Quiz problems

Hi all

Having some problems with a quiz in CS6. I have 4 questions to my classes and then 5 pools in question, which I have 5 random questions at the end of the course. The user must take the test, however if I fail the quiz recovery button then takes me to one of the ongoing issues - taking the user almost to the beginning. I have not had this problem before, so it is confusing. Also, when I miss the continue button always present. I must have something wrong in the settings but don't know what it is. The 4 questions in the course of operations have no points against them and are not reportable in the settings.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much

Mike

Mike,

This is the way all Captivate quizzes are designed to behave when you click on the Retake Quiz button on the Quiz results slide.  This button takes you to the first object scored in the project, which may even be a button or clickbox for example.  In your case, it took the user to the first question slide in the quiz.  If the question slide is a normal quiz blade or a random quiz slide from a pool of quiz does not change this behavior.

The continue button always will be visible on the slide Quiz results that succeed you or fail the quiz.  The Retake Quiz button won't be on the Quiz results slide if you pass the test.  If you review quizzes allow selected, then the review Quiz button will also be present on the Quiz results slide that you pass or fail the quiz.  It's just the way works Captivate.

  • Delicate design, positioning and Organisation of objects on Master Slides quiz problems

    Hello

    I just upgraded to 9 Captivate and would switch to suitable designs.  Some problems, however.

    First of all, when I try to modify the positions of certain objects on slides in quick mask mode, the Position of the object on the tab Position have right and left gray.  I, for example, like to move and position of in the MCQ response boxes would design ('Type 1 from here' etc) to the left of the slide to make room for images on the right.  For some reason, I'm not allowed to do any settings on the tab position I try (and I think I tried them all).

    Secondly, the menu item "organize" is grayed out and if I put pictures on the slide, they fall behind the objects already here and cannot be ' brought forward "."  I don't know why the new objects (i.e. images) fall behind the other objects permanently.

    This means that I can't move some existing objects as I would like and I can't put pictures above them either.

    Very clearly, I'm doing something wrong, but the research, as I might, I can't find answers, and I'm starting to think better to return to the inadmissible designs.

    Grateful for any help, anyone can give.

    Richard

    Your question is not quite clear to me, but he can offer you already some explanations.

    Questionnaire slides have very strict rules. All objects incorporated, those are the objects without an individual timeline, are always on top of the stack. You can't have custom objects appears above one of the built-in objects. I found a few exceptions as described in this article:

    Buttons on Question/Score of Captivate 6 slides? -Captivate Blog

    What I said now is not specific to a sensitive project, but to all projects.

    With respect to positioning, see what you mean: you cannot resize the boxes of individual response, nor the overall box on the master slide, but you can on the slides of individual questionnaire. Look at this slide:

    I started by looking at the Advanced setting: by default, it is set to align horizontally, be sure to uncheck this option.

    For answers: select the global zone that has all the answers. You can see I've changed its size and position.

    I hope this can help?

  • Quiz problem

    Hello

    I did a test in pdf format and wanted to put a calculation in it, but I managed woudn't. Can someone help me please?
    I only did with radio buttons and underneed the form I did a box where final score should be, which the code must be where?

    Greetz Josh

    Hello

    Here is the form to you. I did the first three questions, which should help to get you started.

    Please note that in order to facilitate the reference object in the script you should give them unique names (including the individual pages). You will see that I named the first page and the first of the three questions given a unique name. Then the four options are also named. Then take a look in the tab object/link to the first three questions. Incorrect answers have a specified vale of 0, while the correct answer has specified a value of 1.

    Then, the total score on the last page add the first three radio groups. If the user provides a correct answer, then it is increased by 1.

    Hope that helps,

  • quiz or not? and... the button which has two actions?

    Hi all:

    This is the experience I want for the user:

    1. At the opening, the user will see instructions, a button (Counsellor response #1) and a set of five radio buttons on the right side of the screen.
    2. User clicks the answer to advise #1. Response text appears; at the same time, launching audio response.
    3. The user selects one of the option buttons and click on send. Feedback popup appears.
    4. When the user clicks to close the feedback popup, advise response #2 button is displayed.
    5. The user clicks on the reply button to advise #2.

    And so on, until the user has heard/read all the answers five Advisor.

