export bookmarks in one easy to read document

I export all my favorites in a easily readable list, ideally divided under the headings of each file where they are currently (in my firefox browser). I have currently set up under various folders (topics) and I would like to be able to have all the specific links in every folder accessible to me as a word doc or similar. In particular for research and teaching purposes, I need to be able to access these links away from my browser, on a list that I can print and distribute. I tried to export as html and then open in word, but it becomes illegible for a tech uninformed as me. Thanks a lot for your help

You can open the file bookmarks.html in a Firefox tab.

  • How to export bookmarks in 17

I use Firefox 17.0.1. How do I export my favorites from one computer to another?

    Thank you. Jim B.

Thanks for the help. I had a bunch of bookmarks that I have collected over a period of time on my desk. I recently acquired a new laptop and wanted to copy on it. What I've done below worked perfectly.

To copy bookmarks to another computer

    1. Install a flash player in computer #1
    2. In the menu bar, open the bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > export bookmarks as HTML.
    3. In the window that opens, scroll down to the flash player, then press on < record >
    4. Install flash player in computer #2.
    5. Repeat step 2 in the computer #2 except hit import bookmarks to HTML.
    6. Scroll down to the flash player and highlight [bookmarks. HTML] and click Open.
    7. Bookmarks must be imported at this point.

All instructions and links I found were a little wordy, confusing and does a not address this issue directly.

I thank once again. Jim B.

  • One or more PDF documents are opened in a web browser - message

    Hello

I have a new laptop series L and its great. The only foible I can think is a message that I get when I try to stop. There is a message box that says: "one or more PDF documents are opened in a web browser. If you are now leaving the adobe reader software, these documents will be closed. Are you sure you want to exit? ».

The thing is I don't have any PDF or web browsers open at the time! Can you help me please?
    Thank you, Mark.

    Hi Mark

Believe me it s no big deal the same thing happens from time to time on my laptop
Usually, PDF files can be read with the Adobe Acrobat reader software. This service application runs in the context of the BONE and this message can be displays if the Adobe Acrobat reader software can not close the background automatically process

I solved that little problem by deleting the software acrobat reader from the system. After restarting again I reinstalled it again

Now, the message does not appear and everything works like a dream ;)

  • I have a desktop computer and a laptop. When I change a bookmark on one, it does not change on the other, even if I am connected to sync

I have a desktop computer and a laptop.
When I change a bookmark on one, it does not change the other even though I am connected to the sync.

    Sync is meant to do?

Most probably one of the two computers has corrupted data which does not allow the sync complete.

Refresh (called "Reset" in older versions of Firefox) can solve a lot of problems in restaurant Firefox as his default factory while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose all the extensions, toolbar customizations, and certain preferences. See article Firefox Refresh - reset modules and parameters for more information.

    Refresh for Firefox:

    1. Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:

      • Click the menu button

        click Help

and select troubleshooting information. Should open a new tab containing your troubleshooting information.

      • If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
    2. At the top right of the page, you should see a button that says 'Refresh Firefox' ('reset Firefox' in older versions of Firefox). Click on it.
    3. Firefox closes. Once the update process is complete, Firefox will display a window with the imported information.
    4. Click Finish and reopen Firefox.

  • I need keystrokes to import and export bookmarks

I'm blind and use programs output speech to run my windows 8.1 machine and of course impossible to use a traditional mouse. I arrow and tab through each accessible section of the menu of bookmarks, but also with key applications and could find no way that focuses on the key to the achievement of each task. I also tried her curse and swear!

    Hi Eggman,

This seems incredibly frustrating. The following worked for me:

    1. launch Firefox and press Tab six times to access the bookmarks menu. Press ENTER.

    2. press Alt then arrow up once, and then the right arrow twice to reach the menu import and backup of bookmarks.

Once you are in the menu import and backup, it's just a matter of selecting the desired option (import bookmarks HTML, export bookmarks in HTML format, or to import bookmarks from another browser).

I hope that this will take you quite far as your program of speech output can guide you the rest of the way.

  • Export bookmarks from a Mac with broken video

I can't export the bookmarks of the iMac broke because his video has failed, but I can access the content of its HD on the network and can see the... Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles folder. It seems empty but Get Info says that it contains 380.5 Mb.

I would like to somehow copy and paste data on a second Mac, via the network, and then merge the two sets of bookmarks (but would settle for export bookmarks in the second Mac, then crush them with the iMac, before the re - import the exported bookmarks to create a merged file).

All about the iMac is saved on Time Machine if this helps, but I do not use iCloud.

Only the disk cache and other files are located in the Library/Caches/Firefox/location.

Here you can find the main profile folder:

    • < User > /users//Library/Application Support / Firefox/Profiles/< profile >.

In Mac OS X v10.7 and later versions, the file $HOME/Library is a hidden folder.
