RDP hosts BSOD - Code SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION: 0x0000003b

Original title: RDP hosts BSOD

We recently took 10 desktop computers that employees used in a branch at Headquarters and set them to remote desktop for the employees of the branch can have faster access to the resources of main office.

Three of the new RDP to the headquarters hosts suffered a BSOD event. They are all:

Chain: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
Code: 0x0000003b
P1:00000000'c0000005
Pilot: win32k.sys

Each computer has undergone at least one of these since moved BSOD (one had 3, the most recent being yesterday) and never had a BSOD before moving.

I made sure they are updated, sfc/scannow and antivirus scans have been done and revealed no problems.

One of them was installed KB2939180 to respond to a question of freezing and had his first BSOD a few days later (in some cases that KB is used to solve this problem).

In troubleshooting, I applied this patch: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2525246

From the application, machine a BSOD was again with exactly the same discharge.

I fight on a path to go down.

Before the move, those workstations had never BSOD had and were quite stable.

They are all Lenovos (different models, different years of manufacturing), using cards Quadro and Windows 7 Ultimate edition.

According to Ferdinand that it is hardware related.  A re - install will not solve the issue.  Given that the majority of the 124 genuine intel I suggest you run prime 95.

Try this free stress test: http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/

    Prime95 Setup program;
-Extract the contents of the zip file into a directory of your choice
    -Double-click on the executable file
    -Select "all stress testing.
-Select the test of 'Blend '.  If you have already run MemTest overnight, you can run the test of "Small FFFS" instead.
"Number of threads of torture test run" must equal the number of processors multiplied by 2 (if you use hyperthreading).
The best way to do this is to go to the Manager of the tasks of the figure... The performance tab - and see the number of boxes that appear under the CPU usage history
Then run the test of 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors [b](whichever comes first)
The selection of Test and the file stress.txt box describes the components that insists on the program.

I have an environment with VMware View 3.1 and a virtual machine with XP Prof. parent (real SP, updates and so on).

Very often when I am connected to a virtual desktop with my client to view, this session is interrupted, and I got an error message:

The details of the error checking (double free) suggest memory corruption occurs.  This may be due to a hardware failure (defective RAM, for example), or a bad/buggy driver or a driver that is not designed for the version of Windows you are using. Consider using driver verifier as described below, to determine which driver is corrupting the memory.

General to deal with the bluescreens indications:

Consider running chkdsk on all partitions.  Leave complete chkdsk on each partition and see if that helps.

It may be useful to use the driver verifier.  To activate the... Driver Verifier start-> verifier.exe-> OK-> create standard settings-> next-> driver select the names to a list-> next-> sort by provider-> select all other Microsoft drivers-> finish and OK your way out of the dialog box.

Then restart and use the system as you normally and wait for a problem.  In case the system does not completely start after activation of the Verifier, boot mode safe and run driver verifier and tell him to remove the changes.

Wait for an error checking to happen after you have enabled the auditor as described and then download the dump on your SkyDriveand provide a link.

    Also consider running SFC/scannow.

If you start in safe mode, do you still feel bugs? What if you do a clean boot, or boot device?

Consider the memory with memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic test. Note that memory that pass the tests isn't necessarily good memory - he not only failed a review.  Examine systematically to eliminate the system RAM - run with a few modules for awhile and see how things are going. Then try the other modules.

Other common suggestions include ensuring drivers are up to date, but also to ensure that you use the latest version of the BIOS.

What is the model of your computer and do ?

This occurs generally if the graphics drivers are not updated, however, as you said that the drivers are up-to-date, I suggest you download the drivers from the manufacturers Web site and reinstall.

Note: Make sure that you select the right OS and bit version.

  • Dual LUN T60p w/ATI Mobility FireGL V5250 gets BSOD code recovery mode standby/hib 0x7F(0xd,0x0,0x0,0x0)

I recently added a monitor to my T60p.  The video is an ATI Mobility FireGL V5250 with 512 MB of video RAM.  With ATI and the original BIOS drivers, there is a refresh very noticeable flicker tear occurring on the external monitor.  I tried to update the video using the ATI drivers, but it was a no-go (he pointed out that no supported device has been found, and indeed the V5250 is not a standard ATI offering).  I downloaded and installed the video driver ATI at 2008-01-31 listed in the downloads and drivers for the Lenovo T60p, and the problem remains.  Then I downloaded and installed the latest version of the BIOS (v1.14 - 7IET33WW) and recovered the stability of the display.  Other components of the system have also been updated: Reader, display HotKey, Powermanager of fingerprints.

