Re: Satellite A100-410 cannot start Windows XP

Hello

I have a Satellite A100-410 and I can't start over (in safe mode ok). When starting, it shows the XP screen and after 10 seconds, the screen goes black. We have re-installed XP but no use. We checked again and assume that something is wrong with the video card drivers.

So we checked for the last but no use. I can boot the laptop when the video card is uninstalled, so it takes to cause something weird.
Or could it be that the card is broken?

Hello.

For sure your video card is ok, otherwise you may see white screen after switching on. The problem is in the driver problem. Have you downloaded the Toshiba site display driver?
Maybe there is a conflict of driver. This site http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=1655&file=7&evp=c14f9f3787877ee f9ef4b235b9146e96 stage
Download and install. Then try to reinstall the display driver (if not work, do it in safe mode).

If she's not always you help, do a search for a new iso Windows Xp but not Windows assembly (some guys like to change windows, deleting and adding some files, and then load it. Most of these modified versions are bad).

That's all I can suggest now, sorry if does not work.

Welcome them

    Toshiba Satellite A660-158

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A660-158. It has served me less than a week. I think it's the broken hard drive.

    My problem:
Once I start the computer, it started and has worked for a while, but suddenly, there was an error reading that I didn't have the time. Computer has been restarted. And does not load... Until the boot mode does not reach. But the initial test (with logo) succeeded. Takes a long time and finally gives an error:
    -----
Cannot start Windows. Maybe it was because of the recent small difference is the hardware or software configuration. To fix this error:
    1. Insert your Windows installation disc, restart the computer (the complete transmission wasn't)
    2. choose the language settings, and then click Next.
    3. Select "repair your computer".
If this disk is missing, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer (he turned and said to wear to the DEPOT, but I do not have this feature).

    Hey,.

And why do you think the hard drive is faulty?
Have you ever tried the repair your computer option? Usually with this option you can restore factory in a few minutes.

Also if you have the Toshiba recovery disc you can also restore the factory of this disc. Just boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. You need to do a few clicks only, installation with all the drivers and tools happen automatically.

If you have any other questions, please let us know! :)

  • Satellite Pro C650 - cannot start Windows more

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C650 11Z model under Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm not very savvy computer. I can use my computer to perform tasks and use the software, but I m not very got when it comes to computer and tinkering under the hood, somehow.

I was using the laptop yesterday evening to watch a You Tube playlist and was downloading a PDF 29MB file in the background. I have done this kind of thing before and never encountered any problems.

When the download finished (I use Google Chrome) I clicked the button at the bottom left of the screen to open the download. You Tube then frozen.

I could see the little green circle spinning around like loading upward download, but nothing was happening. Then Google Chrome no longer according to the bar at the top of the window.

I tried CTRL + ALT + DEL, but the workload Manager wouldn t. The only thing I could do was turn off the laptop and running again, as it had frozen him completely. When I turned on it again, I had the Windows error recovery menu as shown in the following image.

    http://www.TechJaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Win7-error-recovery.PNG

The problem is that none of these options does nothing. If you choose the recommended option (for example Startup Repair) it comes up with the gray bar saying Windows loads the files and then will just a black screen. By selecting Start Windows normally gets you to the swirling colorful circles that make up the logo Windows and he said: start Windows but still once, it does nothing but just stick to that.

A friend told me that a BIOS reset * may help. However, I don't know how to get the BIOS on the laptop. He called Insyde H20 installed and I don't see the option to access the BIOS.

Someone at - it ideas as to what could have wrong and how can I fix? I don't have a recovery disc as my laptop was bought for me by a charity. The warranty has expired now so that I can contact t their support line.

To be honest I don't think BIOS has nothing to do with it. Start your laptop and press F8 several times to display the advanced startup options. You will find the option to start the operating system in safe mode.
If please test and let us know what happen when you try to do.

  • Satellite A100-599: cannot start service Toshiba Power Saver

I have A100-599 with Vista pre-installed. As you know there is that Toshiba Power Saver comes with mobile vista power settings. Not always, but sometimes when I turn on the computer and start windows I get this message "service Toshiba Power Saver could not start.

