Need a SMTP service for the web server running Windows 7 Professional SP1
The remote server administration tools package seems to work only for the management of Windows 2008. I have a web server running on Windows 7 and want to integrate the messaging service. IIS 7.5/7.0 does not include this feature. Now that are remote server administration tools installed, I tried to use the feature of IIS 6.0, however, a message is displayed to indicate that I don't have the SMTP service is installed. I checked the 'Server' SMTP under functionality after installing IIS 6.0 from the admin of remote server Pack. This does not install the feature. Could someone give information on how I can install email/mail service or function to use with my domain name on Windows 7 Professional SP1? Thank you.
Microsoft recently released an update for the Remote Server Administration tools work with domain controllers running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

Ranging from 32-bit to Windows 7 pro 64, how disk partitions will react?
Hello
I have a 250 GB hard drive, 2 partitions on it: C:\ for programs, installation and user of the files, with windows 7 Pro 32-bit installed on it. The other partition D:\ is for files (music, photos, documents, etc.). Those who are not two separate drives: they are partitions.I was wondering if the second partition can be a problem if I format the C:\ partition and install Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on it, don't touch does not partition D:\. (I don't know if the new OS will be able to read/recognize the partition D:\) I have 32-bit and 64-bit legally available through DreamSpark versions and want to make the switch to use only available in 64-bit software.I know that my processor is 64-bit capable (Dell Inspiron 1700 with Intel T9300) and I have already formatted a computer, so this isn't a problem for me.Thanks for your help!Data such as MP3, JPG files are not affected by the type of bit. The format of the disc is exactly the same so that they are accessible from both versions. It's only the programs that differ between 64 and 32-bit and 64-bit Windows runs 32-bit programs

LifeCam HD-6000 works do not with the ThinkPad T60p, Windows XP Professional
I have a Lifecam HD6000 plugged into my ThinkPad from IBM / Lenovo T60p (Windows XP Professional service pack 3).
The camera is recognized, but it does not display all images.
When I check in the Device Manager, the device status field indicates that the unit is working properly.
The only error that appears when I run the LifeCam software. It only shows that "LifeCam.exe has encountered a problem.
If I use any web based video call, the camera is recognized, but an image never appears.Y at - it a fix for this problem? Is it because it needs a USB 2.0 port, or because I use Windows XP Professional? Or something else altogether?
When I connect it to another laptop (Lenovo Think Pad T450, Windows 7) the camera works very well.
Hello
I suggest you to follow the steps in this Microsoft KB article troubleshooting and check if it helps.

Windows 7 professional full, can be installed as upgrade?
Currently I have Windows Vista SP2 Biz
Now through MSDNAA with my study I can get Windows 7 Professional. This version of Windows 7 is not an upgrade pack, just a full version. Is the full version allows a facility as a facility upgrade, rather than own?Obviously if I bought a retail version I would like to get the version level, but through my study, I can get a full version.I wanted to ask this question before I consider the download of Windows 7.Yes. An in-place-upgrade from Vista business to Windows 7 Professional is supported. See
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/upgrade
However the change between 32-bit and 64-bit requires a Custom Installation. As long as the number of bits is the same, you're well. Use the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to determine which programs must be removed before you start the upgrade. Use Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer to save all your files and settings, as a precaution. Start the upgrade from the Vista desktop and choose to update install selection screen appears.

I'm unable to receive messages from AT & T in Windows Mail.
original title: Windows Mail.I am running windows vista, I can not receive messages from ATT server in Windows Mail. I have all the settings set as to what say ATT. What suggestions you have.
Search for antivirus interference. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
Also try to delete your account completely and then compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/), and then add your e-mail account of return with the correct settings and see if it works then.

Whenever I have use (compmgmt.msc) computer management and access the remote computer, I connect successfully to it. But when I select the Device Manager it says: 'access denied '. I checked the security policy (secpol.msc) and I chose the deny access to this computer from the network and there no users and groups listed but it says that its default value is invited. Can you tell me the step by step procedure?
Thank you.
In addition to changes to the GP, you must also do the following.
Open services.msc, locate the "Remote registry" service, start the service and set to start automatically.

Hello and thank you for reading this note. First time poster here. Please excuse the bad post...
I was given a Dell PowerEdge 2650 (dual Xeon), which has been deleted. There is a license sticker on top for Windows 2000 Server..., but this product is no longer available from Dell. Technical support proposed contacting Microsoft about the availability of an installation CD.
I've been wandering the Microsoft site to research to find out where to contact (e-mail, phone, Mail US?) about this... and turn to this group for assistance.
Who should I contact?
Your time is appreciated.

Migration of the domain controller Active Directory of windows 2000 server to a Server 2008.
I have an old machine that is running Windows 2000 server and it's our only one domain controller in a mixed 2000/2003/2008 server environment. I would like to move to one of the servers 2008 Active Directory and make the PDC and withdraw from the old box of 2000.
I saw a sea of documentation about the updated/move ActiveDirectory, but no clear examples of what I need to accomplish.
Can I do a dcpromo on a 2003 server, synchronization of the 2000 box, retire the 2000 Server, then dcpromo th 2008 Server 2003 Server? I know this may seem simplistic to a complicated procedure, but I have not really found anything to support...
A simple link to a procedure taken care of step by step would be great.
Thanks for all the ideas in advance.

RVL200 and Windows 2000 Server - can not access network resources via VPN
I am new to the VPN, and I feel I'm missing something very basic in my configuration. I just installed a RVL200 as the gateway for my corporate network router. The network includes a Windows 2000 Server that acts as server DHCP and several PC and a printer. I was able to "establish a SSL VPN tunnel" home connection to the router, but after recording in everything I see is the screen of virtual Passage - one with lock icons - otherwise I am inside the router. The statement shows that I am connected. Once the tunnel is established, what am I supposed to do to get computers to the computers on my network? I can ping all computers on the network using their LAN address. I'm supposed to see a choice of network resources to get to this point? I put the router as a trusted site in the server and even tried to disable all firewalls, but I see that the VPN screen with icons. I don't know how to proceed from here because I don't know what I'm supposed to see. Thanks for any help that you can give to a newbie!
The SSL connection is only for the VPN router. To access the computer, you can use Windows Remote Desktop connection. So that you can access to remote computers on the network, or you could look for 3 third-party software for remote access
Hope this helps
