Questions of portable Bootcamp

I recently created a drive windows laptop 10 using my MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012) using a HDD external 500 GB and WinToUsb. It was working fine and everything was ready for use, so I inserted my USB with bootcamp files downloaded using the bootcamp application (so yes, the latest version of bootcamp) and installed all the drivers using setup.exe.  You must restart the drivers take effect and once rebooted I hold down option, click the reader portable and stuck on a black screen which requires me to eventually shut down the computer using the power button.  I was able to restart the player successfully in windows while it was set up originally on the disk until that which points to the drivers. I tried to reinstall a clean version of windows 10 and reinstall the drivers, but the same problem occurred.  I also thought it might just be install something then I let sit for hours, but still a black screen. Every third time (for some strange reason) when I have the boot disk, I get a prompt saying windows was arrested wrongly and I'm able to boot in safe mode sense, that the problem must be the bootcamp drivers. I'm not sure which driver is causing the problem and how to avoid it or repair. Anyone else has this same problem or know a solution? Any help would be great account where I put far too much time in this!

UPDATE - to be more precise on the screen goes black: I click on the portable player to start windows, windows turns the wheel starts, and then the screen goes black. Sometimes it will come back but then freeze just when the wheel rotation for windows returns to the top. Once fixed on the blank screen or the spinning wheel, fans of kick and that is where it is blocked. I hope this helps!

What I read, it meets the criteria to run AHCI, but for some reason, I can do activate or install the Intel series 6 Chipset AHCI drivers.

    I was thrown around the web with people saying: they got their SSD to work on the Windows partition, but I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.

  • GOOD QUESTION ON PORTABLE WINDOWS 8

    Hello

    I have a laptop from Samsung which has window 8 on it (I haven't done the 8.1 update yet).

    Recently the noise stopped working for no apparent reason. The speakers do not work and a helmet or any other external device connected does not work either.

    From what I can tell, the sound card/driver is Realtek High Definition Audio. Windows tells me that the latest driver is installed.

    How can I solve this problem? What do I have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

    I appreciate the steps you tried to solve the problem.

    Please answer a few questions to refine the question.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. are you aware of changes to the computer before the show?

    This problem normally occurs when the audio driver is not updated to the latest, or the driver installation may be corrupted. Before uninstalling the driver, try to run the troubleshooter to see if there is a problem with the system.

    Method 1:

    Let us make sure that the audio drivers are updated by visiting the computer manufacturer.

    You can see the steps mentioned in the article. You can run the audio Troubleshooter and also update the drivers.

  • Is a bootcamp VM faster then a virtual machine that is based vmdk?

    Performance question: is a bootcamp VM faster then a virtual machine that is based vmdk? I guess the only reason why make it faster would be to drive, reading and writing.

    Are there other benefits of performance?

    Hello

    Not a bootcamp VM is not really faster like a normal virtual machine.

    I understand your reasoning, but unless you open a lot of clichés about the virtual machine performance is almost identical or similar vmdk founded against based training camp.

    Which btw is highlighting a disadvantage of bootcamp VMs, you can not snapshots.

    Of course, if you start your VM bootcamp in native mode (and not as a virtual machine), you have a performance increase as you then run native on the material.

    Hello

    The L30-134 is a portable simple to office applications and internet usage.
    But it s not suitable for hardcore gamer because of the hardware specifications. As far as I know that the laptop provides Intel-Celeron-M (Yonah) 410 1.5 GHz processor and ATI RADEON Xpress 200M 32 to 256 MB shared video memory graphics card.

    The standard warranty is 1 year and if you sign up on the page of Toshiba notebook you will get a 2-year extension

    Hello

    I'm having the following problem:

    Sometimes the WiFi on my P850 138 will drop and the symbol beside the clock network connection displays an exclamation point.
    To solve the problem, I have to open my wireless network connection and disconnect and reconnect to my router manually.

    My P850 138 is connected to the internet via a connection from WPA2-PSK with a BT Home Hub 3.
    Note: The connection to the router is actually not lost, just connect to the internet.
    Also, the router remains connected to the internet.

    I would really appreciate some advice.

    Thanks in advance!

    > In order to solve the problem, I have to open my wireless network connection and disconnect and reconnect to my router manually.

    From my point of view this is not question of portable but a router problem.
    Have you tried to connect the laptop to another wifi hotspot in your area to test the feature?
    Recommend doing this

    In addition, you can also check if there is updated firmware for Wlan hub.

