Question of VSphere licenses (attributed more CPU than actually)

Hello!

I have three licenses of business (1 to 6 cores per processor) of vSphere 4 with different capacities. And I have a problem with both of them. In VCenter license page shows me that a license assigned to 6 CPU, but its actually attributed only to 4 CPUS (two ESX servers with two cpu's (4cores) of each). And another licensed showed as assigned to 16 CPU, but actually his attributed only to 14 CPU'. This license has a total 16 CPU capacity and that's why I can't add another a host ESX to my Infrastructure. And with last license, I have not any problemms. Why it might be so? Please help me if you know how to solve this problem.

Try to remove ALL licenses and add them.

If this does not work go to your portal vLicense on VM Ware, regenerate the NEW keys for your existing licenses and remove existing keys in vCenter, and then ADD the new that you generate.

You can split a license and then join them that will make new keys.

Otherwise, you must call the vmware support and ask people to licensing to help you.

  • Question of VSphere licenses

    I tried to find the answer on the web, but could not.

    I know that each CPU must have a license assigned to him. So if I have a server with two CPU they two haveto be licensed. But what happens if one of these processors is licensed. Can I still run virtual machines on it? And they recognize a processor? Or will not work at all until you get a license the other processor? Thank you!

    A dual CPU Server license is not on the installation of two different keys, corresponding to the two different licenses. One key has a number of licenses associated with it. You might have three dual CPU servers and will receive a key capable of maintaining six processors.

    If a server has two processors, license, referred to as single CPU will not install, and you will not be able to get out of the trial period.

  • Is the merge join Cartesian intensibe more CPU than nested loops?

    just wonderning which access method is more intensive CPU, supposed to leave we got 2 the same rank sources and make joing via merge join Cartesian and then case is nested loop.
    I know that nl can be CPU due to the tight loop access, but what abour MJC?

    The simplest answer I think is "it depends on the situation." Two of them could be disaster in different situations. Nested loops are suitable for a type of join and Cartesian for another.

  • Stabilizing warp count a lot more images than actually exists...

    Hello, everyone!

    I just installed first CC 2014 and I have problems with the stabilizer deform... I'm trying to use it in the clip with 25s and 24 frames per second, but when I click on "Analyze" it shows 1035764 images! In addition, it will take 2560 minutes to analyze all this! Do the math, it should have only something like 600 executives and take a lot less time...

    I know this stabilizer is very buggy, but I couldn't find a solution for this. Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance!

    Well well, for some reason any randomly, if I replace each file for itself the bug go away, I had to do this one by one. If anyone has the same problem, try to do this.

    This action solves the problem for now, but it took time to discover and solve. Hopefully this won't happen again.

  • Allocate more cpu

    We have a test server which has 1 database.
    OS: Win2k3
    DB: 10 gr 2

    We have a handful of users or less on this test at a time server. I run a query on a huge view (about 50 million records); and it takes forever. The host of the CPU usage is only going to 11%-13%.

    resource_limit . on the database has the value FALSE. No profile to limit resources have been created on the test server.

    No one is using the machine right now and it makes me nuts to think that I can use only 11 to 13% of the brain of the machine.

    So my question is,
    (1) will allocate more cpu utilization (especially when nobody else uses it) improve my query execution?
    (2) if so, how?

    apex_disco wrote:
    You'd be right. cpu_count is set to 8; but parallel_threads_per_cpu is only 2.

    When a session is only one thread, it can consume only one heart or 1/8 = 12.5%
    Some SQL code cannot be parallelized, so never will consume more of the CPU to 12.5%.

  • Is it possible not to have to rent the software, especially since I've owned 4 companies 25 years and purchased Adobe products and licenses spend more than $10,000 in these years?

    I can't believe that Adobe would not support loyal customers who have spent thousands of dollars more than 30 years on products, including this CS5 Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat 9 Pro.

    They must have a work around if we do not have to keep paying for what we already paid for. I know that Adobe has had a strong business ethics, just in the past and that he would not punish anyone who supported them for this long.

    I don't know that I have been misinformed. Please let me know where the company stands for customers like us.

    If CS5 works for you, stick with it.

    It was officially did not support or received any kind of update in a few years, but if it works for what you need, there is no reason to move to CS5.5, CS6 or creative cloud.

    If you use an older system, OSX 10.7 or Windows 7 (and less), you can still get the perpetual license CS6 by phone directly from Adobe. They are more sell online and will not sell it to you if you want to install it on a modern system, it is not certified to run on no more recent data. CS6 also never receive an update.

    It is more recent than what you have, but still several versions behind the 'current' offer two versions.

  • vSphere Licensing

    I am a student doing a project where I need to develop a virtual infrastructure. I chose VMware since I am more familiar with their products.

    The project includes two sites and a total of 15 people. In the beginning, I chose the vSphere Essentials Plus kit. I have 2 servers on the main site and 1 to the other site. I was going to buy an additional vCenter of license and 2 licenses SRM server. Basically, with the configuration of the infrastructure with the ability to replication on the other site and raise all reviews virtual machines on the server in the other site as a form of DR. The more research I do, the more I see how it is not extensible in the future. I also wonder if it is still possible given the licensing restrictions.

