Question camera & Modem pointing Satellite M100

I have the Satellite M100 with Vista operating systems. When I changed the operating system a few days ago, there was a lot of drivers that have not yet been installed...
Then I downloaded & installed the drivers from this site...

But even now, there are 2 drivers that might not be installed correctly: * POINTANT DEVICE * (I can't use the mouse, but my touch pad works) & * MODEM DEVICE ON HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO BUS * (I can not connect to the internet via dial-up modem)

Any ideas how to solve this problem? Thanx before...

Pointing device, I think you need to install the chipset drivers and check again, if you have installed any drivers, amenities and followed the installation instructions.

For Modem device, what you should you ensure you installed KB888111, KB835221. His work?
Installed all Windows updates?

    Hi people,

I want to format my laptop, which is a Toshiba Satellite M 100-222. The problem is that I don't have any CD with it when I bought it.
Didn't I need the driver of the motherboard? If Yes, where can I get it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Simon

Has your laptop HDD recovery? Please check and create recovery DVDs before you install another operating system.

By the way: all the drivers, you can find on Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

  • Satellite M100: question the CIR and IRDA

    Hi all
I am the proud owner of a Satellite M100, I bought in Australia.

My question is about the CIR port that is used by a remote that came with the laptop.

I thought that it was possible to use this port for normal IRDA connections (in this case, a mobile phone Nokia 6610i) but I can find no documentation to prove this in both directions. the software Nokia PC Suite tells me I have no infrared port, and this is coroborated by none of the infrared devices in Device Manager.

Here are all the tools/programs/drivers I can use to get my CIR port to work as more than one port for my remote?

any input would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

No, there is no software and it s not possible to do this.
The fact is that the IrDA port is not available on this device.
The only way to use this feature is to buy a USB-IrDA adapter.

  • Question about HDD temperature on Satellite M100-165

My Hitachi 80 GB HDD on Satellite M100-165 is getting very hot. 50 - 55 c in general using Windows. And warmer that I see is 59.

Is that normal values for M100?

    Hello

How did you check this temperature? Did you use the 3rd party applications?
To my knowledge, these applications don't provide a temperature exactly.

Anyway, in my view the 55-60 ° C is not very hot for a HARD drive. You know that the temperature is dynamically the value and depends on how fast and time the HARD disk rotates.
The HARD disk also turns when you use Notepad with General Windows applications and access the OS from the HARD drive.

The temperature may also increase because the other parties such as the processor and graphics card produces heat. This temperature can increase the temperature of the HARD disk level.

PS: The specifications are supported protection against overheating. If the temperature is too high the laptop will automatically stops.

  • Two questions with Satellite M100

I have a Satellite m100 2 years and I m meet the following problems, please help

1 power switch turns on only if I plug the laptop

    2. during boot, I get a message. Insert the media. So what I do is insert a DVD into the CD drive. The movie will then play. I then turns off the computer and then open it again to windows xp start.

    3. once I m, while using the laptop, or the Toshiba DVD player will automatically start (if I forgot to remove the DVD inserted in the No. 2) or windows media player will automatically start. Even if I quit windows media player, it will open automatically.

    Pls help.

    Hello

    > The switch turns on only if I plug the laptop
What you plug in? Do you mean the AC/DC adapter?
If so does that mean you can only start Notepad with AC/DC adapter?

    > When starting, I get a message. Insert the media. So what I do is insert a DVD into the CD drive. The movie will then play. I then turns off the computer and then open it again to windows xp start.
    It's a bit confusing
When you get the message insert media?
And why you must restart the laptop to boot XP if you can play a movie before?

Boyfriend sorry but it's really hard to understand. You should try to explain it in clear words and other phrases.

  • Discussion of 'Windows 7' on Satellite M100-222 - complete

Good day everyone! This post on 'Windows 7' on 'Toshiba' 'Satellite' M100-222.