  • Slow performance Equium A60

    Hello... I was hoping for some advice on my lap - top. Since I had the A60 I was extremely disappointed by its performance. Again, it may take up to 8 minutes to just get started. When applications are opened again, it can be painful waiting for him to run. Is this normal? I've updated the bios and drivers in the hope that it would make a difference but it didn't. I have 256 MB of memory installed... so I guess my real question is... The memory upgrade will make enough of a difference or it's not worth bothering with? Just another thing... it seems summer mentioned previously, but what thought toshiba to place the fan in a place like this? I read some people saying that you should not put on your knee... When I use it... I have to balance in a uncomfortable position so that the cpu is not overheating and restart. Why call it a Lap - top in my opinion if you can't put it on your lap. Is there a solution to this problem too? Thanks in advance...

    Snoot

    8 min sounds long enough for XP start up my A60-181 only takes about 2 min. Much can count on what programs you have installed and set to autorun, including the stuff you ignore as spyware adware BHO (browser helper objects) can really hit the performance of Windows. I would recommend running some programs like Spy Bot S & D, Adaware and webroot.com Spysweeper scan. Also access the BIOS at the beginning with Esc then F1 tune of processor at the maximum power that could help speed up the boot process. Windows XP has really need 512 MB of RAM to work properly even if 256 MB should not be a problem, you can not run so much without your busy paging RAM hard disk. I'm surprised Toshiba provide not all laptops with 512 MB as standard considering the cheap means of RAM has become these days, but this is just my opinion.
    Anyway, to answer your question about "portable computers" back in laptops old times did not use flat on the heat so them sitting on his knees was possible. However these days, probably you could fry an egg on them it's quite scary how hot they get. I'm also a little angry fans CPU design, that I can't sit my laptop on the carpet and let alone the bed I have on cardboard to keep the air flow going.

  • HP pavilion g6 - D1M67EA #ABH: Windows 8

    Hello HP,.

    I have a question
    my portable hard drive was broken, now I replaced but have no windows 8 I heard say that the key of Windows 8 in the bios so that no problem, but how do I instal Windows 8 without CD? (Windows 8 was already on the PC when I bought it)

    ISO of windows 8?

    (cell phone use linux now)

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement of the recovery media using the relevant link below - this will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.  I assumed the model no of your laptop that you live in the United Kingdom - if this is correct, you can order recovery media in the HP partner on the first link below.

    https://www.best2serve.com/page/rcd_search?utm_source=HP-customer-care&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=RCD&utm_content=part_717447-331

    If you live anywhere else, start on the following link.

    Order HP recovery disks.

    2 another solution would be to download the Image of Windows 8 on the following link - Note this Image file is subject to a ceiling of download, you may need to try over a period of a few hours before the download starts correctly.

    https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?PLI=1

    Use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

    If you instead create a flashdrive bootable for this Image, try the free app below.

    http://Rufus.AKEO.IE/

    As you know, the product key for Windows 8 is encrypted in your bios chip and read automatically during installation.

    Other software and drivers you need can be found here.

  • Handful of sequence data contains incorrect values when loading the saved project

    Hi people!

    I ran into a problem where my values of sequence data are not correct when you open a project with an instance of my effect plugin.

    The values look good if I manually inspect when they are flattened and written in a fine when handle memory and restore AE sends PF_Cmd_SEQUENCE_RESETUP once the backup is complete.  But when I open / load the saved project, the values are not correct.  In other words, my logic flattening/unflattening works within the same session, but during the loading of a saved project, the flattened data is incomplete or has bad values.

    I write several objects to the handful of flat sequence data, and I was wondering if this could be the cause.

    The flattened sequence data manage memory looks like this:

    [[type struct A] [type struct b] [b] of type struct] [struct type b] <.. .arbitrary number of struct type BS... >]

    NB of struct type B varies, so when I ask AE for a handle of memory, I have this:

    size_t flatSequenceDataSize = sizeof(structTypeA) + (sizeof(structTypeB)* numberOfBStructsNeeded);
    PF_Handle flat_seq_dataH = suites.HandleSuite1()->host_new_handle(flatSequenceDataSize);

