Code 19 No. DVD Drive... what happened?

With the help of Windows7. "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »

That's happened since I turned the pc off and turned it back? I can hear the DVD player running, however, the CD player shows, with a yellow triangle, on the Hardware tab, but it does not appear on the "computer" tab How to fix? It worked fine one day and does not work the other... very frustrated!

Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same resources.

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
the question.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Normally the above will solve this problem otherwise working your way down through them, even if you did
them before.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

Hope these helps.

  • Code 39 CD/DVD drive not detected

Hi, I had to reinstall Vista because my files were corrupted by using Microsoft e-mail support.  I tried to install Windows service pack 2, but it would not be installed. After repair corrupt Vista files and finally get service Pack2 installed, I have had to reinstall a software disc that came with my computer Dell. The cd/dvd drive makes noise but does not read the disc. I logged on the Dell support site and follow their recommendations without success. I have downloaded the recommended bios and firmware dvd, uninstalled Roxio Creator and dvd driver but the system goes on to say that the drive is not detected. Finally, I called Dell and, of course, only the equipment is under warranty and I can't afford to pay for the software support. My computer is 8 months old and I rarely use the dvd player. It worked fine before these repairs and upgrades. My system is Vista 64-bit with service pack 2. According to Device Manager, my dvd player is number model PLDS DVD +-RW DS - 8A3S. BTW, as part of my purchase last summer that I was sent disk to upgrade to Windows 7 for free. I didn't want to hassle with installation at the time, but after pass by all this... should I go ahead and upgrade to Windows 7 after I receive my dvd player work?

    Hello

Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the total process
    which solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then check the cables
both ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean the
power and data of the contacts with a pencil eraser.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or
even if there is 'old', you can reinstall. However, many use the default Windows drivers
Some will be more special. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

I have an OEM of Windows 7 version, so when I buy a new motherboard I intend to buy another copy of Windows 7. What will happen if I use the same hard drive?

Depending on the options you choose during installation. If you start from the installation DVD, you can only do an install custom, which means that your applications and hardware drivers will have to be resettled.

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) ».

How can I go about repairing this anomaly?

    Hey,.

It is a known issue and there are already several discussions here in the forum about error code 19 Device Manager. Toshiba has published an FAQ about this article:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ82023A0000R01.htm

To get rid of this, you must remove the server - and lowerfilters in the Windows registry:

    1.demarrez > run > Regedit
    2. navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    4.reboot.

+ Activate the device using Device Manager. +

    Hello

What happens when you try to reinstall the drivers? You receive an error message?

Step 1: Run the fix it tool in the following article and check.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/

Step 2: Perform the System Restore to the date where the CD/DVD drive was working fine.

  • DVD player does not appear error - the driver may be corrupted or missing. Code 39, fix the driver installation fails, virtual drives don't work - same results if the material under tension

Original title: drive does not appear, difficulty he pilot installation fails, virtual drives don't work - same results if the material under tension

A few weeks ago, as my two DVD players (the two Samsung Lightscribe SH-S223Q of) disappeared after a repair installed, I did for the other problems (not sure if it was directly after installation because I don't notice it right away, but it was no doubt). In Device Manager, it gives the message:

"Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

I tried the Microsoft Fix It tool (Mats_Run.dvd.exe) that detects the problem and says "Install device driver" in a popup, but then he says "software device driver failed to installed. At the end it says under the issue, the "CD/DVD drive is not detected" and the status of Fix 'not set '. Note that, when I boot from another hard drive (with Vista 64 on it installed from the same DVD, just a new installation) disks appear very well. Also I can boot from the drive as well.

I can't do a repair installation, since it must initiate Windows, and I can't load the disc. I tried to update my BIOS but that has no effect.

Recently I actually moved this hard drive to another one, with another brand of hard drive and all the rest. Just like before, if I boot from another hard drive (this one with Windows 7), the drive unit-a Optiarc AD-7230 s - looks and works, and I can also boot from the drive at startup. But since the drive hard as I want to use, the drive does not appear. Fix it, etc. Device Manager gives the same messages as before.