Perhaps, this method (and as some drivers & utilities) will be to apply successfully for other models M100 "Satellites". Because some very similar models on the technical level. For example, 'Satellite' M100-221 & ect. I want to share & discuss. Because reliable information and a practical guide on this subject on the Internet is virtually absent... or little information is not completely. I am having some problems. With these questions, I want to share. Perhaps, we will find a correct solution together. Please, join... Then...

    First of all, the BIOS update! This is necessary for 'Windows 7' If your BIOS version 3.00 update - Toshiba Satellite M100 BIOS update v5.60;

Before install "Windows 7"... I updated my BIOS (v3.00) to v5.60 - Toshiba Satellite M100 BIOS update v5.60
I did it by 'Windows' XP Pro x 32... Executable file simply run it and follow the steps.

    Note:
There is two years that I posted the question in the present case (forums.computers.toshiba - Europe.com) on my CCF. Clock in the BIOS (I forgot the BIOS version. Original BIOS, I bought my laptop & no has not updated the BIOS then) was frozen. Sometimes the time indicators worked, sometimes not. Very little time. But indicators stood also hours. Time passing in the system. In the frozen BIOS - 13:13:13, for example. Can I update the BIOS - v3.00, I hope my CCF works again. Nothing... Two years, I worked with frozen CCF. Every day I corrected time in the BIOS manually. Seconds are frozen... Sometimes the time work... But really the time in the BIOS has been frozen. I know this isn't the RTC battery problem. Physycally battery is normal. I knew that it is a BIOS problem. Because tests revealed it - physycally battery is normal. BIOS no error message. As the problem of the RTC... Some gave advice on the forum, and I'm not a beginner... Nothing... The BIOS time is frozen...

Thinking about upgrading the BIOS to... 'Toshiba' added value package v1.2.40 (Win7 x 32)... When installing I get the error message - 0x8146045B
Tried to install different versions of "Toshiba" extra package. Same error... Guessed the BIOS update! Among the drivers & utilities in site 'Toshiba' BIOS for 'Windows 7 ' offer for Satellite M100 (PSMA1E) v3.00. But BIOS v5.60 shown for 'Windows' "Vista". Same platform, same core with 'Windows 7' (theoretically)... Basic logical approach! I downloaded & updated BIOS - v5.60! Great! BIOS has been updated... Perhaps, "Toshiba" value added package will install properly. I hope. I wait a few seconds after the system shuts down. I turn on my laptop & press F2 - looked at BIOS... Incredible... First of all, I've seen - seconds in my clock BIOS runs again! Each of us felt a sense of joy! But after two years... The BIOS time worked again! So, it's amazing! But don't be naïve. Certainly, there is a scientific explanation. I mean the BIOS update can help solve similar problems. But everything has to be studied in detail. After BIOS update, I installed "Toshiba" value package v1.2.40 (Win7 x 32)

Then I found & download drivers & utilities. I checked with compatibility in "Windows 7". For two 'Windows 7' - x 32 & x 64 platforms... I'll find some utilities - Touch "Toshiba" & launch, its virtual, DVD - RAM software "Toshiba", silent acoustics, also central control Catalyst "ATI"... Here's a question open for me. But no problem, it's easy willingness...

    Then I install "Windows 7" x 64 ultimate (I managed to install "Windows 7" x 32 & drivers, before utilities).

    Always install the following drivers:

    Intel Chipset device software v9.2.0.1021 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    ATI Mobility Radeon X 1400 driver (Win7 x 32) or for (x 64 Win7) - requirement (download it on - http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx & extract to the folder using any archivators.) Then update the VGA Standard of this folder drivers);

    Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs vR2.57 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    ALPS Electric pointing device driver v7.x5.303.117 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Intel (r) PROSetWireless drivers v13.4.0.139 (Win7 x 32) or (x 64 Win7) - requirement;

