Question of replacement VME

Hi all

I have an old test set-up which has an obsolete VME controller and I need to duplicate the tester and make a new one.

My question is, can I replace the VME controller with any other type of Board? like, for example, a data acquisition card and a PC?

Do I need to use again the VXI/VME? or I can go with a data acquisition card and a PC too?

Not sure if this is possible because of the level of signal VME (?), but I thought I have ask the experts and double checking.

Thank you very much

If the pci card specifications are identical or more and you're ready to rewrite the software, so I don't see why not.

  • Question of replacement HP Pavilion M6 HD

The HD in my Pavilion M6 is a failure; I want to replace it with something faster. Specifically, I'm looking at the Seagate 1 TB Solid State Hybrid Drive SATA 6 GB/s 64 MB Cache 2.5 ST1000LM014. Will this work for my laptop?

I have replaced hundreds of hard drives of laptop and these questions are overthinking the issue, but there is no such thing as a bad question so I answer. Your computer has a GB/s SATA-III 6.0 interface. There is no maximum capacity. You can install any player portable SATA not thicker than 9.5 mm market, which I think are now available up to 2 TB. The original drive is 9.5 mm but 7 mm drives have SATA connectors and mounting holes in the same task and will run just below in the caddy. 7 mm discs works perfectly. You are looking at is 9.5 mm same as the original drive. The only problem is with thin ultrabooks which can take only 7mm readers; 9.5 will not match those. And finally, yes you can use an SSD and if you're inclined to spend premium dollars, I highly recommend it, but that you have chosen is a hybrid that is faster than a mechanical drive standard and not much more expensive.

  • Question of replacement for the hard drive MacBook Pro Late 2008

    Hello

My MBP HD headed to the exit so I'll take the plunge and get a replacement SSD to install it.  Being not too tech savvie I'm trying to cover all the bases before starting the replacement so I think I'm OK to get to the old and a new one outside.

I read that a clean install of Mac OS X is recommended.  The plan is to install the new SSD and connect the old HD the MBP for a speaker for the migration of files once the SSD has been formatted and installed operating system.  One of my questions is what OS can / should I install in the first place on the new SSD.  I have the Leopard installation disc that came with the MBP, I also have a Snow Leopard install disc I bought (this is the version 10.6.3).  Start with the Snow Leopard disc or do I have to install Leopard first?  I would get the new OS SSD up to version I'm currently on (10.7.5).

My other question is around RAM.  As part of the upgrade, I plan to replace and max of RAM, I've seen is now 8 GB between the two slots.  I read what the maximum capacity to 8 as part of an update of the firmware.  So the question is: should I do all updates of OS before installing the RAM?  The MBP would difficult treat 8GB if the firmware update is not installed through the different software updates that will be needed once the OS is installed on the SSD?

    Advice/suggestions appreciated.

Replace the RAM can be done at any time. If you have already downloaded the firmware required, it has already updated your material and will not be lost when you replace the hard drive. However, according to Apple, your computer can manage only a 4 GB. I could be missing something...

See here: MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008) - technical data sheet

As far as your OS issue, the best thing to do is get the updated software to match the information that you are migrating back (to make sure no problem with migration). The best way to do it, is to download recovery disk wizard and install it on an extra USB key. This allows you to install Lion without having to install Leopard or Snow Leopard first. This will also use disk utility to format the new SSD correctly.

My Question is: can I replace the drive with any portable computer OEM DVD - RW drive, or should it be replaced with the drive from DVD - RW original it came with?

    Thanks for your time...

You can replace it with any player, only with a compatible. I have no time to search the list for you and you can do it alone. Check it please s manuals for your model of laptop. Usually, at the beginning, you find a part on information in optical disc players. Should there have listed all the compatible optical disk drives.

  • Satelite A30 - Question about replacement of keyboard

    Hello

I posted a question [here | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=132833] on keyboard replacement for laptop Toshiba Satellite A30. I ordered a Curry www.partmaster.co.uk Web site now (~ A £47 including TAX). I will wait for it in a few weeks.

The fact post refers to the removal of the keyboard existing as such:

+ If you want to remove the keyboard, you will need to first remove the thin plastic above the F1 - F12 buttons. Under this coverage, you will find 2 screws which fix the keyboard. These screws must be removed. After the two screws were removed, you could take the keyboard. +

There is a plastic thin UNDER the F1 - F12 keys, who feels more easily removable as above plastic strip. One above feels very firmly attached to the laptop casing and has holes for the button ON / OFF and some of the lights.

It is certainly the plastic strip thin above the function keys? or would that acutally one below? (I don't want to raise the Strip above if this is a mistake and I end up breaking!).

I can post a picture if need be.

