  Hi This is only my second year really using after effects and I've not really used this feature before. But basically, I want to make the color of the water kettle. His white origin. Now, I don't expect the change of color to exactly match the kettle. But when I use the function to color the kettle from white to pink (a bright color), it works pretty well actually. But when I try to color as a darker color, that it does not work. I need to change the hue, brightness and Sam for this has no effect, but it is not fully complete as the rose.   I recorded my workflow here. As you could see the brown color change is very wet and does not work with only the hue. While the pink kettle has functioned very well. I don't understand how I got the pink color in the video, but I just enabled the effect on this clip.

  There is nothing to do. In: it's all just a bad workflow and you wait too long. You answered your own question already in part: use other effects, use several layers manually create masks and hiding.

  You can pin the object in place, so when you scroll down to the bottom of the page that remains in the same position (instead of scrolling effects)

  Well, the questions on the UNION, but your example has UNION ALL (they are not equivalent).

  That be answered, they technically correct answer would be to fix the data model. Having COL_1, COL_2, COL_X... usually reflects a design flaw.

  I'm starting to gret base AE suddenly. I have a question on the effects of text that I have no problem, add effects to a layer, but I was curious on how I can add both a bustling in and animate the efect on a piece of text. Unless I'm mistaken, that I dragged one indeed but when I drag an effect off can't do both to display.

  I am referring to text stock effects in AE sure hope this isn't a stupid question and it is possible that I have will understand this as I do but any help appreciated.

  First, an important element of terminology: the things you add to text layers are not effects. They have preset animations. There is a pretty big difference. Here are a few pages that give the basics of each:

  "Animation presets overview and resources."

  "Text preset animations.

  One of the important differences (and the reason I'm highlighting the issue of terminology) is that the preset animations are nothing more than collections of properties and keyframes for the standard layer properties. In other words, you can make the preset animations and - to the point - changes the results of them after that you added to the layers.

  So, don't think that with regard to the addition of a stock animation preset, and then another to get compound results. Apply one, discuss its findings, cancel, apply another and discuss its findings, instead, and so on. Learn how to build your own complex animations by examining how the animations in the predefined animations are implemented.

• Question about the Introduction of the video in After Effects

  Hey guys, I'm new to the Forum!

  I want to keep it's short enough for you guys so I'll try to make it as brief as possible. Here's my question/problem:

  In Adobe After Effects CS6, I created an intro for my videos on YouTube using a Premium battlefield model I found on YouTube and made it in a file format video 1080 p H.264 (.mp4) rendered by default "best settings". The introductory video lasts not more than 5 seconds. Having little knowledge of Adobe After Effects, I intend to learn more of the program using it as my default video editing (from Sony Vegas Pro 12) software and I seem to have a little drama.

  For those who regularly put introductions in their videos, I have a question for you.

  When I did a video today with my introduction in place (I had taken the introduction already made and placed in my composition and worked around it), but I noticed that the model I used was only a 1280 x 720 one. Making the resolution a bit distorted and 'big' than usual. My question is, should I render it again the introduction as well as the introductory model or continue to do what I did today is the introduction already rendered and move around?

  What do guys do generally?

  Imagine a movement that is only 30 minutes long. Now imagine that the time between the cups about 6 seconds. It's 30 minutes multiplied by 60 seconds divided by 6 seconds. This means that your AE comp, excluding the effects, titles or other things going to have 300 layers staggered on the time line for 30 minutes. Now, imagine that you want to change shooting 244 6 seconds 9 seconds. Which leaves you only 56 layers to slide around.

  Add to restore each preview and preview of the deadline for the memory live available and you'll see why AE is a program that I recently used to create a second shot 9 of 64 layers for a commercial, but I used first Pro is what I used to cut only 9 seconds to 30 seconds of spot.

  You won't find anything exactly like filters in Photoshop for use in Flash. There are filters in Flash. They are available at the bottom of the Properties window for an object MovieClip or button on the stage. Alternatively, you can apply and animate a filter in Actionscript. There is a good third-party developer, http://www.greensock.com, where you can find a few effects tools very useful. Most are free.

  Situation: Quiz to tell 5 random questions drawn from a pool of 50 questions multiple choice.

  I'm building the Quizzing question slides workspace.
  I can view the slide and add questions and answers + jpg images that may be necessary.

  If I want to add a shadow to an image, I select the object (img) and place you in the effect controls panel.
  I add a drop shadow and can make adjustments, BUT the effect is not visible on the slide.

  F4 project... would take too long AND would be not safe to view the slide at which I had added the image effect.

  F8 this slide... If I select a blank Question slide at random, it shoots a question of the pool of 50, but not necessarily that I'm working on.

  I can create another pool 'test', containing one question.
  Copy slides edited to "test the pool and the preview with F8 or F10.
  A lot of extra work...

  Then the effect works and would weigh on the finished quiz... BUT... I can't (without a lot of P'ing on) Preview and adjust effects applied to a question slide.

  If you want to test the effects on a particular slide of your pool of the Question, and you don't want to publish all slides to see it, just click with the right button on the slide in the question pool and select move Question to > the project main.

