  • Lack of 3d tools in Photoshop CS6 extended

Hi everyone, I thought I would ask for help here before that I'm going through the agony of technical assistance from Adobe. I just installed upgrading CS6 Design and Web Premium yesterday. Received my e-mail for the free update yesterday morning and everything went very well for download and install as far as I can tell.

Both the screen flash so that the Photoshop CS6 extended screen show, yet I have no 3D tool at all, either in the menu or the toolbar. This is the case as well with my laptop and desktop.

I have the latest drivers for my video card and 'use the graphics processor' is checked in the preferences.  Will I be stupid and lack of something (quite possible), or not someone had a similar problem or suggestions.

    the desktop system specifications:

    Windows XPpro 32 bit SP3

graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5450

    4 GB of RAM

425 GB of free disk to work

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

CS6 with 3 D does not work with XP OS.

Will need to migrate to Windows 7 and 64 bit with 8 GB of ram for all benefits.

  • Satellite A100-847: is artificially capped in BIOS RAM frequency?

Well, this question has been asked before, but in a somewhat different way. The thing is that the CPU runs at 667 MHz and Intel 945 PM Express supports aliases PC5300 memory at 667 MHz. notebook was shipped with 512 MB of memory 533 MHz, so now I have two options:

    1. buy an another 512 MB of PC4200 RAM
    2. do not use it and buy two sticks PC5300

I think there should be some benefits of running of the synchronous RAM with CPU, all the new RAM does not work at a slower frequency (or even does not work).

    See you soon.

    Hello

667 MHz memory modules are a little faster than the 533 MHz modules, but the difference is small, and you will not see the benefits of great performances.

If you want to use the 667 MHz speed, you need to use both modules with 667 MHz because
If one of the modules will support 533 Mhz the other module (667 mhz) will also work with 533 Mhz max

    Hello

Please use the search function because this topic has already been discussed.

What CPU do you have? If your processor supports a FSB up to 667 Mhz and the RAM should be able to do the same. So if you install RAM with a 667 Mhz front bus and you have a processor that can handle this then you will get some benefits of upgrading memory 667 MHz.

I recommend you to download * "CPU - Z" * and check your FSB. Then install the new memory and check again. If the FSB RAM then triggers your CPU supports the new FSB.

A good choice for the RAM would be Kingston... ;)

    Welcome them

  • NB550D - upgrade RAM

(I'm really sorry to bother again by opening another thread right after the other, but if it's better to separate this issue from my previous ones for other users who might have the same doubts.)

So I get my new NB550D-108PT next week, and in all the comments I've read says the machine has benefited with an upgrade of RAM at least 2 GB of RAM. Now, the only model sold here at the Portugal is the AMD C-30, so I am limited to a 2 GB RAM upgrade.

The Eastern question: y at - it a specific type of RAM I should buy or is it enough to be a single SO-DIMM 2 GB, DDR2 or DDR3 module?

Is [this | http://www.fnac.pt/Kingston-Memoria-SO-DIMM-2GB-DDR3-1333MHz-Memoria-Memoria-Portatil/a295844?PID=10&Mn=-1&Ra=-5000&To=0&Nu=3&Fr=0] an appropriate? And if so, DDR3 is worth the extra price or the diference between DDR3 or DDR2 speed especially insignificant?

    Greetings,
    Catarina S.

Try to match the RAM which comes with the laptop. DDR2 has a different connector and is not compatible with the portable DDR3.

DDR3 1333 2 GB should be fine to use. Try to avoid the cheaper value RAM because they usually have compatibility problems.

  • Speed: 16 GB RAM or SSD + ext HDD?

Just look for opinions and thoughts.

I have an early 2011 MBP, OS 10.9.5, with 8 GB of RAM and a 2 TB HARD drive.  He runs a browser, World of Warcraft and... file server.  App switching and loading game is slower than I'd like.  New finder windows sometimes take 5-10 seconds to display the contents of a directory.

I am trying to decide how to speed it up.  I think that access to the constant random file from the backend server (3-6 Mbps permanently) interferes with the browser, finder, then access to the disc of WoW because of most of the delays.   There is little to no virtual memory swap file activity, but the game needs to load data from the disk, and even the browser seems to use for normal operations.

