RAC, listener to scan and firewall

Hello

We have a 11.2.0.3.8 SE RAC on linux 6.5 server two oracle. An instance must be accessiable by clients behind one firewall, either case, not. My solution is a second local listener with a different port. If you know another way, I'll be happy to hear, thank you.

Best regards

Thomas

There are a number of considerations.

The TNS connect string wants to connect to a service. This service can have multiple points of termination (supported by a number of bodies and registered with the listener by these bodies).

You can connect to server1 public static IP, port 1521 and ask a connection service dbname1. But as dbname1 was recorded by all RAC servers and that the listener also has port 1527 as tcp listener endpoint and addresses are used as a number of IP static and virtual - your client could very well be redirected by the database instance listener 5 Server5, via a virtual IP address and the port 1527.

If a connection request by the client on port 1521 to server1, doesn't mean that's where the real Oracle client-server session will end.

If you are planning that the static tcp, the listener port should only be listening on a single port. I've seen listeners set up for multiple ports (1521 and 1527), with only one port opened through a firewall, with intermittent connectivity - result as any other connection get a redirect to the other port.

The listener also distributes host names (assuming a good config listener.ora and network) when the redirection of a client connection.  For example you connecting host server1 name and get a redirect to Server5.

If server1 is only accessible IP the current network (firewall, etc.), we can address the redirect on the client - in solving all host names passed by the listener to the IP address that works. For example local hosts file customer resolve server1 Server5and server1-vip to Server5-vip, this unique IP to work.

If you want a client to select a specific instance of the CARS to connect to (or force connections to a single specific instance), you can use the service_name parameter. This is by default the value db name and db-domain on multiple RAC instances. This means that all levels of RAC record the same service with listeners. Allowing a connection of client for this service will be handled by any instance RAC (high availability, etc.).

You can also add a unique service for this instance RAC instance RAC. This service will be so registered by a single instance of the FCAC and the client connections requesting this service (connection via SCAN or other listeners CARS), will always get redirected to this forum.

In the scenario you described, I would not use a secondary headset. I would like to use a unique service name to limit client connections to one specific instance of the CAR and the hostname/IP server. I would not use several ports tcp as listener endpoints. And then ask this IP and port to be open on the firewall and giving that service name to the clients that connect through the firewall.

Every time I turn off my pc, the sacnning in real-time and the firewall are disable... and it happed after I purchsed online McFee, I used to have Panda Antivirus for Netbooks and used to work in perfect!

I will never againg buy McAfee products, I told my two sister not to buy any product from McAfee for their pc... and I have already said that most of my friends not to buy no matter what McAfee Antivirus...

    .. .it really sucks...

I recommend that you uninstall McAfee using the special removal tool: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/McAfee-Consumer-Product-Removal-Tool.shtml (not just uninstall because it works well and you will have problems with the system itself, as well as with the installation of other products).  If you just bought it, it may still be in some kind of trial period and you may be able to get a refund if you have already paid for it (you should check with them on that).  Explain your problems, if necessary, and that you intend to report on blogs and everywhere you can and they may decide to make an exception if at first, they refuse to allow the return.

Once done, reboot and you should now be able to re - activate the Windows Firewall. http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off Check to ensure that the parameters are still accurate that McAfee could change their.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try to understand how they disabled so we can reactivate if the normal process does not work.

Then, you need something to replace McAfee for AV / AM fine.  I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials for free at:http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Microsoft-Security-Essentials-Download-131683.html for analysis in real time on the daily basis and periodic analyses of rapid or complete.  I also suggest the free Malwarebytes to:http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php don't not running constantly, but in order to update and do a full scan every few weeks or just to catch whatever it is, MSE could miss.  These two products are much better than McAfee and don't cause you problems that you had to deal with.  Here's what I use and I had no problem (and no infections that were not intercepted and completely removed by one or the other).  Either way, I used myself the Panda for several years before moving to the MSE and I have nothing bad to say about them - their product is very good - but why pay for something when there are free alternatives that are almost everything as good (maybe even better)?