  Then, you will be able to preview the effects as with any other slide.  When you know that the slide is over, just get him back in the Question pool.

• How can I make effect halftone/rosette of "The Good Wife" title sequence?

  I would really like to recreate this look, but I find that when I do, even a sharp image, it looks blurry (for obvious reasons). I tried to jump on the original layer and make the effect by going to filter/Pixelate/color half-tone and then take the opacity down but still looks a little blurry. Any thoughts? Thank you!

  One of the things you need to remember about using a halftone effect in an image is that you actually remove information about images and consolidate in points.  So before using the halftone filter, you have to sharpen the image.  I say on the sharpness because that's what it looks like before you the screen.  After that it seems correct if you added enough to sharpness.  The level of sharpness, you'll need depends on the size of the point make you in pixels.  As you can see from the image below, it seems quite oversharp.

  

  But apply the halftone filter then remove the saturation and detail seems much more 'normal '.

  

  Expand points, and detail starts to become blurred again.

  

  If your results depend on these factors, but that should solve the problem for you.

• Starting Point question the effect

  I guess there is an obvious answer, that I can't understand.

  In short: I changed the starting point of a video clip of 10 seconds at the beginning of the clip.  When I play from scratch on the timeline WITHOUT active effect, the clip starts exactly to the point that I put.  If I activate an effect (it seems not to matter of what one is), the clip starts now at the very beginning of the clip, ignoring my point of departure edited 10 seconds.

  The 10 second point has been moved to the left of the timeline, and the workspace starts at zero.  Even when I apply something as simple as the Hue/Saturation, the same thing happens... once the effect is applied, when I click to play the clip, even if my 10 second point shows zero, the clip will now play at the beginning of the clip.

  Something is happening with the temporal effects like Echo? Remapping of the time / Time-active stretching? Otherwise, the behavior might indicate that a problem with OpenGL accelerated effects processing and your card is not worth, so try and disable the OpenGL option in the preferences.

  I am writing a small plugin effect, where I have one or two color swatches in the user interface.

  The layer I apply the effect will be PreComp (with 2 layers inside). So whenever I change the color of my effect, the color should be updated with the corresponding layers inside PreComp if fill effect they have.

  What I mean is that if I change the value of the color in the first color picker, it must change the fill color effect to the first layer inside the PreComp. And it's the same with the second.

  I know that its bit confusing.

  Now my problem is color is not updated correctly. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

  I tried to send a PF_OutFlag_REFRESH_UI, but it does not work. Perhaps this will refresh current only Comp.

  but this way you don't have to check in advance during pre-rendered, and you get the float values that MUST be compatible with those that you set in the fill effect.

  Maybe it's the way to go for you, because it only occurs when the user changes something and not on each rendering operations,

• Text properties in the pages of title - not showing the real values

  When I opened a title page in first Pro CS5 and then select the text, the following properties of the text in question are the following:

  Position x = 100

  Position Y = 100

  Width = 100

  Height = 100

  When I use the selection tool to select an area outside the area of text and then select the text box once again, the properties of the text above show their "real value".  For example, the above text for a specific text box properties will change to:

  Position x = 437

  Position Y = 134,6

  Width = 401

  Height = 170

  Please can someone explain why this happens?  In first Pro CS2, when I selected a text box in a page title, true values were displayed immediately.

  It's not not clear to me what would be the purpose of design for the properties of an element title does not display the actual properties, so I let go my curiosity and played around a bit.

  I tested in CS4 (then to CS3), and observed what I think are the same questions.  I think I would call it a "bug", although one whose effects are easily circumvented.

  Create a title.  Type a text box (or any other object, such as a form).  The x pos, pos, width and height are all 'accurate '.  Close and reopen (you don't have to put the title in a sequence).

  I think the text box (and the first text box if more than one parameter is created) are selected by default, but the properties are those of 'bad' Angela: 100, 100, 100, 100.  Click in another area of text or shape etc (and no matter with what tool), the properties are then "correct".

  Is the 100 x 4 a default value for something?  (I don't see any of these default values).  The titration module, select a design object (I don't think I like that, but I see as a design choice), but not bad set the properties of the selected object?  But then why put the 100 x 4?

  I also ran the test in CS3; same thing.

  I'm not bothered by it, but I think it's a bug, so I filed a bug report.  You can choose a previous version to the report, and since I have not yet installed cs5, I reported for CS4 (and said I have demonstrated for CS3 and CS4 and that a forum user has reported for CS5).  Angela, you can also report so there is at least one report for CS5.

  You see, I started with iPhoto and later began to use Aperture.  With iPhoto and Aperture, you can have ALL the metadata below the thumbnails, (nice).  Well, I put all my images descriptions in the keywords section because it didn't really matter, because these programs could show them as thumbnails.

  Now, I use this wonderful program of Photos and I found out that it will ONLY show the title of"the image in the thumbnails.  I've got on 30 000 images with keywords but no title.  I want to move / copy the text in the keywords section in the section of the title. I'm not a computer scientist, I guess that my skills are in average.  But I can follow directions.

  Suggestions appreciated.
