• Client VMWare Horizon on El Capitan

  MacBook Pro 15 ", mid-2015, retina 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD

  I use the Client VMWare Horizon (version 3.5.2) to connect to business desktops VDI.  I have a number of questions.

  -VDI desktop consumes all connected screens, either 1, 2 or 3 screens.  I find no way to assign the VDI Office to a single workspace or monitor.  I use the Macbook screen, a connected HDMI monitor and a connected via a bolt of lightning to the DVI adapter.

  -The customer seems to disconnect when the Macbook goes to sleep.  But it is not always log out properly.  More than once I have been unable to restart the desktop computer without the intervention of my sys admin

  Finally, and this isn't a VDI issue per se, when I connect my Macbook to the company via Ethernet or wireless network, I'm just flat impossible to print only printers on the network of the company.  The Mac is not joined to the domain, is unable to see all printers, and I roll the printer add by hand.  I am able to define a printer by IP address or FULL domain name, but all attempts always results in the printer print code Postscript and not the print job.  This is the enterprise-class printers Ricoh.

  Any help would be appreciated in any of these questions.  Thank you.

  I found the New Horizon customers are less than optimal.  I returned back all the way to the customer display, as a preference, because it seems to stay connected more, better and with less issues, plus the customer of the Horizon. Currently using the client to view v1.6... Fortunately.

  Printers - I put all my users up on top of the basic intellectual property. Very few questions.  Users/Macs are members of a domain and are associated with the hard cable, but do not use the MS Print servers. In one or two cases, I used Hello for some high-end HP or printers Ricoh.

• vCenter VDI Licensing questions

  Basically, my question is if a standard of vCenter license can manage hosts with VDI and Non - VDI workload without violating the EULA.

  -vSphere 4

  -Cisco UCS

  Customer has acquired the following licenses:

  -1 vCenter server standard (Cisco OEM)

  -vSphere Enterprise Plus for 16 cores (Cisco OEM)

  also, as VDI will run on the VI client thus acquired a set of 5 view come with:

  -1 Server vCenter for VDI

  -See the first 5 Add - on licenses (200)

  -vSphere Enterprise more to View 5 (200)

  The current implementation has a unique vCenter and 8 blades, divided into two groups:

  -6 guests for Admin more application VMs

  -2 VMS VDI host

  Scenario has):

  -If we use the vCenter VDI license, according to the "View4LicensingFAQ.PDF" of VMware, support Non - VDI running in a VDI VI is not allowed (see below)

  Q: can I run other workloads from server on the vSphere which is included in the view?

  A: No. vSphere and vCenter beam view components are limited to desktop deployments.  A desktop virtual machine is defined as a virtual machine that is running the following operating systems:

  Windows 95/98, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows Vista business, or Windows Vista business, Windows 7.

  The only exception to this rule are the elements that make up the virtualized infrastructure Fund (View Manager, vCenter Server, a Broker for the connections and/or management and tools used for Virtual Machine (s) of Office ESX hosted within an operating system of a server performance monitoring only).  Download the EULA here for details http://www.vmware.com/download/eula/.

  Scenario B):

  -If we use the Standard-vCenter vCenter license, according to the "View4LicensingFAQ.PDF" of VMware this is not recommended (see below)

  Can Q: you the customer mix vSphere hosts who have licenses from the beams of the view and vSphere license via vSphere la carte?

  R: a mixed environment is not recommended because there is risk of workloads server live-migration of a cluster of vSphere (via VMware vMotion™) in a scenario of disaster recovery for a license to view vSphere host, what would constitute a violation of the EULA. Guests are asked to keep their separate environments or buy to the map view to entitle the deployment of a mixed environment vSphere, vCenter, and licenses.

  
  Leaving apart from the facts that:

  -View licenses need to be reclassified from vSphere5 in vSphere4

  -The client may have bought more than necessary licenses

  My thoughts are:

  • -I have not read anywhere that the use of a Standard-vCenter to cover the VDI and the workload of Non - VDI is not possible at the technical level.
  • -I'm not 100% sure that it is aligned with the EULA
  • -Similar situation for ESXi hosts accommodation VDI VMs licenses

  If you use the view bundle vCenter only VDI workloads are allowed.    If you use vCenter who bought outside of the whole of the display, you can run anything you want with it.

• What questions to ask our office team to help get them ready for a VDI solution?

  I have a limited list of questions to ask our team of Fund to help find a solution for a deployment Proof of Concept VIEW.

  Someone has suggestions on who I ask defintely NEED to ask?

  A large number of the issues mentioned can be collected using software and running a VDI assessment.

  Take a look to Liquidware Labs software or the Lake to run a VDI assessment. You can automatically collect information from the inventory of office, applications, performance and graphics of the same intensity. With all this information, you can then start to target candidates vest for VDI and predict how the architect of the environment.

  As well to inquire about current operations, the challenges and the motivation to improve the management of the office team.

• Question time zone on Windows 2008 R2 RDS

  Hello

  We seem to have a problem with the redirection of zone on a 2008 server R2 RDS.   It's strange because there doesn't seem to be a problem for people in Sweden with a Swedish version of windows 7.  When I login to the United Kingdom with my version of windows and the United Kingdom time zone all working them correctly.

  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can solve this problem.

  I just did another test to my time zone: ' (UTC + 01:00) Amsterdam, Berlin, Bern, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna ' and it works very well. "

  It must have something to do with the Swedish language.

• RDS password question

  Hey everybody,
  
  Everything I read on creating reports using the ColdFusion Builder says that I have the RDS password, however, it is impossible to find a Web host that will give the RDS password.
  