    Texas Instruments integrated flash media controller driver v2.0.0.8 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Toshiba Bluetooth stack v8.00.02 (Win7 x 32) or (x 64 Win7) - requirement;

    Toshiba registry patch for storage config v1.0 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Toshiba registry patch for Win7 devices & Printers v1.2 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Toshiba SD utilities v1.8.1.8 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Toshiba Software modem v2.2.97 (SM2297ALD05) (Win7 x 32) or Toshiba Software modem v2.2.97 (SM2297ALS05) (Win7 x 64) - requirement;

    Toshiba v1.0.25.5C utility driver support (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Toshiba value added package v1.2.40 (Win7 x 32) or (x 64 Win7) - requirement;

    Of Toshiba Flash cards support utility v1.63.0.4C (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    V4.01.00 Toshiba Assist (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Toshiba TEMPRO v3.3.4 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    V8.0.23 TOSHIBA ConfigFree (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Intel (r) PROSetWireless software (Win7 x 32) or (x 64 Win7) - requirement;

    Toshiba Software modem region Select utility v2.3.0.13 (Win 7 x 32 & x64);)

    Toshiba supervisor password utility v3.0.1.0 (Win7 x 32 & x64);)

    Toshiba Hardware setup utility v1.63.0.32C (Win7 x 32 & x 64).

During system reboot do the install & updates!

And please, I beg you, help for the next:

Everything worked fine! But yesterday I had the installation of material of "Toshiba" and receive the runtime error message! I know that "Toshiba" HW should be compatibility with BIOS! Please tell, anyone know what version "Toshiba" HW compatibility with "Toshiba" 'Satellite' M100-222? Or 'Satellite' model M100?

And... problems beetwen Toshiba value added utility support package & Toshiba Flash cards! Flash cards do not work... I uninstall both and reinstall again... Same situation... A few days ago worked well... But not now... I don't remember, maybe change the configurations in the settings of Flash cards... Do not remember... Help to solve these problems. It is very important!

For example, I looked for laptop Satellite A500 - Toshiba value added package v1.2.26.64 (Win7 x 64) & complect Toshiba Flash cards support utility (Win x 64) v1.63.0.4C! Perhaps, Toshiba value added package v1.2.40 (Win7 x 64) incompatibility with Toshiba Flash cards support utility v1.63.0.4C (Win x 64)? Versions, I think that...

Does anyone has any information about these utilities for platform "Windows 7":

    "Toshiba" Touch & launch;
    'Toshiba' virtual sound;
    DVD - RAM software;
    Acoustic silencer.

and "ATI" Catalyst control center... For the full control "ATI" Mobility Radeon X 1400 graphics adapter "Windows 7". I can only update the graphics card drivers. But do not know which version is the compatibility with the graphics card "ATI" Mobility Radeon X 1400 "Windows 7".

Thank you! I have very little time... Lots to do! I will try to fill the drivers on sharing files or torrent. But for this I need to collect all the drivers and utilities. I have to check. Week of rest, I set to work and share with you what I could.

    Thanks again!

    Hello Gabriel

You wrote a very interesting announcement, but, as you can see, almost ten days later there is no one comment. From time to time I m here in this forum and I have noticed that people are not interested to read these stories.
Problem is that you gave a lot of information and who should write the serious answer must create real concept how to proceed and has spent a lot of time for the full discussion.

I put also t have time for an in-depth analysis, but what I can say is follow:
If you want to install more recent OS on the old model of laptop as a first step, you should check if your model (your is PSMA1E) is supported for the operating system you want to install. I can see your model is not supported for 64-bit OS, just for 32 bit Win7.

    So what to do?
You must have a list of all hardware components and try to install the drivers available for other models of laptops. Some 64 bit Vista drivers can be used on Win7. HwSetup designed for 64-bit Vista should work fine on your Win7 installation. I did several times in the past, and each time it worked fine.

