• Customers light rdp to windows server 2012

  I have a client with a Windows Server 2003 32-bit server acting as a mail server & DC, but also make nightly backups.

  Users run desktop computers as well as laptops at the office, with some of them (sometimes) connect to the network from remote locations.

  I am currently looking at upgrading their environment, in upgrading the server to 64-bit Windows 2012 and add Thin Clients for desktop users, so they can connect directly to the server that will help reduce overhead costs (such as the failure of HARD drive on desktop computers).

  The question I have is if this Setup will work? Basically, I'm interested in Windows Server 2012 Server Essentials or Standard 64-bit with the necessary amount of RDP CAL this server will run exactly as the server running from 2003, in what will be the domain controller, Exchange server & perform nightly backups. In addition to this, I want to install MS Office with the necessary quantity of licenses.
  However, I would like to know if it will work or if I am looking at a catch which will prevent users to connect to the server? Or office giving problems if Word is open for a user, it will not be open for the user to one another (the same issue with Outlook & Excel etc.)?

  If there is no potential problem that prevents this configuration to work, can someone please point out to me what will be the problem and if there is a solution?

• Multipoint server 2012 Licensing is a mess

  With my initial installation of MPS 2012 I was able to get IE in "Mode of Metro" (launched from the home page) to work.  I installed Chrome and fire fox and none of these web browsers worked either.

  I reformatted the drive and re-installed MPS 2012.  After that, I was able to browse the web using ie from the desktop and things were happy.  I then started having problems where users were not able to establish RDP sessions to the server.  I installed my licenses (license CARDS) and the problems are now worse.

  I am able to connect through RDP 1 work station.  Once connected via RDP, I am not able to browse the internet at all.  When I am connected through the console, I am not able to browse the internet at all.  The problem of 'no Internet' is also not allow me to check my licenses.  When I look at my licenses I see 0 installed.  I am not able to change the licensing from automatic to manual mode.  I am able to access the server via rdp from exactly 1 host.  When I look at Multipoint Manager it tells me that I have 10 installed licenses.

  I am not able to connect using RDP from any other machine.  I can ping hosts on the internet in the MPS area which tells me that the box is internet.  I'm not able to launch the

  Anyway, any help in obtaining the license understood would be appreciated.  I don't know if IE issues are related to licenses, but the question is odd jut.

  I have a windows 2008 R2 server with 5 licenses of Terminal Server. I set it up so that users can RDP to the server using RDP and access other machines via VNC, it's not connetced to a domain or whatever it is.
  All users can connect using any OS - Win XP, Win 7, but a user cannot get to their place of work - I can connect from home, of Germany, etc. using the same user name and password, but they can get on the server but their access is denied.
  They can telnet to the IP address but can't.

• Windows SBS 2008 - user is unable to RDP in even through that it's in the appropriate groups

  Hi guys,.

  Problem: A user has been accidentally deleted from a Windows SBS 2008 server running Active Directory and we have been unable to grant him the rights of RDP - the error message indicates that the account must be granted "logon through Terminal Services right.

  The installer: A single Windows SBS 2008 server running hyper-VM with a unique virtual machine on it which manages the TS licenses

  Tried to bugs/more information:

  Things that we tried to do to solve the problem (all done via Active Directory users and computers)

  • He added to the administrators and remote desktop users groups
  • He added to the users group to the remote desktop on the virtual machine (the account can now connect to the virtual machine at least)
  • Cloned an existing account on the primary server
  • Removed and added the account through the SBS console and added to the admin and RDP groups (on the dedicated server and virtual machine)

  None of them seems to have solved the problem. There are currently 2 free licenses of TS, so I don't think it's a licensing issue.

  It's almost as if there is a top group policy setting or similar which replaces the user groups is added to, but I don't know where to look for here.

  I've already made sure that the user do not have TS access turned off in the settings of the user's

  Any suggestions?

• RDP users have difficulty of connection

  We have a Windows Server 2012 RDP server that has been in production for several months.  Today many users have trouble connecting, we get an error, "the remote session was disconnected because the client access license Remote Desktop on this computer has been modified."

  If I delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing, and then customers can connect once or twice, but then the error again.

  
  I have not found that anything of note on the other server that the certificate has expired.  I generated a new self-signed cert and warning went off.  Other thoughts?

  This question proved to be an IP address conflict with a thin client that had just been connected to the network.

