Questions about the extension of my wireless network

I have an active Airport Extreme router and work well, but in some parts of the House, the signal is not strong and television puts buffering all the time (every five minutes).

So I bought a second thought extreme airport to expand my network.  But I do not seem that it is correctly configured.

Can you please help?

(1) if BOTH routers be separately connected to the internet? or the other should be wireless talk to first?

(2) must have both routers have the same name or different names?

(3) if they have different names, we will see the two networks as we move into the House? The connected device (phone for example) will have to switch from one to the other networks?

Thank you

Joyce

(1) if BOTH routers be separately connected to the internet? or the other should be wireless talk to first?

Certainly the second... it is connected by wireless and extends wireless... That is to say there is no ethernet... However, you can make another type of configuration... Please tell us if there is ethernet available where you want the second AE located.

(2) must have both routers have the same name or different names?

They have names... but even wireless name different base station.

(3) if they have different names, we will see the two networks as we move into the House? The connected device (phone for example) will have to switch from one to the other networks?

When you extend wireless that they use the same name and you will not even know what unit you are connected to.

Try again install... reset factory EI and place it in the same room as the main AE... and to run the installer... It should pretty well automagically select wireless configuration expand properly.

Place then the second AE where it becomes the first good signal, but can still extend that to your dark area... wireless wise.

Please post again if you try to do it with ethernet between the main and the secondary airport.

I can not this box at the top on the A100. What should I do?

As a side note, I also tried FN + F8 to toggle the Wi - Fi adapter, but nothing seems to happen, no indicator appears on the display. Is this correct?

    Hello

I put t know if I understood you right, but you said that the laptop accessing the internet via WLan, but you cannot select the option use Windows to configure my network wireless on the laptop.

So, how to connect to the WLan with the laptop? Have you used a utility 3rd to configure the WiFi network?

As far as I know if you want to connect to the computer at the other PC via WLan so the computer-to-computer (ad hoc) option must be enabled!

  • Questions about the Extension of JavaScript and SQLite

    Hi all

I worked with some my colleague on projects related to WebWorks applications, but there are technical issues that our developers want to know and seek professional advice.

    (1) extension JavaScript & PlayBook

According to the literature, we know that BlackBerry WebWorks Application have the ability to integrate with data, characteristics and features of the development environment Java® underlying as well as the native phone smart BlackBerry® using special JavaScript® (Extension of JavaScript) objects. So, we should be able to create® for Java (JAR) libraries and program the WebWorks app for BlackBerry Java API to call in libraries. Now, we know that BlackBerry® PlayBook provide a SDK WebWorks (Beta) for us to develop apps for PlayBook WebWorks, also means that in the environment of the PlayBook we can also use the JavaScript Extension trick to call the Java API of BlackBerry?

    (2) SQLite on HTML5

HTML5 standard offer of SQLite for us to store data in a SQLite database format. But the SQLite file seems limited only to be used in the Application of WebWorks. I wonder if there are ways we can read these file to another application (Application Java or other applications WebWorks) SQLite?

In fact, what I want to know is the possibility of having a WebWorks Application capable of handling a SQLite file that is received from the server side on-the-fly, and then return the entire SQLite file to the server.

It would be appreciated if some of you can give some tips about this, thank you.

    Wowzzz

lasterra is right about these two points...

We have not yet published the details on creating extensions in the AIR for WebWorks on PlayBook. We are currently working to finalize the open source on the WebWorks for PlayBook SDK so that we can download on github.  The complete source code for the platform will be available on github so that you can see what's going on under the hood.

Creating extensions in the AIR for WebWorks is very different from Java. We started to use a new architecture that should be able to provide the URI and proceedings access to APIs and placing more procedural API code in JavaScript itself vs. the ScriptableObject Java code existing today.

This new architecture will be a foretaste of the platform architecture WebWorks to proceed.

It welcomes more details about creating extensions in the AIR... but currently the API underlying main platform on the BlackBerry PlayBook is AIR and the functionality of an extension will be limited to what is possible on the AIR platform and its extensions.

In the development of the PlayBook options evolve, so too will be the architecture of the platform WebWorks... I can't really say much more than this now

  • Question about the extension of RAM on Satellite M30X 163

    Hello

I can install it as an extension of RAM on my laptop model?
I have now 2 x 256 MB (default factory equipment).
I'd appreciate any help about my question:
Type, frequency, the maximum capacity for each of the 2 slots?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

According to the specification for laptop, your laptop can handle with 2 GB of RAM and 1 GB of RAM followed the part number - PA3313U-1M1G. Put this number in Google and you will find info on this compatible RAM module.

To avoid compatibility problems, I recommend using the compatible RAM only.