    Then, to write the data to the handle:

    structTypeA myDataA = <... populate struct values ...>
    std::vector<structTypeB> allStructB_V;
    <... populate vector ...>

    void *flat_seq_dataP = suites.HandleSuite1()->host_lock_handle(flat_seq_dataH);

    structTypeA *structA_P = reinterpret_cast<structTypeA*>(flat_seq_dataP);
    memcpy(flat_seq_dataP, &myDataA, sizeof(structTypeA));

    structTypeB *structB_P = reinterpret_cast<structTypeB*>(flat_seq_dataP);

    //offset pointer by the size of the first struct in the handle
    structB_P += sizeof(structTypeA);

    for (A_long vectorIndex=0; vectorIndex < allStructB_V.size(); vectorIndex++) {
        *structB_P = allStructB_V.at(vectorIndex);
        structB_P+= sizeof(structTypeB);
    }

    out_data->sequence_data = flat_seq_dataH;
    suites.HandleSuite1()->host_unlock_handle(flat_seq_dataH);

    When I access the handful of sequence data loading stage, the first struct in the flattened handle has correct values, but all following structs have false values.  I check if the handle is always the right size (I save the size of the handle inside the first structure) and it is indeed the correct size.  I wonder if AE doesn't like how I write from the structB to the handle.

    I'm doing something wrong here?  Is there a better way to store data of arbitrary sizes?

    Thanks for your help!

    -Andy

    Ah, I missed actually a significant error in your pointer arithmetic! You're actually in the land of UB ("undefined behavior") with your code!

    You add byte offsets to a pointer type, which is doomed to failure if you don't know what you're doing.

    If you have

    structTypeB * structB_P = reinterpret_cast(flat_seq_dataP);

    and do you

    structB_P += sizeof (structTypeA);

    most of compiler that turn into something like this:

    structB_P = (structTypeB *) ((unsigned char*) + sizeof (structTypeA) * sizeof (structTypeB));

    Wrong in your case (in most cases actually).

    Or more simple put:

    If you have a pointer

    structTypeB * structB_P =...

    and you do:

    structB_P += 3;

    It actually means

    structB_P = strucB_P + 3 * sizeof (structTypeB);

    already!

    Try running your pointer to an unsigned char * or another type of 1 byte basis and then make the increment, and then recast.

    Here's a site with more information on this:

    http://StackOverflow.com/questions/15934111/portable-and-safe-way-to-add-byte-offset-to-an y-pointer

    It could then look like this (on the top of my head, did not check!):

    void * flat_seq_dataP = suites. HandleSuite1()-> host_lock_handle (flat_seq_dataH);

    structTypeA * structA_P = reinterpret_cast(flat_seq_dataP);

    memcpy (myDataA, sizeof (structTypeA) & flat_seq_dataP);

    structTypeB * structB_P = reinterpret_cast(reinterpret_cast(flat_seq_dataP) + sizeof (structTypeA));

    memcpy (structB_P, allStructB_V.data (), sizeof (structTypeB) * allStructB_V.size ());

    out_data-> sequence_data = flat_seq_dataH;

    Suites. HandleSuite1()-> host_unlock_handle (flat_seq_dataH);

  • Bootcamp Windows 10 question

    Hi all

    Stumbled upon a problem, try to install Windows 10 an end 2014 27' iMac w/retina education runs Yosemite 10.10.5. Bootcamp is V 5.1.4. 32 GB, 3.5 ghz Intel I5. Disk of 1 TB of Fusion. Before you try this, I read the guide of Bootcamp to install windows, but also a number of other tutorials and forum messages about potential problems. This research, I learned that for EDU edition you must change the name of the file from Win10_1607_Education_English_x64.iso to Win10_1607_English_x64.iso. Apparently to have the former name of the file may cause OS X to not recognize the ISO. That fact I started Bootcamp, waited while the software downloaded and created a bootable USB key and partitioned my drive giving Windows 70 GB of space. After that, I got the message that my computer is restarts. Upon restarting, I got the black screen with the blue Windows logo and a spinning loading animation. After a few minutes, a blue screen with a message "Windows has encountered and error with computer and must restart," or something similar. He was pretty quick, so maybe it's not word for Word, but it was not a helpful post in terms of saying something specific. When the computer reboots, I am sent directly to OS X, though a bit slower than normal. I tried to restart with the flash drive to see if the installer would start up, no dice. Try now the Option key at startup, the flash player is not available. Went into my settings to see if I could change my startup on Win disk install USB, no luck it no more.

