Question about mixup Chipset Driver

Howdy all,

I got a s10-2 with a processor n280 during holidays, and after playing for a bit with Windows 7 Starter, I decided that I wanted to install my copy of Windows 7 Professional.  Is a full retail version, I had bought to use on my laptop, and then said laptop died in November before I had the chance.

I saved the factory disk partitions on my desk, then carried my Windows 7 dvd on a USB key.  I installed the USB, wiping the partitions in the process.  Used my product key for Win 7 Professional, everything worked fine.

Then, when you download the drivers for the s10-2, I had a moment of emptiness because I accidentally chose s10 instead of s10 - 2.  Fortunately, I caught my mistake until I downloaded all the drivers.  Unfortunately, I used my home network to begin the installation of the first download I passed until I realize my mistake; which was of course for the chipset drivers.

Looking through the s10-2 downloads, there is no driver chipset for windows 7 OS.  However, there was a driver chipset for windows 7 under s10 and that's what I installed by accident.  The netbook works, but I have never made such an error, so I don't know what to expect.  The drivers of the chipset of the s10 will be used, or windows 7 will simply continue to use any drivers that he first used?  I guess he has the appropriate drivers built in as, as mentioned, there is just no downloads s10-2 for win 7 platform.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.  Do the measures must be taken (reinstallation of win 7 / removing the s10 drivers), or windows 7 will ignore the s10 drivers and continue driving the s10-2 itself?

Thanks to all who can help.  No driver more download at 01:00 for me.

-Dave

Hi and welcome to lenovo forum...

S9/S9e/S10/S10e/S10-4333/S10-2 & S12 (Intel) use the same platform, so it does nothing... all the basic driver could be used...

Chipset... Graphics... Audio... LAN... WLan... Establishment...

some of this machines comes with Bluetooth & WWAN... still the driver or...

In Windows 7 you can use the driver or not, because most of them came out of the standard box...

Install Windows 7. such update of Windows 7... & to seek what continues to devicemanager, is there a questionmark? in all cases, the institution must be installed (Power Manager f/Eve / on-screen display (Menu volume/BRIGHTNESS/Wireless/WebCam on it in the distance...)) ...

Then you can decide if you can live with the delivered Windows 7 driver or install (last driver to the most recent!) the driver from lenovo download page...

hope that make something more clear on windows 7...

    Hello

I just the A210-14. All in all a laptop very well I can say so far :)

Got three questions/problems with it if:

    1. even if it should support the memory DDR2 - 667 Mhz, memory works only to a maximum of 600 Mhz, even when parameters are activated with High Performance and running with... quite strange food, necessary fix BIOS?

    2. the screen turns white everytime some time and a message appears that the ATI driver should reset itself. New ATI drivers necessary? As far I can tell the most recent is those who come with the book...

    3. in the activation of the Dualpad, it will not turn off. By pushing the button, it stays in Dualmode :(

Suggestions, confirmation or info, ongoing work would be much appreciated.

I am trying to answer your questions, maybe my knowledge how can help you...

    1. How do you measure it? Perhaps with memtest or with cpu - z? Would be interesting because these tools do not support very well mobile chipsets. The other thing is that any level of performance, you, the frontsidebus is likely dynamically, but I'm not an engineer intel, so I can't give you a 100% response.

  • Question about the graphics driver

Okay so just close a week ago my laptop (ASUS K55a) has decided to freeze on me while I look a a video on youtube (essentially what I normally do after obtaining of reception class at night). After that, however, I turn on my laptop after forcing him to stop and while the mouse was mobile, I couldn't click on anything whatsoever. Its as if it was running, it took, the incredibly long just at startup and when he did, loading everything and takes a lot of time.  (I rebooted once a couple and even started in safe mode, nothing seemed to work)

So the next day I decide the best option here is to reformat because I really can't do anything else to my knowledge base. After reformatting all, it seems to work very well, but here's the problem: whenever I try to install the graphics driver updated on the computer I get this error:

He had what appeared to be some kind of basic graphic driver, but after searching for the name of this driver, the solution was that this particular driver was related to corruption. (Also to try to get windows to update this basic driver, he would sit there for about 10 minutes then would proceed in a BSOD).

We need the DMP file because it contains the single record of the sequence of events that led to the accident, what drivers have been loaded, and what has been loaded.

WE NEED AT LEAST TWO FILES DMP TO SPOT TRENDS AND TO CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS.

If you're overclocking (pushing components beyond their design) return you to default at least until the crash is resolved. If you don't know what it is that you're probably not overclocking.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting in SafeMode (F8) with networking.
If you are overclocking stop.  (chances are that if you are unsure if you are, you are not)

  • Satellite Pro A120-107: Question about upgrade HARD drive

    Hello world

I have a 120-107 I am generally satisfied but the hard drive is too small and I think the upgrade in about 100 GB. What should I look for when buying? Any suggestions on the best drive to get? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

    Hello

"you just have to take care, that you buy a Sata Drive in the"form factor"2.5". That's all.
As I know, the biggest that drive was delivered with this machine was a 120 GB SATA drive.

Regarding the manufacturer: do not hesitate to take all the manufacturers that you like. The best would be Toshiba at all ;)

  • Satellite A200-1CR: Question about upgrade HARD drive

    Hi all...
I would like to ask something...