    Easy option:

16 GB of RAM for about $70.  I see the Mavericks uses of spare RAM for a Cache of files, but has only 512 MB - 2 GB available.  Maybe if 16 GB of RAM gave me 8 GB of Cache files, eliminating the need for maybe 2 three (game server, browser) applications to continue using the hard drive?

If so, El Capitan using additional memory more efficiently?

    COST: $70 for RAM

    Hard option:

Make the main drive a 480-512GB SSD...  Take 2 to internal, only use it for music and video files, and making external but always connected.

In addition to the other benefits of SSD, that would make my MBP laptop once again.  The 2 TB ST2000LM003 has the problem of click of 7 seconds and hdapm will not work with it.  So whenever my laptop is off, I start UBUNTU live (from a 4 GB partition), use "hdparm b 254/dev/sda" and then restart in Mac OS.  This is ridiculous and I am so angry at Apple for this bug never-will - asked, much less recognized, major who destroyed hard drives in one year, if you don't know about it.  And why isn't available under OSX hdparm?  I don't understand.

Sigh.  But, in practice, this laptop is a desktop computer and run for months at a time.  Sometimes a reboot or picking up without closing, but I no longer consider at work or at the Café every day.  If I did, I would need an SSD or the old drive 1.5 TB who worked with hdapm, no way around it.

    Options:

1 USB 3.0 via TB KENIMBENI adapter USB 3.  I have a USB 3 enclosure 2.5 ".  The cheapest option, but the laptop is attached to the disk and relying on the KENIMBENI adapter.

External storage wireless would be nicer.

    COST: $150 for SSD

    2. upgrade the router to a Netgear R6400 with NAS integrated for use with the USB 3 2.5 "disk.  Is this router based reliable NASs for storage used continuously?  TPlink is FTP only, but Netgear I think supports SMB and what we call "ReadySHARE.

I know that I have to reformat to NTFS, because I don't think that they exFAT, FAT32 has a limit of 4 GB, and nothing does support Apple HFS.

    COST: $150 SSD, $150 for router = $300

3 router upgrade to any type of gigabit (TP-Link C7) and get a good NAS adapter or drive like WD My Cloud.

    COST: $150 SSD, $100, $150 NAS router = $400

Or skip the router and NAS go to MBP ethernet port.  Always trendy, but more reliable than the Kanex USB3? Could be.

RAM is obvious speedup... more work space for the busy activities.  El Capitan will use all available RAM, because it must effectively.  MacSales.com sells quality 16 GB RAM for $107.

SSD... faster but more expensive than the HD.  MacSales /OWC sells a good internal SSD.  Your choice if the extra dollars are worth the speed.

CarbonCopyClone (bombich.com, $40) will copy entire partitions with external disks connected with boxes to join new disks.  And makes a good routine of backup-tool.

Can't comment on 'need to restart UBUNTU' or router problems.

  • T61p: Enough memory Ram and good?

Equals any brand? I bought 2 GB of ram for my t61p 6460-D8G and score windows experience base doesn't change almost...

How will I know if I get a good RAM? Is there a difference between them? Just, I went into a store and get, without any question.

Moderator Note: Type added to the line object for clarity.

Not sure I can answer all your questions. As for software for Vista 64 bit, it depends on what app, you need for your work. As far as my experience goes I have not experienced problems with compatibility. Especially all 32-bit applications running under Vista 64-bit. Exception is really legacy software that use the 16-bit code. It there was only one such application in my case, but I soon saw an app to substitute for it. Regarding the benefits, I can't say that I have no way of how to compare. One thing is certain - there is nothing of spectaculary diferent performace wise. Vista 64 bit runs qute sumilar to 32-bit. It can happen that it makes things faster (for example to copy large files), but I'm not sure. Of course, the good point is that you can use more than 3 GB of RAM on your machine with Vista 64 bit. That's the good thing, but even once, don't expect miracles after being able to use 1 GB RAM more. The improvement will be slight. Is it reasonable to upgrade your Vista 32 bit to 64 bit? Its all about you. It can happen that it is not this great whirlpool that you can try to contact Lenovo and ask them for the 64-bit support (I saw some people in this forum by saying that it worked for them). If this does not work, then you try to find something useful for you here