  • Question about the extension of RAM for Satellite A50-522

    Hello

I have a Satellite A50-522, with a Pentium M 715 @1. 5 Ghz processor and Intel 855GME chipset. To expand its RAM I referred to the Spain/Toshiba support website and I bought the PA3313U-2M1G (1 GB SDRAM 166 MHz DDR333/PC2700) via amazon.com. It turns out that this RAM is for "Alviso chipsets" - which are those relating to the Intel Centrino processors with 9xx series express chipset. I called Toshiba/USA and they recommend the PA3313U-1M1G or its equivalent Kingston KTT3311 / 1 G (since it is impossible to find in the Mexico), instead of the one I already bought. They all seem exactly the same thing in their description, except for the note "alviso chipset.

    My questions are:
    (a) is the chipset of this computer, considered "alviso" type? and
    (b) if not, should I keep the RAM I bought already (PA3313U-2M1G for alviso chipset)?, can I have performance or compatibility problems? What are the risks of the use of this "alviso RAM' in a 'no-alviso chipset? I deeply appreciate your input.

    Thank you!

    Hello

The RAM modules for especially for chipsets alviso are not known to me, but the Satellite A50-522 certainly supports the memory PC2700 PA3313U-1M1G bar.
I guess the PA3313U-1M1G and PA3313U-2M1G are the same modules from memory.

PA3313U-1M1G and PA3313U-2M1G memory module are supported the same specifications of 1 GB - SO DIMM 200 pin - DDR - 333 MHz PC2700

I think you can use both modules without any problem.

  • Ask questions about the functionality of EA8500 MU-MIMO

    Dear Linksys

I bought EA8500, and it arrived today.

I have two questions about the functionality of MU-MIMO of EA8500 AP.

    1. I want to compare the performance between SU-MIMO and MU-MIMO, but there is no option to control this feature in the router admin page. Is that one of the possible ways?

2 EA8500 supports 1733 Mbps wireless speed, but it resembles the speed of 1 Gbps ethernet cable.

This router supports really speed 1 Gbps ethernet? or y at - it an option to support more throughput as the aggregation of links?

    Thank you

Hi, hyeonu. For your first query, it is not possible because there is no option to disable the feature of MU-MIMO on your Linksys EA8500 router. In addition, with regard to your second, you can get a higher throughput of 1 Gbps since this is the maximum capacity of your ethernet connection.

  • A few questions about the difference between the Satellite P70, L70, S70

    Hello, I have a lot of questions about the P70, L70, S70 series that come with a 1920 x 1080 panel.

    (1) what are the differences between the L70 and S70 series? With the exception of the RAM and HARD drive capacity, books seem pretty identical.

    (2) P70, L70, S70 doesn't support a 2nd HARD drive or it's just the P70 series that support?

    (3) all the three (P70, L70, S70 series) come with the same TFT panels?

    (4) of the above series, which supports mSata?

    (5) all the model of each series are delivered with support from mSata? For example, it could be that L70 - a - 13 m supports mSata is not the case of the L70-a-146?

    (6) all the foregoing, are delivered with a S - ATA II or III S - ATA interface?

    (7) who is the best of these series listed? I'm trying to understand what makes the big difference of S70 to P70 except for the envelope for example.

    Thank you in advance.

    > (1) what are the differences between the series L70 and S70? With the exception of the RAM and HARD drive capacity, books seem pretty identical.

What models Sat L70 and S70 do you mean exactly? There are different L70-xxx-xxx and S70 models on the market that supports different hardware specifications.

    (> S70 2) P70, L70, support a 2nd drive HARD or is - it just the series P70 that support?
As you can see in this [Sam P70 HDD replacement document, | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU3903II0000R01.htm] the P70 series supports the 2nd drive Bay HARD, BUT even if there is a 2nd HARD drive Bay, this does not mean that you can use the 2nd HARD drive. In the case where the 2nd HARD drive Bay are equipped with HARD drive connector, you can use the 2nd HARD drive

I also found the [Sam L70/S70 HDD replacement | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU3703HG0000R01.htm] the document on the Toshiba page and there I see this 2nd HARD drive Bay is not available

(> 3) all three (P70, L70, S70 series) come with the same TFT panels?
See point 1). Different P70, L70, S70 models were equipped with different material parts.

(> 4) of the series above, which takes in charge mSata?
As far as I know that some P70 models are equipped with an mSATA SSD of 256 GB.

(> 5) do all the model of each series are delivered with support mSata? For example, it could be that L70 - a - 13 m supports mSata is not the case of the L70-a-146?
See point 4) not all models supports the same hardware specifications

(> 6) all of the above, come with a S - ATA II or III S - ATA interface?
I don t think that SATA III is supported. I guess it would be SATA II

(> 7) which is the best of these series listed? I'm trying to understand what makes the big difference of S70 to P70 except for the envelope for example.
Not easy to answer because there are too many models released in Europea.
And not all models are available in each country. So I guess you will have to look for the models that have been released in your country.

  • A few questions about the upgrade on Satellite A300-144

Sorry for the typos, English is not my mother tongue.
I want to ask some questions about the upgrade of a300-144.

