Questioning ADDM recomentation memory

Hi all

I was going by recommendation ADDM and came across this:

Results: The SGA has been badly calibrated, causing additional i/o or hard analysis

Action: Increase the size of the SGA by setting the parameter "30720M.

Size of SGA is currently 20395M

I checked use SGA and PGA for the last month:

-Gets number of hits when the memory usage is less than 5% of memory available max LMS

Select SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER, USED_MB

FROM (select SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER, sum (round(bytes/1024/1024,0)) USED_MB

of DBA_HIST_SGASTAT

WHERE name! = 'free mΘmoire '.

Group of SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER)

WHERE USED_MB > (by selecting round ((sum (VALUE) / 1024/1024/100) * 95, 0) in v$ sga)

/

no selected line

-Gives me max using SGA for the last month

Select INSTANCE_NUMBER, max (USED_MB)

FROM (select SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER, sum (round(bytes/1024/1024,0)) USED_MB

of DBA_HIST_SGASTAT

WHERE name! = 'free mΘmoire '.

Group of SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER)

INSTANCE_NUMBER group

/

INSTANCE_NUMBER MAX (USED_MB)

--------------- ------------

2 19002

1 18783

3 18985

If BMG never went more 18985 M instance within the last month

Then I started thinking about the PGA

Size of the PGA is currently at 4 GB

Same set of queries (but with PGA):

-Gets number of hits when the memory usage is less than 5% of memory available max PGA

Select SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER, USED_MB

FROM (select SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER, sum (round(value/1024/1024,0)) USED_MB

of DBA_HIST_PGASTAT

where name = 'total inuse PGA.

Group of SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER)

WHERE USED_MB > (select round ((sum (VALUE) / 1024/1024/100) * 95, 0) from v$ pgastat, whose name = "aggregate target PGA parameter")

/

Number of rows returned here...

-Gives me max use PGA for the last month

Select INSTANCE_NUMBER, max (USED_MB)

FROM (select SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER, sum (round(value/1024/1024,0)) USED_MB

of DBA_HIST_PGASTAT

where name = 'total inuse PGA.

Group of SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER)

INSTANCE_NUMBER group

/

INSTANCE_NUMBER MAX (USED_MB)

--------------- ------------

3-1553

2 1649

1 7877

Instance etc. we PGA TOTAL running went in close to 8 GB

Should I be not increasing the PGA rather than the LMS?

If my select statements are incorrect please let me know

Concerning

G.

Understood why Oracle recommends SGA increase

Parsed hard on nodes 1 and 2 were ok, 3.8% and 0.06% respectively

But in node 2, hard analysis is at 12.1%

As a result, the oracle of reason recommended this.

I still don't understand why the use of the LMS was not maxed out, however.
I would have thought that:

Select SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER, USED_MB

FROM (select SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER, sum (round(bytes/1024/1024,0)) USED_MB

of DBA_HIST_SGASTAT

WHERE name! = 'free mΘmoire '.

Group of SNAP_ID, INSTANCE_NUMBER)

WHERE USED_MB > (by selecting round ((sum (VALUE) / 1024/1024/100) * 95, 0) in v$ sga)

/

Would have returned at least one line.
Maybe I need to narrow it down to 90% instead of 95%

In any case I'll add memory on all nodes

    Hi all

While not not new to BB, I'm new on my Storm 9530. That being said, I have a question about the memory cleaning option on my BB Storm. Should I allow it and let it run all the time or should I just use if necessary. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

I leave it on on my Storm. I know that the manual inside the applications folder can actually reduce the amount of RAM free. I had 32MB or so free, ran the Manual vacuum and ended up with about 28 MB.

  • Question about video memory on Satellite L30-113

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30-113 and I managed to install a driver (I am learning how to in this forum, thx) for the video card, which allows me to change the size of the memory, what video card can be used. Configure the size of the (UMA) memory of 256 MB (including 128) properties, then in the properties of that memory for the graphics card is display 512?

My question is that the size 512 memory is real? Video card really use this amount of memory or is unreal? If so is it better to go back to 128 (then in properties is 256), not to waste this memory for nothing.

