  There are several ways to do this - method you choose may depend on what you need to accomplish.

  Follow a few ideas.

  • A double tap farm in the upper left corner of the touch pad if it off for a single session.

  As far as I know the utility power touchpad is designed only for Windows XP and not Vista or Windows 7...

  Usually the touchpad off automatically when a USB mouse is connected. This option can be set in the touchpad driver. If you need to install the driver for the touchpad Synaptics and Alps Electric of Vista for your model.

  After that, check the settings for the touchpad for this option!

  Go to synaptics.com, download pointer driver for your operating system and install.

  You have the choice to disable the pointer of the ps2 that is touchpad.

  Disable the ps2 pointer indicated as mouse.

• Satellite A200-10W: I lost dual-mode Touchpad after Windows update

  I got a satellite A200-10W. The touchpad worked well at the beginning. Then, an update of windows has been installed and I lost dual mode on my touchpad.

  It is for me a normal function as a touchpad, but the mode button does not work. It lights, it do give me the button options, volume control does not work it did not scroll even in normal mode either.
  I reinstalled the drivers both synaptics and alps, but nothing helped.

  How can I ever use dual-mode again?

  Recently, I sent my Satellite A30 for repairs because the touchpad is dead. Since I had 'fix', his erratic behavior.   Recently, I buy a HP ENVY x 360-computer laptop 15-u493cl, which came with pre-installed Windows 10. I need to have it running Windows 7 for work related purposes. Take the help of other Members here, I was able to do a clean install of WIndows 7 on the laptop and have gotten most of the drivers successfully.

  Currently, I have a problem with the laptop keyboard and touchpad. They work but are acting weird. Whenver I type, much of the time, the cursor moves elsewhere on the line or a different line. Words/lines get chosen at random.

  Wanted to know if anyone has seen this behavior before and have a resolution for this. I tried to use an external keyboard and that works fine, so I know its got to be pilot releated.

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  I wanted to join you and help! I understand you downgraded the operating system on your HP ENVY x 360-15-u493cl Notebook PC 10 from Windows to Windows 7. Now, you have a problem with the keyboard and the Touchpad.

  There's no drivers for Windows 7 systems and you lack some of the special features. Here is a linkso that you can understand your right to demotion (although it is said for Windows 8, it is the same for Windows 10).

  Generally, if the WANT of HP x 360-15-u493cl Notebook PC does not get upgraded to Windows from another operating system and instead, 10 Windows 10 has been a new installation on the laptop, it is very difficult to return to a different operating system.

  You can try to use the Microsoft Fix it tool: Microsoft provides an automatic diagnosis based on web and the claim for compensation. Go to the Microsoft Web site hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows (in English) and click the green run now button. Follow the on-screen instructions.   I have a portable P-50 C and since I upgraded to Windows 10, I had problems with my mouse. If the needle touches accidentally any link, it locks automatically, without my volition.   I have the same laptop with the same problem - I knew not that it was linked to windows 10 but if it is, then it has not been resolved with the last anniversary windows update. Unfortunately the drivers for the touchpad seem to lack the possibility to reduce the sensitivity or disable the tap to click function.

  I just bought a new HP omen and it's a great laptop but I have problems with the touchpad.

  I have it configured as I want it in the Control Panel, but I still have questions, specifically around right click. The two questions I have are:

  1. Right-click involuntary. I discovered that this happens when I leave my finger on the touchpad while using a second finger to click. This always results in a right click, which is annoying, because I don't want to remove my hand from the touchpad, whenever I want to click on something
  2. Impossible to do a right click with right click on the button. The right click button only works if I put my finger right in the right corner at the bottom, which is annoying that I'd rather widely that the clicker is shared 50: 50 left and right. Basically, I stop everything and find very precisely the lower right of the touchpad everytime I want to do a right click.

  I can't find solutions to any of these problems online. Can anyone help?