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck.

P.S. Be grateful it is McAfee and Norton not - so you could be even greater problems.

  • How failover VIP SCAN and SCAN one node to another listener?

    Environment:

    OS: HP - UX B.11.31 U ia64

RDBMS: Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit Production

It is a 2 RAC node.

    Question:

    1. How tipping the VIP SCAN and SCAN LISTENER running on node 1 to node 2?
    2. What is the relationship between AUDITOR and AUDITOR SCAN standard?
    3. Why must we LISTENER, when we SCAN LISTENER?
    4. When I tried with LISTENER to STOP SRCVTL , I thought the LISTENER to SCAN and SCAN IP are switched, but there no?
    5. Also, please clarify if I'm using SRVCTL INDIA SCAN Node1-i 1-n
Actalluy I am that by moving the SCAN listeners so that when I do the correction of DIET 7 block on node 1, no incoming connection attempt to clear
a process and thus to open files in $ORACLE_HOME (which would prevent the patch does not happen)

    Please clarify my queries.

    Thanks, Sivaprasad.S

    Your questions:

    1. the failover occurs after a failure, you can't do it manually. Restart a node and you will see it happen.

2 SCAN redirect listeners to the listeners of node connection requests.

    3. they have different functions. SCAN of listeners redirection, listeners node spawn and leave sessions.

4 srvctl stop listener has no effect on a listener SCAN or SCAN VIP.

    5. the instructions with the game patches don't tell you to do.

  • Local listener and listener to Scan

In a 11.2.0.4 cluster can you set the local_listener and the scan_listener run on the same port 1521.

In a 11.2.0.4 cluster can you set the local_listener and the scan_listener run on the same port 1521.

Yes. You may think two headphones can not use the same TCP port in a server. But, remember, Local listener is running on the node RAC VIP and listener to SCAN runs on SCAN IPs that are different from the public IP/VIP to each node.

  • 11 GR 2 rac - help the listener to scan

    Hi guys,.

    I test using the following:

    1 VMware server 2.0.2

    2 11.2.0.1 oracle

    3 Linux 5

I use no DNS for my tests. I use the host for my SCAN configuration file. (for testing of use)

I'm just curious as to why it did not work as it is.

As I use the host file, the listener to scan can operate only in a single node, which is now in my rac2 node and can only have an IP from scan.

When I tried to connect my client using the underside of tns, it only connect/direct keep me in rac2.

Isn't she supposed to balance the connection sometimes rac1 as well?

I can confirm that it's going to rac2 as when I bring only rac2, is not able to connect to rac through the AMT.

Is it supposed to work this way?

  • Difference between srvctl relocate scan and scan_listener?

    Hi all

I have a 2-node RAC cluster using 11.2.0.2 grid Infrastructure.

I'm trying to get well clear in my mind what the difference is between moving SCANNING using srvctl relocate scan and SCAN_LISTENER use srvctl move scan_listener

Can anyone provide me explain when you would use each order and the effect there?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

See here for a closer explanation of the SCAN:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/clustering/overview/scan-129069.PDF

Regarding your questions: the difference between a SCAN VIP and VIP normal CARS, is that a node has the VIP CARS he wants to run on and each has one node (so that you have only 3 SCANs). If it fails over to another node, the normal VIP exists, but does not accept connections, while the SCAN is not set on a node and can run on any node in the cluster (and will accept connections at any time).

Now it works, VIP SCAN to the SCAN listener (otherwise it would not make sense). This is why there is really no difference in moving the SCAN VIP (because this will trigger a move of the listener), or to pass the SCAN_Listener (since this will move the VIP depends).

    Concerning
    Sebastian

  • Listener to SCAN problem

We have two nodes in a cluster of rac oracle 11.2.0.1 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server version 5.6 (Tikanga) with a scan name that resolves to three IP addresses in the dns. 3 ips in the scan address only two seem to be online. We use for clients both survey periods online instead of the FQND address scanning to avoid time-out problems.

