Question T540p Ultradock sound via HDMI & fwdphb03 do not launch

My problem is that when I am connected with the t540p to the ultradock this noise comes from the local speakers instead of via the HDMI cable if the monitor and then through my external speaker which are way better.

Audio playback devices I wrote: 'High definietyion Audio Device not connected. So I tried to connect directly via portable computers mindpoit for the monitor and then it worked. But as soon as I have it plugged into the docking station, which is connected to the same monitor via the DVI then the result is not plugged.

So I tried the station dock firmware upgrade by downloading the latest firmware fwdphb03, and it does not start in spite of being connected to the docking station and using an external monitor and correctly connected.

Any ideas?

Thank you

FIXED;

So I removed the NVIDIA drivers and all its software. I had to remove the reboot, remove once again, and then restart. Then and only then, I installed the latest drivers for lenovo download site and then the audio via HDMI becomes visible, and it works again.

I've yet to update the firmware of the docking station. If anyone can help with this?

You must follow these steps if you connect a HD TV to the laptop:

    2. turn on your TV first, then the laptop.
    3. laptop should automatically detect the HDMI connection and video output can be seen via HDMI to the TV.
4 launch Sound (start (Windows logo)-> Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Sound)
    5. on the playback tab, select "Peripheral digital output (S/PDIF)" and click on "Set as default"
    6. click on 'Apply' then 'OK' to close his
    7. the sounds played on the l should now also be heard on the TV (keys Fn + ESC or the volume dial can be used to cut the sound to the computer)

    _Please Note: _
    1. peripheral digital output (S/PDIF) installation default through Volume mixer does not output digital audio via HDMI.
2 HD DVD-video can only be displayed on the LCD of the computer bulletin board or on a television connected to the output of HDMI port. HD DVD Video cannot be displayed on televisions connected to the S-Video port or an external display connected to the RGB connector.

  • Satellite R630 - no sound via HDMI

    Hello

I can't find a way to get the sound through HDMI on my R630. I tried the audio properties in the Control Panel, but there is no option to set the audio by default to HDMI device as there was on my old machine.

    Any ideas?

    Hey Buddy,

I had the same problem but the solution is quiet easy: you must set HDMI as output by default sound settings in Windows.

Simply check this section of the FAQ from Toshiba, in my case it worked:

  • No sound via hdmi

    Hello

I have a hp dv9000 with hdmi output.  I signed up for Netflix and connected the laptop hdmi cable to our TV.  Use of IE, I started a film and the video is very good.  The sound of the film is coming through the speakers of the laptop, but not the tv.

Curiously, the windows sound is coming through the tv speakers and not the laptop.

How can I get the sound of the movie to play through the TV?

    Hello Bulverde,

By default the Vista transmits no sound on HDMI output.  To change this to change the settings in the control panel.

Note: This will turn off sound from speakers or normal audio output on the laptop.  To get that back, you will need to reverse this process.

    1. click on the button 'Start '.

    2. click on "Control Panel."

    3. 'Control Panel Home' click 'hardware and sound '.

    4. where it says "Sound" in green letters, there are three options below that are in blue, click on "manage Audio devices".

    5. This will bring up a window titled "Sound".

    6. on the tab 'Read' it has listed the sound options at your disposal. It should read "peripheral digital output (HDMI)" click on it.

    7. it should now check this option box.

    8. the sound should play through your HDMI connections to the TV.

  • 32L1375D - no sound on HDMI using PC not connected

My HDTV has been replaced by Toshiba (backlight went) the new tv is a 32L1375DB.
Everything seems fine, except when I connect to my PC via HDMI I have no sound.

I have check and out HDMI AMD is selected by default on my pc windows 7 (processor i5, 8 GB ram, AMD HD 5870 graphics card). But under supported formats says 0.

Audio over HDMI works perfectly on old TV and nothing else on the system has changed. The xbox, which is also connected to the new TV works fine. I tried the HDMI cable from the Xbox with the tv and tried on the two hdmi ports on the TV with the same result, big no picture no sound.

Someone else had this problem? Can someone give me advice on how to solve it?

Sorry mate, but I guess that this issue has nothing to do with the Toshiba TV but your PC settings.
Usually, you have to choose the HDMI (or digital) in the settings of your PC.
Panel of-> sound-> the Read tab

Here you will see all available devices. In order to get the sound through HDMI out you must choose this device as default.

I just wanted you to know that my problem has been corrected.

I know, hit me in the head, I would have had a...

Sometimes the simplest things are overlooked (I should know better).

I was not select RealTek Digital Output the spokesperson for "Default" to use.  So, it was still using the Realtek HD Audio internal speakers.

I just did not realize that I had to choose 'set as default' in for the external speakers to work.

After doing this all my concerns have been resolved.

    Everything works fine now.

Sorry to sound like a newbie & thank you for your patience.

  • (Redirected) Alienware x 51, cannot access bios/no sound via hdmi

So, I've had this computer for a few months now and have no problem with is. last night I put to sleep and when I woke up there today there was no noise at all. I have a hook up to my TV with an hdmi cable. I have it configured this way since I got it. I came back with nothing sound. But sound would come via a usb headset. The last thing I did to try to fix it was initialize the bios menu, I went to advanced settings, and then embedded devices, then I changed the graphics by default auto «Idfx.» Something that I found on an Ant from a user with the same problem. Apparently, it worked for them. But I have still no sound through my t.v and now I can't access my bios. When I start my pc, it's just a black screen until the login screen. If I hit F2 at startup, it loads the bios but still finds me to a black screen.  I tried to retrace my steps in the bios to change the auto return option, but it's a little hard when you are running blind. I tried to restore "default settings" my bios but still once I do blind and nothing seems to work. I have windows 8 is installed if it changes anything. I need help me recover the ability to return in my bios and two solve the sound problem. Thanks to anyone who can help me

    Hello winter anxiety!

First of all in order to return to the screen again, in that you can try to enter the BIOS and press F9, which will make go to its default settings, then press F10 to save and exit.

And in regards to the Audio test to go to the playback devices and verify if the parameters are set up.