I tried virtual drives - Daemon Tools Lite and Virtual Clonedrive. When I try to add virtual devices to help, nothing happens. The new drive will be displayed in the Manager of devices, but with the same error Code 39 as the real drive.

What are my options at this point? How can I get the drive to appear or to fix my copy of Windows?

I could solve this problem. I started in Ubuntu and deleted the existing cdrom.sys, cdrom.inf etc. files (as in Windows, they were protected and I couldn't delete them), then I copied the files from another installation of Vista I had on another hard drive. After having done that, I updated the drivers in device, disabled/enabled readers and readers management that presented themselves.

  • No access to the DVD drive - 38 error code

Update Driver published 07/07/08 to 23:59 has been installed on my system as made by Toshiba Tempo but rebooting my machine, I get error 38 (according to Vista) that prevents the new driver installation as the old pilot is resident in memory... ?? Effectively, this means that I can't access or see my DVD player more in other ways than in the page Manager devices Control Panel. Option driver restore is not available, perhaps because it was an update of the firmware. The message on the device properties page is as follows:

Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

The installed updatre was frmwre-20080707134447. It includes an Adobe document that tells you what to do and how to ensure that your drive needs to be refreshed, which was easy to follow and loose my machine.

I tried to uninstall the device and the driver, but whenever I have to reload the same error occurs.

I'm really impressed and quite embarrassed, because it is a recommended Toshiba firmware update done using their system of Tempo, ideas or advice welcome.

    Thank you

    Matt

    Hello

Do you see a CD/DVD drive in Device Manager?
If so, then remove it from the list of devices.

Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Finally restart the laptop and check if the CD/DVD drive would still be functions

  • Error code 52 on HG62 Notebook PC - cd/dvd drive does not

    Hello

BIOS recognizes my cd/dvd rom drive, but if I insert a disc, nothing happens. Can't find the workstation link player.  I tried to figure out how to download a new driver in the hope that the problem will be resolved, but continues to run into dead ends.

My product number is XZ267UA #ABA and model number is HP G62-407DX notebook PC.  The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - Bit (6.1, build 7601).

In Device Manager, under my CD/DVD Rom drive, I get an error "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)'.

Can someone please help with this problem?  Thanks in advance!

    Kristen

    Hello Kristen,

    Try the following.

Shut down the laptop.  Here tap f8 as soon as you press the power button to start the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Disable driver signature enforcement" and press ENTER.

When windows is loaded, the optical drive now shows under "computer"?

If it now works Ok, try restarting the laptop - if the error doesn't happen again not great then, but if this is the case, the best option would be to replace the CD/DVD driver as follows.

    1. download the utility which will add "Take Ownership" to the contextual right click menu.  The download is on the following link.

    Appropriating

It is a zipped file.  If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip (if you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you need this version of 7-Zip ) which can be used to open it so that you can run the Setup program.  Then just right click the folder zipped, select 7 - Zip and extract the files.  When you're done, open the newly extracted folder and you can find the utility to add "Take Ownership" to the right click menu.  Double-click it to install it and then close the window.

2 open windows control panel, open Device Manager, open CD/DVD-ROM drives.  Click with the right button on the drive and select uninstall and click on the prompt to complete this.

3 click on the Start Menu, open computer, double-click Local C drive, open the "Windows" folder, open the "System32" folder, right-click on the "drivers" folder and select Take Ownership.

Just below this folder, open the folder "DriverStore", open the "FileRepository" folder, open the folder that starts "cdrom.inf", right click the ' filecdrom.sys' and select copy.

Close all open windows and then paste this file to your desktop.

4 still once, click on the Menu start, open the computer, double-click Local C drive, open the "Windows" folder, open the "System32" folder, then this time Open the folder "drivers", right-click and select Paste.  You should now get a prompt that the file already exists - select the option copy and replace and click on all additional guests to complete it.

Once finished, close all open windows and reboot the laptop - see if this has corrected the error.

    Kind regards

    DP - K