    I did research on vSphere standard edition because I believe that it is probably a better option. I have a few questions about how the licenses work as this edition has more factors involved.

    From my research, this is what I have gathered.

    vSphere Standard edition with basic support is $1715.72 - is that physical price by UC?

    I would also like, more than one instance of vCenter (1 for each site). Do I need to purchase a license additional vCenter, or y at - it a pack containing 2 licenses?

    In addition, in order to have the capacity to DR, would need RS. Do I need 2 licenses of MRS?

    Is anyway to get the price for all this? I was not able to find the price of the additional licenses.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi Welcome to the communities,

    you need a single vSphere Standard/ORL/Ent + per socket/physical CPU license, Yes.

    About MRS. you should take a look at vSphere replication. It is included in all standard vSphere licenses and of better quality. Perhaps it meets your needs, as a SRM license for up to 75 VMs would cost about $7000, I think.

    As you said you are a student, you're doing this project for a University? You may get lower prices then.

    I would contact the commercial service of VMware for the best info:

  • Question of encapsulation: protected attributes must be visible to child classes

    Hi guys, I found the following problem of inheritance and encapsulation and I was wondering if someone could explain it to me:

    Suppose you have a parent with a non protected attribute class static (I know that's a mouthful, thank you that follows).

    package package1.
    public class {Parent}
    protected int a = 10; It's the non-static protected attribute in question
    Public Shared Sub main (String [] args) {}
    what logic
    } / / end class parent
    } / / end of main()

    Now suppose you have a class of the child in another package and that you imported in the parent class.

    the package2 package;
    package1 Import. Parent;
    Child/public class extends {Parent}
    Public Shared Sub main (String [] args) {}
    Parent p = New Parent();
    Class c Child = new Child();

    System.out.println (p.a.); should print at 10 BUT did NOT
    System.out.println (c.a.); should print 10
    } / / end of main()
    } / / end of class of the child

    My observation is that p.a. generates an error, even if, to the best of my knowledge, it should not. I think the "System.out.println (p.a.)" statement; should I print a 10.

    I'm something of misunderstanding about inheritance and encapsulation? Could someone tell me if there is a problem with my understanding or a problem with the Java language?

    Thanks for reading this far. I hope that you are also interested in this question that I am. : )

    An important point to make, since rp0428 posted about it, is that the class of the child is in another package than the parent class. This is done deliberately for the purpose of this thought experiment. By the rules of Java, as I understand it, ANY class of the child - regardless of the package - should be able to see the protected variables.
    >
    Then you don't have to "understand" section of the specification of the Java language that I quoted.
    >
    If the class of the child was in the same package as the parent, the child would be able to see the default encapsulated AND protected variables. But if the child is NOT in the same packet, then it should always be able to see the protected variables. Isn't it?
    >
    No - it's NOT just as technical section I quoted said you.
    >
    Once again, without a concrete answer, he got to wonder if this is a bug hidden in the JAVA virtual machine. If so, my next question would be how to report?
    >
    You have a "concrete response." It doesn't get any more "real" than the specification of the Java language. It defines the rules and that I have cited applies to your use case.

  • vSphere Licensing Model

    Hello

    Can anyone help me please with the vSphere licensing model. For instanace if I buy 1 vSphere Enterprise Plus license then how many ESX servers can fit into this license. And let's say I have 4 ESX servers with 2 CPU (6 cores) each how vSphere then Enterprise license more what I need to buy?

    In addition, vSphere Enterprise license more contain the vCenter license as well?

    Any link, the document about the license will be really helpful

    Thank you

    Mohammed

    > For instanace if I buy 1 vSphere Enterprise Plus license then how many ESX servers can fit into this license

    1 ESX with 1 CPU (multicore).

    > And I have 4 ESX servers with 2 CPU (6 cores) each how vSphere then Enterprise license more what I need to buy?

    ESX 4 * 2 CPUs = 8 licenses.

    > Also, vSphere Enterprise license more does not contain the vCenter license as well?

    VCenter should be purchased separately but a vCenter is enough. You don't have to buy an another vCenter if you want to buy a few new ESX licenses.

  • M7 MacBook 1.3 GHz running more hot than the 1.2 GHz m5?

    Does anyone have experience with this? The new m7 Skylake 1.3 GHz running more hot than the 1.2 GHz m5?

    I hate having a computer warm on my knees, so I tend to buy the m5 to 1.2 GHz. However, I wonder what it is ' has really a lot of difference in actual use. Someone at - it a glimpse of this?

    Thank you!

    Hi Joel, any CPU which is clocked to run at a higher speed will have a slightly higher temperature if both the Broadwell Core M in 2015 Macbook and Skylake processor in the Macbook from 2016 offer low quantity of heat compared to the current MacBook Pro line. If you are still worried I recommend to visit an Apple store or dealer with a MacBook running all day to feel authorized intrados.

    In most cases you won't see much difference in performance using CPUs unless you do very intensive CPU.

    Maybe you can tell what your needs are for the computer, what you intend to use applications and then we can help suggest some configurations, you might want.