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/showthread.php?t=144783

In any case, I can say that nothing is worng with your RAM. The score seems completely OK. My system has 4 GB of RAM, and as I said the ir score 5. So, no reson to worry about you.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 6c51ea: upgrade of the dv6 6c51ea ssd and ram wifi card

    Hello
As of late I thought the upgrade or replace my laptop, but I have a few questions to help me decide.
First ram cited the speed of the processor is listed as 1066/1333 hz, however I can not check it on the site of hp and the crucial site recommend ddr3 at 1600 hz, the site hp also says is that 8 GB however apparently due to the fact that it was released on Windows 7 However the processor can support 16 GB max memory support and since upgrading to win 10 my system would be doing, is this correct?

What kind of improvements I see by installing an ssd (Samsung evo 850) 500 GB?

And finally the wifi card could be readily available and upgraded to the new ac wifi to use the router to HQ and speeds mon is provides and I pay!

So basically will be the ssd, 2 x 8 GB 1600 mhz sodimm ram, and a wifi amd card equipped for the £300 it cost would he give me the jump in performance for his money as the cpu and gpu are rather dated now (i5 2450 m and radeon 7470 m) when a new system with an i5 4th gen with 1 GB graphics , 500 GB and 16 GB of ram, ssd would cost about £900 what would be the main benefits

    Thank you very much

    Shott

I stand well partially corrected. The 8 gig RAM max was on the technical page of HP and the maintenance manual says maximum 16 concerts. As you note, it will run at 1333 mhz, but yes you can install 16 gigs and upgrade to Windows 10 made no difference there. You may installed 16 concerts with all 64-bit operating systems.

  • ThinkPad X 230 Upgrade RAM help

    Hey Hi,

I plan to upgrade my Thinkpad X230s memory up to 8 GB. I have a few questions, it would be a great help if anyone can help me.

    (1) is it better to use the configuration 2x4gb or 1x8GB? What are the benefits? (Configuration of Thinkpad X 230 support dual channel does?)

    (2) CPU - Z shows my current RAM is running at 1.5 V. I put two 4 GB RAM running at 1.35v? (Thinkpad X 230 supports type DDR3L memory?)

    (3) what happens if I use two RAM with different CASES of latency?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello, neerajmishra

    1. with two modules are installed, 2 x 4 GB, for example, CPU works in mode dual channel. This means better performance

    2. officially, according to the x 230 specifications, laptop supports 1.5 volt type memory. Supported CPU in the x 230, 1.35 and 1.5 v. module types X 230 actually works with two types of memory. In addition, it is able to work with 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) installed. Main desired - do not mix different types memory, use the modules of 1.5 or 1.35 for the moment.

3 requirement is the same as above - do not mix different memory types

  • 1.6 GHz 1.8 GHz vs. benefits of the turbo memory? a/b/g/n vs a/b/g

    Three questions really...

Is there a significant difference in performance between processors clocked at 1.6 GHz and 1.8 GHz? If so, how is this affecting production of heat/energy.

What is the advantage of the hd turbo memory cache and it interacts badly with vista?

Is a comopatible n-network card as the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN has significantly lower energy consumption that thinkpad atheros card? (I read this on another forum) Otherwise, I decide that I really have need compatibility n-network because few of these networks exist.

The difference in speed is minimal between the two processors of the same generation, i.e. Core Duo or Core 2 Duo. The turbo memory benefits are realized only when you do not have a lot of ram for Vista, that is 1 gig or something. If you install 3 GB of ram (market now good enough right) the gain in speed is minimal with Turbo memory is minimal, while your 3 concert can still run under XP not the same for the Intel turbo memory. You can also get half of the allocation of memory Intel turbo using the functionality of Windows Readyboost in Vista, obtained using a fast SD card or a USB key. Wireless cards with doubled the speed of the g version N function, if you much sharing of large files wireless then of course it is useful, but if just use you it for surfing the net so I think 54 Mbps is fast enough.