I have toshiba Satellite A200-1cr with 120 GB HARD drive...

I would like to change my HARD drive. I found a disk hard 2.5 "with 250 GB.

    My questions are the following:

    (1) my knowledge of the workstations are very very good. Is it easy to change myself?
I guess it is, but I want to be sure... I guess that is on IDE, right? No SATA at all?

    (2) if I changed it I lose my warranty?

    (3) can I give my laptop Toshiba in Greece official store and let them make the change?
May I take in an informal shop, too?

    (4) can be put on the laptop 2 x 250 GB such US new computers laptops from toshiba?
Is there enough space in the laptop for such a change?

    Thank you in advance...

    Hey Buddy

It is good that ask you the question.

    (1) the Satellite A200-1CR supports SATA and no IDE interface and that's why you need a SATA HDD. It of really not difficult to replace the HARD drive and as far as I know, you should find a few details in the user manual. There is a useful statement and photos that explain the entire procedure.

    (2) hm AFAIK the drive replacement HARD will not void the warranty, and has no effect on the State of security.

    (3) you can also contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country for a HARD drive replacement, but in my opinion that is not really necessary because the replacement is not very sensitive. As I said above, check the user manual.

    (4) I don t think that your laptop will support 2 x 250 GB HARD drive.
Of course, there are a few other series laptops which are abele to support two hard drives but I n t think that your laptop A200 support.

Just a small comment on the new HARD drive:
The fact is that some more HARD drive are not supported by the BIOS. I mean an upgrade to 120 GB to 250 GB drive HARD is really a leap one possibly your BIOS would not recognize the HARD drive correctly.
So I recommend to test the HDD first before buying.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P200-1BA - questions about the HARD drive RAM upgrade

There is a 2nd internal HARD drive Bay, but not a female connector. Can I install it? How?
There are 2 slots for RAM, all together 2 GB. Is it possible to exit an and instead place a token 2 GB to 3 GB total or should I always double channel pair RAM?

It is not possible to install the second HARD drive. The laptop box is universal for all models P200, but some of them are delivered with 2 drives hard HDD upgrade is not possible.

With the RAM modules, you can do what you want. To be more precise, YES! You can remove a 1 GB module and put 2 GB RAM. Please just use high quality Rams and not some products without name at low cost.

Would be nice to get some tips on this thanks.

    Hello

I downloaded the user manual for this laptop from the Toshiba page and it says that you can use the 160 GB HARD drive.
I think that he n t be a problem to use a bigger like 200 HDD or 250 GB.

Sat P100 supports a SATA HDD controller and you should therefore use the HARD drive 2.5 SATA.

  • Satellite Pro A10: Question about upgrade HARD drive

I want a bigger hard drive, but xp home edition preinstalled. If I change the hard drive I don't think that the recovery disc would work to re install xp. How can I do this without having to buy a new version of windows? Oh, it's a portable satellite pro spa10.

Sorry, but why you are suggesting that the recovery CD will not recognize the new HARD drive?
The fact is that if the BIOS will recognize the new HARD drive then you will have no problem for the recovery and the installation of the OS.

If you want to upgrade the HARD drive, you must use a compatible. Then everything simply initialize-towards the top of the recovery CD and the operating system will install on the new HD disc.

  • Question about graphics card driver updates on Satellite U300 series

I am installing Spyder2 Pro on Vista Home premium 32-bit, but I have problems with this load in CS2. I contacted Colorvision and they suggested that if the video card is more than 6 months old I would need the last update. I searched toshiba/intel Web sites and could not update, when I download and try to install it I have the version more up-to-date, which is 7.14.10.1263.

    Can anyone help!

    Hello

I think you probably have an error during the download of the driver. As I know the latest version of the Intel VGA for Vista Home Premium 32 Bit drivers is '7.14.10.1409 '. Please click [HERE: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2301&OS FullName = windowsvista + * + Home + Premium % 2 C + 32 - bits + version & lang = eng & strOSs = 153 & submit = Go % 21] and download this driver to update your graphics driver to the latest version.

I tried for awhile get a new hard drive for my 102 S1900. I think I found one, but don't know if it will fit. The person told me that it fits in a Toshiba but that was all. It's a 80 GB 2.5 "9 mm 4200 RPM IDE laptop hard drive. Will this work in my model? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

the problem here is not if the HARD drive will fit in the notebook or not (BTW it will be).
The problem is if the BIOS can recognize hard drives with this ability. And I think that it is not.
But maybe there is a new version of the BIOS available.

prior to thank you for your support

    Hello

It is very unlikely that the 100 or 120 GB HARD drive works.
I guess that the BIOS will not recognize these hard disks.
I don't officials documents found on the hard drives supported, but I think that the 60 GB HARD drive is the biggest HARD drive that works on the Satellite Pro 2100.

So, I bought a Satellite L850 as twe weeks and I am yet to know which driver do I need.
I mean, it's better is one that comes with Windows Update or do I need to download it myself? I can watch videos and play games pretty decently while I don't mind so far.

    > I mean, it's better is one that comes with Windows Update or do I need to download it myself?

The Toshiba driver page driver is usually the right one. Updated the and designed for the use of the laptop.
But if don t have problems even while playing the game, don t change. You know: never change a system running ;)
