  I have a request of presentation of Oracle, where there are answers, dashboards etc etc already set and I can visualize coorectly in the current state.
  What I need now is to migrate to another server of BI.
  I don't think it's enough to migrate the RPD file, update the tnsnames.ora and everything will be OKto. What should I do? What is the fundamental role of the RPD file?

  I had leaned on enforcement OID to use as a name server to eliminate the need to have a file tnsnames.ora on each client computer, the potential problem that I may have is that one of our applications requires an ODBC system DNS connection is configured on each windows client.
  
  My question is will I be able to create an ODBC connection to "seek" the TNS service on the server of the OID name and if so how, or will it means I have to keep the tnsnames.ora file on clients with just one entry?

  ODBC does not work, it uses sqlnet in the background to connect to the database. There is no difference between an ODBC connection or a native connection via sqlplus. Configure your connection to LDAP as described here:

  I have a service I build made of 40 or hosts and an oracle backend that supports. Done enough is consolidate all alarms model host etc. but it is not put in oracle service alarms? Although it brings the underlying operating system (solaris) int alarms. But I do not receive stuff oracle 10g.

  I have added the database by adding a component as a general rule, selected database > oracle > reports > instances and typed in a search for the name of the database. Hit test and see. Tap Finish.

• Question on the A4 to letter Conversion?

  I need to convert a 8 pages, European A4 (8.27 X 11.69 inches) in format brochure color InDesign to 8.5 X 11 inches for the American market. I have a few questions, I want to get help.

  I m install the new hyperion EPM 11.1.1.2 on a windows 2003 server that is running on Parallels desktop on a Macbook pro. I installed MS Sql Server 2000 sp3, weblogic 9.2.3 MS IIS 6.0, jre 1.50_12 in line with the checlist of installation. I unzipped all the files in the download_location folder.

• Question of document Acrobat Pro XI conversion:

  I bought Acrobat Pro XI.  I scanned a document in a book and created a JPEG Image.  I have used XI of Acrobat Pro to make this Image JPEG to PDF.  I then try to modify the PDF into a WORD document.  Whenever I have some difficulties with the WORD document, errors or in other words, may not be a copy of the PDF file. I wonder why I have these errors.   Perhaps 2007 Word is too old to work correctly, or my scan image is not good enough.  Please notify.  Thank you.

  Good to know - when we scan a text on paper still have the scanner output to TIFF.  Use Acrobat to TIFF to PDF.

  Creation of JPEG via scanner almost always involves use of lossy compression really pipes of power of the image support OCR detailing.

  This is important when there is a desire / need to export PDF content to Word.

  Suggestion: Use Acrobat ClearScan OCR as it is more favourable to the inevitable "touch-ups" of characters / words that want to carry out.

  With a proper workflow, you can get a viable export.

  Don't forget - when booting with output of scan as 'source' you have the pig ears; You can't have a scholarship of the silk.

  We have a customer who requires their web servers to be protected with the IPS Module.  I have the following questions:

  1. is it possible to install the IPS in learning mode type to see what kind of traffic is hitting?

  2. can you syslog alerts?

  3. is it possible to use snmp around alert also interrupts?

  4. If you put it in promiscuous mode (SDI) what it means when you receive an alert about a possible attack, an administrator must log on the

  Firewall and block traffic if they choose to do so?  Is it possible for an administrator to block traffic (or leave if his)

  a false positive in IPS) without having to connect to the ASDM?  If you have a scenario where you don't want to give users access to

  the firewall, what is the best way to go about this?

  5. is it possible to set up an alert that if this is a DDOS email alert, if it's a handshake of split then just syslog alert?

  Yes. There are several ways to do this, but the easiest way is to put the sensor in promiscuous mode (in the config of the ASA)

• Question about adding additional disks with voting rights (AIX cluster)

  I maintain a database cluster Oracle 10 g RAC running on AIX servers and I would like to add another disk to vote. I intend to use the following, executed command as root: crsctl add css votedisk device_pathname.
  
  This command can be performed while the database and cluster services are active, or do I have to stop both before changing the configuration of the cluster?
