  Gurus,

  My question is perhaps stupid please help.

  I installed OBIEE 12 c. I was able to connect to oracle and create a new RPD. When I try to open it in online mode its asking about a configuration of ODBC driver. I tried to set up the connection to the OBIEE server for the local host. It shows 4 instances OBI OBI SERVER 1 2 and 3. Which should I use and what is the purpose of having these in there?

  Do you have an example of RPD content as we get for 11g - sampleapp. If it doesn't there please help me find a way to connect to my system. If this isn't the case, please correct me. Thank you.

  You must create a new system DSN to connect to the RPD in online mode.

  1. go in ODBC data sources.

  2. create a new system DSN

  3. Add the server of Oracle's BI.

  4 specify the name and the Server (hostname), and then click Next (http://hostname:9502/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome).

  5. Please provide the connection information and the port 9514 (default).

  6. click on finish.

  You should now be able to connect the RPD in online mode. It will be useful.

  We were faced with the same problem and could solve it with the following steps (change your insatnceconfig):

  • "second line should look similar to the following: http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance ' xmlns="oracle.bi.presentation.services/config/v1.1 ">
  • Add at the end (before the closing of ServerInstance tag) following:

  When you have completed these steps, restart your PS (EM or with opmnctl) and check if it works.

• The question of integration OBIEE & MapViewer

  Hi all

  A few days I tried to integrate OBIEE with mapviewer by some different method. After a lot of configuration process, like you created new schema on db, imported data space sample inside and has defined a new source of data, in mapviewer administration console, I have a main issue at this time.

  I just tested whether mapviewer was executed, and he was seen ok in the url, http://host_name:9704 / mapviewer

  So, how can I embed this map on page obiee analytical?

  When I tried to import map layers/images in OBIEE 11 g Analytics / administration/management map data page, I get an error like this "cannot communicate with Oracle FMW Server mapviewer.

  1. with IE, it sometimes gives this kind of question, please use latest Mozilla.

  Try first with step 1 only.

  2. If in Mozilla, it also gives the same message - you need some instanceconfig.xml entries.

• Question of repository OBIEE 10 G

  Hi, I'm really new to OBIEE 10 G. Recently, I asked two questions and got great answers, thanks. Now, here's a new.

  I have branch, time, product, and Sales of paintings in the physical layer. Branch, the time and the products are the dimensions and have a relationship several ship sales.

  I built models and mapped the relationship (model of Business and physical diagram). And built the display boards.

  Now because sales are by long branch, (day) and products (product not), what ever size I drag in the responses, the result will be there branch, the time (day) and product (not).

  For example, if I drag the branch and sales, I want to see the branch sales, but instead, I still see sales by long branch (day) and products (not produced).

  I don't know y at - it something I should be doing in the repository? Especially in the MDB. I have the MDB sales as done and branch, time, produced as dimensions. I didn't build hierarchies because I'm not sure what the hierarchy.

  Thanks for the reply. Finally, I found that it is because I did not in place the aggregation for the fact table columns. It's 'None' by default. I've changed the 'Sum' and problem solved. The hierarchy is irrelevant because my case is very simple and there is only one level in each dimension. But I'll certainly have to build for real things and hierarchy levels. Thank you.

  All are workinig fine, but when break through us year quarter, it will take at the level of the child. Yet once the level of the year presents hyperlink in the cumulative process.
  
  I want yet rollup at the level of the year.

  Suppose that you pulled the year and click on it
  Quarter of the year
  both get hyperlink
  If you click on the year

  I'm new on this and you have a quick question on examples OBIEE 11 g - 5 tables: samp_addresses_D, samp_customers_d, samp_products_d, samp_revenue_f,.
  samp_time_day_D for the first year for the Administration tool (downloaded @ http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/obiee-samples-167534.html). In which form / structure is the database when I import it to the physical layer-> a relational normal or is this a dimensional model?

  The calendar must be a full time table. If you want to group of weeks, months, etc., you must have these values and fields from your time table. I'm sure you can find an array of calendar on the internet. Try Googling. Check that http://www.brianshowalter.com/calendar_tables

• OBIEE user lock

  I have a few questions about locking OBIEE (native) user:
  1. can we we lock user OBIEE of the tool of administration or any other place? Usually, if I don't want a user to connect, I have to delete this user.
  2. can be set when a user enters 3 consecutive incorrect password, then the account is locked automatically (such as the Oracle database).

  Some people have posted useful answers, but they have not answered your questions.

  1. No, you can not lock a user to the RPD. The best you could do is change the password of the user you want the script via UDML.
  2. it is not possible in the current version.

• Error with action on the part of the CDA of AW OLAP in OBIEE

  I have created an AW using AWM 11 g, OBIEE repository that uses it, and I'm unable to get a calculated including measure to display in OBIEE.
  
  I created a measure called YTD_SHR_REG_PROF, which is the share of Profit of the CDA for the region, and I have included this measure calculated in my SPR file, as well as sales, profit and several other measures, base and calculated.
  
