Question of div bg image

Why doesn't the image of this div scroll, only the text of the div scrolls?

{.maindiv_scroll}

Max-width: 812px;

overflow: scroll;

background-image: url(images/scrollbgnew.jpg);

background-repeat: no-repeat;

margin left: 138px;

height: 1176px;

border-top: 1px solid #F4ECC5;

}

http://www.milesfunerals.com/useful-addresses.php

In a modern browser, you can get the bottom to scroll by adding the following to your style rule:

background-attachment: local;

However, it does not work in old browsers. For compatibility between browsers, you need to add the background image to a separate div and nest scrolling content in its own div inside.

    I'm currently building a website from scratch, which consist of a difficulty of background image and the div background images 2 sit in the Middle (as html does not allow me to add more background in the body...).

    It has been tested last version of IE, firefox and chomre and on the different, all screen resolution correctly rendered.

    But as soon as I try to resize the window jumping of clutter and not solitary repetitive background work...

    Advice please help and thanks in advance. =)

    It seems that you are doing it correctly. The new

    to completely wrap the "outerContainer' (see below).

    Remove the bottom before the closing tag you don't need.

    Then, apply the repeating background:

    {#pageWrapper}

    Background: url (.. /images/Red-background.png);

    background-repeat: repeat-x;

    background-position: 100px 0; / * Use background-position to place the image to be * /.

    }

  • Center the div in parent div Background Image and not the whole page

    I am trying to Center a background image, I have inserted as create a div via the new css rule and will have questions centering correctly on the page. I would it is centered at the top of the page contet - left area of the page content, and it seems that the background image is ignorant parent his div and is centering the page-level. It's a problem because its parent div that 2/3 of the page, therefore covers, in question background image is cropped.

    I did a video showing the problem here, because I'm not sure I use the right words to describe the problem

    Dreamweaver Background Image needs centered at the top of the page content DIV - YouTube

    In other words, I insert a div tag and add a background image so that I can place the content above it, however, the background image seems to be centered in the entire page and not simply within the Division 'parent' in design mode, everything is centered, however, in direct mode, the background image is offset. I can't really explain for good so I made another video.

    Still another problem as can be seen in the video but not prime, since it still works live, is:

    In addition, my navigation bar is direct, but in design mode, it appears at the bottom of the screen. I did fix the position, then he stuck on the right side, so I added a margin of 700px to go right once again, I guess that the problem is due to this.

    I have boldened which, in my view, are source code target areas and css to quickly reduce down, but everything included because I am not knowledgeable enough to know what is relevant or not, I could (and likely) wrong.

    Any other help would be greatly appreciated.

  • A few questions about the recovery image installation

    A recovery USB drive created using the Recovery Media Creator contains the Windows operating system and is it the Windows key to reinstall - how it is activated. Is it different for the repair disk.

    Can be used for a new installation of Windows 7 on a new SSD? Is this just a case of connection and the recovery disc running on the new drive to th? How the recovery Partition can be re-created on a new SSD?

    Drop Hello

    I can see user Justinian gave detailed answers, and I hope you understand how it all works now. Of my overwiev aside:

    What exactly is recovery image?
    + Recovery image is an exact copy of a hard drive and contains the exact copy, byte by byte, a hard disk partition. The copy includes all the partition information, sectors priming, the table of allocation of files, installation of operating system and software application different. +
    + You are using installation Recovery CD/DVD/USB, you can restore your system after heavy data loss, caused by an accident of operating system, hardware failure or complete virus attack. +
    + Recovery image installation procedure allows the installation of system and easy to user. Unfortunately, it is not possible to restore only certain files from a disk image. +
    + Each recovery image is designed for a specific model laptop and it cannot be used for any other series of notebook. +

    With other words, recovery image is a software package that contains Windows operating system, all the drivers needed for some portable model, Toshiba tools, utilities, and also some other software. A lot of people don't like these additional software, but no you don't have to use it. all things you don't like you can remove it from the system.

    Activation of recovery image:
    When you buy the phone model you also purchase the license for the preinstalled OS version that you get with your machine. After start and contact to the internet OS will be checked and activation will be valid.

    Please note: you can reinstall original image recovery 100 times if necessary. There is not a kind of limitation, and whenever it will be activated.

    Take care of your recovery media (DVD/USB). Do not lose it.

    Of course, it can happen that you do not find your recovery media. In this case you can order.

  • A few questions about Toshiba recovery image

    Hello
    I'M ALPER. I HAVE A PROBLEM EVEN WITH OTHER FRIENDS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I INSTALLED WINDOWS 7 PRO TO MY COMPUTER, I COULD NOT GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL OS.

    I HAVE HDDRECOVERY IN MY HARD DRIVE. BUT I HAVE NO RECOVERY DISK.

    I TRY THE METHOD BY FOLLOWING THE LINK. IT DOES NOT WORK. WINDOWS DIRECTLY WHEN THE COMPUTER STARTS. NO RECOVERY.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=68031

    NOW, I'LL TRY IT THE HARD WAY. IF I WANT SUCCESS I'LL YOU SAY.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=40790

    BEFORE DOING THAT I HAVE A QUESTION IF I CREATE TOSHIBA RESTORE DISK WITH THE SAME MODEL MY FRIENDS? IS IT WORKING OR NOT?