I know the les specifications specifications from the manufacturer, said 'max 256 memory hyper', but my question again: why in the properties I have the memory size: 512 MB?

Thank you in advance, best regards.

No, 512 MB is not true. The maximum size of video memory is 256 MB, but I do not know why your system shows 512 MB. If you set the video memory up to 256 MB performance will be no higher. Do not waste this memory to change anything back to 128 MB.

  • Equium A100 - 02L: Question about upgrade memory to 4 GB

    Hello.

The time has come to upgrade my laptop, but I don't know how to get the full 4 GB of RAM in it.

Toshibas page for this computer says I have 4 GB, but also that its two memory locations only consist with maximum 1024 MB card. Is the only feasible supplement by vista ready boost or something?

The vehicle currently has two 512 MB 667 mhz pc5300' cards inside.

Please help me... I am looking to order these items very soon and I don't want to buy something that does not work.

    Thanks in advance.

I found the info you can increase the RAM to 4 GB. You have to buy 2 X 2 GB RAM modules.
So now the question is what OS you use, because 32-bit Vista recognize 3 GB only.

  • Equium A60-155: a few questions about the memory

    Heya everybody,

I recently studied an upgrade of memory see Soulseek cause BSOD on my machine because of that I think it's "not enough memory". I have 256 MB ddr (64 of which goes to the graphics card which is a pain) aboard and I know I have 1.2 GB on board senior. My questions are:

    1. how many slots memory are there on the motherboard?

2 if I wanted to buy a memory chip that is should I choose; 184 pins or 200 pins? I could not know that one is my chip of 256.

    3. I found a few sellers on ebay who sell 1 GB chips (pc2700 200 pins), a chip of the United States won't work on my laptop without any problem of "tension"?

    Thanks in advance

  • Question about upgrade memory on Satellite 2140 (PS241C-2PW9XP)

I want to improve my memory up to 1 GB and I have a stick of pc3200 533.
I wonder if it would be ok or should I specifically pc2700?

    Thanks :)

    Hello

You can try the stick, I think that the stick will be low clock of 200 Mhz frontsidebus (PC3200) to 166 Mhz (PC2700) and should run flawlessly.
If you encounter errors with this stick, it would be useful to put some original toshiba RAM pc2700 inside.

To quickly answer your question: Yes. :)

  • Question about upgrade memory

Need advice on upgrading memory. I recently decided to upgrade my current memory 256 MB to 512 MB by adding an another 256 in an empty slot. My question is when I install the memory, I have to do something in the BIOS, or the system will automatically recognize the newly introduced memory.
    Thank you

    Hi Roohbir,

You have to change anything in your BIOS because the POSITION normally detects the available RAM modules. I would recommend watching the BIOS during the initial boot process to ensure that the new memory is found.

Soory if you already that, but please make sure that you clear yourself of any static build-up before touching your RAM modules. They are very easy to damage with a discharge of static electricity.

    Good luck with your upgrade.

  • Question about upgrading memory

    Hello

I have a HP G62 Notebook pc with 3 GB of ram. I want to upgrade my memory to the maximum which I believe is 8 GB.

Is this possible? Is there a question I might encounter? Also, what would be the part number to buy it.

    Thank you

    SO-DIMM DDR2 - 800 like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/memory-Pavilion-entertainment-dv7-1448dx-arch/DP/B009H4AZ7I

    http://www.memorystock.com/memory/HewlettPackardPaviliondv71448dx.html

Max is 2 x 4 GB total = 8 gig. Memory is behind the door of fat on the bottom.

Such things got stupid expensive, incidentally.

On the Forum, it is customary to mark an answer "Accept as Solution" if it solves the problem because then it gets indexed and is easier for others to find in the future if they have the same problem.

    Thank you.

  • questions pool expanded memory

When you play through steam I sometimes get a crash followed the error message.

Cannot lock the buffer of vertex in dx8 cmesh

According to the FAQ on steam this is caused by a lack of memory paged is reserved for applications such as direct3d.

To work around this problem, its recommended that you remove a line form the boot.ini file that unlocks the page pool memory. The line is 3 GB/USERVA = 2900

Does anyone know if this line is in windows 7 or how I can unlock the paged memory because I find accidents start to interfere with my enjoyment of the game.