Toshiba touch & maybe I get m wrong but this old tools is known to me for WXP only. I've never seen in Vista or Win7.
Virtual sound the same as for T & l. it was designed for Windows XP Home edition only.
Two others can be also for WXP only.

If you don t have such tools for Vista you'll them for Win7 too.

  • Satellite M100-180: where can I find drivers for Win 2003 Server?

We bought a Microsoft Windows 2003 server. I have install then on our laptop Toshiba Satellite M100-180 PSMA1E-02Q00WRU.

With the laptop, I found Windows XP CD and Express media player recovery CD Reanimator. No disc drivers there. May be dealer lost drivers disk? If that - where can I get new CD of drivers (I am from Russia, Smolensk)

I try to download the drivers from the web (toshiba.com.ru), but they are very large (I have a dial-up internet). Then I download driver modem (4M). Installation of the works, but no modem appear after that. And no serial port too.

I plug the USB-serial converter and install Standart Modem (USR external). Then I have to connect to the internet and try to download the drivers with windows update. No results...

    HEEEEEEELP ME! :)

PS Sorry for my English :)

    Hello

: D the dealer nothing lost! The pilot tools & utilities can be created in the Windows XP operating system that came with the laptop.
With the help of Toshiba, you will find a Protect & Fix tab and the option to create a driver disk ;)

Further, all the XP drivers are placed on the page of the Toshiba driver. But unfortunately, nothing for Win 2003 server.
Maybe test it works for XP drivers also on Server 2003

  • Install Windows 7 on the Satellite M100

I have the Satellite M100-JG2 (PSMA0C-JG200E). I would like to install Windows 7. The Toshiba does not list the compatible M100. The Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor points on certain issues, but I don't know how it's easy to overcome them.

I read on another forum that the touchpad does not work after the upgrade, but this was solved by installing a Synaptics driver. Otherwise, I see people announced the upgrade succeeded with no other info. Can someone tell me if they have been successful or not to undertake this upgrade, all the problems that they led in to and how they have solved their?

The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor provides the following information (I remove personal programs):
All the systems pass (I have only 1 GB of RAM if, so do not know if it is too little, even if it is passed)
    Pass all devices

    Program questions:
TOSHIBA ConfigFree version 5.90.05 (don't know if I still need this)
    Version 1.39.0.4C of TOSHIBA hardware
    1.39.0.5C TOSHIBA supervisor password version
TOSHIBA Alps Pointing - device Driver version 6.0.2.186 (is this touchpad)
Version client and Host Security Platform 104.0.14.2

Any help or advice would be welcome before I attempt this upgrade.

    Thank you!

Win 7 Vientiane does not contain Flash cards! You must install separately.

Take a look on the Satellite L500 driver area.
You'll find the VAP and Flash Card Utility for Win7

I recommend reinstall these two tools again

    Welcome them

  • WXP on Satellite M100 - internet connection

    Hello Hello

I reformatted everything my friends Satellite M100 with XP (he was thrown out because he couldn't make it work) and I decided that I would fix it for another friend s daughter.
Restructuring went well but I can not all internet to work on it at all. I don't know if I need new drivers or what the case really is. I've never been good working with the networks, but I really want to give it a try because I think it would be a good thing for her to learn to use a computer.

I tried wired connection through the router and connect to our wireless network but have not had the success that it is. Anyone could offer me some tips as to what the next step?
I clicked through all of the assistants to network and all that, but nothing seems to work!

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    > In Device Manager in the other devices section all controllers have a yellow question mark (biometric compressor, Ethernet controller, mass storage controller, network controller, PCI controller, SM Bus controller, video controller, VGA compatible video controller).

There are many pilots lack of boyfriend.
First of all, I think that you cannot connect to the router because LAN and WLan driver was not preinstalled!
-Controller Ethernet means WLAN and you need driver WLAN
-Network controller means LAN and you need driver LAN
-Video controller and you average graphics card need driver graphics card
    - And so on.