    Thank you

To remove the keyboard, follow these steps:

    1. open the display panel until it is almost horizontal.
    2. press the F1 key on the row from the bottom of your keyboard and insert a thin tool into the narrow hole under the cover of the band.
    3. use the tool to gently lift the cover away from the computer strip
    4. remove the two black screws from the top of the keyboard where they attach to the chassis of the computer
5 lift the keyboard from the top and then get out. The lower part of the keyboard has 5 teeth that are inserted into the slots in the chassis, so be sure to not break when you take off the keyboard
    6. on the keyboard's underside is a keyboard cable. Gently remove it by pulling the display panel in the back.

    That's all ;)

  • Satellite A30 303: Question on replacement of the CPU

    Hi all

I recently tried to clean the dust from my laptop.
I removed the cpu and trying to put it back in the place I folded one of the pins. Now, I tried to draw on the pins but have no chance that the laptop shows just a white screen.

Is there someone who can fix bent pins?

Also where can I get a replacement CPU attached to a radiator of? I'm after a 3.06 GHz intel pentium 4

    Hello

It is a very stupid situation. It seems you have damage the CPU!
Usually, this occurs if users have no experience and try to remove and to correct some things that should be done by a technician.

Impossible to fix the CPU damage only the replacement could help.

    > but have no luck as the laptop shows just a white screen.
    > Is there anyone who can fix bent pins?

As you say that you tried to start Notepad. How did insert the processor on the motherboard if the pins are bent?

Regarding your question about the replacement of the CPU; the replacement of the CPU is not advisable on laptops and not easy. Especially the microcode and DMI must be updated after the replacement of the CPU and the motherboard. Without these updates, the CPU on the 600 MHz or the laptop overheating or primer will not work!

    > Also where could I get a replacement CPU attached to a radiator of? I'm after a 3.06 GHz intel pentium 4

If you want to know what s CPU could be compatible, please check your type of chipset used on this laptop and check the specifications of the Intel page!

Finally, I would recommend asking a technician a laptop get the laptop working again.

    Good luck

  • HP XW6600 workstation: Question to replace ram on HP XW6600 workstation

Hello, recently my third dimm (it was 1 gb) stop working and now I have to replace it with a new one.

My current setup on the Rams was 4 fb-DIMM 1 GB each and my question is: can I replace the non-working with a ram ddr2 single memory ram or I want only a fb-dimm?

    * Note: my mobo is Hewlett-Packard 0A9Ch (XU1 PROCESSOR).

    Thanks for your time

These positions require the FB-DIMM (which are DDR2 as well!), standard DIMM doesn't work.

In addition, the FBDIMM replacement must have the same rank as the original.

BTW: FBDIMM is often quite cheap these days here (unless you want 4 GB or 8 GB modules), check your favorite online auction site. According to what you do with your workstation, it might be interesting to buy a kit 4x2GB instead of a single 1 GB module.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6060ep: question to replace HARD drive

    Hello.

I would like to know if replacing the current 500 Gb Hdd with a SSD would cancel or in any way affect my warranty coverage. The laptop is a year old. Thanks in advance for any assistance of withy this question.

    Hello:

There should be no problem with the warranty as long as you don't break something trying to install the HARD drive.

HP will not support the SSD however and your recovery disks don't work because the new drive must be the same size the 500 GB HARD drive you removed.

I have a workaround for the problem of recovery disk...

According to the specifications of your PC system, it came with W7 Home Premium 64-bit.

It must be in English, French or Spanish version too.

If so, download the ISO W7 Home Premium 64 bit on the link below.

Burn the file on a disk using a program that can burn ISO files so the DVD is bootable DVD burning.

Burn at the lowest speed as possible.

Then use the product key 25 character on the bottom of your laptop computer to activate the installation.

  • Question of replacement HP Pavilion a6333w MoBo system # KC746AA #ABA (ECS MCP61PM-HM)

I'm working on one of these AM2 Athlon 64 X 2 4800 + (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Media
Critters Center (32 bit)) to a customer (slowdowns, BSOD, boots, hangs / freezes).

After doing thorough hardware tests (PSU, CPU, RAM and HARD drive are all very well) and make a Visual examination very closer to the MoBo, I found that at least nine of the 1800uf TK 63 caps are slightly 'dished' to the Crown and while he has not failed completely, this isn't only a matter of time, if it fails.

I came to the inevitable conclusion that it is not worth the time I put in, a lot less time and effort involved in recapping this beast, so I recommend that you replace the MoBo, preferably with an ASUS that can use its RAM, cards and CPU.

I would like to make a restore of the system since the existing D partition, but makes the question of "HP image restore and sign up OK with a"big"change like MoBO make and model or is"indexed"to an Image type particular MoBo ID?

NOTE: The customer has lost his recovery CD in a gesture!  Big surprise!