  Other measures can be displayed in OBIEE. For example, by selecting a month and sales of associated business, YTD_Sales and Profit works very well. However, including my YTD_SHR_REG_PROF measure causes my Oracle database instance stop. Ouch!
  
  Here's the definition generated by the wizard of the measure:
  (SHARE (UNITS_CUBE. YTD_PROFIT OF THE CUSTOMER. CUSTOMER SERVICE LEVEL STANDARD. REGION)) * 100
  
  I select month, region, warehouse, Sales, YTD_Sales, Profit and YTD_SHR_REG_PROF in my request for answers. If I omit YTD_SHR_REG_PROF, it works very well. If I understand this measure, it stops my Oracle service.

  Moreover, the measure shows very well in AWM with data display. The values are correct, no problem at all.

  I see exactly the same behavior on my local 11.1.0.7 instance. I found a mistake in a trace file associated with a background thread ("qerfxGCol:KQFDTTIM - LdiDateArray conversion error"), but I can't be 100% sure it's related.

  The YEAR (CURRENT_DATE) function is of type INT and not DATE. Then try this code in your environment. And I don't see an answer to my question about the OBIEE version. It is 11g?

• Page Break at the view level

  I have 2 PivotTables in my application (one above the other). How to set the page break so that the last page of the first pivot & the first page of the second pivot do not print on the same page?

  Here's the problem that you run in. Style CSS "page break before: always" is the right technique to make PDF files have page breaks. The question is how OBIEE generates PDF files. When you have a pivot table of response, the HTML code for this particular pivot table is actually several tables nested in HTML. For example,.

  What happens is when I have you insert this CSS style, it happens only at the lowest. Resulting in something like the following. »

  The question that OBIEE needs this style to be a child of the main table (table AnswerReport) and not back down to the level of the pivot table. So that the stand-alone version of response report to work, should be more structured as follows:

  
  
  

  But this would require quite a redesign of the OBIEE way generates the content of the request response.

  Instead, I would recommend this book autour.

  (1) create your unique response with both request (let's call them PT1 and PT2) of PivotTables
  (2) create a dashboard
  (3) dashboard page, add a second column by clicking the column more icon
  4) click on the properties of the second column and add a break. When it asks you what type of break, select Page Break with column break. This is the step that gives you your jump page PDF.
  (5) drag and drop your report at the top of the column
  6) click on the properties of your report, and then click View-> PT1
  (7) drag and drop your report in the background column
  8) click on the properties of your report, and then click View-> PT2
  (9) save your dashboard
  (10) in your iBots, deliver the dashboard instead of the report answer page.

  It's kinda a quote around, according to the way in which that OBIEE generates the HTML code, I don't think you can get a page otherwise break.

  Good luck and let me know if it works! I tested the technique of myself and it worked successfully.

• OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 - research question

  Hello

  We went to OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1. When you click apply in the quick bar to generate one of our dashboard, reports appear 'SEARCH' forever.

  When I check the status of the 'Administration' - 'Manage the Sessions' report, I can see that queries are completed in 5 sec.

  When taxes on the page, the reports display correctly. This question has repercussions that a single area of the object / dashboard and only some reports.

  Is someone knows this specific problem/bug? Apparently, we have the bug in Firefox. Only in Internet Explorer.

  The issue was found. There is a bug in the version 11.1.1.7 with Internet Explorer.

  The '11.1.1.7.140114' patch is to fix the problem.

• 11.1.2.3 Essbase / OBIEE 11.1.1.7 question

  Hi guys

  Having a few problems getting Essbase and OBIEE going and thought I'd try here.

  In the OBI administration tool, I can create a database object ' Essbase 11', but it let me only to create a pool of connections 'Essbase 9'. " When I then "Import metadata" I get a message saying "physical database already exists, but it is not the same type of provider".

  My theory is that this is happening because the Essbase Connection Pool is to see that there is no 9 Essbase database and try to create one, but my db Essbase 11 already exist; This is why the error message.

  This theory is further justified by the fact that 'import metadata' only works if I choose Essbase 9 early on for the database. I'd be happy with that, but I get another question when I'm actually trying to use this connection/db on an OBI analysis, so I would dismiss version DB/connection as a first question since it is something obvious. Is - this standard to Essbase 9 just choose to the DB and the Connection Pool?

  FYI, this isn't packed OBI install Essbase. EPM is installed separately.

  I can't comment on the logic of Oracle around the numbering... BUT also to have the same version of software and created everything with a Version 9 connection pool that works very well.

• Question of dynamic values prompt OBIEE!

  I'm new to OBIEE. I need help, and I'm stuck in the following scenario.
  
  How can I specify a dynamic range of values to display in the dashboard line?
  I mean when the user clicks on a message of solicitation that it should be able to see certain values that need to be generated dynamically. For example, this year.
  If the user connects to today, he should be able to see the values of the year 2012, 2013 and 2014.
  If the user connects to the next year, he should be able to see the values of the year 2013, 2014 and 2015.