    Now for the question: How can I get the Windows installation again? What I have to start the process, and if so, what should I use Bootcamp to delete the partition that was created? I have re-run Bootcamp and the only option that is checked is the partition and start and install/uninstall windows and delete the partition.

    Thanks for the help.

    Perform the following two procedures

    Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

    How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

    If you use a USB drive, not a USB flash drive, you will have problems. It is recommended to use a 8-16 GB USB2 flash drive.

    If the installation program is located on a USB Flash drive, stop your Mac, connect the USB key, restart and hold down the alt/option key and select the Windows icon in the USB port. This installs Windows in BIOS mode. If you click the start EFI icon, it will install using the EFI mode (faster). You may need to change the partition from MBR to GPT using GPT Fdisk.

    But I wonder if using VMWare to make updates on my main image will in any way mess things, in other words, when a player of bootcamp partition running virtual in VMWare interface, installation of software and whatnot will be the same as if the installation of the software if the native boot? In more words, have VMWare tools installed on the Boot Camp partition will do anything to disrupt things when running native than boot camp?

    Many Boot Camps that I update don't have VMWare installed, because they are mainly used on the side PC anyway, to these people that I can not/never get clean windows. I want to assure you that I am not having problems using VMWare on the master Bootcamp partition that I use to clone.

    And just a side note: while I like your product, I can't tell you how much not having not not firewire support in virtual images is to play with a / V. Heads We absolutely need to have support firewire audio and video workstations. If there is support, I would never mess with boot camp again!

In still more words, will have the VMware Tools installed on the Boot Camp partition anything to disrupt things during this training camp native execution?

    Yes, you can perform maintenance of software (for example patches from Microsoft) for the Boot Camp partition in VMware Fusion almost identical initializing natively in the machine.  The only differences are the detection for device drivers that need to access the host hardware to update (this should be very rare).  Update in general things like Windows, Office, Adobe CS/Acrobat, etc. will be fine.

    As for VMware in Boot Camp tools, virtual pilots are designed to remain latent (inactive) without any problems, that is not loaded == not used.  There is only one question: activation software updates.  VMware swap files of activation for Windows and Office preserve activation in each environment.  If you move the activation of copies of Vista, 7, Office 2007/2010 via WinClone, this will trigger reactivation.  Also starting in VMware Fusion will require more activation by machine for VMware environments and British Colombia are activated.  As long as you don't replace Boot Camp partitions, activations should stay.  For the use of this type of activation, he preferred to a Service (KMS) key management to manage your licenses on site because copies at retail have limited the number of activations.

    After you perform a new installation of Windows 10 1607, I proceeded to install Bootcamp AppleBcUpdate.exe drivers on my MacbookPro 11.5 i7 Dual Graphics.

    This update has screwed up the system. Auto brightness doesn't work anymore. The brightness keys don't do anything. I reinstalled bootcamp on a fresh drive to isolate this problem.

  • BootCamp Windows 10 questions

    Hello

    I have a 27 "iMac late 2015, retina - 5 k, bought a few months ago and El Capitan (OS X 10.11.5) running

    I recently bought a 10 Windows in order to create a dual boot. Of course, as I write here, it did not work.

    I tried everything I could.

    First, using the key provided with the Win10 USB I created an ISO. I placed this ISO on another USB drive and follow the instructions in using BootCamp I would get an error in this direction: BootCamp does not install, there was not enough space to create a partition. -Obviously I have a lot of space.

    Secondly, I copied the ISO on my desktop and restarted the process. Same result.

    Thirdly, I downloaded an ISO Win10 of MS, placed on the desktop and restarted the process. In this way, BootCamp has been able to create a partition and the computer restarts and you are prompted to install windows. After inputing the windows product key, I chose the "BOOTCAMP", formatted drive (to be noted that the name has changed), selected it and after hitting "Next", I get an error something like this: we could not create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see installation logs.

    Any suggestions?

    1. use the ISO downloaded from Microsoft. It should be an ISO only 64-bit. It cannot be mixed.

    2 put the ISO in the Documents folder and do not.

    3. disconnect the external storage and perform the following two procedures.

    Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

    How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

    4. run the wizard of BC and try to install Windows.

    5. Please visit https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/assistant/6.0/#/bcmp173b3bf2 for the detailed steps for your model. Your model does not use the USB for Windows installation, and does not support the creation of a Windows USB Installer. Do not change the file info.plist Bootcamp to create a workaround solution. It will cause other problems.
