Ray-tracing on GPUS requires a graphics NVIDIA and CUDA 5.0 or later approved

The error message below started popping up right when I've upgraded to the latest version after effects CC (12.1).

RayTraceMessage.png

I have running Max OS Lion still (10.75) so I'm not sure its related to the OS.   I run two monitors also.

Stupid, but it seems that I just needed to restart my computer. Restart after effects was not enough. Womp. Happy thanksgiving.

The only thing THAT AE really use the GPU is obsolete ray-traced rendering engine. Very few people use the ray-traced rendering engine. I wouldn't worry about this at all.

More info here: features GPU (CUDA, OpenGL) in After Effects and here: http://motionworks.net/after-effects-3d-future/

Now, some third-party plugins (like element, 3D Invigorator, transmutation, etc..) Make use of the GPU, but they will work with the AMD cards and have nothing to do with this warning of CUDA, you want to come. Check that the requirements for all you plan to buy.

You can confidently check the option do not show this message.

Ray Tracing is legacy at this stage as Adobe has evolved with the link of C4D. I wouldn't worry on this subject since it was rarely used anyway. You can get a good map of 960GTX and improve your performance for first and SOUL. Æ use almost all CPU and ram for this moment.

This error message can be ignored (there is even an option to tell him to never show again).

This means what he says. He tells you that your GPU is not supported for the acceleration of the converter drawn with RADIUS. This is not a problem, because it is an obsolete effect. Now that After Effects comes with Cinema 4 d, you have a more quickly, better and better how to produce 3D in AE.

    > I get this error when I open After Effects.

Ray-tracing on GPUS requires a graphics NVIDIA and CUDA 5.0 or later approved. For the moment, tracing will use the CPU.

This isn't a mistake. This is just an informational message. It's just saying you that you do not have the equipment needed to use a specific feature. Don't worry; This is a feature that you have almost no reason to worry - the traced the beam 3D rendering engine. There are many superior ways to do 3D in After Effects without using this feature. Just ignore the message and continue.

  • What is a NVIDIA graphics card and why my After Effects requires one?

This is my first time to use After Effects and I don't know anything about. I opened it and something pops up saying 'Ray-tracing on GPUS requires a NVIDIA and CUDA 5.0 or later approved graphics card'. What it means? I'm worried create anything on after effects incase it cannot record because of this problem.

Your graphics card can't do ray traced 3D, so (ray traced 3D) it will be not very usable with large 3D scenes. Not a problem really unless what you AE for. You can still use the program. It's just a warning your graphics card does not minimum requirements for "ray 3D" features drawn, although it will still work, the CPU can do it too, but the classic rendering engine is generally fine for 3D in AE

You can use it, but it was not tested and not supported. You use it at your own risk, with the caveats explained here:

Now, here, I've not seen any post is linked with the card Nvidia GT 730 or found it in the condition list!

I need to know if this card supports or not?

    What should I do now?

Help me as soon as possible...

First of all, why do you want to use the ray-traced rendering engine? It is considered to be obsolete. It was a crappy way to do 3d in After Effects. And, if you do not use it to create the geometry of 3d in AE, it slowed just all way down.

If you want to do 3d in AE work, use the new and more powerful 3d solution that comes with AE or use a third-party plugin like 3-d element Zaxwerks Invigorator, courage, etc. - GPU needs ShapeShifter have nothing to do with the requirements of the renderer traced to the RADIUS. I'm sure that all three of them can use your GPU, but check the requirements before you buy anything.

Now, if you want to continue to use the old ray-traced rendering engine, this is the page with the requirements for the ray-traced rendering engine: after effects configuration required for Mac OS and Windows

Nowhere does N cards or GT (except one: GT 650 M). All cards are cards GTX or Quadro. Now, in AE CC 2014 and versions later, you can check the box to use unsupported cards in order to expedite the ray-traced rendering engine, so you can try it.

  • Why Ray-Tracing is disabled?

Hi, I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 1024Mo of 650 M. In after effects THAT GPU CC is disabled, so my question is that my graphics card is too old or simply not supported by adobe. If this is the case, how can I activate my graphics card to allow ray-tracing?

    Thank you very much

    Eduard

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M

According to the system requirements, this card is approved for the acceleration of the converter drawn with RADIUS: system requirements | After Effects

Please make sure that you have the current driver of CUDA. Also, Macs are set up to make 'smart' actual switching between graphics from Intel and your GPU. You must ensure that your GPU is the only thing used and it does not move to the Intel graphics card. It's in your control panel somewhere.

What version of Yosemite? Make sure that you have updated to the latest. Apple has fixed a few bugs that hit After Effects in their last update.

That being said, the ray-traced rendering engine is considered as an obsolete feature. The After Effects team is it evolves any more. If I were you, I'd put my efforts in becoming familiar with C4D Lite and the Cineware effect. This is where the AE team is to put their development time and is more powerful than the raytraced render engine.

  • Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti may need BIOS update.

I am trying to install a card grafics of nvidia GeForce GTX 550 it on my Compaq Presario desktop computer.
Model SR5115NL product number GN729AA-ABH equipped Windows Vista 32.

The message I get from the Device Manager is:
"This device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31). »

It may have something to do with the port of Intel(r) 945 G/GZ/GC/P/PL PCI Express Root - 2771 which has also a problem
"Your computer's system firmware includes enough information to properly configure and use this device.
To use this device, contact the manufacturer to obtain a firmware or an update of the BIOS of your computer. (Code 35) »

I downloaded the latest drivers from NVIDIA and even install them manually.
Next, I visited the site of HP and used the tool updated to update the drivers and BIOS, but so far zero.

    What should do?

    Success in the end.

Use a PNY program to check the graphics card, it was concluded that the material was OK.

So it was very probably the Device Manager or the operating system, which have been unable to detect the graphics card properly and read its hardware ID.

After reinstalling Windows Vista, PCI-e by selecting view adapter in the Bios setup, all went well.
The card has been recognized, the driver has been installed and everything works as it should.
