Question of unlock keyboard 9000 "BOLD" for blackBerry Smartphones

Thanks for the help to upgrade my BB bold 9000 OS 5 - it worked!

However...

I used to be able to unlock my keyboard by pressing on * with the answer key of phone...

and now he wants me to press mute on the top of the handset.

is it unlock any way to program this return to the key sequence?  my unit has been passed to me at work and has a sleeve on that iSkin... which covers the button mute and is too thick to allow the "secret" to squeeze through it.  whenever I have to unlock it, I have to tear the iSkin to reach the button. (what's a sense?)

I would take the iSkin, but my cover rear guard fall and the iSkin is the only thing holding it. (even once, provided work phone...)

Thank you!

Laura

No, which cannot be reprogrammed. Removes the new OS unlock keypad you were used.

If you press the Green dial key to enter the phone call log > Menu > Options > General Options > Homescreen composition set to NO, you should be able to use the K key to lock and unlock the keyboard of the device.

G, Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

The latest version for the 9000 is 5.0.0.50 OS 9.

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-9000-series-discussion-bold/221100-latest-OS-9000-5-0-0-860-...

Operating system device provided are "released" by specific carriers once that they are certified and trained to their support technicians, but still, you are able to load any carrier the same model by following the instructions below.

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Could not load the FaceBook Application for a 9000 "BOLD" of blackBerry Smartphones

It's my third BlackBerry 9000 "BOLD", and the first time I had problems downloading the FB app. It says "Sorry, your device does not the requirements of systems that are needed to support FB." I tried referral service book and removing battery - who did nothing. My "BOLD" is v 4.6.303, platform 4.0.0.248, application memory 61.0 MB, memory 859,2 MB (823,6 MB free space).

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated!

The latest version of facebook for BlackBerry is 2.0.  It was designed to run on phones with OS 5 or newer.  Your phone is running OS 4.6 which may not work properly with the latest version of facebook.

What you need to do is a search for facebook 1.9, which will work properly on your phone.

    I hope that helps you.

  • Is it possible to extract the BONE (do 'image') of BB 9000 "BOLD" to blackBerry smartphones

    Hi all

I have two bold 9000. Today I 'accidentally' removed the operating system on one of them with the help of the JavaLoader (of JavaLoader wipe - an option). Now I want to reinstall the same OS that I had. I have not found my service provider in the list of BlackBerry download sites.

Is there a way to extract the BONES of my second BB BOLD 9000 so that I'll be able to install it on the one I wiped?

    Thank you

    Ilia

    Hello

I do not know if what you're asking, it's possible, but it is also not really necessary. You are not limited to your own package of carriers OS (if it's quite strange that they are not on the list...). You can use any carriers OS package... the only drawback is that if you use a version that is not supported by your operator, you can go back to their supported version if they refuse you support (they can).

This is the best method I found for the installation of any OS for a BB:

If you do not use a bundle of BONES other than your home carrier, then insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML.

    Good luck!

  • Loading problems 9000 "BOLD" of blackBerry Smartphones

So I experienced problems loading on my Bold 9000. When I plug in it will show an LED light red, just before lightning appears, but the problem is that it requires 60% slowly and goes no further. I had plugged since 3 days, still at 60%. I tried a new battery and charger, but there is no change. I'm not the greatest sorta technology, so I don't know what I can do.

Try this. Connect your "BOLD" OEM charger and when turned on, remove the battery for a few minutes, and then reinsert it. This will reset the incorrect battery meter and can fix unusual conditions. See if it will fully charge the battery.

  • Experience of my bold for blackBerry Smartphones

I've had problems with my "BOLD" since I got it. I replaced it, no joke, 5 times during the first month. After talking with customer support and tell him, I'm basically stuck unless I wanted to pay more for another new phone. My problem now is that my hourglass appears every 7 seconds and spans a bit of wear and tear so my battery in less than 2 hours. Any help?

    Holy overworked processor, Batman!

Close half of this stuff! It's no wonder that your getting the clock turns!

    Your choice:

    1. the fast track: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

    2. the slow path: go back for the Ribbon Application Switch and one at the open time open each app shown and press Menu > close or exit.

You cannot close the phone, homesceen, BBMessenger, messages or browser. But open the browser and select the Menu > close, to make sure that it is NOT left on an active Web page.