    ANOTHER QUESTION: IS THERE ANOTHER WAY?

    Thank you

    > I HAVE A SAME PROBLEM WITH OTHER FRIENDS
    That s best evidence of something interesting that we write here: person read document s user manuals.

    In this section of the forum you will find many discussions with very good explanation of how it works. In any case, here is brief summary:

    Each laptop model comes with preinstalled OS (factory settings). HARD drive (from the HARD drive partition) recovery facility can be launched and work if the laptop to factory settings. Otherwise you will have access to files from recovery, and there is also no possibility to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.
    > BEFORE I HAVE A QUESTION IF I CREATE TOSHIBA RESTORE DISK WITH THE SAME MODEL OF MY FRIENDS?
    In general Yes, but this other model must have the same part number. Send your model name and we can tell you this part number.

    In any case, in my opinion the best solution for you is order the original Toshiba Recovery disk and use it for recovery image installation.

    1. when I use the disk (if it is up, open and available), and I want to add something to it, I usually drag the file everywhere where it is currently in its destination folder in the sparse image control.  But it automatically makes a copy - with the same name (not with a '-1' ever, not with a suffix 'copying' or 'alias').  Which defeats the purpose and makes things complicated - I find myself comparing what is in each location to make sure it's in the sparse image and then it makes me nervous to delete the original.  Why it does this and how can I change such as dragging a file in a secure location gives there is not that a second copy of it left in an UNsecure location?

    2. I'm using Time Machine backup drive sitting on my desk (and a separate utility for monthly clones on a different backup disk).  Automatically makes Time Machine backup the content of the rare picture even if the safe drive is not mounted, open and available?  I hope not, because that would undermine the usefulness of having a backup disk on my desktop running of ordinary Time Machine backups, but find it me just that all the steps I take of course I do not lose any data may be so overprotective I have thought/hoped.

    Sous_forme_d' addendum, I'll check my clone, but as I put this out there, I wonder if SuperDuper!, my application of cloning is cloning automatically secure disk content, so... like the thoughts of anyone about it if it's an application that they use).

    FYI: I'm running 10.11.2

    Thank you.

    (1) by default, OS X makes a copy with the overcoming of the limits of volume and moves when in the same volume.

    You can reverse this behavior by holding down the command key when you drop. You will see the insignia of the icon changes (green + for copy, empty for move).

    (2) Time Machine will return to the top of the image 'file', but only when it is unmounted. I do not think that it automatically includes the volume mounted, but I would like to check and add to the exclusion list.

  • Beginner question: resizing/scaling of images, STROKE and workflow.

    Hi all.  I am new to the world of the Illustrator/design, so my apologies for what may seem like a stupid question and I thank you in advance for the advice.

    Basically, I created an image in illustrator that I want to use at different sizes.  I thought at the start: "Hey, it's all the stuff of vector, so I should just be able measure it goes up and down without problem!  However, I quickly realized that while paths are vectors, the stroke applied to paths are not, and they do not change proportionally when I adapt paths.  So, if I increase the size of the image, the objects that were once touching now have gaps between them, and if I reduce the size of the image, certain traits begin to overlap. Just to be perfectly clear on what I'm talking about, here are a few screenshots:

    Original Image scale Small scale image
    ai_correct.jpgai_gap.jpgai_overlap.jpg

    My questions are:

    1. Was my assumption that 'Illustrator files can be resized easily and inconsequential"simplistic and erroneous?  (It seems that it is!) Please help me understand how illustrator is or is not useful to create scalable images.
    2. Is the right way to manage this just to determine the need for size and have separate AI for each size files, or is there a way to 'better' which implies not manually kicks setting for images of different sizes?
    3. Third option of comedy!

    nvenet,

    The perception of the way it should be is correct; but there are a few strangenesses that can mess things up.

    An important one if you have strokes & effects of scale checked or unchecked, in this case, it must be checked, and I believe that it is unchecked.

    You can find it in the Transform palette dialog box.

    You can consider the object > path > feature of contour, then Ctrl / Cmd + SHIFT + G to ungroup, then Pathfinder > unite to change the path traced in a simple filling/nostroke. This will work regardless of features & scale effects.

    Another important is the ghost of pixel grid Align attribute which may haunt you, know well in other cases; often you can recognize by distortions. If it isn't:

    You can select the entire document and untick finally align on the pixel grid in the Transform palette and uncheck also align new objects to the pixel grid in the options of the Launcher.

    And you can avoid the types of documents with the default (RGB for the web and other) or change the default value for such documents.

  • Difficulty in div background image

    Hello

    I did a lot of research on this subject and answers os tons were developed, yet, none has solved my problem so far.

    I'm doing the background image in a div that will be fixed when I scroll vertically.