We notice that the listeners of 3 scan are distributed on the nodes but the only node that maintains a single listener to scan is the ip address that appear unavailable to us. For example: node A has a scan headphone and earphone of node B two scan, the scan ip associated with node A appear unavailable (we cannot ping). If we restart the scan ip distribution cluster change knots with two scan earpiece and B with only a single ip address then the ip scan in node B is not available.

Any help will be appreciated. Below some outputs follow the document 975457.1.

    Hello

Bug 9109880: SCAN ADDRESS NOT to pings AFTER SWITCH - might suddenly look on My Oracle Support, it seems to fit to your situation in some respects.

The problem is solved in 11.2.0.2, your original post says you use 11.2.0.1 - there is also a difficulty in the 11.2.0.1.2 power supply, with a value of experimentation.

    Thank you

  • : OfficeJet 5700 large Format HP Scan and Capture has stopped working

All of a sudden my HP Scan and Capture does not work.  I click the icon, it goes full screen, then disappears.  What is happening and how to fix it?

    Hey there ejsj.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm looking for some more information to better understand exactly the problem.

When you have completed each step in the troubleshooting guide, I proposed:

    • Were there problems uninstall and reinstall the printer driver and software? If there are errors or problems, please describe them.
    • Disable your firewall there a difference at all?
    • You can scan using paint with out without the firewall running?
    • Did the job analysis around the work? What were the results when you tried them?
    • You can make copies of copies and color black and white?
    • You have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet, avoiding the power and surge bars?
    • How the printer is connected to your computer (WiFi, Ethernet, USB)?
    • Have you tried another connection?

Hope to hear from you with results!

  • Photosmart 3210 all in one: Scan and reinstall the program failures

Printer isn't online and firewall is on and no network.  Printer and scanner going good since 2006 until I tried to scan a negative, I think for the first time in its history.  Scan bar will quickly about 2 inches and lamp turns off and printer says to stop, but this isn't.   Had to unplug, but printer would reset with all functions (except movie option).  Uninstalled and reinstall failed with the error situation code 03215762.  Print function works with other programs and copy function works, just can't sweep, and there is no solution Center, could not reinstall.  Resettlement goes to 2% with the status - stop services - bogs and Print Spooler Service and will remain bogged down for hours until the end with the Task Manager.

During the forced relocation ends and said deleting files, another error situation code 06458626 comes up with a few lines comes from installation error logs.  Help would be wonderful.

Due to personal obligations, could not work on reinstalling printer until this week.  Put a link to MS and I've tried suggestions there - .NET updates, enter the registry and delete some files and a work-around suggested without success.  Next I googled "Can not stop spooler on MS XP SP3" and as choice went to forums.techguy.org/windows-xp/897775-can't-stop-spooler.html, Harry 32, January 28, 2010.  This guy had a sounding similar problem and his solution worked.  MS Fax in windows, computer components unchecked rebooted, went to spooler MS services, stop selected, and he stopped.  YES!  Then I ran the new drivers you sent and installed the program without glitches.  YES, once again! (actually when install stopped and said spooler was arrested and I wanted it to be fixed and started then the installation can continue; naturally, I selected Yes.)  I scanned a photo, printed and made a copy successfully.  However, I tried again to scan a negative from the solution Center and the button on the Panel of the printer without success.    I'll close this as 'select solution' and start a new discussion of assistance on the issue of negative scan.  Very gratedful for all your help.  I'd never know what Google if you had not discovered in troubleshooting spooler problem.

  • scanning and capture

I have a photosmart d110a. Scan 30 nov and capture worked fine on my windows 8.1. 10 days later, he will not open more. have re downloaded software and drivers, have checked for update KB2919355 and it's there. Whenever I go to scan and capture it just closes and goes back to the start page. I'm very frustrated by that.  Why won't it work?

