race 2 blue dot on all new text boxes

Hi, I worked in indesign on windows to create catalogs. I used the same file for two catalogs as my model works for both, but in both these files whenever I create a new text box, it is automatically given a point 2 blue around the text box. I would really like to know why this is happening and how to stop. Thank you.

The blue line can be one of two things. I have not added all layers or change the default settings of the program, the bounding box for executives will be light when it is blue in layout mode. Not the line disappears when you hide the contours of the block (Ctrl/Cmd + H) or switch to preview mode? One edge of the image remains the same size, too, when you zoom in.

Since you said 2 points, it is more likely a real race that is applied by default. You can kill that unchecking everything and checking that no stroke color not specified, or the weight of the race is set to 0. It is also possible that the object for new text frames style has defined race (open the object Styles Panel and find the style with the little icon with the T inside - by default it is the standard text block, but it might have been changed in the model). If this is the case, you can redefine the style of the object without the race - probably not the best idea because it will remove the line of existing objects that have this style applied - or you can change to a style of different object for the default text block (drag the icon).

    Check the options of text block. Looks like the first baselin is leading instead of ascension (nothing bad at all), or there may be an applied custom baseline grid (or even a ducment baseline grid) and the first baselin is lower than expected and calls for the alignment on the grid style.

  • Problem with the new text box - large size

    Hello

    I have a problem with InDesing and just can't understand why it's happening.

    When creating the text box (frame), I am selecting the text tool and want to drag a new text box, InDesing creates a new frame with size 1221, 058 x 1221, 058 mm (always, no matter what...). When I'm typing in it, the text is invisible, in the same way that it is out of reach of the size of the image (at the bottom right I see the Red Cross). It happenes even after hitting only one character and I can't make it visible (adjust to the right).

    Someone has any suggestions how to solve this problem?

    I will be grateful.

  • Text appears in the new text box even if they say do not.

    So that's my problem. I'm trying make a text based game to learn a little more about coding, but even after looking around, I can't find a way to solve this problem.

    The point of the code is to have a type writer effect, I have a button to jump at the end of the timer and show all text at once, but because it doesn't seem to be part of the issue I failed it by below.

    What happens with the code below, it's that when the button is pressed a blank text box appears instead to display the new sting of the text. If the button is pressed before the end of the text by typing the text that appears in the following image will be the text which had no time to post.

    I tested with the 2nd fair framework be T1.text = "NewTexthere" and it worked properly but when the type writer effect is applied, is no longer works.

    -Part 1-

    Stop()

    T1. Text = «»

    var i = 0;

    var myString:String = "text".

    var mytimer:Timer = new Timer(10,myString.length);

    mytimer.addEventListener (TimerEvent.TIMER, timerHandler);

    myTimer.Start ();

    function timerHandler(event:TimerEvent):void {}

    T1. AppendText (myString.charAt (i));

    i ++ ;

    }

    Button1.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame);

    function fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame(event:MouseEvent):void

    {

    nextFrame();

    MyEventArgs;

    }

    -Part 2-

    T1. Text = «»

    var i2 = 0;

    var myString2:String = "NewTextHere".

    var mytimer2:Timer = new Timer(10,myString.length);

    mytimer2.addEventListener (TimerEvent.TIMER, timerHandler);

    mytimer2. Start();

    function timerHandler2(event:TimerEvent):void {}

    T1. AppendText (myString.charAt (i2));

    i ++ ;

    }

    ---------

    Why do you use the appearance of string 1 frame when you define a new string under 2?  Why I increment when you use i2?  Between the two of you might find the problem.

    var i2 = 0;

    var myString2:String = "NewTextHere";

    function timerHandler2(event:TimerEvent):void {}

    T1. AppendText (myString.charAt (i2));

    i ++ ;

    }

  • Help to change all the text boxes in a book

    I'm new in Indesign CS4.  I want to format book for two sizes of printed book.  When I change the predefined attributes of Document it does not apply to the size of the text boxes.  How can we re - format all the dimensions of the text box at the same time?  The book is 600 pages - too many to go through and resize each page separately.  Thank you!!!

    If text blocks were originally from the master page and you have done nothing more text to throw in, you can change the frameworks of masters and the images on the pages will change also, but if you have changed the framework anyway after flowing text, everything you have changed now irreversible of the master.

    A second option is if the blocks of text are in contact with margin guides all around, go to the Layout > setting layout... and turn it on until you change the setting statement. Managers will adjust to the new margins.

  • I need a script to count all the text boxes on a form

    I created our organizational structure in Livecycle Designer.  (It doesn't "do" anything, it is just a flat document without subforms, checkboxes, etc.).

    Name of the employee is in a text box.  The text boxes are all named in the same way, starting with the word 'Employee' followed by the name of the employee.  For example, "EmployeeJohnDoe" "EmployeeJaneSmith" etc.

    I need to keep a number of our existing employees and so I need a script that is taken into account in all areas of text named "EmployeeXX".  The answer may go into a text field.

    Thanks in advance!

    Yes,

    The missing point was my bad.

    What do you mean text boxes? If you are referring to text (as opposed to the TextField objects) objects, then you would test against a class name 'draw' and a name "employee".

  • Blue teal weird around the text box

    It happened when I pasted the text from one of my InDesign files to another file InDesign from a colleague. It does not appear when I export a PDF file but it's annoying when designing.  Anyone have any ideas on what this is?  The Red plan is the text for the bottom text box.

    Custom tracking / kerning, I think. You can disable the high point in the section of the Composition of the prefs.

  • New text is always black instead of my currently selected fill color.