Games like monopoly and wordmole, and google maps are kill your speed of processing and battery, as well

    Good luck.

  • Landscape keyboard in Mode for blackBerry Smartphones has all the keys!

Really panicking here. Updated my sys to 4.7.0.75 software, and now my keyboard in landscape mode has all the keys. The keyboard looks like a hybrid of the full qwerty and suretype keyboard view portrait, with two letters in a single touch. Some keys have letters on them.

In addition, portrait view multitap keyboard has all the keys. There are exactly eight keys with letters attributed to them. Areas where there would normally be keys and letters are empty.  View portrait suretype keyboard works perfectly fine.

I don't know how it happened. Someone at - he lived the same problem? Anyone got a fix?

Remove the battery for 15 seconds, then replace them.

  • 9000 "BOLD" of blackBerry Smartphones starting frozen after OS update

Today, I tried to upgrade to the new OS through Desktop Manager 5.0. The backup is complete, and the software installed. The process of the impasse on the portion of reboot. My phone turned on, and I saw the screen blackberry with the following loading bar. Fill the loading bar and then my phone screen AT & T orange usual world came (which usually lasts about 5 seconds until the Welcome screen appears). However, the orange screen lasted more than an hour. Because the software was already installed, I did a battery pull. The phone starts on the same AT & T screen and stops. The backlight always fades as usual and comes back up on top of a push button but its stuck there with no screen, now for another 3 hours. It will not allow me to try to clean or reinstall the OS because the phone must be running to do, and he said he cannot connect to the phone (but it does not recognize my camera when its plugged into the computer). I have searched the forums for similar problems, but others have not found my problem. Any help would be great. Thank you.

    Try this:

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life.

Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • Keyboard for blackBerry Smartphones won't work - HELP PLEASE!

My Curve 8900 is less than 6 months old, and suddenly the keyboad won't work, so I can't make/receive calls, and although the trackball works, it won't "click" to unlock. Seems to be an intermittent fault. As I have the Blackberry (it is not purchased via a service provider), I tried to contact customer service for Blackberry UK, who seems reluctant to deal with consumers. My service, O2 have been much more useful. How can I get a warranty repair/replacement, or solve the problem?

Well, after a WEEK, I'm totally furstrated with Blackberry. They have NO customer service in the United Kingdom, and as I have the BB (not through my mobile service provider, with whom I have a single contract SIM) I could get repair/replacement of parts. the only way I knew solving it had to spend many hours in an O2 store in the United Kingdom (my service provider) who finally had sympathy with me and agreed to sent for repair/replecement. I had one today renovated. It seems that this keyboard problem is common - the guy in the O2 shop showed me a way to fix it temporarily, hold down the ALT and right SHIFT buttons and press the DELETE key twice. This gives the BB a battery quick re-difficulty.

But I (and all of my colleagues (will now go to the iPhones, which are more reliable and they give better customer service.)) SHAME on Blackberry for their shoddy products and the non-existenet customer service.

  • Data question 9000 to 9700 blackBerry Smartphones.

If I use the BB Desktop Mgr 'DURATION Devices' app to move the beach OF my 9000 to my new 9700 will all my contacts, calendar, tasks move 9700? ... I regularly sync to Outlook (all these) and want to continue in the same way, but they will be there very well... None of these actions will not change anything, right?

    Thank you.

That's right, all the data, preferences, contacts, calendar items, memos and third-party applications to go smoothly.

I recommend always a final synchronization of "BOLD" for Outlook, but also a complete backup of the "BOLD", as well.

    Then move forward.

  • Support for blackBerry Smartphones Q5 India

    Hi, (question could be repeated)
Before you buy BlackBerry, I knew that its market is not as varied as android, but to my great disappointment I couldn't find apps 'base' which should have a smartphone. I need a free application map or navigation and to my great disappointment that BlackBerry maps does not work in India, in addition to that google don't provide maps for BlackBerry.
Please tell me is there any map application can attest to BlackBerry? Would be happy to install in my machine.
    Thank you

No, as I said, they are available in Android apps which you call is able to run for the right amount of.
You will need to get them on an Android App store, there is a good app called Snap specially written to help with this...

  • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?

    Hello...

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and fixed (size: 512 MB in your case) space that is available to the House of the OS itself, as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!