    TIA!

Hi, if you install a card mother HP no you'll need another copy of windows.

  • Question to replace political group.

I have this weird problem in my new infrastructure where I work.

I am connected to two domain controllers: DC01 and DC02.

I picked up 5 portable and placed OR to which they belong.

I connect with profile of kiosk owned by GroupB OR.

Only 5 succeeded to these 2:

1 & 2 - any profile that GPO has been applied and works like a charm

3 - failed to obtain 50% of group policy

4 could not get 60% of group policies

5 - failed on getting the policy by getting 30%

    -----------------------------------------------------

    1 is connected to DC01

    2 is connected to DC02

3 is connected to the DC02

4 is connected to the DC01

    5 is connected to DC02

    -----------------------------------------------------

Nothing works by forcing policy on the machine... it seems that it does not replace the current policy and its deadlock.

DC is works well, otherwise I would see this folder replicated on every machine (or miss me something that could be the cause of the DC?)

I delete the profile and the folder group policy without any successful results.

There also the registry keys I might have to remove, to confirm that there is something wrong with the policy?

I took into account network latency, etc., but after 24 hours, there is no change for those laptops that have partially failed with GPO.

It's the first time I see something like that, I got the question somewhere else, but strength of simple group policy and a bit of wait times did a trick. Unfortunately, in this infrastructure, it seems that he does not want to overwrite policy on the existing machine failed.

All ideas, suggestions would really help me.

  • Question to replace nested

I thought that I had this thought idea yesterday but what I figured out was not quite what I wanted.

I have the following select statement:

Select (replace (measure_name, '_Volume', ")) in the form x of wr_measure

    This produces results:
    x
    ---
    Dollar
    Weight

Without using another select statement, how can I replace x only if it's value is weight?

I can do what I'm trying to do with 2 sql statements, but I wanted to do it all in one if possible. Here's how I managed to do work with 2:

    Select Replace (x 1, 'Weight', 'Pound') as x 2
    Of
    (Select Replace(measure_name,'_Volume','') as x 1 wr_measure)

    Thank you

    Administer a shot:

SELECT CASE WHEN MEASURE_NAME LIKE 'Weight%' THEN REPLACE(MEASURE_NAME,'_Volume','') ELSE MEASURE_NAME END AS X
    FROM WR_MEASURE
    ;

  • HP a1250n, radeon xpress 200 question after replacing the CPU, Standard VGA Graphics goes not down

Recently, I messed up my CPU and bought a replacement (exact same kind). I am running windows 7 ultimate and for about 6 months prerequisites with no problems. After replacing the CPU I get intermittent lock ups, sometimes with a small portion of the screen flashes. I say intermittent but at least every 15-20 minutes. Different programs, different habits, but still the screen freezes.

I went in and deleted the driver under graphics cards, pick a 'completely remove the option' - it after restarting the system on its own charged for a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter and since there is then no more accidents. Of course the functionality is not as complete, large icons and such, but it works.

If it certainly seems to point to a driver conflict I think. But for this machine, is there ever any single Vista Windows 7 driver. My skills are not so, but I'm moving.

    Any guidance?

    Hello

Yes, your PC has integrated graphics controller: ATI Radeon XPress 200, we don't find drivers compatible Windows 7 ATI.

The BEST OPTION: Buy a video card, then insert it into slot PCI Express 16 on the motherboard to better display and multimedia performance with Windows 7 to a value using else, it looks just like Windows XP

    Sue Clarke

If the machine is only 3 weeks and then bring/send it to the next service partner available because you still have a warranty on this machine. And why it s going down so fast - we will be able to answer that. The machine you have is very reliable, so maybe just a "Sunday" - machine if you know what I mean.
In this case, you have a guarantee, and you should use it and require replacement.

After the replacement of Don t you need to reinstall anything since only a part is exchanged and nothing significant on your system will be changed.

    Welcome and good luck

Its a gtx 560 m that I walked is if I can get down the gfx card as im that it is difficult to find a gtx 560 m for less than £ 250/300 and is not worth paying that much, I can get a gtx 470/480 (of alienware) mxm3.0b and reading here says the bios is not compatible or problems there is also a quadro 3000 m / 4000 m or a mxm3.0 one gt540m , it seems that nobody seems to have replaced these cards only someone tried to put a gtx 670 m chipset different and new tech?

    Thank you simon.

I'm afraid of another and different GPU won't work properly m.
From my experience the BIOS will not load correctly this new device.

Of course, it's just a hypothesis because I've never tried this replacement of the GPU.
But according to a different suggestion to those who have tried to replace the laptop s GPU, especially its a compatibility issue between the GPU and the motherboard/BIOS card.

This is why problems GPU, it s not worth to replace only the GPU because the costs are huge.
