Re: Fan is constantly running on Satellite A30

Whenever I start my Satellite A30 the fan starts to operate in an audible manner. However, HD is about 32 to 35 ° C, according to speedfan. In addition, from time to time, the fan speeds up and gets really loud.

In addition, sometimes the laptop just closed without any warning. I shall now put the end of the book a one bar so that air can still pass by the pc, and I feel it helps.

I would like to stop the fan always running and to reduce its noise.

My RAM expansion may be the reason?

To make the A30 run better and be able to install WinXP SP3 I upgraded from 256 MB to 2.0 GB of RAM which is the maximum size of RAM according to the manual. I used the site Web of Kingston to select and buy the CPU, so I guess I bought good extensions.

If the extension of RAM were the reason for the fan always market that would mean that if the A30 Gets the full load of RAM it's overheating. Right?

Are there people here on the forum who had the same problem with a noisy laptop after upgrading the RAM?

TIA
FT

Satellite A30 is old enough for laptop and, in my view, there may be a big problem cold air and cooling rack is full of dust. Laptop cannot be properly cooled. I opened several old notebooks and it was amazing to see how the dust was inside. I really wonder how the laptop worked

Laptop last I opened was friends Satellite A100 (not so old as yours) and I've been irritated how fan worked on this laptop. He was so strong and ON / OFF sporadically. After cleaning it computer laptop was extremely calm and fan has worked almost constantly, but at the low level silent.

The same was on my old satellite 1900. It was full of dust.

Upgrade RAM or any other reason can be the reason for more power and performance. Performance notebook more runs faster and produce more heat. The critical threshold is reached laptop after suddenly OFF.

If please advise me as to why my fan on my laptop Toshiba Satellite continues constantly to come and goes out almost every 45 seconds.

The laptop still under warranty just had its second new HDD & bios update & cleaned fan but the laptop computers fan is still constantly * cycling on & off almost every 45 seconds * (sometimes every 60 seconds). It is very annoying and distracting when working.
As I remember this problem with the fan coming on and outside (* cycling after about 50 seconds & staying on during approximately 20 seconds *) did not happen when I first bought the laptop last year.

    Hello

the machine was already a service partner? No matter whether or not, send the machine to the nearest available service partner and let check this problem, because this bike is very unusual and must be fixed by a qualified technician.

  • Fan is always running on Satellite L350D - 12 M

    Hello

I just wanted to ask - is it normal for a laptop to be fan always on as soon as I turn on the laptop fan comes in and hot air out its an AMD Athlon x 2.

    Thanks for any info

On most of the portable fan will begin to operate a few seconds after turning on the laptop computer.
Is that CPU reached high enough temperatures in seconds and cooling sensors detect it and fan will begin to run fast enough.

When the operating system is loaded fans will run more silent. You can reduce the activity of fan if you change the value of cooling method in Toshiba saving settings.
This option, you can find in the advanced settings of the power plan that you use.

I have the Satellite L300D before me and it runs pretty quiet after changing the value of the cooling method. Simply, set it to optimized battery.

  • Satellite A30 was the subject of a cutting and does not start again

    Hello

In the past two months my Satellite phone has been 'cut' operating environment. It seemed to me that the cooling fans were constantly running at high speed and the air coming out of the (output) rear was warmer then normal.

I visually inspected the ports of entry at the bottom of the envelope and they do not appear to be blocked by dust or whatever it is. Yesterday, during 'Disc clean-up', he cuts and just wouldn't start again.

When I try to start the system, the following events happen: first, the "Toshiba" appears as always and then after a few seconds it replaces the logo 'loads Windows' as usual. Then after a few seconds it makes a funny 'click' sound, a blue screen appears for a split second and the system stops again.

My initial problem could have a overheating? If something has been permanently damaged now?

    I would appreciate any input!

    Hello

First of all, please give us more details about your model of laptop. It is always important.

    > After a few seconds, he made a funny sound "click", a blue screen appears for a split second
Looks like a malfunction of the drive HARD and do not overheating what do you think?

Have you tried to format the whole HARD drive and reinstall the OS from the restore CD? In my eyes, you should first check this possibility.

But as you probably know nothing is impossible in the word computer laptop and wide. ;) then maybe it s overheating in such a case, the laptop must be professionally checked by a qualified technician.

  • Satellite A30 stops when you run Norton

Hello. I have a Satellite A30 which crashes when trying to run Norton.

Spec: Satellite A30, Win XP Home SP1, 512 MB RAM, 3 + Ghz processor.

We also noticed that the fan seems to be "fully enlightened", even when he's just sitting on the desktop with any of the applications that are running.

    Any ideas?

We noticed that there was a notification for install of XP SP2, so we clicked on that. He started to install, the fan is even harder, it crashed again and now there is no notification of XP SP2!

We are sure that this is a problem of overheating or battery, but we wonder what we can do about it.

I hope someone can help. Thank you.
    Nath.

