• Question about uninstalling Oracle Grid Infrastructure software

  
  Hello! I create a new cluster of CARS on IBM Power 7 server running AIX 6.1. I installed grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.3 as a 'practice' race, but I would like to make a few changes. I remember reading about a year on the Oracle uninstall utility 11g. Although it is installed as part of the software, it was recommended at that time to download the OTN deinstall utility.

  That it is always recommended, or can I just run the deinstall utility in my house grid Infrastructure?

• A simple question - use of 11g grid control

  As I was trying to know the name of the database - for a particular server and schema - of course I don't know the name of the server and schema - however I am not able to find the database associated using the Grid control.
  
  I wonder if there are any good book on control areas (11 g) network manager - how to find the various parameters and how to interpret the metadata for databases, servers, patterns tables etc. backup recovery

• CP7 not allowing questions can spread throughout the project

  We have a CP7 project we try to place a few questions after each learning objective.  We don't want total until the end of the project.  Each time, we try to ask questions after that each Captivate ELO is dragging everything back at the end.

  Everyone knows this?

  We tried all types of different questions.  I think there is some preference that the developer has put and it doesn't, but I have no idea what it could be.

  That's what I wanted to ask you, you may use the questions before the test. Before the test must be above all normal questions. And you have very little control, only two system variables are available for them.

• Grid Question of K2 (vSGA / vDGA)

  Hi guys,.

  I have a few basic questions about the card grid K2 and their deployment vSGA / vDGA

  We have a lot of 5.5 equipped 2 physical VMware graphics acceleration of NVidia type K2 GRID cards.

  If I go on the PCI device settings of the vmware host, then I see 4 four pci devices to allocate to the virtual machines:

  

  Now, I am a little confused because I though that I could devote only a single physical grid K2 card to a virtual machine via vDGA.

  Why I see four devices? These are the cores of Kepler (2 per card K2). I tried to run 3 VMs (each with one assigned grid K2 unit), and it worked.

  How many virtual machines I could if I use vSGA deployment of two grid K2 physical cards?

  I also see a bug. If I allocate a virtual machine to a network K2 device, then I can no longer connect to the virtual machine using the vmware console, is this normal?

  The standard vga adapter is always present in the virtual machine. I just see the Windows 7 boot screen.

  Hi Viktor, and welcome to the VMware communities.

  You're right, every K2 have GPU:s 2, each GPU can be dedicated to a guest in your case, you can use 4 comments with dedicated GPU:s

  How many virtual machines I could if I use vSGA deployment of two grid K2 physical cards?

  It depends, with vSGA you are limited to the amount of RAM. On K2, you have 8 GB of memory on each map, you can maximum have 512 MB for each guest and half will come from the graphic ram. So, in this example with your config, you'll be able to start the 64 comments but the practical limit depend on the request of the guests.

  Yes this is normal when you use vDGA, you can use RDP or VNC in the case where you need to administer the virtual machine outside the PCoIP session.

  You have two options:

  (1) DHCP using support on every TOR address suggest you. This is the recommended approach

  (2) DHCP then changing manually the VMkernel interface IP address on each ESXi host to match the required subnet - this is not recommended because it is not automatic, but is still supported

• Grid control - catalog RMAN issues

  I have listed under questions.
  
  We use a grid of 11 GR 2 control.
  
  (1) for all target/databases saved with the grid control, I want to find from a query or report if the objectives/databases are configured to use the control or RMAN catalog for the backup file
  
  as if I have 10 databases registered in the grid control, I want to know the breakdown of databases using the control file and catalog RMAN.
  
  (2) question / View / report in grid control for the status of all backup jobs (success / failures / warnings etc.)

  1-all the databases that are configured to use the catalog (this does not mean that they will use the catalog) are visible by using the rc_database view in the catalog. If a database is not configured in the catalog of the db uses the control file.

  I'm new to cs5 so please excuse my waste comments/questions about the perspective grid:

  1 mixtures deforms not in perspective when on the grid.

  2 symbols cannot be exchanged directly without using workaround of the permutation of the symbols in the symbols palette.

  3 objects cannot be "extracted" from the point of view, once they have been veiled.

  4 schemas are not distorted.

  5 moving perpendicular to the current plan object requires 4 clicks and entering into a measure.

  6 lights grouped objects cannot be moved at right angles to the plan when they do not share the same plan.