The next and current obstacle became the system to resume from standby or Hibernate mode (which we used to do without any problem).  If I put the PC to sleep or into hibernation after the desktop on the external monitor display, it will BlueScreen during reboot while resting on the login screen (or when connecting if I don't wait for the system to 'solve').  If I do not extend to the desktop, it seems to take OK (I didn't of extensive testing).  When the system is restarted, the error report that is sent to Microsoft would get a response indicating an incomplete/invalid dump and no help on the error.

I reapplied (not uninstall) drivers ATI, thinking that he can use new behavior of BIOS to correct itself.  Minidumps are apparently now complete (since the Microsoft error report accepts them at least), but there is no indication in the discharge report, and they continue to occur.  He's still 0x7F (0xd, 0 x 0, 0 x 0, x 0).

I have 26 minidumps.  WinDbg can read them and reports of 0x1000007f (like 0xd, 0, 0, 0) in at offset 102550 ati2mtag.sys (probably hex) and the offending statement a bugcheck was:

movzx eax, byte ptr fs: [h 51]

Anyone can shed some light on this?  I have not uninstalled/reinstalled drivers ATI because I don't want to take the risk of completely paralysing the PC.

The problem has been corrected (!), so I'll mark this as resolved issue.  I now inoperative Center control Catalyst (CCC), but I think it's a relatively minor issue that I can deal with later.

There are several learning along the way to share with all those who are interested:

-After this experience, I would consider v8.442 FireGL video driver as it is less stable than the Version 8.383.1.1.3 (for XP) mode dual monitor and does not recommend its use.  If you do not upgrade to it, be prepared to restore.

-Old drivers can be found on www.opendrivers.com, but are also available via ftp from the IBM web site.  I found it quite by chance.  The v8.383.1.1.3 driver is ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/79d165ww.exe.

-If, like me, you may not use rollback and must install a driver more old an new, know that the old version of the CCC will not install.  You need to uninstall the newer version first.  Otherwise, you will remain with a version of CCC who (apparently) does not work.

    Thanks for your help, JanJL!

Unplug the PC from the domestic sector.

    Remove the memory modules.

Put only one memory card in the nearest location of the CPU.

Once this is done, you can plug the PC back to see if it starts up.

If it does not start, then disconnect the PC.  Remove the memory module and put the other module in its place, plug the PC and try to start again at the top.

    Hi RJ.

Generally these BSOD codes are mainly related to hardware or driver issues...
Before exchanging something or contact an authorized repair service provider, I recommend you to reinstall Windows from the Toshiba recovery disc. This can restore with pre-tested settings factory settings and drivers of Toshiba. Normally, everything should work fine with him.

If this is not the case, there is a hardware problem, but it is always hard to tell which part is exactly defective. Therefore, you need professional help from a technician for laptop.

The system has RAID? If so, it's also very suspicious.

This error is usually a driver problem and display adapter (video) driver is the most suspicious if
It could be others. Antivirus/antispyware/security programs, major software and hardware (heat)
questions can also cause the error. When you get to the section of the driver to use the Troubleshoot utility my
generic methods in the next message and then return to the if necessary troubleshooting tool.

Have you recently added hardware or drivers updated? Don't forget to look in Control Panel - Windows
Updates to see if all drivers have been updated it. Other donor opportunities include the antivirus/anti-
    spyware/security programs.

When you get to the pilot and sections of the memory of the troubleshooter check the following message to update drivers and test the memory and then return to the troubleshooter if necessary.

Try to remove and replace the cards memory and cables (both ends where possible)-in fact
delete and replace - not just in the warm (on a PC) and clean the dust bunnies and vents. On
a laptop on everything that can be done is to reinstall the memory and clean the vents. (Of course delete
ALL power before opening the case).

Here are a few ways to possibly fix the blue screen issue. If you could give the blue screen
info that would help. Such as ITC and 4 others entered at the bottom left. And all others
error information such as codes of STOP and info like IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and similar messages.

    As examples:

    BCP2: 8C013D80
    BCP3: 00000000
    BCP4: 00000002

    or in this format:

    Tcpip.sys - address blocking 0 x 0 00000000 000000000 DateStamp 0 x 000000000

It is an excellent tool for displaying the blue screen error information
