You can also go to Crucial.com and run their program of Finder memory, but it will probably tell you the same thing.

    Hello

From everything I read it seems that you have a max of 16 GB for your specific unit and if I'm not mistaken, you should have an open memory slot to expand. Here is a link to a third HP recommends for buying memory, I pulled up information for your exact unit:

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca: upgrade memory RAM - HP ENVY 15 Notebook

    Hi all!

Last weekend, I upgraded the RAM in my laptop HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca.

The machine has 1 module of 8 GB by factory, so I bought another module of 8 GB (same brand and same rate).

But the problem is that the machine does not recognize this second module, neither in the BIOS nor so

    I am running Windows company 10 x 64.

The weird part is that I downloaded the CPU-Z, and this software recognizes the two modules.

    Any idea?

Here is the image of the CPU - Z software (where memories are recognized)

See tensions? You've mixed low-voltage and voltage regular memory. They can be the same machine and the speed, but they are not the same tension. This will cause problems as you see. The computer is designed to work the DDR3L memory (1.35 volts). When you correspond to the modules, you really need to match modules. Can you confirm part numbers printed on both modules and the specifications on the labels?

  • RAM HP envy 15t

Hi, I'm looking forward to buy hp envy 15 touchsmart with 8 GB of RAM on board. I want to order ram (2x8gb) replacement right now too, so they arrive simultaneously. Could you help me with what kind of RAM it is? I only saw the appearance of the RAM card, but don't know what it's called. My guess would be SO - DIMM DDR3 204pin with, but I'm not sure. Also, I'm pretty weak in the area of any material. I discovered that side PIN number and type DDR, there are different amounts of available Mhz. This means more Mhz you have the better performance and will be the laptop accept RAM with higher Mhz?

    Thank you!

It is exactly the kind of memory that I linked above. DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM. For the configurations buy you will need to go to the site. It is impossible to catch up and varies from one country to another.

  • Upgrading RAM on Envy 6-1010ea Ultrabook

    Hi all

I want to upgrade the ram on my ultrabook to the maximum amount. It asserts that it is 8 gb. What memory voltage would be just for that I don't want to fry my new machine. In addition, the crucial site says he can be upgraded to 16 gb with 2 sticks of 8 GB. If you think it's possible?

Thanks in advance for any advice on this query.

    Philippe

You don't have to buy them direct from Crucial. Just use the Advisor memory to ensure that they are part number exact that the crucial States are guaranteed compatible with your laptop. You can purchase the modules from a vendor who has them at a better price. The warranty on the modules will be valid.

  • Envy 15-K208NL: sales assistant in store claims to have 32 GB of RAM on Envy 15-K208NL: true?

    Hi all
I'm a programmer and I need a laptop that supports 16 GB of RAM for a CMS very hungry memory that I use.
Today I went in a PC shop and I saw the 15-K208NL. He's got i7, 8 GB of RAM and it is not too expensive. I asked the saleswoman in store if the laptop support for 16 GB of RAM. HP computers are expandable to 32 GB of RAM with 4 locations of memory, he said.
I was happy to hear that; However, when I went to the HP page on this very laptop to double check (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04738934), I read that there is only 1 x 8 GB RAM memory and there is no mention of a slot free or memory maximum. So I'm undecided to buy it or not.
Anyone can help this memory - hungry computer owner?
    Thank you!
    Riccardo

    Hi, Riccardo:

Here is the link to the service manual for this model.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04582332

Chapter 1 gives the news of upgrade memory (max is 2 x 8 GB).

The memory of the removal and replacement procedures are provided in Chapter 6.

It is very difficult to access any of the components upgraded on this machine.

If you need a laptop with 32 GB of memory, I suggest you watch in a business class mobile workstation that would probably support for 32 GB of memory and a decent graphics card.

  • Made a decision: would you please help a PAO

Hi, I am wanting to buy a new laptop and 71 who, at my age, maybe the last, I'll buy. I wish that the specification to be as good as I can get with a limit price of £1200. I think I narrowed down it to two models (Envy 15-as004na) and spectrum 15 ap007na. Both are models of 4 K. Both are approximately the same size and weight. Aside from the obvious difference of the spectrum being a 2 1With tablet mode, I see the main differences as follows

Envy has PCIe SSD and spectrum M.2 SSD M.2

Envy has 12 GB of ram DDR4 and spectrum has 16 GB of DD3 ram

Envy has 52 WH battery and spectrum has 65WH battery

    Envy has two B & O speakers and spectrum quad B & O speakers

    My questions are

    1. how much faster the urge will be start-up with SSD PCIe?

    2. What is the difference between DDR3 and DDR4?

3 can I assume that the larger battery will give better battery life (I'm not sure that I can go to claimed the life of the battery).

    4. as will be most of my listening with headphones Bose is there a difference between the models of speakers of 2 and 4 sound quality.

I work a lot using Microsoft Office (spreadsheets and databases), but will use the machine more for watching movies (Netflix, which gives movies 4 K and Youtube and also Sky Sports average sky GB)

It does not seem possible for me to go into a store to try computers because they do not stock these computers appear for demonstration purposes.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

You want the tablet feature? I mean, if he wasn't so its replacement by a portable form factor standard for a form factor 2 in 1.

The processors are the same and are very powerful. Same video chip. One is tactile and we're not. Both are IPS 4 k poster that will be wonderful, except in my touch experience tend to be a little muddy compared to not touch.  Both have 512 GB m2. Envy says expressly that's IS. Envy a DDR4, which is a bit faster and works on a lower voltage should thus extend the battery life. Both are 3 cell batteries, but the spectrum has more Watt-hour capacity, so you have to assume there's going to be the longest running.

I would say that envy will run and start more quickly. Not much. Even a M.2 SATA is very fast but the NVME (aka PCI-e) is like instant - on. I have the new spectrum "the thinnest in the world" which has a PCI-e m2 memory card and it is literally instant - we. My previous laptop was a Lenovo Carbon X-1 with a SATA m2 and it was close but not exactly instant - on.

For what you say you will do, I would say either of these laptops is exaggerated and frankly it boils down to how you want the ability to have a tablet form factor. Envy is a little more durable due to DDR4 memory and PCI - e disk.

  • Envy 15-j104el: updated NETWORK WiFi card and RAM update

    Goodmorning to everyone

I write this post to ask for information on the possibility to do an upgrade of hardware on my HP Envy 15-j104elsystem.

    That's what I would do:

-Replace the network card (NIC) to a wireless better and possibly with a compatible AC NIC.

-Update to 16 GB of ram, put benches with CL9 SODIMM

The questions that I want to bring to your attention are:

-There is a 'white list' for the wifi card on my BIOS (actually F66)?
(consultation with the service manual there are little NIC OEM selled, y at - it ONLY compatible?)

-Put the sticks of ram CL9 (instead of CL11 currently OEM mounted), I can inprove the overall performance?

    I want to install are:

    -Intel Wireless-AC 7260 more Bluethoot HMC 4.0

    -Kingston HyperX Impact DDR3L 16 GB (2x8gb) SODIMM 1600 Mhz CL9 (Kit)

According to your experiences, is it compatible? I can buy them without any problem?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Thanks for your suggestions

In particular, I take this opportunity to greet and also need the help of my friend @visruth ;)

    1. no whitelist. Your laptop was conducted after HP stopped using a white list so that you can install any card with the right form factor and the number of antennas. The Intel 7260 card should work.

    2. you can install the CL9 memory but it will not do anything all run faster. The motherboard is made to operate at the speed of the OEM memory so the Kingston Hyper-X will work, but the specifications of it in operation will be the same as memory OEM.