    * Some info first.*

    CPU: T2370 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/34445/Intel-Pentium-Processor-T2370-1M-Cache-1_73-GHz-533-MHz-FSB]).
    Chipset: GM965 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/29821/Intel-82GM965-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller]).

    * Questions.*

    1. my frequency of laptop memory at 533 MHz, supports 667 MHz memory controller, memory modules can work at 667 MHz. Is - this because CPU FSB 533 MHz frequency and new processor at 667/800 MHz FSB will fix it or it is hardcoded in the BIOS?

2 Intel said that the size of max memory for my chipset is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB), but Toshiba says that only 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), who is right?

3 I know, taken of my CPU is μFCPGA-478 aka socket P, max FSB 800 MHz, max 35 W TDP, so T9500 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB]) is a compatible processor or there are some limitations in the BIOS?

The speed of the memory is related on the material. This means that the FSB is responsible for the limitation.
If the FSB would allow support 667 MHz then the memory would also at this speed.

    > 2. Intel says that the size of max memory for my chipset is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB), but Toshiba says that only 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), who is right?
The memory depends on the chipset. So if the chipset supports 4 GB of RAM, you should be capable of this move to 4 GB of RAM

    > 3. I know, my CPU is? FC-PGA-478 aka socket P, max FSB 800 MHz, max 35 W TDP, so T9500 (http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB) will be a compatible processor or there are some limitations in the BIOS?

It might be possible that the new processor would be fully supported by the BIOS, but in most cases it should not be a problem if the chipset would support the new processor.
But as far as I know the upgrade of the CPU is not supported by Toshiba or any other manufacturers of portable and its your own risk to run laptop with the new processor.

  • Question about the recovery partition

    Hello.

I have a question about the recovery of HARD drive partition.

If I do the operation to clear the hard disk option in the wizard it will remove * all * or it will keep my partition recovery in this way I can come back later. I want to know because I would like to put on a different OS.

I know he said he would, but caution in the PDF, I found it says that on a normal recovery too (that he would remove each partition) and I'm a little confused about how the recovery actually worked.

    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

To be honest I n don't know what you mean exactly with this option to erase.

In General, Toshiba Recovery disk will wipe your entire HDD to restore factory settings correctly. This means that if you start from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen, everything will be removed.

In addition, the recovery disk doesn t create a recovery partition. It is not available. Disk copy just the files on the second partition in folder HDDrecovery to start an installation of HARD drive recovery.

    Hello

Here, a few questions about the number:

    (1) usually, you should get the Vista Toshiba Recovery DVD. If you didn t receive this DVD then you can order it here https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx or you could install the disc of Microsoft Vista.

    (2) of course, you can do this. I think that Win XP drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

    (3) Yes, you can upgrade the RAM. For more information, see your manual or search on this forum for similar topics

    (4) maybe it s associated with the graphics driver. Check if you can update. I would recommend additional check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS

  • Question on the extension memory on the Satellite A80 117

I have a question about the compatibility of memory.
(The A8-117 is a Centrino 1.6 GHz (Pentuin M 730 processor) with Frontal 533 MHz bus and 2 MB of level 2, Intel® 915GM Express chipset)

At the moment I have 1 chip of 512 MB (333 MHz, 2.5 CL) installed. I intend to switch to 1.5 or 2 GB. So what bothers me is: can I install a DDR2 533 MHz modules on this laptop (in this case the old 333 MHz one out)?
Official website of Toshiba only 333 MHz DDR are provided, so that the 915GM express chipset allowes it.

If it is not possible to 533, I guess I'll just buy 1 extra GB of 333 MHz DDR.

    Thanks in advance!
    Bostjan

    Hello

At first, I want to say, which is always recommended to use RAM compatible and tested modules. On this way, you will be sure that it will work well and without any problems.

According to the specifications of the laptop you can upgrade RAM to 2 GB max and compatible modules are: PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 2M 51) and 1024Mo PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G).

You can use faster RAM modules, but for me it is really not necessary. The specification of the laptop is the 333 MHz bus speed and faster modules will be not useful for laptop runs faster. It is best to buy 2 x PA3313U-2M1G and you will have no problem and portable will runs much more quickly than before.

Microsoft .NET Framework can be downloaded from the site of MS. Don t know which version is the most recent, but you can check it out yourself.

    > This? Where I cand find it?
It is a WLan tool that allows you to configure the WiFi connection. It can be used only if your laptop has the Atheros Wlan card. (you can check this in the device manager what wireless network adapter has been installed)
But this tool is not necessary. You can use the Win XP option to configure the WiFi network.

As more high depends on the integrated Wlan (Intel or Atheros) map

    Intel page!

So, basically anything that you can find on the page of the Toshiba driver must be installed.
Other programs like WinDVD, WinDVD Creator2, Record Now, etc is additional software that was included in the image of Toshiba, but it cannot be downloaded from the page!

    Good bye
