  I test the upgrade of R12 and I have a question about the installation of the software stack R12 before the actual upgrade time. My question is what others have done this R12 installation before the actual upgrade period in the same way and if so any problem come upwards with the instance of 11i which must be available and in production for the time between installation R12 and the actual start of the upgrade? Hope it makes sense.

  I work for Oracle and am considered an expert in the upgrade as I did upgrades of Applications since version 9.

  This is the method that I use every time I have to perform an upgrade. You must have your 11i completely stop instance to perform the installation, so that the ports are not in conflict, and the installation does not update your 11i instance at all.

  I recently bought a HP Pavilion 2245sq G6 and I encountered a problem with USB 3.0 ports. They are not recognized in the Device Manager. I installed some drivers (Chipset, graphic, Synaptics and so on) and it seems that it did not help with my problem.   I recommend you to try the following steps to check the USB ports. First of all I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling concentrators root USB from Device Manager. Please follow the steps below to reinstall the USB root hubs:

  • Click Start, in start search type Device Manager and press ENTER.
  • Expand Bus USB controllers.
  • Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click on uninstall to remove them one at a time.
  • Restart the computer and check.

  This problem may occur because of incompatible or corrupted touchpad drivers. I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and see if it helps.

  Can you please do the following?

  -Create a for the listener listener.ora file, stop and start the receiver using the listener.ora file. If the file is located in a default location, set the TNS_ADMIN environment variable to that location before you start the listener.

  -Log on to the EM console, go to the homepage of the listener.

  -In the Oracle Listener menu, select target Configuration > Configuration of the analysis.

  -Ensure that the parameters, including the Listener.ora directory, are properly.