    Any help appreciated gratefully.

  • Questions of external memory

I just bought a 8 GB SanDisk to my Fuze 8 GB micro card, and reading this forum has raised some questions for me I thought I should have answered before I try to use it.

    (1) should I format the card before you drop and drag MP3 files?

    (2) from what I've read here, it seems that the internal and external memories will appear as folders in Windows Explorer.  Fine.  I have created folders for each artist to make it easier to see (in Windows Explorer) which are albums in my rocket.  It seems therefore that all new albums that I put in the external memory do not appear in the correct artist folder already created in the internal memory.  (A new Beatles album, say, put in external memory appeared not in the record of the Beatles in the internal memory.)  I understand that correctly?  If so, I think it would be wise to put all my classical music in memory (internal or external) and all my other genres in the memory of others.  This sound like a sensible work-around, or y at - it a way more easy or more?

    Thank you.

    1. No, you don't have to format

    2. Yes your right, but no matter what do you all the files in the external memory will be separate from the internal memory

  • a question about upgrading memory CF for Cisco 3745

As we know, the cisco 3745 has 2 locations CF. memory One is internal with a 32 MB of memory by default CF card, another one is external.

    My question is:

1 is the same as the internal memory card CF CF external memory card?

    2. If I choose the upgrade of the plant CF memory from 32 MB to 128 MB, which slot will be used? Cisco remove the memory of 32MB CF card and install a new 128 MB card in the internal slot or simply add an additional CF memory card through the outside slot?

    Thank you!

    Hello

the reference for the internal and external numbers are different, which suggests that they are not compatible. So you will have to specify what you want to, for example, MEM3725-32U128CF (which is the internal upgrade) or MEM3725-128CF-EXT (which is the external upgrade).

In all cases, internal and external cards are not cumulative, in order to get e.g. 128 MB flash, you must either internal, or external card with these 128 MB:

    Q. can partition you the internal Cisco 3700 Series Compact Flash card and the card Compact Flash external to combine or separate them?

    A. No, you cannot join two separate Compact Flash cards or you can their partition.

  • Question about the memory consumed and active

I have esx4.1 on three dl585 running. I have about 100 active vm running, and I have a small question.

My vm is all 2008 r2 datacenter and I gave them 1 cpu and 4 GB of ram. When I recover a single virtual machine and look at the summary page, I see the bones of memory consumed host 4075 mb and the active guest memory 81 MB operating system. My question is can I reduce the host cunsumed memory to 2 GB without noticing a difference within the virtual machine?

It looks like you can.   To be absolutely sure that you'd need monitor assets long enough to have a good idea of what the average is and what are the tops.

  • Question about upgrading memory Satellite M55-S1001

can you please recommend what to do? I want to make my satellite m55-s1001 run faster please let me know, what do you recommend: 512 MB or 1 GB of memory? I'm not familiar with updates so please help!

    Hello

First of all, if you want to go for fastest laptop, you should start with simple things.
Try to defragment the disk, turn off the background process is not necessary, etc.
Upgrade memory will the powerful laptop and of course a lot more quickly.

To my knowledge the Satellite M55 should support the bars of memory 2 x 1024MB, and I also recommend the use of 1024MB instead of 512 MB module.

    Can anyone help?

I just bought an Equium P200D and noticed it uses 700 MB to 800 MB (minimum 40%) of memory even when not doing anything, there is an AMD x 2 with ATI onboard 62.

Is that correct under Vista or something wrong: the system seems slow.
    Any help would be great.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Justin

Don t worry buddy there is nothing wrong!

Fact is that the Vista operating system eat resources of the laptop! He needs a lot more resources as previous operating system MS

  • Question about module memory for Satellite M100-221?

    This module will work correctly:

    ASC 2 667 512 MB DDR SODIMM
    512 MB
    DDR2 SO-DIMM
    5300 MB/s
    667 Mhz

Module is unknown to me, but on this site, you will get information on the compatible modules and supported:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=25741&ft=m&St=3

It seems that the orcalogic.co.uk site is very reliable and according to that info you need a 200-pin-DDR2-533 SODIMM memory modules.