Here is the page of the Toshiba driver:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

    Choose here the archives-> Satellite-> Satellite M-> Satellite M100
You will get all the Win XP drivers for this series

Install all the necessary drivers. No yellow exclamation point must appear in the Device Manager!

  • Satellite M100 with chipset issues

I bought myself a M100 a month ago and have been happy with it to the point that I decided to extend its capabilities by purchasing a network card wireless with the (so-called) greater range and speed.

My problem is with the windows way initialization handles - it gives me an error Code 10, which is apparently average Microsofts to say no, we cannot give you any more resources to do this.

In addition, I also read that this may be the result of the Intel Centrino chipset. Toshiba wireless (intel) is based on a chipset Atheros, and is so the new device i've got... This is in itself a potential conflict.

My question is - how do I free up resources (or disable the internal Wi - Fi connection) so I can use this new feature? (if it is infact the problem)

Microsoft say they have a "fix" specially for this problem, but you will have to send (IE pay them) to get it. I think that this is unacceptable.

    I use:
    Satellite M100
    D Link DWL-G650M (108 G MIMO Wireless adapter) (PCMCIA)

any input in solving this would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Hello

M100 is unknown to me, but it should be similar with Satellite A100. You're right about the WiFi card. Initially, the set comes with the Atheros WiFi card supporting the network 802.11ag. This means that you can use the network wireless with 54 MBit per second. As far as I know, this is the latest standard used on the various laptop models.

What WiFi card that you want to use (speed, internal or external)?

  • Lose Satellite M100 PSMA0A time but no date.

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite M100 (PSMA0A-0J4002), who has problems with the hold time. He lost several hours in normal operation (mains or battery power or even with no battery and only AC). It stops when the computer goes into hibernation or is disabled.

My Windows time zones are correct and I turned off automatic updates of internet time too.
The strange thing is that the date never changes! It's not 1980 or similar when the battery is removed. That means it's not the CMOS battery?
I disassembled the laptop looking for the CMOS battery, but it is soldered in. Is this correct?

I don't know if it's relevant or related, but sometimes the screen turns black after emerging from hibernation and the laptop must be turned off and when he comes back he asked something like: clear memory and reboot or restart.
I have to choose erase the memory and restart. Very rarely, I also have the blue screen of death with count upwards saying that memory dumping (I think).

I deleted my firewall and AV programs but still lost time.

Anyone is able to help please?
Is it likely to be material, battery CMOS or software?

    Thanks in anticipation!
    Lewis

    > I disassembled the laptop looking for the CMOS battery, but it is soldered in. Is this correct?
I m not very well how it s mounted on laptop M100, but in many cases the CMOS batteries are not easy to remove it s always a job for technicians of the ASP

The issue of the date and time may be linked to the CMOS battery
Usually, you can charge this battery easily.
In order to load the CMOS battery, the laptop must be connected to the power adapter and the laptop must cover more than 20hours.
After that the CMOS battery needs to be recharged.

But if the question seems yet, then you should check if the update of the BIOS might help if not it s a motherboard problem that should be checked by a technician of laptop!

  • Satellite M100-233: stops right after the "XP" logo

    Hello
I have a Satellite M100-233 with XP Home Edition SP3 (in Portuguese)
When it is connected to the mains and the battery is not fully charged, sometimes the yellow light does not shine.
Check the voltmeter application when this happens, tells me that the battery is on, the energy source is the sector, but the battery runs down.
As I continue to use the laptop, the amount of the battery is reported as progressively less, until he tends to zero, then the laptop just turned off, as if she was not connected to the mains.
Even if I start with the battery charged to 100%, after a couple of hours (sometimes more, sometimes less) the same thing happens.

From an authorized dealer, they told me that it was probably a short battery shorted out.

