R810 unknown-12800 DDR3 DIMM

My R810 is currently equipped with 64 GB (16 x 4 GB) of DDR3 8500R sticks and we were willing to bump up to 128 GB. We have four Xeons E7540 mounted.

We bought four of ram ECC DDR3 of IBM-12800R (2Rx4, 1.5V, IBM part number is 00D 4968) which I think should be OK, if overspec'd.

Crucial sale little similar of RAM (edge.crucial.com/.../mpartspecs.aspx) which seems to be the same spec'd, page States side to be 1.35v - and this guaranteed compatible with R810.

My error is: unsupported: pair of DIMM A1 Lockstep DIMM A1 & A2 disabled. Please replace the DIMM or remove the pair lockstep.

Then why my DIMM is not recognized? Is it safe to start anyway (I don't remember if he gave me the opportunity, I went back to the original 4 GB sticks in order to install a new OS.)

My RAM with the RAM configuration do not match a:

A1 - A2: 16GB IBM sticks (2 locations)
B1 - B8: 8500R 4 GB sticks (8 slots completely filled)
C1 - C8: 8500R 4 GB sticks (8 slots completely filled)
D1 - D2: 16GB IBM sticks (2 locations)

At startup I get the error for both A1 and D1, so I don't think it was a wrong seat because she is always applied to all slots with chopsticks of 16 GB of RAM.

Tim - B,

There are a few things to check. What is the installed processor, as well as the version of riser in the server? With the error you get it is normally due to processor incompatibility, which, in the R810, 16 GB DIMMs not are not supported in the case that a Nehalem processor is installed. Also, the DIMMs of low voltage only will benefit in the R810 if riser memory has the Roman numeral II on this subject.

I would like to know if this is what you see.

It is absolutely essential that any new module of RAM is fully compatible with both the motherboard and/or any other module of RAM already in the system.  In addition, there are sometimes jumper switches on old motherboards that need to be reset for new configurations of the RAM.  Consult the manual of your motherboard or the web site of the manufacturer for specific instructions and compatibility requirements.

If you can't get your hands on the manual of the computer and the manufacturer does not provide a support web site, you can use these utilities to help determine the right kind of RAM required:

Another option is a 8 GB module, which has the following features:

    Thank you very much!

Lol your laptop computer using PC3L... low voltage 1.35 volts and both those you have questions on clearly say 1.5 volt. Just in general there is no advantage to opt out of 'games' or 'performance' memory on consumer laptops. The systems are designed to work with conservative settings according to the distribution of the masses.

Your laptop will accept 16 GB of RAM, but I would say go to crucial.com and look for a guaranteed memory compatible with your laptop. You're better off with 2 identical sticks of memory because you will then have the mode "dual channel" which is a bit faster.

    Hello

I need to replace my RAM on my HP 700-149 due 800 000 errors found after the use of Mem86 +.

Actual available memory that can be used in Windows will be less. Because memory uses two channels, you must use the same DIMM type for the two casings

  • How the Pavilion HPE-150 t has 6 GB of RAM with 3 DIMM slots

Check the specifications for the Pavilion HPE-150 t, I see that HP currently offers a free upgrade to 6 GB of RAM (from 4 GB.) What I don't understand is that these 6 GB of RAM are provided in 3 DIMMs.

The only setting I can think of that allows two-channel with 3 DIMMs mode in this situation is to have a pair of 1.5 GB DIMMS in channel A and a single 3 GB DIMM in channel B.

However, AFAIK, DIMM is not sold in one of these densities (1.5 GB and 3 GB.)

Can someone explain this for me, please?

As far as I know, HP is not the "Dual-channel" advertising - they simply offer amount:

    http://www.shopping.HP.com/series/category/desktops/HPE150t_series/3/computer_store?JumpID=reg_R1002_USEN

FREE UPDATE! 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM [3 DIMMS] from 4 GB

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01976259

It is highly unlikely HP POP just in an extra 2 GB DIMMS.

The only way you can get dual channel of this mobo is to fill the memory DDR3 DIMM 2 and 4 or all 4 DIMM with the same type and density.

    Hi all

AFAIK the U840-10U has a 4 GB of DDR3 memory module memory (1600 MHz). It also has an extra plug for an additional memory module. Am I wrong?

This model has dual-channel memory technology? I mean, if I add a new additional 4 GB of DDR3 (1600 MHz) memory module, the computer would be able to access it at the same time? I'll make it through the Toshiba SAT official not to lose the warranty.

    Hello

According to Corsair, the DIMMs that you chose is detected only at 1600 mhz, which is not in the specifications published by HP.

You can roll the dice on the DIMMs that you chose, but I wouldn't recommend that buy you them until you contact Corsair and get a confirmation.  Computers HP can be very finicky with DIMMs, especially if you try to mix them with other DIMM modules.  If you do buy these bars and want to be them mixed with the existing DIMMs, then make sure the timings of latency CASE corresponding information validated HP. Also mix DIMM sizes will cause the memory function in unbalanced mode that adversely affect the performance of the memory.

You should be able to make your own decision on whether to roll the dice.