  I can't believe that no one in a shared hosting environment needs report capabilities. Are there alternatives to the use of Report Builder to create PDF and FlashPaper reports that do not require a password for RDS? I have Crystal Reports 11, but as far as I know, the reports cannot be incorporated into a CFM page as a PDF document.
  
  In addition to having your own ColdFusion server, what is everyone doing for reports?

  The requirement of RDS is the Builder development environment.
  Once you have created a report using Report Designer, you can download the .cfr file in a hosted environment as you would .cfm templates or html pages.

• Question/problem of isolation of application

  I have a few questions about the creation of a pit file. And the question is, is the right way to do it?

  Sander, the .pit file is simply a text file that contains information for a vWorkspace connector to connect to a published application or a desktop. And the application you want to run must be installed on a server RDSH or a VDI instance. Based on the information contained in your message above, including application virtualization are not an option, there are two ways to isolate the application

  1 silo on a single server RDSH or a RDSH server group and post it to your users.

  2. install on win7 in vWorkspace farm bureau group and publish it on your users on your RDSH servers (this is commonly called a scenario double jump)

• Active Directory user profile question

  I have a weird problem.  I use two server Remote Office Server R2 2012 with roaming profiles.  If I create a new user profile in active directory all works fine.  I had a situation where I had to remove a user profile for cause of termination.  He was rehired after 3 days.  I created a new profile with the same username as before.  Now, when the user connects, they are logged in a temporary profile.  There is no .bak profile lists on with rds server.  Event files give a 1521 event ID Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is trying to connect you with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you log off. This error can be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.

  DETAIL - access is denied.

  and 1511 Windows cannot find the local profile and connects you with a temporary profile. Changes to this profile will be lost when you log out.

• Functional environment of missing RDS servers?

  This embarrassing problem for us.
  We had a fully functional RDS deployment:
  FS-01 (broker for connections, web access, license server roles)
  TS-01 (Session host)
  TS-02 (Session host)

  I logged on this morning on TS-01 and 02 - TS and received the following message:
  There is no RD connection broker server in the server pool. To manage, you can add add servers to the pool... using roles and features...

  Connecting to FS - 01 I see a similar message but related to the lack of session hosts: TS - 01 and 02 - TS are not part of the pool of server... the servers must be added to the pool...

  The wizard does not have the possibility of adding servers in the pool. Each of the 3 servers reflect only the local host, no other units in the pool.

  Assistant to FS-01 connection Broker allows me even at the basic deployment scenario select session to finish...

  I guess my real question is, how to add servers to the pool without recreating the entire wheel? The research were not very successful as search criteria this morning... :(

• Problem with KB3167685 on 2012 RDS - IE 10 Server freezes

  After installing KB3167685 on a locked 2012 RDS Internet Explorer 10 Server is having some problems with the gel.

  When to launch IE 10 adobeflashutil_activeX.exe charge also.  IE will not fully load a page.  The wheel will just spin and spin.  Half of the menu items are grayed out as well.

  If I open another tab, load two pages.

  If I use the task to kill Manager Flash page loads, but I have to kill Flash a few times.

  If I disable the add-on Flash (Shockwave Flash Object) the problem disappears.

  This does not happen on behalf of domain administrator, this account allows to circumvent group policy, that I use to lock the RDS.

  My impression is that Flash tries to process a configuration change or order the GP is blocking, but that's just a guess.

  The policy is a policy of closure.

  Any thoughts?

• RDS Setup error - Server R2 Standard 2012

  Hello!

  I try to install RDS on Server R2 2012. His failure to get and when I checked the events connects it shows the error " the Remote Desktop Management service depends on the following service: MSSQL$ MICROSOFT # was this service cannot be installed. "

  I tried searching WID feature but could not find anything by that name.

  Could you please help me on this?

  The roles installed: AD DS, DNS, IIS, WDS.

• menu collection disappeared under RDS on R2 windows2012

  Hello

  I had installed RDS on a server 2012R2 with success. I was able to add applications to a new collection without problems. Users can run these applications successfully from their Windows 7 desktop.

  Unfortunately, the menu "collection" has disappeared from my server and I am not able to display again.

  Users continue to have access to their published applications, although the collection menu is no longer displayed.

  But the problem is that I can not edit or create new published application.

  Could you help me to find what to do please?

• Credentials of RDS IE 2012

  We have a new R2 2012 infrastructure that contains a domain controller and a RDS among other things. Domain users can successfully log on to the box of RDS and use all the applications it. Our security policy for the intranet navigation requires certificates. So we all users load it certificates in IE using high security that protects the CERT with a password.

  When the user #1 logs and use IE, they are asked to provide the password for their certificates. As long as that user is the only user on the RDS, everything works. When a second, third or more (s), connect and try to use IE the guest for their certificate password will the session started by the user #1.

  Monitoring of the processes on the RDS proves this. When users 2nd or third answer to the quick process 'Credential Manager UI Host' password appears in the table of user # 1 process. It's VERY repetitive.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• RDS and Citrix application Streaming directly on the client client access licenses

  Hi, I just need knowa bit on the RDS CALs. We are currenlty in the deployment of a VDI solution and using APP - V 4.6 as our main method for applications, however, we also have a XenApp 6.5. Farm attached to our system and we want to use Citrix streaming along side APP - V until we can finally migrate to APP - V version 5. If we are streaming apps directly at the VDI client session, instead of on the XenApp server and then the client should we Cal RDS for direct broadcasting of applications. See you soon

• How to make a TSCAL 2003 RDS CAL 2008 R2

  We currently have 2008 R2 RDS Server licenses. He is the 2003 TS cal licensing.
  Now, we plan to upgrade our Server Terminal server 2003 in RDS 2008 R2.
  Can someone please help me understand the process of getting improved TSCAL from 2003 to 2008 R2 RDS CAL licenses.