    Does anyone know a way to change this? So that I could choose, say, a shade of red for my fill, then click to create a new text box and have what I type be red? Now it always sets the fill color to C0M0Y0K100 now, I create a new text object. Which can be a total pain in the * if I happen to work on a black background.

    I have 'new art has basic appearance' off in the appearance palette, this isn't that.

    Some googling gives to think that I can change what the text insists on being of faffing round in panels of paragraph or character style, color, but is really not much better - I want to make it behave like the rest of the program, where my background and outline colors remain unchanged until I have change myself.

    Anyone got all solutions to this beyond "go report bug and maybe it will be fixed in five years?" I'm tired of my new items text by alt - drag an existing one in the color I want.

    What the hell no mod Forum Adobe the right answer isn't 'do my text, then set its color. The correct answer is "you can't do this because someone at Adobe thinks it is a good idea for the text tool do not walk as the rest of the program, go apply for a feature or a bug report. What I've done.

    My problem isn't that I don't know how to change the color of my text. I can do that very well. I did it several times I could even begin to estimate - almost every time that I went to bed a text object. My problem is that I have a colour that works perfectly with my image, then I click with the text tool and all of a sudden, I type in black. And when I cut and paste a few words of the text object to another, Illustrator also "useful" makes black. Even if neither the text I cut myself, or sticky, is black.

    It's especially infuriating when I get to work on a dark background and tape suddenly blind.

    As for "it could cause more problems than it solved," well, the object-> unlock all followed by select-> object-> all objects of the type, and then select black? And besides, we got fined for every year back before starting the engine of revamped type doing so a few years ago. Hell, just add the ability to assign "inherit the current settings" to the accident vascular cerebral/filling of a style in the character/paragraph publishers style both would make us happy - I could type some wacky aspect I wanted, and you have your default solemn C0M0Y0K100.

  • PE 9-cannot change text-keep existing add new text layer

    Hello

    I'm trying to re - edit text in a .psd file.  I tried:

    • Select the layer on the text
    • Select the text tool

    According to all forum messages/help videos I watched, I thought I was supposed to be able to change the text this elsewhere, but all that happens is that it allows me to add a new text layer.  I'm sorry if the answer to that has already been posted, but I could not find.  I appreciate all help.

    Lori

    I think that I finally thought to it! The layer has been simplified, because there is no "T" in the text icon in the layers panel.  I don't remember to simplify, but somehow I must have.  I tried to create a new text box, and of course, even after it hit the green check mark to accept all of the settings I've chosen initially, I could go back and change it.  A disappointment, because now I need to go back and understand exactly how I had it before, but at least the mystery is solved.  Thanks for the suggestions.

  • How to select all the text in the document?

    I need to select all the text in a long export to RTF document. I only seem to be able to select a story. Any ideas of how I can do?

    Thank you

    Ian

    Cannot be done. You will need to attach all the text boxes in a long history, or to use the 'ExportAllStories.jsx' script that comes with your installation default InDesign.

    There are other alternatives (each using scripts), and the best way may depend on what are your intentions with the exported file - for example, if you want to read back into their original text after the mounting frames, well, there are ways to do it.

  • Make changes to all text boxes

    I have a document of 30 pages, and each page has two text boxes with

    different text inside each box.

    If I change the size of the text boxes on the first page, can I do so all the text boxes on each page change the same way without slipping manually do everything to match?

    99% of the time that I do NOT recommend the use of main text blocks. Most of the time good setting the margins and columns makes it unnecessary and more an obstacle than a help. Something like that, well, Yes, it's another story.

  • Text box - I hit back and it comes out rather that begins a new line or point

    Okay, so I'm a very basic user of indesign and we're always on CS2, but can someone please help with this.   I'm starting a new text box and type - packaging works, but if I want to start a new line or make a bullet list, pressing the left back key text box, instead of starting a new line.  I can't find anywhere to change the formatting.  Tried to reset to the standard paragraph format.

  • Text box cannot be moved or resized 0.0

    Working on a book inside, I lost the text boxes on one of the spreads. In other words, they are not lost as many real estate and unresizable.

    I can see their content in the editor mode, and they can be selected in the layers palette.

    My pages are 7 x 10 and somehow, two areas of text (depending on the palette at the top of the screen) have been transferred to x: 7, y: 5 (both in the Center, on the inside edge of the page). The text box size is l: 0, h: 0.

    When on is selected, the only visible thing is its blue arrow indicating the flow of text.

    If I try to move it with the arrow keys, I get a message saying: "value would cause one or more objects to leave the editing table."

    Clicking on an arrow to change its size, nothing, by entering a number is ignored and the values remain at 0,0.

    Another thing strange, probably associated with: creation of a new text box on the table of another independent text page editing and the removal of this box to the troublesome spread, causes this new text box to disappear, too. The coordinates of all say: NaN in

    I'm puzzled. Any ideas or suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Copy the text in the story editor, if it is not threaded to other images and delete propagation. Re-create the spread with news pages and old eth text you copied or reedit the text blocks.

  • InDesign text box

    I'm having a problem with all the new text boxes I create...

    I don't know why, but they all are already starting with a text wrapping now... I used these wrap to make the texts run along the sides of the picture, but look like the INDesign "memorized" this option...

    All the new text boxes, I create has begun with the options that I have marked in BLUE, but he had to start in the RED option... The box shows the film all my boxes begins.

    Is there a way to program forget this memorized wrap option?

    Looks like you set dressing with nothing selected. This is the default for all new objects. Unset as default in the same way, but you'll have to fix your existing frames manually.
