit)
  ATTRIBUTE country DETERMINES (countries.country_name);
When I published the statement above (Word for word on the document), I got the following error:
SQL> @customers_dim
LEVEL customer IS (customers.cust_id)
      *
ERROR at line 2:
ORA-30371: column cannot define a level in more than one dimension
I found the following using Google:
Cause:     A column was used in the definition of a level after it had already
been used to define a level in a different dimension.
But I do not see how the cust_id is to define a level in several dimensions. There is probably a trivial error somewhere, but I don't know enough yet about the dimensions to understand.

Help is appreciated, thank you,

John.

Hi John,.

There is probably a trivial mistake somewhere

Yes, probably the dimension itself already exists:

select * from all_dimensions where owner = 'SH';

  • Question about time Dimension Type Format

Hello, I've created a repository and I see that my time dimension has a strange format type. When I'm in answers page and click on the year and click "Show results", I see all my years of my database, but in this format:
    2.006
    2007
    2,008
    ...

    And I want to see:
    2006
    2007
    2008 (no period separator)

And also if I'm going to filter my highlights of the year and I click on allchoices... it shows not my years as:
    2006.00
    2007.00
    2008.00

    Everyone knows about it?

    Thank you very much

First check the data type you specified for the year column in the physical layer of the repository. Is this other thing as integers?

  • Question about creating a recovery (file system) USB flash drive

Hello and happy new year to all, (I'm from greeece, sorry for the mistakes of language possible)

    (Pavilion dv6-6c01ev - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - bought 08-21-12)

I want to create a USB stick recovery, and I just bought a USB flash drive 32 GB 3.0 for this reason.

I've never done it before, but I have read how, according to the this page.

    My question is:

What file system must be the USB key, before the decision-making process? FAT32 or NTFS ?

Bought, thati USB file system is FAT32 by default.

I already read that on the page above: 'a message of Recovery Manager opens indicating that the flash drive will be formatted. Click OK to format the USB key and continue. »

but I would like to have, and a more definite answer from someone who knows better.

So, does change the NTFS file system.

or should I now start the manufacturing process of the recovery USB flash drive as it is (FAT32)

    Thank you for your help

I have already created the recovery USB flash drive, and formatted Recovery Manager the disk before the process,

and at the end, when the recovery files was written and verifyed.

I look at the file system of the USB flash drive, and it's NTFS...

    I worried for nothing...

  • question about creating virtual disks on my MD3220i

I create a virtual disk where I put a SQL Server and it asks me to

Choose the type of virtual disk IO characteristics. The file system (typical), database, multimedia and Custom options.

I think the selection of data because it is a SQL Server. However I'm not sure because I have not much of

experience with this. My question is that one should choose or perhaps not even matter?

    Thank you

Being that the VD will be strictly for SQL, then you can go ahead and select the database option. Any other time, you must select the typical option. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Question about creating view

    Hi all

for example, I need to give permission for a user that has select permission on a table, but I need to hide certain columns in the table for that user.

I know for this application there need create a view and assign the columns needed to this point of view, then give

access to select this point of view of a user.

My question is: this view will affect anything if I create? He will take the tablespace volume?

Or there is no effect and I can create?

the table to which it is necessary to create point of view is very large.

A view is nothing else than a stored query, so no, it's not going to take place to create, with the exception of a very trivial amount of space in the data dictionary to store the definition.

    Hello Jane

When you create the recovery disc, saved on your laptop recovery image will be copied to the disk. This recovery image contains the operating system, all the drivers necessary, Toshiba specific tools and utilities, and also some additional software.

    Windows 8.
Please, let us know what model of laptop you have exactly and what you want to do exactly. WIN8 update maybe?

  • Questions about creating a list of directories.

I am aware that it is possible to create a list of directories and how to add items to the list in Windows Explorer.

One of the points that I would like to add is the type of Compression that is displayed in the details pane of the properties listing of image files.  So far I could not find a way to do it and apparently no printed programs and list directory available (the least the ones I tried) will be either.

Any suggestions as to how this can be done will be appreciated.

  • Question about creating discs of recovery on the new desktop

you just bought a 8 hp pav p7.1003wb office gig / 1 TB hard drive. Windows 7-64 bit, that I will need to make recovery disks because they are no longer included.

should I have separate recovery of my regular backup discs? and what is better to use ie., cdr - rw, flash drive, and it should be 1 TB? I have a 16 GB flash stick that I currently keep my personal files. I looked at a few external drives too and just confused myself as to what I need. Currently, I got for my old desktop (a gateway 2001) which came with recovery disks and then I would back up all the files that I had to keep on my flash stick.

I'm sorry I'm a little computer illiterate, and I can't follow the rapid technological change and hope someone can explain to me on my level... Thank you!

    hanj454,

Part 1, the medis recovery was a very simple question:http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867124

Please be advised that it is not on DVD + R media. Shouldn't RW.

Part2, backup: you can keep it as simple with copies on important files flash drive.

  • Question about creating a diagram of flow/tape combo in a FMS dashboard

    Hello

I searched it but found no matches.

How to create a flow indicator combo + graphic Strip in a FMS dashboard like what is shown below?  This was taken from the dashboard of the hosts for an agent of Linux operating system.

    Thank you

    "mark".

Confirmed. This is the component view Flow Gauge . You can create and configure in WCF. A combined view of provision as the screenshot you posted could be created as a portlet drag - déposer takes it a host as context.

  • Question about creating your own custom mouse clicks

    Greetings,

I'm curious to know if custom mouse clicks are limited to a stage of 50x50px?  I was going to change any of the existing clicks of mouse 80x80px argue, but thought that someone else has probably played with that and could know if it will work on top of their head.  The existing mouse clicks are barely noticeable when you are working in a large format.

    Thank you

    Randy

Yes, what I then play with the action of real click that appears under 'Show mouse click' custom.  I tried last night with a larger swf of the click of the mouse to 80 x 80 I created in Flash and it worked like a charm.

    Thank you

    Hi all

I had a problem on the creation of an index on the view

    create index sys_ixf_viewpnuc_03 on view_pnuc (ugcode | privatenum);

    It's the sql I've run pl/sql

the result of the server is:
    SQL error: ORA-01702
    01702 00000 - "a view is not appropriate here.

Thanks for giving me a helping hand

    TKS

    Hello

You can not use the index on the view...

better, you can create a view with the best of the select statement with the specified indexed column...

Since then, the view is nothing other than a select statement. If any changes in the index, alter in the table and create a consequence of the view...

canno't ' t you create an index on a view except the materialized view

    Kind regards