When I checked in Control Panel-> system-> Services if the service indeed off I saw he did start and run.

Can someone tell me why this message sometimes? It is a software issue or maybe there is a problem with the hardware?

    Hello

Maybe I m wrong but as I know Toshiba has not designed for Vista operating system energy saver!
Vista uses a power options clean that looks like a little bit like the Toshiba power saver, but not energy from Toshiba!

All laptop computers that are shipped with Vista have any preinstalled Toshiba eve!

    Hello

I had a similar problem on my computer but was able to fix it.
I took my CD of Win XP and started the repair console.

Then I used the command Chkdsk and scanned and repair files and sectors on the HARD disk.
Then I used the Fixboot command. He writes a new boot sector on the system partition.
Finally used Fixmbr command that repairs the boot partition's master boot code.

  • Satellite C650-1CP - cannot start Windows

My C650, running on Windows 7 could not start properly today. When turn on/off he went to the Windows Error Recovery screen and gave me two options: run a startup repair and start Windows normally. I clicked on the repair option and on the bottom it says windows is loading files, then it's another loading screen, and finally to a black screen, which, after a few seconds, a cursor appears. No matter how long I left my laptop on nothing changes. So I decided to choose the second option, and he went to the splash screen windows with the logo of the movement. This form lasted around a minute, and then a blue screen with an error, which is then passed to a black screen. To see this error, I completely disabled the auto reboot on system failure in the F8 options and once restarted, he took me to the same error page.

On the blue screen error was as follows:
    UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

She was followed by information saying that it's maybe a software / hardware problem and also to try safe mode.

Technical information at the bottom were the following:

    STOP: 0X000000ED (0XFFFFFA8003DDFA50, 0XFFFFFFFFC0000185, 0 X 0000000000000000, 0 X 0000000000000000)

I don't have a recovery disk, if I looked on websites have said recovery is built in. I also tried safe mode, repair your computer, last known config and other options in the F8 key, but these do not properly load and I end up on the black screen with a cursor again.

I had originally to Exchange my laptop in a week to buy it because it was defective and I had a little less than 11 months, I wonder if there is a solution to this problem and also know if I am covered under warranty for this problem. Thank you.

    Hey,.

Bluescreens are mainly problems of software or drivers so I think that reinstalling Windows would help to get rid of this.

Why you don t have a Toshiba Recovery disk? I mean in the user manual it clearly written that you have create such a floppy yourself and it only takes a few minutes and you need to blank DVDs. All that s.

The recovery disk contains an image of the settings from the factory with all the drivers and tools. It is an image pre-tested by Toshiba so everything will work after the installation of recovery. With this record, you are on the safe side.

Anyway, you can order a recovery disc here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Software problems are not covered by the warranty. Of course, you can make the laptop to an authorized service provider and guys are going to reinstall to factory settings, but you have to pay for this service.

  • Satellite Pro M200 - cannot start Windows

I have a Satellite Pro M200 PSMC4A, did an update Windows, requsted to restart, then the black screen as follows:
Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. Equip the installtion disk and restart. Problem 1: having no disk - lost I think. Lost file is \Boot\BCD.

Tried different legal remedies without success. Disk Windows XP used to reinstall but now says cannot see all hard drives!
    All of the suggestions.

    Hello

You can access the advanced boot menu? If so, you should try to start in charge more than the last known good configuration.
If this is not the only option is to reinstall Windows I think. Therefore, you can take a Microsoft or Toshiba drive. If you don t have the Toshiba disk recovery, contact the service provider authorized in your country.

I think that the recognized HARD wasn t disc because you need SATA drivers. Did you check that?

"Windows Boot Manager" Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem: 1. Insert your Windows installation disc, and then restart your computer.
I don't have the installation disc, as it was preinstalled. I tried the method "press and hold the zero button and turn on" but just to get the above screen again. I can lift the F2 and F12 menus and put everything back to the default value, but always end up returning to the screen "Windows Boot Manager".

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite A500-1GL - cannot start Windows

    Hello

I was rebuilding my laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 64-bit and after all was in charge he has restarted and sitting at the prior loading screen that says "HARD BBS-disk Boot" it used now to go further than that. Also, when I look at the BIOS settings, I lost the ability to boot from USB, which is how I loaded W7.