    Hi NONERD1,

Thank you for answering my questions, I appreciate it!

    Please, try the following:

    1. Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the printer software.
    2. Clean boot the computer. How to perform a boot in Windows.
    3. Disable all antivirus programs. How to disable the Antivirus in Windows 8?
    4. Disable all firewall programs. The WF of end-to-end.
    5. Create a new user account. Management of accounts of users and connections (Windows 8).
    6. Re-install the software using the printer HP install wizard for Windows.

We'll see what happens after that and please keep me posted!

  • HP Officejet 6600: HP Officejet 6600 stops during a scan, shows partial scan and expires

    Hello

My Officejet works fine, but now I can't scan.

HP provided scanning software (downloaded), I can start a scan and see the preview begins to be filled, but he stops just to scan after about 1/4 of an A4 page.

My laptop fan starts to increase, and then after 30 seconds or a minute, the officejet abandoned on the scan and returned the material bar scanning in its final position.

It doesn't matter if I use the flat or the document feeder scanner.

Its as if the scanning starts very well and scan data arrived to my laptop, but then perhaps a connection problem occurs, and the analysis may not be possible to transfer data more.

I uninstalled after software hp (all HP programs) and reinstall, but no difference. I can find and configure my officejet without problem.

Scanning using a USB connection works without any problem.

I recently moved the printer around my home network, and he has received various static ID. But I certainly gave him the ip address during the installation of the printer. But maybe there is a config file that is in trouble again?

I stopped my Anitvirus (Ariva) and turned off my windows firewall. It has not made a difference.

Previously I was optimizing my LAN MTU size, but I've returned all devices (that I can update) at 1500 MTU size.

Works of fine officejet by using Linux. I can scan over wifi using 14.04 Ubuntu (which uses a size MTU 1452, so I don't think it's associated MTU). Its only if you are using Windows I have a problem.

Could the previous ip addresses always somehow to use? An uninstall removes really all the config info? What I have to do manual labor of registry also?

When the scan times out, the scanner software previews empty, and there is nothing to save. I can only "return" or use the Finish"" button.

I also ran the hp scan doctor. All tests were green except the Scan for Windows (WIA). If I remember correctly, it says that the user has canceled the analysis during this test, but I have big anything. It seemed just to take a lot of time to do this part tests (> 30 years), and then I guess it expired.

    Thank you.

I solved the problem. It turns out it was my antivirus, Avira program. I had to add an exception so that the web protection is turned off for the IP address of the printer.

If you are using Avira, watch https://answers.avira.com/en/question/how-do-i-modify-avira-internet-securitys-web-protection-so-that-i-can-scan--27842

Default installation of Oracle's RDBMS comes with an earpiece. As it does with a number of other components of s/w. If these components are actually used, depends entirely on the environment and requirements.

For CARS, there is no requirement for an earpiece connecting the + $ORACLE_HOME + - as the grid stack s/w Infrastructure takes care of this.

The same + $ORACLE_HOME + can also run a database not CARS with its own receptor dedicated - if the requirements States that.

  • Advice needed on scanning and organization of large amounts of family photos

I have about 4000 photos, I need to digitize and organize, and would appreciate information on the experiences of people with similar projects - specifically what scanners and software editing/organization work well (or not) and why. I am interested in scanning experience, naming, entering in the metadata tags / and storage on an external drive (or drive possible cloud) as effective as possible. I have a MacBook Pro towards 2012, running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB 1600 Mhz DDr2 memory

I waited for someone to answer, but no luck so far.

I think that, maybe, the question is too broad, but you hit on a lot of issues that I tried to respond in support of my own digitization projects. These are essentially old photos and family concert tickets, I've gathered that I want to geocode instead and add an event date to sort the pictures correctly in my reader, I now use pictures all to also store the main images in the form of files in folders.