    Originally, I used the Quiz tool multiple choice for that. (But this isn't technically a quiz. Users will not be marked on their choices, but will get "correct" and "incorrect" - type of feedback. They will also be encouraged to reflect on the reasons for their responses and be prepared to discuss with their supervisor.) I placed each answer to advise on a screen separate, and pretty well got it works this way, even though I had not yet added in the audio. Now I'm back after a long absence (period during which I forgot a lot of things), and I decided my existing design could be confusing for the user, so I switched to what you see here - all five answers (for a video of 'client' user to look on the previous screen) and their feedback on a single screen. And I tried to add the audio.

    I visited the advanced Actions panel and looked at the Captivate 'aid' of the page. I was following help along pretty well until the step that says "Complete writing code, using the options provided." I had no idea what they were referring to with the "code" or "provided options. So I tried to do what I want using just the properties panel for the answer of the Advisor button. The properties panel offers only one action per button, however.

    So my questions:

    1. How can I get a button to do two things at the same time (for example, display the text and play the audio)? If I could understand the advanced Actions 'code', I bet this button could do.

    2. I gave almost all Quiz items except the radio buttons and their links to comments. For example, when I added responses Advisor #2-#5 on the screen, I discovered I could not simply copy and paste from other slides or show the style of question on the screen, that I wanted to move. So I used Legend boxes. In addition, it seemed to me that a question box there is no advantage in this regard. So my question is: will, abandoning architecture quiz problems on the road?

    I'm sorry it's so long. Thanks in advance!

    It does not resemble me you should use quizzes Questions to this interaction in any case.  This is not what they have been specifically designed for.

    You can perform multiple actions in a single button click using the Standard Actions or conditional Actions.  I suggest that you will probably need to use this last longer than probably he finally some variables involved so that you can check what other options the user has already tried.

    However, I would hasten also to point out that you take here something that might be beyond your current understanding of interactivity of Captivate.  You may need to start studying up on top of the Variables, Run-time Events, stock Standard, conditional Actions and perhaps even of shared Actions.  Understanding these concepts will put you in better shape to succeed this interaction.

  • Problem with Multiple Choice Quiz

    I tried several times to insert a multiple choice quiz success in my slides. The problem is that when I try to take the quiz (for a preview), I have to click several times and wait several boxes pop up coming (correct, click anywhere; incorrect, etc.). All these boxes pop up show before he let me go to the next slide. Anyone know what I need to change?

    Are you found using the preview feature in presenter or switch to slide show view (F5) in PPT? Looks like you're watching just PPT presentation, who must play through all the animations on the slide.

    You see the same questions if you publish the presentation on site and view the published version?

  • Small problem with Captivate 6 quiz...

    I wonder if someone could help me with this little problem with Captivate 6 quizes?

    I've set up a quiz and disable the playback bar to save screen space

    I turn off the button 'next' on the issues because it allows to the learner in order to bypass the unanswered questions (and does not trigger the incomplete caption)

    And so I rename the button submit to 'next' - and that's fine, but when the quiz is reviewed there is no 'next' button to navigate between issues

    I thought that I might be able to hide the real button following behind the submit button (labeled 'next'), but finds that it is not possible to change the stacking order of buttons issue

    So, how can I stop the learner without going through questions without answer AND allow navigation during the review of the quiz?

    Pointers gratefully received

    Simon

    Hide the next button (Skip) under the clear button.  When you add a quiz for the Clear key is usually on a higher default stacking order.  But if it isn't, just remove and replace the button 'Clear' and it will be over the next button.  Usually, removal and replacement of the buttons on the quiz questions are the only way to manipulate the stacking order.  It's a pain, but this is easily achievable.

  • Help, please. Back to the Quiz creates problems

    Thank you for reading this issue.

    I use 6 Captivate with all updates.

    I have a long tutorial.  I wanted to put in place corrective measures, which means that the learner, when the quiz, you be reshipped to the slide with the answer, then returned to the question quiz that he or she missed.

    This should not be a problem.  However...

    That the learner progresses through the lesson (not the quiz section) the first time and gets the slide just after 'jump to the quiz', the slide seems to stop at first, showing initial content, but stopping.  He plays the audio and there is no additional information in the slide.  If you press play at the bottom of the course, it processes as usual.  What happens to all the slides when the restoration is requestion.

    Details: For each question in the quiz, I put 'Last attempt' to move to the slide.  The slide provides the correct information located on the course.  That's all what I changed to Quiz properties.  Let's we jump to slide 26.