  • Upgrade Ram HP 2000-2c27cl

Heya guys, new to the community here. Looking to ride the ram in my laptop HP 2000-2c27cl, E0P76UA, 4 GB model number 8. Not seen no support realization of luck for my model here on the forums and have not been able to find comptabiles ram online. I'm not too sure if I have to buy two 4 gig sticks or a 4 gig stick and use it with one stick that I already have, but I'm buying two of the exact same thing works better. Thanks for any help in advance.

Edit: I found this, but it seems that it is $90 for a stick!

    Here is your manual:

    Manual

Your AMD model uses DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM memory like this:

    http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/memory/ct4g3s1339m

It's a Mac logo, but this does not mean that it is only for a Mac. Mac uses the same kind of memory as PC now.

If you install a second stick of DDR3-1333 compatible you operation dual channel which means you get the same benefits as the installation of 2 identical modules.

Memory prices are generally up to now if you want to avoid having to buy 2 new sticks.

  • The RAM and HARD drive upgrade

    Hello

I put my laptop, at level

    8.1 Windows 64-bit, Intel Core i7-4700MP @ 2.40 GHz

    Currently 12 GB of Ram - 8 GB & 4 GB Kingston DDR3

    Currently 1 TB Toshiba HDD
    http://storage.Toshiba.EU/CMS/en/HDD/computing/product_detail.jsp?ProductID=409

I'm looking to upgrade the 4 GB of RAM to a 8 GB, I just don't know how many pins each room has. Any guidance where to find this without disassembling the machine would be very handy! -I think it's a 204pin?

Also looking to add a second hard drive on my machine, what is the maximum size that can take this laptop? Ideally I'd like an another 1 TB HDD (same brand) than my current. Is this possible? Then the hard drives of 1 TB overprinting two system?

EDIT: Is it possible to have the other as an SSD? Although that can't really benefits to have as a slave instead of a master drive.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    Manual - Page 2

    Plug

RAM: Yes, 204pin SODIMM SDRAM desired. You can buy the memory stick to the exact configuration & preference even brand that is already installed on your computer laptop & listed in the service manual, so that it works correctly.

Configuration of the RAM: 8 GB DDR3L 1600 MHz PC3L-12800 1.35v SODIMM SDRAM

Run this tool to know the configuration & Details of RAM already installed.

Page 51 details the procedure of replacement, fairly simple.

HDD: According to the manual, it has double drive HARD support. You can put another 1 TB 2.5 inch 9.5 mm SATA HDD. You can buy additonal material of hard drive Kit (HP PRTs number: 720237-001) to install on secondary Bay for data storage.

I would have preferred a faster 7200 RPM HARD drive with the cache higher like this , if you want more storage.

Alternatively, you can replace the current HDD with SSD of similar form factor (2.5 inches SATA 7 mm or 9.5 mm thick) and make as boot drive by moving the drive toward SSD HARD integer before replacement & put old HDD to secondary storage Bay. SSD would defintely thrust upward performance drastically, but they are expensive - I would say worth the cost.

Page 48-50 details the replacement procedure. Its relatively simple to do.

  • New RAM with more MHz

    Hello

I want to improve my 4 GB RAM to 8 or 16 GB. I got the Acer Aspire v3 - 771 G - 73634G75Maii-> motherboard: Acer VA70_HC. Now, my question is: can I also enhance the MHz? I want 1600 MHz instead of 1333 MHz. do you think its good if it works, or do you think I should install 1333 MHz?

Welcome aboard, the red head redhead. It's a powerful rig you have there, and your Core i7 CPU could probably do it. But let me explain one of the secrets of dark of this technology.

With the exception of a few high end games, your computer does not have more than two gigabytes of RAM for a program. Now, because you have a variety of programs running in the background, you use more than 2 GB a large part of the time. But if you just add more RAM, you will not harm your machine, you will be able to do more (especially if you're playing high end games), and your laptop takes care of everything.

If you start using a different type of RAM, you will receive benefits little or not, and you could foul a really nice laptop.