One of the first things that you need to consider what is my final use, how will be I be display these carelessly or what their final destination, that is to say: the screen or print. Next, you will need to examine and decide what are your basic quality standards.  Is it an archiving project where you might want to get the maximum resolution to capture your images or you are looking for very high resolution - pixel specific pick - and go deep with it.  What types of files you save; jpg or RAW or another.

Don't forget the file type is like a box and the picture is in the box, you can have the same image quality in each type of file and each has positive points and negatives, jpgs are the most common, can display high-quality, but at the root with loss.

It is to you and how you want to store, manage and share.  You could take a sweeping super high ground - better as your scanner may take - and a large jpg copy for sharing, etc.

Depending on how you answer the above, in terms of desired scan quality, will affect what kind of scanner that you buy. I used several descent average range flat scanners, a versatile case and a wand at a crossing through of dock that I just got.

I decided quite a while that I'm not in the business of archive I'm in enjoy it there and share business. IF they look good in an email or on Facebook or on my big screen as screensaver, even for the large TV. Then, I have what I need. It is for me. Others feel differently. For me in the end, it's the time it took to take a sweeping super high quality in order to get an image, which overwhelms my screen and has a huge file size. You have to play and see what works for you.

I just got this scanner wand 1200 dpi with a dock charger and it quickly arranged a pile of concert tickets at its highest quality of scanning. I was happy with the initial results and I can't wait to make some pictures.

There are a lot of details, you can enter each of these topics, but here you say basically software that controls the scanner. On a flat bed I hope you can scan several small images at once by selecting them in the program. You select the output resolution, file type, and can perform a variety of other adjustments to the image, which some will be dictated by the source.  As the digitization of old photos 'black and white' in color.

You will need to consider certain issues of workflow here, the scanner software will generally look to create file names to sequential access to what you are scanning. If it's a large image at a time, you can name each or there may wish to work through a lot of dimensions and similar features and then mess with the baptism and the meta data later.  You will find what works best for you as enter you.

You have now all these files. For me, it was ticket_1 - 90.jpg who had to have their date, time and locations adjusted. I've been messing around with photos of geocoding for years and so far my favorite geogocder and meta-data tool is called photolinker http://www.earlyinnovations.com/photolinker/ that I started using it because I was using a geo - stay with my regular camera and I wanted to match the Geo-trail of the recorder for pictures and this tool does that very well , with tools for helpsync the time of the image and geolog times. or you can give it an address or a city or a block and he will score as many images you select. It will give them a geocode latitude and longitude (altitude in some cases) as well as the metadata for the region city of the State, etc.

It also gives you quick access to metadata, including tiles, descriptions, keywords, etc. and I do as well of this titration and marking here as I can. as well as the geocoding.  Dates are a very special case that I will come back soon.

So analysis stuff you give a whole bunch of files and you need to decide how you want to sort and store them. My family photos I usually sort in events and it is pretty easy because the images were of particular type of event and then something holidays. So I in my folder of photos folders called things like:

    1909 - Granma baby pictures

    1931_12_25-moms first Christmas.

    1952_07_21-dad comes from the service.

etc with this kind of naming structure. months of the year and day, if I know that it and the event.

The photos then if there are few have specific names for files. If it is more like '1986_07-Florida_ #1-72' and let the meter. If I can be precise date in each event, I try to do, since we are talking about scans and no pictures of digital cameras, if the clock is set right and phones that capture this info.

The deal with dates, as I mentioned earlier, can be a mess and I have found no real primer on how best to define and manage the dates on scanned images, but here is a part from what I understand. First of all remember that the dates of creation and modification in your finder associated with the file that contains the image, but not necessarily the image itself. Each image also has various sets of metadata that is stored with the images, called EXIFdata, this is where you find the geocoded and other data type keyword, you may be added, such as discussed above.

As I said I have use pictures formerly iPhoto to see my images now and it does not always play nice with dates, but I think I understood now that it uses a date edit EXIF, to place images in the long scenario.