    Hello Nath

As far as I know that satellite A30 is about two years old and agree to your description, I assume that the unit needs to be cleaned. I have Satellite P20, also more than two years, and for a short while I cleaned. You can't imagine how much dust was inside. I have a cat at home and I think half of the cat hair was inside.

After cleaning, the laptop can take a breath and it works more silent. Now, I am very satisfied. I can just recommend you to do the same.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite P100-324: the Fans are still running

    Hi to you all,.

Maybe you can answer me the question.
Is it normal that my laptop fans are still running. I put the 'silent' settings in the bios and forced the laptop to run always on 1000 MHz, if I only use it for writing
    in Word or reading emails.

It's really annoying. I don't know what to do.

Thankz for your help in advance

    Michael

    Hello Michael

It is nothing unusual that cooling fan runs constantly on low speed. On modern laptops, there is a powerful hardware that needs to be cooled correctly. Especially many different processes are active in the background and CPU is standing under pressure. Not much when you use just the laptop for writing, but obviously enough to increase the temperature of the CPU.

Try it please set the CPU and cooling to a minimum level method. Also check the Task Manager and end the process, you don't need. Maybe this will help!

  • Satellite A30 714 cooling fan noise

I have an A30 714 and due to the high temperature of the portable computer, the fan is on 90% of the time. It is very noisy. It is also the energy consumption when working with batteries. Does anyone have a suggestion about the possible problem and solution?

    Thank you

    Hi Fernando,

From your description, I suspect that there is some malware running on your A30 which is causing the CPU to process at a higher than normal rate, so the high activity of the fan and the autonomy of the batteries.

I suggest that you scan your A30 for virus/spyware/malware, etc. using a utility such as ADAWARE and SPYBOT (both are free and can be downloaded if you have not already installed).

I also suggest that you start the Task Manager and check exactly what percentage is actually using your CPU and what services/applications are actually being run.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite A30 - 404 - the fan does not work

I have a Satellite A30-404 for a couple of years now, and recently I saw serious problems with my laptop.

Let me start from the beginning:

My laptop has been a few months, when he suddenly stopped, I contacted the helpline and they picked up the phone and fixed.
Again, a few months later, it happens again and I call them, they tell me that the problem is caused by the dust accumulating on the radiator of the laptop.
I used a vacuum among fans to clean dust.

When I do that, indeed, there was a lot of dust coming out, so I made this process, I realized a few months and the laptop remained very well.

A few months ago, when vacunuming the pc again once I heard something breaking and I soon realized that all the components of one of the fan where gone.

Probably one of them broke and since it had to be rotated at high speed he stopped and beat all the others. So I had 2 broken fans 1. I realized that in the long term that my processer could be destroyed because it did not good cooling. Since then the processer would become very hot and consumes much more energy than normal.

Now, I also have the problem that whenever I turn on the pc it starts slowly draining battery (its plugged into the power supply). It's like I have a giant battery, the laptop power and eventually it will turn off. I also tried to boot the pc with no battery at all and it works very well for a while, but then it turned off suddenly. I try to turn on the pc and after 1 or 2 seconds it stops again. I don't know if its related to the fact that the processor is damaged boats.

I talked to a lot of people in order to get the fixed fan but they say it can become very expensive since its hard getting the same fan. And by the way, when I work on the computer with only the battery that it depends on almost an hour

    Any suggestions? Help, please

EDIT: I turned of the auto in hibernation when the battery is low to see what is happening, the energy of the battery indicates 0%, but the laptop stays on.

    Hello

Well, you should be cautious if you use the vacuum cleaner to clean the fans. It is risky!
Extra ball bearings might damage if the fans turn too fast.

So if you have no experience with these procedures you should t do.
The person with the experience as a technician workbook must clean the fans and cooling modules.

I agree with Doomlord, and it seems that you need a new cooling module.

  • Satellite A30 will not run on sector, only on the battery

My Satellite A30 battery recharges the AC adapter when the laptop is turned off, but when I turn on, the laptop runs only the battery and no power outlet. I get a green light indicating that the AC adapter is plugged in but no battery light. The symbol power tells me that it is on the power supply (Full Power Mode). Sounds like something horrible inside.

    Any ideas?

What happens when you remove the battery and you try to start your laptop using only the AC adapter?

  • My HP Pavilion case cooling fan just started running constantly.

My case Office cooling fan runs constantly.  He just started this.  My computer is a HP Pavilion, Nr QX344AA #ABC.  I did no significant change

    Hello

Case fans will always run so how (speed) is the question.

Your PC can be covered by the warranty.  Did you check the warranty status?

Open the PC and use a can of compressed air to blow out all the dust, including the dust of the heatsink from the CPU.  While the PC is open, disconnect and reconnect the connector to the case fan goes to the motherboard to make sure the connection is tight.

Ensure that the PC to not locked up in restricted airspace.