    Slide 26, I click my button to continue.  Action, I change the option for "success" to "resume the quiz.

    Here is some of the best.  So when published or read, we come to slide 26 without problem.  As it processes to slide 27, is where it shows initial information at time 0, but does not continue, or audio plays.

    A test, I deleted all slide 27 except for audio, or other executives.  Not good.

    What is happening to the actions of all THE «back to the quiz»

    It shouldn't be rocket science.  But I'm totally stuck in the water.  If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?

    Published as executable, seen in FF and latest IE, as seen in Captivate.

    Thank you!

    Well, I found the answer.  I was duplicating slides, and apparently it works well with return to element quiz.  Still don't know why, but when I created new landslides, sanitation, worked perfectly. Go figure. Hope this helps someone else out there who has a similar problem.

  • Is this a problem of scope of quiz?

    I did a lot research forum on Captivate quizzes, including the large lilybiri workarounds.

    I think that if so many workarounds are needed to reach basic design options, Captivate quiz needs some TLC from Adobe and I presented a few enhancement requests to this effect. However, I digress...

    I would like to know if it is a question of importance quiz:

    I have six review questions in my class. They are not marked, unpublished. They are just interspersed with control.

    I have a test at the end of race that has the possibility of review allowed. To the best of my knowledge (having considered advanced interaction), the first object to report, measurable is the first issue of the test in the test.

    When the test is finished, when I click on review, it takes me to the first issue, not the first question on the test. I think that review should not take me to a question which is out of reach of the fact are not reported or marked.

    Is this correct?

    I don't know what else on the issue of the magazine puts at your fingertips.

    Similarly, all test questions are included in the number of test question, but I suppose that, being out of reach, that they are not.

    This seems more difficult than it should be. Given the number of questions on the forum, it's confusing and a little stiff without a bunch of custom coding.

    You are right that it is a problem of scope of quiz.  Captivate cordially a quiz question as within quiz regardless of if you had unchecked it under Reporting.  What this box is not answers report, that is, answers to the question was one that the user selected.  The slide of the question itself is always included in the scope of quiz.

    In this case, it seems the developers Adobe did not initially consider the many and various ways course developers would use the question slides.  They did not allow the fact that you have the question slides in your project that were NOT part of the quiz.  You aren't the first person to notice this omission. Please do not hesitate to sign a request for improvement for review 6 Captivate and add your voice to those hoping wore quiz will be changed in the next version of Cp.  You never know your luck in the big city...

  • Radio Quiz button problem!

    Hello world

    I'm doing a true/false quiz based in Flash.

    It is a question with two radio buttons with instance names t1 and f1 (real and fake).

    When the user clicks on the check answers a movieclip with instance name yn1 moves frame 2 or 3 that displays a tick or cross.

    It's all fully functioning, the problem arises if the user presses answers check again.

    This is for a reason any transforms the ticks to the cross and the cross to ticks and I have no idea why!

    My code is as follows:

    import flash.events.MouseEvent;

    stop();

    checkAns.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, checkAnswers);
    function checkAnswers (Event:MouseEvent):void
    {
         if (t1.selected==true)
              {
                   yn1.gotoAndPlay("true");
              }
         else
              {
                   yn1.gotoAndPlay("false");
              }

         if (t2.selected==true)
              {
                   yn2.gotoAndPlay("true");
              }
         else
              {
                   yn2.gotoAndPlay("false");
              }

         if (f3.selected==true)
              {
                   yn3.gotoAndPlay("true");
              }
         else
              {
                   yn3.gotoAndPlay("false");
              }

         if (f4.selected==true)
              {
                   yn4.gotoAndPlay("true");
              }
         else
              {
                   yn4.gotoAndPlay("false");
              }

    }

    My apologies if this is a really simple mistake, I'm very new to Flash.

    Thank you!!!

    Use Stop instead of gotoAndPlay

    Also, is not a problem, but when you test a Boolean value in a conditional, you don't need to use == him... as in...

    If (f4.selected)

  • Cache problems with Internet Explorer - SCORM quiz loading modules

    Hi, as mentioned in a previous thread I created several SCORMS using Captivate 4 and use Moodle to manage learning. The SCORMS contains a presentation and a short multiple-choice quiz. We are having problems with SCORMS not opening on first page, but rather around the quiz section.

