Blue teal weird around the text box

It happened when I pasted the text from one of my InDesign files to another file InDesign from a colleague. It does not appear when I export a PDF file but it's annoying when designing.  Anyone have any ideas on what this is?  The Red plan is the text for the bottom text box.

Custom tracking / kerning, I think. You can disable the high point in the section of the Composition of the prefs.

  • What is the range of colors "BOLD" around a text box?

    Hi all

Sorry for the question simple but what it means when you get a thick line around an area of text like that?

    Hello

The line "BOLD" of color around the text box appears as a "shot". Take a look at the screenshots below:

    I hope this helps.

  • race 2 blue dot on all new text boxes

Hi, I worked in indesign on windows to create catalogs. I used the same file for two catalogs as my model works for both, but in both these files whenever I create a new text box, it is automatically given a point 2 blue around the text box. I would really like to know why this is happening and how to stop. Thank you.

The blue line can be one of two things. I have not added all layers or change the default settings of the program, the bounding box for executives will be light when it is blue in layout mode. Not the line disappears when you hide the contours of the block (Ctrl/Cmd + H) or switch to preview mode? One edge of the image remains the same size, too, when you zoom in.

Since you said 2 points, it is more likely a real race that is applied by default. You can kill that unchecking everything and checking that no stroke color not specified, or the weight of the race is set to 0. It is also possible that the object for new text frames style has defined race (open the object Styles Panel and find the style with the little icon with the T inside - by default it is the standard text block, but it might have been changed in the model). If this is the case, you can redefine the style of the object without the race - probably not the best idea because it will remove the line of existing objects that have this style applied - or you can change to a style of different object for the default text block (drag the icon).

  • Creation of a framework around a text box?

I'm new to Illustrator (I am under CS4 on Mac) and I created what is essentially an organizational chart. (It's actually something more of a decision tree, but it's not important).

I searched other forums and found out the Options of Type box. I use to create 6 pixels of spacing to insert between my text and outside the text box. Now, I would like to have a 1 or 2 point route framework automatically around the text box. One place was told to go to object > text block. However, when I select the text box and go to the object is not the block of text (either available or grayed out) option.

It does not seem that I would have manually through the work of drawing a rectangle around each block of text.

Can someone point me in the right direction to have Illustrator to do the blue box (electronics) in a real visible?

    Thank you in advance,

    Sharp Blues

    Select the text object.

Use the appearance Palette to add a new fill or add a new line.

Select the additional fill or stroke in the appearance of the list.

Drag it to below the list content. Leave it on.

Effect > ConvertToShape. Make the settings you want in the dialog box.

  • What is this icon on my text box? It is the breaking copy in the text box.

Can someone tell me what this little icon on the left side of the text box in the screenshot below? I tried to google it with no luck and I don't know what to do to turn it off then my text doesn't go haywire. I copied the text area of a document. INDD where the text has worked, then pasted into a document. Pre-existing INDD and when I go to move the text around the text box begins to align left, right and Center on its own.
    Screen Shot 2015-06-03 at 1.21.45 PM.png

Looks like you pasted the frame on a master page. This icon appears on text blocks that reside on a Master.

Not sure if the erratic behavior of alignment is however; Maybe something else on the page has wrapping applied... (?)

  • Can't reposition the text boxes or picture!

Hi, I'm having a problem moving around the text box and photo. Before everyone starts screaming 'check your bounding box', that's the first thing I checked, I also checked my edges and they are both correct. I can see the bounding box and I can resize the image, I can't just move it by dragging. Thank you

    Danielle,

Not a suggestion, but troubleshooting: you can move with the arrow keys?

It may turn out to be a sort of corruption, where you can try the list.

The following is a general list of things you can try when the question is not in a specific file and when it is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media, see below. You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    Even worse, you can:

    (6) (check the box to delete the preferences), run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) to uninstall and reinstall.

  • Is it possible to create menus without boxes around the text?

I'm relatively new to Muse, but I'm hooked on this issue.  I would like to insert a text menu without boxes around the text.

    What I tried:

Moved in a horizontal menu of the Widget Library to my head for my main menu.  I have spent over an hour trying to find a way to make the surrounding areas go, but I can't.  I realize that I can insert text and text a link to some pages, but I don't want to have to do that if possible.

    Thank you!

    Hello

You can use no padding for menu items and set the same for all States:

Also if there is value stroke, you can decrease up to 0 which would remove all border weight.

Let me know if I'm missing something here.

    Thank you

  • Have a graphic with text running around it, when I put the text box on chart type will not appear - tried text running around him also - but still nothing

With the text box selected, choose: object > text frame Options...

Check the checkbox ignore text dressed near the bottom of the text frame Options dialog box, and then click OK.

  • Why the text box is so weird?

I'm trying to do something simple I have done a million times in Photoshop CS5 - create a text box with text inside. But something goes wrong and I can't quite understand it...

Note that the text box is now much larger than the display text. I would like to make this text box as wide as guide aligned on the box 'Donate '.

Any idea what's going on here?

Maybe you have a withdrawal of right margin of the paragraph, as in this screenshot.

What problems are you having with the arrow? You go to Tools-> annotate-> arrow and an arrow appears. Then you can drag around the head and tail to make it to the desired location.

  • Table of contents - power of the text box

    Hello

I recently started using Adobe InDesign and love it! I have a question around the table of contents. At the beginning of each chapter, we have a simple page with a box in it. (each chapter has about 10 pages). The intention is to have the content of the text become the title of the chapter box and have it displayed in the Table of content. The text box itself has several characters of new line in. When I generate the table of contents, InDesign creates several entries in the Table of contents (one per each new line in the text box). So my question is... Is there a way to specify that the content of the entire text box appears as an entry in the Table of contents. (I'd like to update the table of contents by hand to avoid any errors).

I appreciate any help in this matter.

    Thank you!!

So, you say that, break forced line and you want that all the rows in the table of contents? I think that I misunderstood.

If this is the case you're going to the trouble of formatting of the table of contents, as the forced line break will carry you through to the table of contents (you can change the colours using styles or nested GREP and those will not set if you use a different style in the table of contents list itself).

  • How to put a border around the text?

Someone would be able to show me how to put a border of text around the text?

    Hello

I think that if you want to put a border on the box containing that go to 'outline' so you can color and size choices
but in the text, it is impossible.