    Have a model manufactured, in which the only editable div is the rightdiv. (in red, to be easier)

    Here is my code

    CSS

    {body
    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-bottom: 0px;
    background-position: Center;
    background-image: url (.. / Images/bgdr.jpg);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    }

    {#wrapper}
    height: 875px.
    Width: 1000px;
    margin-right: auto;
    left margin: auto;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;

    #header {}

    background-repeat: no-repeat;

    Clear: none;

    float: none;

    height: 214px;

    Width: 1000px;

    background-image: none;

    position: relative;

    padding-top: 10px;

    {#leftDiv}
    Clear: none;
    float: left;
    height: 500px;
    Width: 245px;
    position: relative;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    {#rightDiv}
    Clear: none;
    float: right;
    height: 484px;
    Width: 755px;
    position: relative;
    overflow: auto;
    }

    #footer {}
    height: 100px;
    Width: 1000px;
    Clear: both;
    position: relative;
    padding-bottom: 20px;
    }

    And here is my HTML code

    <!-InstanceBeginEditable name = "RightDiv"->

    < div id = "rightDiv" style = "background-image: url(Images/informacao.png)" >

    < / div >

    <! - InstanceEndEditable - >

    Well, it's that on Internet Explorer 9, the background image repeats vertically when I scroll vertically. On Chrome it will stay fixed on parchment (and that's what I want).

    I tried to add style = "" background-attachment: fixed ", but that branding will match difficulty itself relatively to the entire page, not the div only." In addition, she repeats 4 times for oocupy the screen. I can solve that by "no-repeat", but it is always attached to the browser page, not of the div.

    I tried to solve this problem for days... Help would be very appreciated.

    Funny is that this only happens in IE9... Chrome works perfectly.

    After a little research, I found it's actually "mode of operation" in Internet Explorer, all versions. A fixed background image goes out the window of the browser for positioning.

    The work around is to place a div container around the div scrolling. Place the background image in this div without css positioning container or an attachment and turn off a background image or color in div scrolling.

    Something like that...

  • Really simple question of Div

    Hi all

    I'm on a really steep learning curve like a beginner in web design. I working on different ways to prepare my pages and have been warned against the dangers of the absolute use of divs posiitoned. If someone could point me in the direction of a good tutorial on how to expose my page using divs normal it would be great. The problem is, I have to work within a model whioch someone else designed - and I have no communication with the previous Designer! I have an example of something simple, I'm trying to make here:

    http://www.stosmunds.Dorset.sch.UK/template/test.html

    It seems really trivial. In the templae box I created the page, I want to be able to put text inside a div - who will have a white background - but then I want to be able to change the background of the area model, the div on top of, to an image.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    In your html page, nest your text inside your model of div div:

    The text here.

    Then, in your CSS style sheet, set a background image for the div of model and the background of your div text color to white:

    {#template}

    background-image: URL(Images/YourImage.jpg);

    / * make sure that the path of the URL is relevant to the structure of your site

    and to add other CSS properties you need * /.

    }

    #text {}

    background-color: #FFF;

    / * Add all the other CSS properties you need * /.

    }

  • Question on licenses and Images of the

    My school is having a t-shirt design contest. In design they like, the tshirt uses an image of royalty free stock. I took this picture (of a grunge frame) for 1 credit (free with a new account) of the Web site and to adapt it to design tshirt with a whole other items handled.  The problem is that the license I got from them is not that extended the resale of the products. The cost of being able to do this is 100 credits or $88. No way the school will do.

    The image is stretched, the parts are removed, and another image is projected on the top, only really making the outline appears. Also, I increased the size until she is all pixely before throwing in a paint filter. Would there be questions if the school has sold this tshirt without the license, even though I changed the image? I won't be responsible for what.

    If I was using pictures of the reserve, of any kind, I adhere to the exact specifications of the license of this entity.

    Now, there is nothing to prevent you from creating a similar design, but one that is yours.

    Just my way of thinking,

  • Style DIV background image appears not

    Hey friends - can take anyone a peek at line 136 to show why my background image does not appear in this DIV Style?

    You have no width or height defined for this item, so it cannot show an image, unless you make the div at least the same size as the image.

    http://www.gratefulcreative.com/Andre_Madiz/images/bottom_text.PNG); repeat ba ckground: No.-repeat; Width: 871px; height: 483px; » >

    You can also consider adding to your main css file and giving the div an id that will help you in the future.

    If I put a div with text-align: center, and includes annother div with text as an image inside, will be the text and the image centered on the page in all browsers?

    , It works very well on fire fox but so do a lot of things! Ive tested the net IE rendering (http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/index.php) and it seems to work fine. IM worried however as Ive read the tutorials that use means much more complex centering images and text so im wonding if it has some problems.

    Thank you

    It works fine in all browsers.

  • Div background image clipping

    Hi guys,.
    I have a div on my page which I use as the main body, and I put the color of white background, but then put on a background image (a gradient of grey to white). In design mode, this has the desired effect - i.e. it seems to be a long gradient, but when you preview in Firefox and IExplorer top of the background image is cut off. Any suggestions?
    Here are the relevant CSS:

    > background-attachment: fixed;

    Delete this.