  I searched in the ASA 5505 Hardware packages and I learned that there is the following text:

  -The base license, offering only 3 VLAN (3rd one limited). It also offers licenses for only 2 10 IPSec VPN and SSL VPN AnyConnect Premium (which includes the old Cisco VPN Client and EasyConnect connection), representing the two up to 10 VPN.  There are 3 types of packages, whose numbers are:

  * ASA5505-BUN - K9--> which is the basic package, offering up to 10 concurrent users internal

  * ASA5505-50-BUN - K9--> with up to 50 simultaneous users internal

  * ASA5505-UL-BUN - K9--> offering unlimited number of users at the same time internal

  -The license more than security, offering up to 20 VLAN and unlimited number of users simultaneous internal (regarding edition hardware Bundle). It also offers licenses for only 2 25 IPSec VPN and SSL VPN AnyConnect Premium (which includes the old Cisco VPN Client and EasyConnect connection), representing the two up to 25 VPNs. There is that one type of beam, whose part number is:

  * ASA5505-SEC-BUN - K9--> offering unlimited number of users at the same time internal.

  If you have the base base ASA5505-BUN-K9 license and want to upgrade to the license more than security, you would activate 2 licenses:

  + the license more security--> ASA5505-SEC-PL = (or the L-ASA5505-SEC-PL = if you wish to receive by e-mail)

  + unlimited users license--> ASA5505-SW-10-UL (as if the license more security is not hardware-Bundle, it does not come with unlimited number of users)

  and that is why it is better to buy the security more license material-Bundle from the outset that the upgrade later.

  It comes as I could get, but I have a few questions that I would like you to help me solve:

  QUESTION 4 - otherwise, there is another license called ASA-SSL-10, which could be installed with license more security. It works the same way the material above Bundle?

  QUESTION 5. -in the case of reach the internal concurrent users allowed limit, how much time would it take to update the meter because a user is getting out of the internal network?

  You're right about anyConnect 4. The main difference of old licenses is to count users that must installed AnyConnect. Not the users who use it at the same time.

  But the minimum number of users is 25 users to my knowledge. But also for users of twenty-five and five-year subscription you pay usually less it AnyConnect Essentials and AnyConnect Mobile together.

  The order codes for this combination would be (you need both):

  • L AC-PLS-5 YR-G
  • AC-PLS-5 YR-25-S

  The arp timeout can be changed with the command... (drum roll) "arp timeout"! ;-)

  Clean the Germans SP1 Windows 7 (32 bit)

  Production environment:

  The Germans SP1 WIndows 7 (32 bit)

  Office 2010 installed in native mode

  4 natively installed .NET

  After downloading and installing the new Version 4.7.1 tried to package Sharepoint Designer 2010 SP1 on a platform of German language of 32-bit SP1 of Windows 7.

  I followed all the steps as copies lines eliminated in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE text file and adds the config.xml file in the SharePointDesigner.WW of our KMS server. and all the other things mentioned.

  Ist KMS available and accessible (ping and rdp tested).

  I also made sure that the Office Software Protection Service is stopped before the scanning of the post.

  I also tried to install the Microsoft App - V package and set up Sharepoint Designer before the prescan (offvirt.msi SPD = 1).

  But I still have the problem of licensing to :-(

  By the way: since version 4.6.0 Visio and Project 2010 SP1 run as thinapps next to a natively installed Office 2010 without any problem (does not cross functions :-)).)

  Yes, it will work if you do a simple user for VDI installation.  Brokers like point of view provide some advanced features, such as:

  (1) media unload to improve streaming video vs native RDP

  (2) USB redirection - you can connect USB devices on the client side and use it in the VDI/VM

  3) pooling - is where VDIs really shine at major facilities or to reduce costs compared to physical jobs.  This allows you to create a large group of VDIs in bulk, assign users to the pool and the Broker handles then assign VDIs users connect.  With a view, you can take this further with View Composer and create a single image which is shared to significantly reduce storage consumption.  View Composer also takes care to separate the user profile on the C: so if C: is updated from the image, the user's profile remains intact.

  (4) with a view in any case, a single point of connection can be provided to the end-user combining VDI, the blades of physical office and sessions remote terminal server.

  (5) remote access using RDP over SSL.  No need to VPN tunnels anymore - any client just go to a web page and login.

  (6) support for other protocols PCoIP, RGS, and ALP.

  Even a small shop without the need of management tools help to scale the solution to a large number of users can benefit from many of the functions above.

  After starting MAC OS Server 5.2 websites and create a new Web site (actually a mirror of an existing site of very simple server implementation) I open Safari and try the URL and I get the message:

  The problem is resolved. I uninstalled MAC OS Server and started from scratch. After making sure that I was the only person in my network and also by ensuring that the server created a DNS entry for my server, I made the tutorial on websites (Lesson 1) and tested that the default Web sites are created correctly and that everything started working.

  BTW, the server license expiration message was / is incorrect. Browsers were all complaining about certificates and refusing to accept the ones I created. Expired "500 Server license" error is a catch-all message. The site that I am hosting is not encrypted, but MAC OS Server encrypts the default Web site on port 80, which may () caused a lot of questions because I was deploy my site. On lesson 2