  I only started to learn this new feature, so I know that my expectations are WAY out of line, but if anyone has found useful workaround solutions I would be happy to hear from them.

• Change the Format of the Question

  I repositioned the content of a Question of Likert scale in support of our model. Several (Captivate 2.0) weird things happen.
  
  Firstly I have centered the numbering of the pages in a bar, when I saw, the pagination is not centered, in fact it is higher on the screen. I played around with the positioning until it displays correctly but when I'm on the editing screen is far away.
  
  Secondly, I moved the question and the rating scale and the buttons in the center of the screen with an area of high point behind them. It seems that the buttons are assigned to both groups to move. They are sometimes attached to the description of the scale (agree not agree, etc.) and sometimes they are attached to the issue.
  Anyway, once they moved with the rating scale descriptors, at the preview of the objects were all on display and were not where they were in edit mode.
  Another thing, that I noticed when I first selected the objects and have begun their repositioning with the down arrow key, they have immediately left justified and the left edge of the screen, I couldn't shift to the right. I had to drag them. I believe that is where they became disconnected from the grid screen real and begun previewing differently. Edit and preview were different.
  
  I searched the forums and found nothing of the sort. I hope that a service pack for Captivate soon appears. Captivate 1.0 was buggy, but Captivate 2.0 has many undocumented features that really adversely affect the tasks to accomplish. Quick Create is really slow down when you have to deal with all the questions. I also noticed that the number of questions that appear on the forum seems to be increasing.
  Sufficient ventilation. Everyone knows about this issue and to know what part secret screen I'm supposed to touch to get preview screens and the right edition?

  Regarding the size of the screen, I was able to view the entire screen without scrollbars, snap to grid is turned off.
  Quite strange when I deleted the corrupted question slide, snap to grid and recreated the question slide, I have encountered the problem again.

For a large international company like that, this treatment is unacceptable. My question was ignored compeletly. I expect you to take responsibility and fix your mistake as soon as you can. I tried to solve this problem thanks to the support team. Doesn't not work, if I still can't get this done, I feel responsible to let potential consumers know about this question and spread the word. It's very basic, very simple; companies honest and good; If a company promises me a service/product for a certain amount of money, he must deliver the service/product without defects.

• Hyperion Planning Smartview Adhoc not allowing not propagation

  Is this normal planning adhoc not to allow the spread of dollars?  I put a number in Q4 that I wanted to spread back, but it does not.  My forms work fine, but the customer needs this ad hoc form due to the formatting in Excel.

  Spread of the grid is not allowed in ad-hoc networks. You can open the form through OAS and then spreading a grid.

• Illustrator CS5.1 race uneven shift problem

  I am getting a problem in Illustrator CS5.1 I can't seem to solve. The attached picture shows the issue I'm having. I've put a 1px on three identical boxes.

  Top - race together at off - race overlaps edge of irregular shape, form seems to extend outside of himself on the lower edge

  Intermediate - value stroke center - race seems in good condition

  All long-distance race - set to race inside - tilt down unevenly, is no longer able to be in contact with a top edge of the shape

  In addition, the form keeps moving on the artboard. Using smart guides, I'm the one anchor point to an intersection governed, it seems to snap, but when I release the mouse, he'll jump a bit in a random direction.

  Looks like a line on the question of the pixel grid. The RGB default documents for this, but it can be changed.

  It looks like a kind of magnetism, eventually to the pixel grid.

  When you select the object in question, the snap to grid of pixels is checked in your panel of transformation?

  If so, try to uncheck it and see. You can also uncheck it for new Obnjects in the options.

  You can avoid it by avoiding the types of documents that have snap to grid in pixels default or change this default value.

  There are also other types of slam, but snap to grid of pixels is the usual suspect.
  

• Slowness of the ASM

  Dear team,
  I made a new installation of Oracle RAC using Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.3, included with the DSO, on 7 of IBM power servers. the installation was successful.
  
  While creating storage on the database instance, I noticed that this process takes too long and the flow of the DSO is 0.07 Mbps (response time 450 ms), then a tablespace with 40 GB took more than an hour to create.
  
  In addition, I also noticed a slow when opening enterprise manager, as if the e/s of the DSO is too low, noting that the storage is configured in RAID 10 and the ASM SGA_MAX = 272 M
  
  I did a test of mounted file system on a LUN and copy a file with size 40 GB; I noticed that it goes too fast.