The problem is everything I try my laptop bluescreens OR it just sits at BBS-HDD.

I even tried a copy of XP that I had, but nothing seems to work. (This is what the blue screens laptop)

Is anyone able to help me with that and it would be useful to buy Toshiba reinstalling drive because I don't have the original I did.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    See you soon

    Tracy

    Hello

Have you already tried to install Windows from the Toshiba Recovery disk? It contains a pre-tested image of factory with all the drivers and tools, so it should always work.

If not it material s serious malfunction and you need assistance from an authorized service provider.

  • Satellite A100-00N - cannot start the system

There were 15 months and now when I push the power button to start the system, it will not work.

There are 2 blue LEDs lighting but the computer won start t. tried to release the battery and configure power but not luck, with the battery also no luck. On Toshiba that works is the button located under the power button (globe photo with the left and right arrows and a photo of a music note in a display of television or something) when I press this button you hear system starts but after a second or 3-4.

Also tried to remove the memory and hard drive but still no luck.
    Anyone?

Sorry, but there must be a serious problem, and I don't think that there is nothing you can do. The idea to start the laptop with power running is OK, but if this doesn't work and you see nothing on the screen, it must be a serious problem.

Of course you do not give any information that you did the last days with your laptop. Maybe you tried to update BIOS?

Please do not be angry on me, but if this article is written by Microsoft, you should ask them. I presume that they have tested this method before they offered as an official document.

You're right about the installation of recovery. When you use the entire operating system will be removed and installed again.

  • Satellite L40 - cannot start Windows

    Hello

hope you can help, my computer Toshibal L40 laptop on commissioning began by displaying the following error message:

    * "Cannot start Windows. a recent change in the software hardware might be causing... » *

    It offers the possibility of:
    "* Launch Startup Repair option" * "

I chose this. WIndows seems to load up, but then I get the following error message:

Installed program cannot start. Click OK to turn off the computer *.

I lost the recovery disk, but attempted to load the recovery console by using a windows XP disk, but it gave me error message more. Advice would be very welcome.

For the installation of Vista you don't need SATA driver but for Windows XP Home edition you need. Is no problem at all.

The question is what you want to do now? If you want to use Vista just use recovery media and you will have factory again.
    No problem at all.

I can do that, but first of all, I don't want to try to save the data (and photos) from a hard disk.
Is it possible, for example, go to BACK when booting with the recovery CD, and copy the data on USB?

Furthermore, all my data on E:\ partition. Will be crushed it during the installation of recovery?

    Please notify. Kind regards.

    > Is it possible, for example, go to BACK when booting with the recovery CD, and copy the data on USB?
    No, it is not possible!
If you should start up using recovery disc then the recovery process would be started and the whole HARD disk may be formatted!

You can try to start by using a WinPE

Dear readers, (also strange that Toshiba sells also in the Netherlands, and I do not use the Dutch language)

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-410
I have problems after one year only (after warranty) where to plug an external monitor.
The laptop displays not its own screen, without external screen is lighter, it starts but no picture.
I did it with Fn + F5 but nothing

Controlled parameters but no error detected.
It would be nice if someone could send an email with a url so that the old setting back.
It's a Windows XP MCE and the mechanic that all abducted and put Vista on.

At the beginning, a lot of problems, but it was under warranty and after that install on a clean disk Vista had no problem just no image on the notebook and which isn't difficult if you use him in the hospital.

So I hope that someone can send an email with a solution.

    Thank you
    Seggelinck

(> also strange that Toshiba sells also in the Netherlands, and I do not use the Dutch language)

Toshiba selling own products around the world... everyone here validate in the own language? Definitely bad idea...

    However, your question;
Just to clarify your question; the internal screen does not work, but you can all see if you connect to the laptop to the external monitor. Is this good?

Well, I doubt that this could be a software issue... maybe the internal screen is defective.
What do you thing about this idea?

Usually, you should see the start screen for Toshiba at the beginning of the startup procedure. If this screen is not visible on the screen of the laptop computers, so I guess that this problem could be linked to the failure of the display.