Get not that: * if she take the battery out of the laptop and turn it on:
-Most of the time it turns off right after the "XP" logo.
-It seems that this happens more often when the battery was fully charged the last time that I used it (strange! "I imagine this?)
-Also sometimes happens after that I use the laptop for a while

The only unusual bios message I get is "no TPM or TPM has a problem." I guess it has to do with the cryptographic protection, so I imagine that this has nothing to do with this issue.
About two years ago, there was a problem with the battery (it ceased to be recognized as present by the laptop) which has been repaired under warranty: they told me that they had replaced the motherboard then. However, at this time there that I could continue to work normally without the battery, which is not the case now.

I would be grateful for any advice. The most annoying is that this problem follows an irregular pattern, and the diagnosis, the dealer gave me seems hard to believe. As I use my laptop to collect data for research abroad, it is quite a risk for me to use it if I can't be sure when it will turn off on its own.

    Hello

To be honest, I doubt that anyone here in the forum would be able to provide an exactly the answer to this question
I think that it of almost impossible to say what's wrong without running any hardware checks.

But to me it looks like a card mother number possibly it s power of electronic power supply which is part of the motherboard.

What to say, maybe you need a new motherboard, but the new mobo is an expensive item, and in my opinion, you should first check if it is s to replace the motherboard or buy a laptop second hand for the same money.

I m planning to install Windows 8. But my main reason for uncertainty - drivers. Are the drivers for compatibility Windows 7 to Windows 8?

Look at my old job round install Windows 7 on Toshiba Satellite M100-222

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=59947&TSTART=0

I think that on this forum we have relationships not so much about Win8 installing on old machines. For three months, I have U940 satellite. I got it with Win8 but after only one month I installed Win7.

I imagine that you are curious about Win8 on this old model. Problem is that there is no support for this older model laptop and it will be very difficult to get everything working. I think you shoul d stay with Win7, but if you install Win8 please post a report and let know us how it works.

It may be useful for other people who have older machines.

  • Satellite M100-180: put wrong password - error now 'system off 65017 '.

I had technical problems with my Toshiba Satellite M100-180.

Let me tell you a story.

    I bought my laptop on 13/12/2006 model is Toshiba Satellite M100 - 180 T2600 (2.16) G 1/100; Card mother HAQAA.

So, a month ago my laptop could not start due to asking me a password. HM... I never put the password on my laptop. So, I had brought my Toshiba at the center of service to this problem. So they tried they couldn't achieve success even if they strap the CMOS_CLR1.

Triple entering the wrong password my laptop gives this message: "system disabled 65017." So, as my Toshiba warranty is the guy in the service center have offered to replace the motherboard.

It seems too expensive, given that I could buy another new laptop (okay, it will, no doubt) for that price.
Really, I don't like this idea, because it's too expensive and I like really my laptop.

The guys in the service center said my private that, most likely, there is the content of the EEPROM was twisted. And if I'm going to find the same other portable executables, they could use his image from EEPROM to save my Toshiba.
    So, the question is.

Where to find this EEPROM image that fits my phone or how to solve the problem?

Please, help me, it's a question of work and success.
Please, I beg you. I'm really in despair...

    I know you answer.

    Hi mate

I think the guy meant the ROM module that is part of the motherboard and BIOS there maybe stored such ROM module needs to be replaced and would avoid the replacement of the motherboard
But this is only my personal opinion

Maybe you could buy a second-hand M100 where the motherboard is not too bad then just the motherboard could be changed and would not be expensive as new motherboard

    Hello

My Satellite M100 has a problem with the power. He has started about a month ago, when my computer turns off suddenly, and the power light is the only one left on, no battery light. The problem seemed to disappear, but recently the gaming laptop upward again. It stops randomly, or the power led will Flash quickly. And the battery light will turn on for half a second and turn off.

    Any ideas, thanks in advance

Very strange but sounds like something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard.
If the power led starts flashing then that would mean that a material error has been detected on the motherboard

    But just a question;
Are you able to use the laptop connected only to battery or only adapter?
    Problems of charging the battery?
