• Question of stupid graph OBIEE 11 g

  Hi, I have a really stupid question of the graphic on OBIEE 11g. I have the following in the criteria tab:
  
  Fiscal year
  Accounting period
  Business unit
  Spend the amount
  
  I want to do a simple line chart showing Plastica as a command prompt, the 4 exercises like colors of different lines, 12 accounting periods as the horizontal axis and the amount of expenses such as the vertical axis. Sounds simple enough, but no matter what I do, I am unable to move the "measure of labels" tile in the graphic editing page. It seems to be 'locked' in the lowest position of the "Group By" box. I don't seem to be able to move it, exclude, etc..
  
  The problem is the presentation is as follows: through the axis labels, instead of just saying "1" to "12", all end up by saying '1 spending amount', 'amount to spend 2', 'amount to spend 3', etc.. This puts a shit ton of excess there and it is difficult to read the axis (if you are in a few Stephen, it will add it detaches completely in the eyes of the data area of the chart, where they should be). In addition, since the "chart title" and "The Vertical axis title" already say 'Spend the amount' - it is completely useless. When I look at the properties of the graph for the 'Horizontal axis title' it just says: "Accounting period", not "measure Lable + accounting period".
  
  Can anyone help - it's super basic, but it's driving me crazy and the graphic is horrible.

  Not a stupid question rather stupid bug! I guess you are using 11.1.1.5.We had previously faced the same issue a SR. It's a bug! Bug hotfix request: 12810141, this solves the problem.

  The session that you get from the module of the application is not a http session it's a server session. You cannot use any other class.

  The documentation is always a good starting point. The best description I know is from the book "Guide Oracle ADF developer real world ' by Jobinesh Purushothaman. If you google a bit you will find another description too. Don't know what you want to know about the creation and destruction of the sessions that you do yourself. To set the time-out setting for the http session, you can change the value of "session timeout" in the web xml file.

• Question of OPatch with OBIEE

  Hi, I am applying the 11.1.1.6.4 recent patches, but I am running with no easy way to get more space. I know that when OPatch is used, it creates backup copies that can be used to restore. I patched this server several times (11.1.1.6.0 to 6.1 to 6.2 6.2 BP1, now at 11.1.1.6.4).
  
  Is there an easy way to delete all the old files (assuming that I don't roll back)? If so, where are they stored?

  Please see note: how to avoid disk full questions because OPatch backups take large amount of disk space. [550522.1 ID]

  Also be sure to save disk space, you can remove the patch files $ORACLE_HOME/Oracle_BI1 /.

  On Linux x 86 operating systems, configure the host to resolve to the IP address of the loopback host names by editing the file/etc/hosts to contain the following entries:

  127.0.0.1 nomhote.nomdomaine hostname
  127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

  After that, make sure that the host name resolves to the loopback IP address by typing the following command:

  / bin/ping nomhote.nomdomaine

  I made some customizations using narrative view of obiee11G that displays a picture on the Web using HTML5. I can view the report with the image customized using all browsers except Internet Explore. After some research, I found that I need to switch browser view IE9, IE9 compatibility mode in developer tool F12.
  
  Is there a default way to this mode of browser to IE9 instead of modify manually every time that connect us to BI.

  Have you tried clicking on tools > browser compatibility settings and see if the site is in the window? If so, delete it so that it uses is no longer the compatibility view.

  To come to the questions that I did...
  For the Installation of Enterprise Edition (Option 2 in the GUI Setup screen) *.
  (1.) I had "jdk1.7.0_10" installed in the folder "C:\Java".
  Which tent to install OBIEE 11.1 it install weblogic version '10.3.5' because it is not compatible with "jdk1.7.0_10" had questions.

  I have a request to OBIEE with hardcoded filter (for example year '2012' =), the query sent to Essbase contains this filter.
  But if I use the Session Variable in the filter (for example year = NQ_SESSION. VALUEOF (CURRENT_YEAR)), the query does not contain this filter send to Essbase.
  Thus, the query in Essbase take a lot of time, and then OBIEE takes time to filter the data to the server in OBIEE.
  
  My question: how to replace OBIEE Session Variable before sending questionable to Essbase?

  Hi John,

  Maybe you could create a dashboard with your filter and with a default NQ_SESSION value. VALUEOF (CURRENT_YEAR)).
  After in your report, add you a filter "invited" in your field.
  If you wish, you can hide the dashboard prompt to not show.
  It is not the best solution, but it could be a workaround in your case - I didn't test it.

  I am new to this field of BI/CPM set and need to find software to meet the requirements of the organization. We currently use the software called 'PBViews', but it is not to scale and is not flexible enough for our use.
  
  Here's the scenario:
  
  1. we have several external databases (Oracle, MS Access, SQL Server, etc...)
  2. we have 1 inside the database (SQL Server 2003)
  3 within the SQL Server database consists of datamarts much in different sectors (for example: human resources, finance, customer service, etc...); These data are extracted from various external databases
  
  We need:
  
  1. to generate reports
  2. generate dashboards
  3 generate views (usually predefined) aggregate data
  4. functions of ad hoc reporting
  5. web tool or tools (they MUST be web-based, install a software on our machines of the users is not possible)
  6. integration with Microsoft SharePoint
  
  My question is, does the OBIEE fulfill my needs (and how) or is there another Oracle product I should look into? I'm still a little confused on the Hyperion/EMP/OBIEE product range integer that Oracle offers.

  I can't find any recent info here on Octoshape/InfinateHD. Recently, I've rejuvenated my old MacBook (late 2009, white) for my husband who is new to Apple/Mac. While I was browsing through old files (the laptop worked if slow, I had a hard time to do something without having to walk away and wait for the loading process, troubleshooted my way through the mud), I came across 1 file, I discovered was spyware, adware, malware, trojan: genieoinnovations. I have no idea when it installed or what he tag along. My day to download 3rd party software are long by the way. My MacBookPro to death of love. I have never found anything else that looked suspicious, but I decided to erase the disc and not reinstall a cleaning in the end. Glad I did, MacBook runs now healthy, happy and fresh as a newborn babe.* wee

  [Only after 24 hours of fighting of the installation, the recovery mode, the user prefs being glitch/broken etc, visited these communities several times to diagnose a problem after another.]

  This prompted me to stroll in the library of my own laptops (background: I don't no/don't will not erase the things I'm years uncertain of, learned my lesson, and I know better than to start doing things here and there) research and don't button don't not files.

  I found one that I've not heard of and it comes from a reliable source, but that does not mean that I agree with it.

  The path is HD HD/users/me/library/Octoshape/Infiniate

  My apologies, but all I want to know the end is something I must treat as malicious and get rid of it?

  (I know how to deep search for snippets of things to names that could get scraps of... logmein has been the worst, macpaw, growl...) What I thought? !! UGH.)