Have you tried latest version of the bios updated?  The most recent is 7.16.

  • FANS CONSTANTLY RUNNING

For reasons unknown to me, the fans on my early 2011 MacBook Pro operate at full capacity from the time when I start the computer until I shut it down and sometimes beyond the closure of 15 ". After taking it to the Apple Store, we found that it is not a hardware problem. I also discovered that it happens on my account and not on the other count that one in my computer. I did a SMC & PRAM reset without change. When I check the activity monitor, it shows what we call "launchd" using more than 100% of the CPU and the last time of the CPU was 1:06:37:46. The "UserEventAgent" uses more than 50% CPU with a time of 10:25 CPU. 35. when I forced him to leave the 'launchd', it restarts my computer and nothing changes. I also tried to force him to leave the "UserEventAgent", but it just restarts. And of course as a result fans walk constantly, my battery lasts about 45 minutes.

What could be the cause of this? The specifications of my MacBook Pro are:

OS X Version of El Capitan 10.11.2

    Processor - 2 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory - 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

    Boot disk - Macintosh HD

Graphics - Intel HD 3000 512 MB graphics card

Thanks in advance to anyone who can solve this dilemma for me.

  • Satellite A200-1N9 fan begins to run faster and become strong

    Hello

So, I have a strange problem. When my fan starts to run faster it bocome so loud, I can't work.
What is more strange when he has bocome hard I can't start new programs and programs already running freezes.

What kind of sorcery is this?

    Sincerely
    By Aspera

    null

    Hello

This occurs because a process running in the background constraints the CPU at 100% and this creates more heat dissipation and the fan on and short shot more quickly to cool the CPU. In addition, the CPU is locked and therefore the system hangs for a while.

You should check what method or tool stresses the CPU.
You can start the task (CTRL + ALT + DELETE) Manager and check the processes tab.
Here you can see in the CPU column which processes are using most of the CPU performance.

  • Constantly running EL Capitan 10.11.2 fans

Since I updated to El Capitan a few days ago, on my computer fans were constantly working as soon as I wake up. I checked the activity monitor and something in the labeled Safari'http://1771401311.rsc.cdn77.org/ uses to the top of my use of the computer in its entirety.  As soon as I left Safari, the problem goes away, but I would like to use Safari as my favorite browser. No idea how to solve this problem? Thank you

Forgive me if this is a bit inconsistent.  This is my first time trying to explain what happened.  I think that I finally managed to get rid of it after 3 days.  I finally realized that after I force quit the process, he would raise only when I created a new tab by pressing command + t or the small sign.  When you open a new tab via a link, everything remained very well.  So, I pressed command-t and began to inspect my 'top sites '. Somehow, this spam page that says ' to call this number back on your web browser"was there.  Once I deleted that and cleared my cookies, I was honest and leaves.

  • Satellite A30 - 303 unplanned shutdown?

    Hello world

I have a laptop Satellite A30-303. Somehow, independent programs open in Windows XP (Home, Pro edition, tried both), computer laptop unexpectedly shutw down, stop immediately. No message from windows, no errors of any kind, nothing, just the way it went.

It's very strange. I have read all of the instructions, did the bios update to 1.80 (dated Sep 15) and still the same thing.

Fact checking for viruses, all firewalls security and it did not help at all.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards

    Hello Hakan

Please check that the machine not too much heat! The symptom you describe is exactly that of a machine overheating. Check if the fan is running continuously before stopping. Also check that there is no dust in the cooling of the machine module.

  • Satellite A30-414 turn off randomly

Hi, I'm new here. I own this Satellite A30-414. It works well, but it turns off randomly. I explain.

I might use it for non-stop days, it works well, but sometimes it empties and turns off. Then it always turns on the second attempt. I mean, after the stop, I turn it on, I see the MESSAGE, then it turns off again. The second time I turn it on it goes OK and starts Windows XP Pro SP3. There is no particular action, I do it turns off, it can happen any application at any time. As I said, it can stay for days, connected to the internet via wifi or lan, download P2P stuff, no problem not turn off.

I thought it was the temperature because it's warm enough, so I run it on a laptop computer have lower airflow, not at all, it turns off randomly anyway. Maybe I'm thniking more heating unsoldered some brazing under BGA chips, so it might need a redistribution of some chips, maybe the graphics chip

    Can you help me please?

    Thanx
    Satiropan

    Hi satiropan,

    > I thought it was the temperature because it's warm enough, so I run it on a laptop computer have lower airflow, not at all, it turns off randomly anyway.
Such an external Notebook Cooler will not help you solve this problem. The internal cooling fan is designed and tested for this laptop and everything will work perfectly even on high usage. External cooling is not necessary.

It's old enough laptop model, so I imagine that a lot of dust blocking the cooling fan. Therefore, clean it with a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. The exact procedure is described here:
[How to clean a Toshiba laptop cooling system? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=40]

I hope that it helps :)