    Internet Explorer-
    Scenario #1. If the user launches a SCORM of Moodle for the first time the module load early on, the first slide (desired result).
    Scenario #2. If a user launches a SCORM a later date, after having already failed the quiz, the module will be loaded at the beginning of the quiz (not result desired, but can live with it).
    Scenario #3. If the user starts a module a later date, after having previously passed the quiz, the module loads the results page and now shows a failure (certainly not aim).

    Firefox-
    The problem described above is not a factor. Regardless the user rank past that the module will initially launch the first slide, whenever it is launched. But Firefox does not results in Moodle notebook.

    CP settings

    The acceptance and rejection in Captivate settings are set to ' go to ' slide 1. The results are passed to the notebook without problem, but it is a problem in the third scenario, if a user launches accidentally after module have successfully earned a pass. Someone at - he encountered this problem and managed to force the module to launch on the first page? Ideally don't want to remind users in clear cache every time when you use IE.

    Any help is appreciated!
    Thank you

    Publication of SCORMS in the hat 4 with preferences for AS2, SCORM Version 1.2 and Flash Player 7. Tested with IE8

    Hello

    It is not a cache issue - is in fact of Captivate in "resume function" that does this.

    You must disable this "feature" in Captivate yourself. Access reports settings in Captivate and click LMS customization settings in the lower right. Check the box "never send RESUME data", and then republish your SCORM package.

  • Problems emailing quiz results

    I am trying to send email quiz results - he does that very well at the end of the quiz, but it sends also a set of "fail" stats on most of the blades, so the person who takes the quiz ends with a pile of e-mail to send messages! I tried different variations of settings in the Quiz Manager, I also tried selecting buttons on the relevant screens and under properties saying I don't want the results of this screen... but I still get them.

    I do something really stupid, and is there an easy answer to this?

    Any help gratefully received!

    There is a problem with Captivate 2 in this area - the solution seems to lie in the e-learning forum in a thread called 'Report - Email problem' has started on 19/02/2007. I'll go off and try it...!

  • Problem with the results of the quiz.

    Hey guys, I have a problem with a questionnaire that I need to do, I use this model: http://www.Permadi.com/Tutorial/flashMXQuiz/index.html

    But does not include what I need and it is to know how to put a message at the end of the game that tells you that you have won or lost depending on if you had at least two questions of law or right less than two.

    I ve looking and have not found not any code I could add to my ActionScript.

    I have also tried with variables like this:

    If (numofQuestionsAnsweredCorrectly > = 2) {gotoAndPlay (3)}

    on the other

    {gotoAndPlay (6)}

    .. and stuff like that. I'm sorry if it's completely false... I'm just starting to learn.

    I hope someone can help me with this.

    Thank you

    Thank you guys so much for answering this quickly! I got the answer correctly thanks in part to Ned Murphy for having said that my code is correct. I feel a bit stupid because while I wrote correctly here, which actually was a mistake, you see, I had a couple of frames containing the tag that win or lose, and instead of the chassis number that I had written their names as in {gotoAndPlay("win")} but I wrote from memory and didn't know I had just changed. I realized that before sinious replied, but I'll check your tutorial anyway.

    Thank you very much.

  • My interactive Quiz does not work if I publish in MP4 or YouTube.  I can solve this problem?

    I created an interactive quiz in my introduction to Captivate, but I seem to lose the quiz if I publish in MP4 or YouTube.  All fixes to this?

    Hello

    We cannot have the interactivity in a video. Therefore, output published in .mp4 will not interactivity.

    We can only download YouTube video formats, so we cannot have objects ineractive or quiz on Youtube.

    To allow interactivity, you'll need to publish .swf, .pdf or .html, but still, we cannot download these formats on youtube.

    Thank you.

  • Allow movement backward in Quiz is causing a problem

    I have a slide in which the user listen to audio, then I have a question (hot point) about the audio slide. I want to be able to listen to it once again before answering the question. So I was moving backward. But when they come back to the question slide shows review "you have not completed this question" and does not offer the option to do so. I'm in Captivate 5 on a Windows 7. Any suggestions?

    Once a user is on a question slide, it is necessary to exhaust the attempts that you gave on the level of the question, it is the way in which questionnaires have been designed.

    If you allow several attempts on Quiz level, user will be able to resume after completing the quiz, but answers (correct and incorrect) will be given to zero first.

    Only solution to what you want is to create a question slide custom rather than use the default test blades.
